DNFed this last year and nothing else has happened, perhaps should be checked by owner

17-Oct-22
Couldn't see anything and hasn't been found for over a year :/

14-Nov-21
Spent an excellent day with Keylev. Super wet day, soggy hiking boots but a boat load of caches to show for it!

Couldn't find this even with Keylev's help. Have a bad feeling the tide might have taken this away. Spent about 15 minutes here but had to move on.

10-Oct-21
No luck here today. On my first visit there were some people fishing on the beach at GZ, so had to come back later, after a good search was unable to come up with the cache.

09-Oct-21
First caching trip since the easing of covid restrictions have allowed it again - yay I've missed this!!

Quite a few people out here camping....didn't think that was allowed but guess they are all small little bubbles and not mixing with everyone else so why not.

Thanks for the cache.

09-Oct-21
Found with keylev.

Thanks for the cache

09-Oct-21
Found with keylev.

Thanks for the cache

09-Oct-21
Out on the peninsula with our expanded bubble and a few caches under Level 2.9 (or what ever this is!) had a great day out in the sun and this cache was a quick walk along the beach. The geo dog made a new friend and we made the find, win-win. TFTC!

18-Oct-20
Typical cachers we followed the gps and didn't read the description and realised we needed to head down to the beach. That rectified, a quick find was made

18-Oct-20
While MrsJAG was on the phone, Merlot found the cache in the first place she looked.

14-Oct-20
Lovely sunny peaceful day for a road trip.
Easy find ....Huge pine tree is also now horizontal just past the pohutukawa.
Must have been a spectacular fall....

10-Oct-20
As we approached we noticed there were a large group of campers very close to where we thought GZ was but fortunately we realised it wasn't quite where we thought and managed to find the cache undetected.
A beautiful area. Thanks cj.trex for bringing us here.

14-Mar-20
Quick find as was a bit too visible. Added a bit of camo.

29-Feb-20
Log book damp. Found it on my way to camping event nearby. TFTC

29-Feb-20
A bit harder at high tide, but I got it!

Thank you!

28-Aug-19
Found a small plastic clip container complete with log in a good spot but also a glass container with a chunk out of it above so assuming they go together have put both in the hidey hole. Be careful when retrieving. Tftc

23-May-19
Great place. Good day for it. Tftc

10-Apr-19
Found it!!! Satisfying since it hasn’t been found for almost a whole year! Log really needs replacing, but cache is ok. Definitely not a 2.5 terrain but found bird nest from previous find which helped. Needs a bit of maintenance but cool hide TFTC!

25-Aug-18
No luck today lovely beach tho many thanks

26-May-18
I was glad to see that the weather finally was going to be good today after a week full of rain and cold. So I made the decision to drive to Manukau heads and visit a couple of Geocaches. I could find them all except for one and I really enjoyed the beautiful landscapes out in nature!
I needed a while to find the well hidden Cache here!
Thanks for hiding this one!

05-Mar-18
A nice sandy stroll and a nice find

21-Jan-18
Plan for this weekend to visit Awhitu Peninsula Never been in this area before except Waiuku.
Met up with fellow cachers from Huntly on Friday night and travelled up on Saturday morning. Plan to start at bottom and work up.+ Cachers were signed with the team name HRT being first letter of our home towns (Huntly, Rotorua, Tauranga)
Generally caches were good but some a little damp, others requiring reading descriptions, hints and other cachers comments to make finds.
As the day went on we realised we would have to return the next day to complete, so this made it a Saturday & Sunday mission.
Weather was great and some amazing sites visited.
Wish to thank all CO's for caches placed. Great trip. SLTFTC

21-Jan-18
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), ABCDF4, and eyespyben... For convenience, we group signed the logs H(untly) R(otorua) T(auranga) (or P(apamoa), depending on who signed and how heat-addled we were at the time...) We've been planning a raid on the Awhitu Peninsula for some time, with a view to clearing the area of caches... It's time to execute this mission.

Day Two: A great location for a picnic on any other day... TFTC.

Nice find with the family

07-Dec-17
Nice hide

07-Dec-17

23-Nov-17
After disturbing some campers, GeoRick and I found the right way to GZ. We only found half o the hint, and after re-reading some logs, we found a miniature version of the promised cache. TFTC.

23-Nov-17
Out for a great days caching with Agazo on a sunny day. Found the cache well tucked away. A little smaller than expected. Came across a nest with young birds in it just above the cache. Nice hide. Thanks cj.tex.

30-Jul-17
A beautiful day, so I decided to go for a drive around the peninsular and grab a few easy drivebys and walkbys. Thanks.

04-Jul-17
We were out and about on this fine day and thought of finding a cache Wink . We parked near GZ and walked over. Their weren't too many muggles about today so searching for the cache was easy Big Grin . After 10 minutes of searching we found the sneaky cache Razz . Thanks for the cache cj.trex.TFTC!!! SmileSmile

28-Apr-17
2938 Decided to do a little trip around the peninsula with my non caching daughter. Tide was in so decided on the high road. On making our way down to the beach she jumped the last little bit only to land and sprain an ankle. While she waited in pain I went and made the find. Thankfully as I would not have been popular should I have to post a DNF and she have a sore ankle. After signing I checked out the water and we were able to make our way back to the grass that way. It probably did her ankle some good to be in the cold water. This though ended the little trip.

