I have been far too busy to get back to this one, so I'm going to archive it. That will leave a space for some other cacher to place one - or one day I'll go back there with a new cache.

Should have looked at previous logs before attempting this one. We think it has been muggled, there is evidence of its former glory about 1-2m from the corner under a bush, there is a hollow and a small piece of flat rock (about 10x20cm) lying around looking out of place. Suggest the owner check on it, as DNFs have been logged since 21 Nov 2009. Cheers.

I'm disabling this one until I can get there to check and replace - it seems to have gone missing. Grandalf

A great evening to run some steam off younger cachers, but unfortunately after a good search we couldn't turn this one up.

This ones either very well hidden or lost...

Arriving at GZ thought - ah this is easy, but it was just a discarded tupperware container. I didn't have the clue with me, so I searched about for a bit with everything in mind. Couple of energetic muggles ran past (silly buggers) but I am afraid I missed out on a smiley. At least I was rewarded with a wonderful view. There is a conveniently placed water fountain half way up the hill this one!! I reviewed the clue now and no doubt will try again next time I am back home.

The awesome views and sights more than made up for the missed smiley, it was far too hot to be caching... we will definitely be back!

DNF far too silly to climb a hill without a water bottle, I should have known better, lucky for me Mrs Yeetrees wasn’t here otherwise I would have definitely got told off, saw some spectacular views but no cache , so no smiley, will definitely be back and bringing the water and the wife, no particular order!!!

Looking for a couple of caches in the Quarry we came up here.It certainly is a great view but was quite windy.We were quite suprised to see that a new housing estate is creeping down the hillside.Left a Green Frog TN TFTC.

Nice find on a wonderful day out with Heabe and family.

Perfectly calm and clear day, certainly felt like spring.. We stood and looked out over the view, while the children ran around looking for 'club houses' in the bush.

This marks our 100th find, yah!

Second of 4 Caches at Halswell Quarry today. Great views from this spot, unfortunately being a mild Sunday, there were numerous mugglers also enjoying the view. Once they dispersed, cache was easily located. TNLN . TFTC !

Nice to be able to do one of Grandalfs without too much mental or physical pain and suffering! An easy find once we gave up worrying about Aloha Sonny and turned our sights on achievable goals and enjoying the warmth and views. A very popular place today with muggles and their pets out in force. Left Niederrhein 2007 Geocoin so it can see more of the world. TFTC

I have to agree about the Muggles Galore bit! Lots of waiting around for a quiet time was called for -- perhaps a beautiful Sunday afternoon isn't the right time to visit this one?! Still, it was a nice spot to visit and fun to find. Thanks, Grandalf.

Our GPS had us bang on the spot but no luck, even though we had a big team of helpers today.

It took a couple of trips usually in the evening running out of daylight. Have found it with daylight to spare, all in good condition, took nothing, and left it as it was ......

Nice view! And not too much trouble with passersby.

Well thought out placement - a gardener was using a weed eater just a few metres away, but the cache was still able to be found and returned discreetly. It was a very hot day in the quarry.

Bloody well hid. TFTC and another chance to enjoy the view.

Wandering past so I had a quick look inside. It needs a new plastic bag, I will try and remember to drop one in next time I pass.

Nice hike up to the top which I will consider my exercise for the day. Nice view but a chill wind made it a little less pleasurable. Found with a bit of looking left a Geo Badge for anyone wanting to show thier colours. TFTC

So simple, yet so hard. Took ages in hot sun, was 31deg today to find this, and couldn't believe how simple it was in the end.

Wow, think I must of floated up here, still on a high from finding Aloha Sonny no doubt. But in truth, hardly noticed the ascent as the view was magnificent today (possibly one of the best viewpoints in the greater CHCH area I think) and lots of interesting signage to read along the way.
Clever wee hide too, had bit of a chuckle on that.

Spent ages hunting and avoiding muggles and then found it by standing on the spot. Left a key ring took nothing. TFTC

What can I say about this cache site that others haven't already said. I was at this cache as the snow and frost were melting which made the track a little muddy but Chch City have done a grand job to restore the park area to be a enjoyable place to relax. Pity that the smog drift from the city made distant views hazy.

A cache for the energetic people!!!

