I must say that Ive not had a lot of success over the years with this sort of cache but now that Boris caches with me maybe things will change.and change they did as while I was busy getting my boobs covered in cobwebs, Boris was busy finding the cache. Thanks Team Crackers for a cracker of a cache.
Love gun caches lucky it didnt take long to locate as I probably would be logging a dnf.
What a gloomy Sunday morning it was as we set off for our little interstate holiday for the weekend. We were lucky enough between breaks in the rain to quickly get out of the car and go have a search of some close by caches along our travels.Nice quick find with this one, log is full so had to find somewhere to squeeze our name on.Thanks for placing for us to find today
In Portland this weekend to celebrate Cracker Dad's 70th and Fathers Day with 4 generations of the family. Out early this morning before the rest of the house woke up, this was was the first cache of the day en route to complete a couple of Adventure Labs in Portland. The cache was quickly located and my name added to the log. Thanks Team Crackers aka the parents for the cache.
We are travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying in Portland for a few days, wandering around the area enjoying the amazing sights this area has to offer. TFTC TeamCrackers, this could have taken much longer than it did. LNCU.
#177 09/06/2024 @2:51pmThat took some work!! Glad there were no kids around because I was pretty frustrated at this one! TFTC!
Thank you for this oneI climbed up and spotted it, not much of a T1 but Im glad to grab this one
In Portland for a few days and did a tour of our local caches to check their condition.Happily this one is all good.
Spending this warm day down in Portland. After having a nice lunch down in Bridgewater and going for a great swim at the beach went to grab a few caches. First one for the day, thought it would be much harder to find but thankfully was nice and quick. Interesting seeing and reading about the canons here. Tftc
Walking up to GZ, the fear of " Oh no, not this type of hide" flooded my brain but very happy it was the first place I put my hands :p.All is good here, replaced back to where it lives just waiting for its next visitor. Thanks for the hide
Found on our way to SA.I usually have trouble finding these type of cashes, but found this one inside of 2 minutes.Couldnt believe my luck.TFTC LeDug.
That was a tricky one. Long time searching, finally spotted by Monks 55. Thanks for the fun!
Easy find as had a fair idea what to look for.The statue on the way there was a tad creepy!
On the cannon there was thousands of spots to look at and we couldnt find the cache
Dropped by this cache today and every thing id all good and waiting for the next finder.
Oh how I dislike caches on guns. They are hard enough to find without people not replacing them in the exact same spot they found them. It is quite obvious from the logs that this one has moved around a bit. One saving grace is that it is not a micro.
Pa found it just as I was prepared to give up. The log is full, so I have added another log. TFTC Team Crackers SL

frmen1 and I had been watching the action at the wharf from various vantage spots and a geocache just happens to be nearby. Found very quickly. The history boards were interesting too. In good order. TFTC
Had to come back for another go at this one and found it straight away! Don’t know how we missed it the first time

SL at 1:55pm. Day out in Portland with bdiaw for his birthday lunch with family! I have never been here before today but bdiaw has. bdiaw made the find here after a joint thorough search. Such an interesting history lesson and an amazing place to explore. One can only imagine what it must have been like back then. While the rain set in, bdiaw opened his presents in the car. We then headed off to do some shopping before heading home.

Day 3 of my road trip through the south west of Victoria... a day out to Portland... with plans to find enough caches to tick off Glenelg Shire for the *12 Circuits of Victoria Challenge* that I am working on... and generally have a great time!
Having had a frustrating time in town getting nowhere fast with a couple of Multis, I decided that if I going to complete my quest that I had better keep it simple and find some Trads... and what could be simpler than finding a Micro on a big gun . Fortunately it didn't take me all that long!
Thanks **Team Crackers** for this cache.

Found on our travels through the area, heading from Portland to Warrnambool today. After a few laps around GZ, the cache was spotted. Insert nano rant here. Signed log and left as found. Cheers for the cool spot.
Find #5159 on 1 Feb 2023.

After 30+ minutes of fruitless searching, I call in my "big guns" for searcing- my geowife. I read a single activity log and she located in 3 minutes! "Clear as day", to quote her.
Trying to catch up on some very late logs. Sorry for the more generic logs.
We are slowly making our way around the Western District and stopping off to make a find each day. Not having been out this way for a while, it was nice to take a look at town and catch up with friends.
This was an interesting part of town to explore while out for a walk. Took a bit to find, but got there in the end.
Thanks Team Crackers for highlighting this area and placing the cache for us to find.

In Portland and with a bit of spare time, we picked up a few caches.
Last time we were in Portland, we had a DNF here.
So it was on our 'must do' list - to turn that blue frown into a yellow smiley.
A quick find this time. Signed and replaced.
A favouite point added for the awesome history.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Team Crackers, for us and others to find.

Our first actual cache in 12 months (I think) and on a tour of Portland. The cache was just “hanging on” so relocated it to a more secure footing. Needs new log badly.
Thanks for the cache Team Crackers.

Found it ! We had a great time here checking everything out. There’s a great view from here. TFTC
Good hide. Read some history on the big guns. Beautiful day and the strong smell from the wood chip brings back memories of the industry.
Dreading this! Happily the bingo moment was quick. On a multi mission and a circuitous route to the SW of Vic from the NE - first escape within the post regional Covid lockdown so freedom seems a tad weird. Excited to be here exploring the Shipwreck Coast and significant other spots. This one fits the bill. TFTC and the fun!

In the area for work for a few days, actually going home sooner due to the 4th lockdown.
But had sometime for caching before hitting the road.
This was one the caches I did whilst here, cheers for the cache Team Crackers
Was surprised how fast I actually found it, usually a hide on one of these takes so much longer.

We called in here today to replace the log sheet and found the cache missing so both have now been replaced.
Sandy, Craig and 2
Like everyone before us log is full and didn't have any paper to replace, hopefully next finder will have some paper with them

Clocks changed, so I’m up early this morning, 5.30am (really 6.30am), early coffee and a few finds before sunrise.
I don’t know if I’m Crackers of they are?
Anyway going off previous logs and what I found I decided it was too early to call the CO’s so I replaced the cache for them - your welcome - if I’m wrong - sorry

Found with Boo09, Neisha07 & Chan02 (+ Muggle husband and geo-pup Sammy) on a family trip to Portland.
We had 15 minutes to kill while waiting for our pizza dinner so headed this way.
We enjoyed the history but had almost given up on finding the cache when finally Neisha07 made the find. TFTC at a great historic spot.

A nice quick find while learning a little bit of Portland’s military history. TFTC TNLN SL
Quick find. Log book is full. To our fellow catchers, we need paper to fit in a magnetic key holder container please. Cache in good condition. Great history about the guns. TFTC.
I looked at this beast and though oh no. Metal machinery and caching and the BoabTree do not always get on. But I found the cache with not too much difficulty. Great hide.
We headed out of a town a bit to check out the place and decided it was too cold and it was time to head in to the shops to get more Winter Woollies (in the middle of summer!). A slight detour found us here exploring the battery. Tftc
