I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi Mcroni
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

I think I checked the base of every broadleaf in the GZ and came up empty handed. Could you make the hint a little more specific for future cachers who don't have a lot of time to hunt around. Had fun nevertheless!
I arrived at the car park yesterday just as the rain started pelting down so decided to leave it for another day. Today was that day! After the grunt up I choose to follow the more tricky orange triangle path up here. I couldn't believe it when I found the cache in the first place I checked. I was feeling very pleased to have found this unloved cache when I noted that actually it was just found yesterday. Funny - way after a year without finds it happens to get two into two days. I guess that's just how it goes. TFTC # 12,471
Found it pretty quickly actually. Maybe I just got lucky or I had the right lighting. TFTC!
Looked for over an hour for this little gem! I saw the last log also was a DNR Will come back and try again. A couple other hunters were looking too and couldn’t find it. Good luck other hunters
Out exploring in the school holidays and this is our first time to the Organ Pipes - very impressive and the views are amazing! Quick scramble around and cache soon found by J. Found a nice stable column and had our lunch before heading up for a closer look and to complete the Earth Cache. TFTC
Out with Red Roaming as we continue our tour of New Zealand. another lovely day. we have just visited the Moeraki Boulders and are on our way further down the coast to Dunedin. Logs signed with our full names or DD & RR to save space. RR was soon signing this log. MTFTC lovely views from here
Cache found after a scramble around some hint items eventually getting to the right one! Amazing rock formation here which I haven't known of or seen before, with wonderful views too! Many thanks
Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer to help her celebrate taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

Always enjoy coming to the Organ Pipes for a scramble on the rocks. Checked up on the cache and all good, left TB.
Thought we already had this one, but no....and so had to stop at the Organ Pipes on the way back down from By a Nose. One of my favourite sites in Dunedin, though not as impressive since the earthquake when many of the pipes fell over.
FOUND IT (Ok actually my mum found it first!!!) Second time lucky.. not sure how I missed this last time! Lovely lovely spot!
A wet and soggy scramble through the trees after the heavy rain. Rocks are slippery beware! TFTC
While eager geology students measure the columns and scampered up 'The Pipes,' Mr. Rex went the other way, and almost made a meal of the hunt, before allowing for 'bounce'...many thanks for the hide - a great location!
Discovered this one as a group with eilisrose, Hevic, MrPig, Cj-Curry, and cjsheridan. Decided to tramp up Mt. Cargill which I found was a bad idea.
We decided to go up the hard way - this was also a bad idea. Luckily some intrepid searching managed to locate it!

Found on a big day out with Cj-Curry, eilisrose, MrPig, safetykat, and cjsheridan
thanks for the cache!
thanks for the cache!
When eilisrose suggested a trek up Mt. Cargill before leaving Dunedin, I jumped on the opportunity and planned a day out. So the two of us, plus Hevic, MrPig, safetykat, and cjsheridan went on a hike around from Sawyers Bay to Bethunes Gully taking in as many of the sights as we could before the rain decided to spoil our afternoon.
We did a very CJ-Curry thing at this cache: take the most direct route, then discover that there was an easier way. Ah well. MrPig, cjsheridan, and I had a great climb. And as a bonus, we found the cache! This was the oldest one we found today, and certainly one of the high-adrenaline ones. Cheers!

Woo hoo! Took me a loooong time to find this one... just about to give up and I spotted it! Quite the climb to reach cache Left a TB in there - bye Mr Cobra!
Brisk wee walk up here, clamber over the rocks, and a decent hunt before Gadget finally found it. All the while it was snowing. Great fun. TFTC
Not the best time to come up here. It was clear sky's when we left the truck but by the time we got to the top the sky was not clear and the snow was falling g thick and fast. It took quite some time to find the cache and once we did we left in quite a hurry to get down before we were stuck up there. So TFTC

A fairly quick find and I found a trackable that has just started its journey. When placing the cache back it dropped down out of sight but it is still reachable without and problem unless you are a child. I did place the rock back in front where it had been.
Nice day for a walk by Guwapo and Papa. Not having a lot of success at the GZ and as not wanting to make a return visit contacted a previous finder. Got directed to a different area and after a while contact was made and the log signed. Salamat!
Great spot sunny day in Dunedin But mist all over the pipes, love this place used to come up here a lot as a kid can still remember the old viewing platform which looks long gone now. TFTC
Awesome view for a geocache. TFTC, TN but left a geocoin with a mission. Please help it on its journey north.
Nice to find this cache after a hard time no finding the other one I was going for. cheers.