I just had to come back for this one after missing it a few weeks back. Dragged Mrs Explorer and the Little Explorer's up here this time as reinforcements. They were not needed. We used some patience to out wait some muggles and Mr Explorer made an easy find - the gps pointed straight to the spot this time - searched elsewhere last time. TFTC - great view on an amazingly warm winters afternoon.

Found it at the original destination, a small consolation prize after we thought we had Aloha sussed. We know we are close!

An interesting saga in the history of a cache!!
It seems Kiwi Explorer failed to find it on the 13th June, I went and checked it on the 14th, and it was in place(within 30cm). Later that day, it was apparently muggled, and BeavisNZ found it out in the open on the 15th. BeavisNZ then carefully hid the cache about 7metres from its original spot, and warbut found it there on the 17th. Today (18th) I went and picked it up from BeavisNZ hiding palce, and placed it back in its original position. Don't caches get around!!

Cache was exposed nearby. There was a log entry on same day by 'Jake'. I suspect that Jake might be a muggle. This may explain why Kiwi Explorer had no luck a couple of days before. I do not know where it was meant to be hidden so have put it back in a spot that matches the info. ie "The cache is hidden under a thin piece of the local product, now covered by a bush." Still pondering the meaning of Aloha!!!

Nothing at gz that matched the clue except the obvious which were everywhere and no cache either - maybe it's better hidden than the difficulty rating or perhaps the gps was just a bit out. Looked for 5 minutes then muggles turned up so time to go - nice spot though.

Finally found this one and is third time lucky. Was looking in totally wrong area previously.

Good fun to find, especially as it's near seats where muggles like to sit - well they did during our visit anyway!

#174. Found with Troodles. Thought we'd be cunnign and drive up Kennedys Bush Rd and come in from the top. Turned out to be further than we thought; may as well climbed up from the bottom. Quick find for Troodles. She then walked down, and I went back up for the car.

While writing this log I realised when we found the cache it was about a week short of it being there three years, but we did find it on Easter weekend. Pre caching days we often came to this park while visiting Christchurch, walking past this spot a number of times, we always enjoy coming here. Even thought the cache hiding spot is not covered by vegetation anymore we still took awhile to find it! Sometimes you just don’t see what’s right in front of your nose.

I was happily surprised that we completed this cache today. Given the length of the walk, not very long, but longer than what I expected my two preschoolers to last. Which they did and were even still in a good mood when we got back to the car. Saw a rabbit on the way back to the car which allowed us to watch it.
Almost couldn't find the cache then went back to the gps and trusted it and not where I thought it was and bingo it was found.
Thanks for getting me to visit the area for the first time, have already decided we will have to come back for those other caches.

Nice to visit this cache again, this time with Varuna. Only 1/10 the usual muggles around on this very windy but sunny day.

Quickly spotted it at the first attempt. Luckily there were not many muggles on that day - caching during the weekdays is one of the best advantages where that the most of the muggles are at work. . Thanks for bringing us to the lovely view and the cache.

Yep found it, then had to subtly get the noisy pack of scouts to find it for themselves. Despites reminders of S T E A L T H ! ! they were as quiet as elephants. But we all had fun! Thanks for the cache Grandalf! (Swapy but can't remember what).

Found this one together just prior to helping with the GPS Society's scout event and accompanying Scout Jamboree Groups A & B around the quarry to three of the four predetermined locations guided by GPS.
These included this cache - which they logged in the logbook. Two scout badges were added to the treasure of this cache.

This was a fun and worthwhile activity that was a pleasure to have been a part of. Thanks to Rediguana

This was a quick find, and a nice walk on a sunny afternoon, a few muggles around so had to wait for them to depart before hiding the cache

I went for a little wander, and the cache is now properly covered - let's hope that Grandalf's magic can keep it safe. Be assured it is under my watch.

Cache was uncovered. Last entry in the log was by Voldemort. May be wise to relocate.

Thought we might have to find this one without any documentation when our PDA decided to throw a hissy fit. For once our GPS was right on the mark and the cache was quickly found and written up between muggles passing at a fast pace. Later found there was some kind of meet going on down below we hadn't noticed on arrival. Nice walk on a better than average winters day. Left a strawberry.

Found it. One of those very obvious places that completely passes you by the first 20 minutes you're looking! Took nothing, left a metro card with some credit on it.