After we'd had some snacks I climbed down and retrieved the box. Not the easiest cache of the day but well worth it!
Spent the day geocaching up on Mount Cargill and the on the trail to Organ pipes. The weather was fantastic and the views extraordinary over the Otago Peninsula and the Dunedin area. Since we had two kids joining us the pace of the walk was just perfect. We really got to experience some pure New Zealand tramping.
After the tramp we went picking up my cousin at the university and we got to visit Signal Hill and the centennial memorial.

Sorry for the very late log..I found this with swollibman, this time with view from the stunning organ pipes. TFTC!
We found this one just before doing the Earthcache for 7 Souvenirs of August. Quite a few muggles around today but they weren't interested in what we were up to and found it pretty soon after a bit of scrambling around on the rocks. Not much of a view today due to the mist. TFTC!
An opportunity to come to NZ and to also get to Dunedin to see of we could pick up a few of the earth caches, old caches and virtuals so we had a busy task. We ended up the mountain early and rose above the low level clouds to just see a few peaks poking through.
After the earth cache it was time for this one. We scrambled over the organ scree and had a tuff time trying to locate this one. We knew the type of hid it should be and how to view it but nothing. The GPSr was not the best here either but despite the accuracy shown of over 10m the co-ords appeared good. We eventually found the hide (after almost giving up) when we spotted a rock that was looking not quite right and when we moved it we exposed the cache which was totally hidden (we have the rock not covering all the cache but should not be obvious to muggles. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Found the bugger. On a misty, drizzly, windy day. Was lovely! Initially my phone's GPS sent me to the wrong place nearby, but it must have known there was a discarded plastic bottle just waiting for me to pick up and take home. Took the rubbish bottle, rechecked my phone, searched in a different spot and YAY! Thanks for the great location.
A quick find after lunch - had to put faith in the GPS, which pointed me straight to it. Cheers!
Got back into town after a week away and saw this had been found, so a trip for a look was required. good fix and a quick find was made. A bit nippy and lots of mist up here in the morning.

Had been here before looking for this one not long after discovering the 'sport' of geocaching with no luck. Found it this time in under 2 minutes from arriving at the Organ Pipes - maybe it's because we're 'more experienced' now or maybe the satellites were in better alignment but whatever the reason we were happy to tick this one off for day 25 in 31 days of geocaching. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
A very pleasant stroll to Organ Pipes and nice to have the place to ourselves so we could search in peace, not that we needed long because this time the GPS took us straight to it. Found with debsnz
A nice morning for a little ramble up this trail and on to Mt Cargill. We had a bit of trouble here until we trusted the GPS more and read the clue. A great little spot and nicenlittlengeology lesson at the nearby EC! Thanks from Ontario Canada!
Once again we took the tricky way to the cache (we came from the bottom which was fun and we enjoyed the view). Once at the right, place cache was found pretty quickly. TFTC.
These are awesome structures, some very loose pices of rock around the GZ though.

Once at the organ pipes I was adamant I had to find this cache. Initially starting looking too high up, GPS was changing around a lot, but then went lower and eventually found the cache. A couple of muggles came along as we were searching and were interested when we told, them what we were doing, so it was cool to get the cache and show them! TFTC

Found with KiwiRanger. Fab cache in an incredibly interesting place, when you get up close and personal you can see why they are called the "Organ Pipes". Nothing like a solid memory of NZ's volcanic past!
Made hard work of it, thought my dinner was going to end up in the dog I was taking so long. TFTC
Trying to go the wrong way up to Mt. Cargill we found ourselves faced with this one, Since I had read about this one before I came over for the NZ MEGA I convinced Dad we should just do it then find another way to Mt. Cargill from that other road that his GPS was telling us to do, or was it mine?
Anyhoo... Dad casually strolled up the incline and was soon gone from my sight leaving me gasping for air and strength to continue up the hill behind him somewhat slower and less confidant that I would even make it at all!
Finally I managed to get to the little passageway between the trees to head for the Earth cache nearby while dad brought me the log to sign for this one as I took pics of my precarious position.
Lovely area, dangerous movable rocks and some interesting holes between them too! Wouldn't like to get my foot stuck, might not get it out again!
Got some great views too!

DNF... Had a quick look, GPS all over the place. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule today to grab 9 different cache types and to reach a major milestone, will hopefully return for a decent search on our next visit to the area, TFTCSF.
Found with MtnLioness on our tour around Southern NZ and the NZ MEGA event.
Well Well, are we the only people who went to the MEGA who found this cache .
(We found 10, yes, 10, different cache types this day) yay.
That's only the beginning of the story. MtnLioness and I were heading to the Sth Island's oldest cache - GCAF - Mount Cargill. We went through the centre of Dunedin, and one GPS said to go this way by road, the other one said to go another way by road. (Both Garmins). We headed off on the newer Garmin's route by road, then we decided to go the other way as one of us suggested it seemed better roads!. So, we went via this cache's road, but we soon realised as we were heading off in the wrong direction with 10+km of road to go when we were only 1km from the cache, this was not the route to use. BUT, we noticed this cache was 450m away, no problems, so we parked at the parking spot and headed off up the hill. MtnLioness soon ran out of puff, but I carried on leaving her to catch up. I got to the fallen organ pipes graveyard, then spent 5 mins searching when MtnLioness arrived. Another 5 mins searching and I eventually found the cache, very difficult to locate with only half the sky in view and trees around. But found it was and signed. Then we went to do the measuring for the Earthcache. Those pipes sound hollow when you tap them.
Overall, a TOP spot, fantastic geological features all around and high up above, and great views too. Thanks.

Ghostgums, gunnie69, Ozibags, thefourbees, Kaisho53 and MrMeccano were on a 6 day escapade to Dunedin to attend the mega and this was thebeginning of our second day. After a bit of a wet & windy day 1, day 2 looked more promising. We had set our sights on a drive out to Port Chalmers and back.
After the nearby earthcache it was time to battle the rocks and slippery surfaces for 3 of us who weren't about to leave an unfound cache. Eventually ozibags found the cache.
great views

Day 2 of Cache Hunting at NZ Mega 21012 with Gunnie69, Ghostgums, Mr Meccano, Ozibags and TheFourBees
Arriving carefully @ GZ due to the slippery conditions, we had errnat GPS confusion reign..
First they pointed here - then there - never two in the same direction
Well only option just keep looking till we suceed
And Ozibags soon made a find
Log soon signeded and we headed along
Well worth a favourite point

A heart-pumping climb from the car park then the search started. our GPS's could not decide which way we should go so we did a lot of clambering over the 'pipes', but I was the eventual finder.
During our search some sleet decided to fall, but it was sunny in the valley!! And I'm sure I noticed a couple of snow flakes falling on the journey back to our vehicle!! Crazy weather! TFTC Mcroni.

Oh boy, the GPS was not at all happy in this area and every time we moved to secure the find, the arrow would swing around in a different direction... It was impossible to calibrate the compass among the fallen pipes too...
We had people all over the place and with recent hail over the area, the rocks were slippery and awkward to traverse at times... Persistence paid off though and as we spread out, OziBags made a successful find and hailed in the crew. A sticker in the log, the container was tucked away and some more pics of the valley below were snapped... A great spot... [^]
Found with fellow Queensland hunters Kaisho53, OziBags, TheFourBees, Ghostgums and Mr Meccano during our six day visit to Dunedin.
Cheers Mcroni.

A lovely day and a scenic walk to this cache site. Pity I took a fall on the 'organ pipe' stones. No matter, I have a 'smiley' and it was nice to be with family.
We took a while to fnd this one, GPS was all over the place and it's not as if you can walk around in circles easily! Eventually Miss 10 spotted it but poor old fluffyduck38 took a nasty fall on a rock that moved under his feet. We thought we might have to call in the rescue helicopter but luckily he didn't break anything and we all walked back up to Mount Cargill, fluffyduck38 more gingerly than the rest of us.
found it on a roadtrip around the south island. TFTC! it was fun to climb this vulcano...
we are so lucky to have a gps with gave us many information and bring us to the best spots!!
thx for hiding

We found it together with SpeedyGT during our stay in Dunedin. TFTC and greetings from Czech republic!
We found it together with Simal on our small afternoon trip. TFTC and greetings from Czech republic!
Got quite quickly this time (second visit). The GPS signal was good today in contrast to our fruitless search in January. Nice and calm up by the pipes this evening with great views all round. TFTC
Looked for an hour using our new Garmin Dakota 20. No luck. Some of the fallen pipes look like they have just been moved and we wondered if the rwo Ch-Ch earthquakes might be responsible. An English geocacher had no luck just prior to our arrival also.
Took a wee bit of wandering around, because of the signal reflecting off the rocks, and the difficulty of watching the GPS and your feet at the same time.
Fantastic spot for a cache. With no GPS we did a fair bit of fossicking, but got there in the end.

Find #3 for me on a photography mish with my fiancé, we hadnt been up here before and he was under the impression you drove up lol.. Good workout on a full tummy to watch an amazing sunset! Cache was exactly where I thought it would be yay! TfTC!
With 2 caches based at this geological feature I just had to climb up and earn the smilies. The stair-walking I had to do up the first half of the track must surely have done wonders for my waist - I hope. The cache was a quick find at the second place I looked. OUT - Lumberjack Bear TB.
Took a bit of fossicking about but eventually found. Very interesting cache site and quite a few muggles