10-Apr-17
On a sea kayak down thw coast. TFTC

16-Oct-16
Being high tide I decided to take the high route to GZ. Getting down to sealevel was a slight challenge but got there in the end. Took a bit of searching but found it in the end. Taken the TB as its been sitting here too long. TFTC

16-Jul-16
TB Drop, Log to Follow

16-Jul-16
Today was a chance to go caching with Mrs Dragon. It doesn't happen that often as the places that I tend to go are often too wild and rugged for her. As it turned out many of these roads we travelled it was a case of us both enjoying the drive, the countryside and stormy windy weather, and I going to retreive the cache.
Nevermind was still a day full of memories that make up caching.

This was the twentith of the day after passing through Waiuku heading for Awhitu Peninsula and South Head, it was now time to start heading back down the other side of the peninsula. Parked at the required location and quickly made my way to the GZ. Looking at passed logs and comments I was unsure what I was going to be up against but fortunatly managed to locate in first spot and took a moment to enjoy the view before heading back up to Mrs Dragon waiting with the car.

Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

16-Feb-16
#11630. We had a nice short walk from the car park, and got on to the beach in the right spot. It took a while to locate the cache. TFTC.

16-Feb-16
The weather forecast for the next few days is for rain, so we decided that today would be the best day to drive up the Awhitu Peninsula to the Manukau Heads. This is an area that neither of us had visited before and it was an interesting journey.
The tide was half in when we arrived so we were able to easily access GZ without getting our feet wet. Cache took a bit of tracking down but we got there in the end and were the first to sign the new log book. TFTC.

This one gave us some trouble, eventually found it

28-Dec-15
The sixth find of the day, with Kakesnz, okayness, and Dor. Another horizontal Christmas tree nearby offered some cool old winches, or something? Had some fun on the slide too. Thanks for the cache!

28-Dec-15
On a daytrip around the Awhitu Peninsula with Okayness, Snarsha & Dor. Took a little bit of searching. As previously mentioned, log is wet so added a new one in a new plastic bag which hopefully will stay dry. #7 today. TFTC

31-Oct-15
Took a bit of searching but found it. Log is damp took time to ensure snap lock bag closed properly but inside container also damp. Wiped out but think it might need some sun

18-Jun-15

28-Jan-15
FINALLY NAILED IT!!. This has been on our books for a number of years, with a previous DNF. Today we had Kittycat432 and Godfreyh eqagle eyes as well, but Mr Dandh put his hand on it, just as Godfreyh said it cant be it there. Not what i call a 500 ml container, but then some of my caches have also change size over the years. TFTC

26-Jan-15
Dad just going through a few I have found but not logged. Doandhopers napped it with, while grandpa (godfrey h) and Mrs Dnh and I were still searching it. Nice hide TFTC and sorry for late log.

02-Dec-14
easy find, TFTC

04-Nov-14
This one had two recent trackables sitting there, so whilst we were in the area decided to help them move along.
Found the first part of the clue straight forward, but locating the cache was a little tricky... our longest search for the night, but we weren't going to give up.

Just when I was going to call a DNF on this one we made the discovery... very nice hide.

Took 1 x trackable .

04-Nov-14
After a trek to find a few FTF's in the area, Mr HeMaLuDy and Mr Stik-a-crane couldn't resist attempting this one on the way home as there were some trackables dropped off recently. After much searching in the dark - almost longer than the previous 3 caches combined, the cache was finally discovered, the trackables collected, log signed and they called it a night. Home by midnight - just!

05-Oct-14
We are on a holiday in New Zealand and we wanted to find cache. So we went for a look with our friends and we found this cache and it is special because it is my hundreds founded cache !!

17-Aug-13
Was delayed by cattle crossing the road just up from the cache as I got here, the second time I had to wait for cattle to cross on a road today. Made my way to GZ and took a bit of time searching before finally uncovering the rather well hidden cache. Thanks!

04-Aug-13
Have found this little treasure, nicely hidden. Have left a new log in the container.
Nice beach, will remind this spot as it is now allowed to park overnight with the campervan here.

Awesome tftc.

13-Jul-12
Out and about this evening with Lostcourse and FMZ on our way up the Awhitu Peninsular. We arrived at the parking spot and made the short walk along the coastline to GZ. On arrival we spotted both hint items and had a search around the particular area. Cache is definately still there as not long after, i had the cache in hand. TFTC! Big Grin

13-Jul-12
Out this way tonight with lostcourse and mike-miss, and planning to meet up with rosmar, for an FTF attempt on the nearby new Treasure Island cache - I mean what better thing to do on a cold night than to go for a walk across the mudlfats in the Manukau Harbour! Anyway, we followed someone else's fresh footsteps in the sand all the way to this cache, and that gave us the sinking feeling that someone else had been out this way today and the Treasure Island FTF might be gone. Anyway, despite the footsteps leading straight to the cache, when we found it and opened it up, there had been no visitors for a while. I guess the other visitor today could not find this cache! Well, great spot for the cache - TFTC!!! Big Grin

13-Jul-12
Out and about with FMZ and MM tonight for a Geocaching Madness Mission. Thought we would grab some caches on our way. Well, this wasn't really on our way, but we had some time to kill before low tide. Straight forward find in the end. Plenty of mud. Cheers for the cache!

24-Jun-12
tryed and tryed but light failed and had to give up
be back for another go when the rain stops.

22-Jan-12
Found at last! have tried previously with no success so satisfying to find it. Contents a little damp. TFTC

04-Jan-12
Was in the area visiting some friends, so I thought I'd make a quick (?) detour and grab this one. Quick find, nice place. Tide was out, and no-one was on the beach.

06-Dec-11
The boys of the team were camping nearby so made the effort to find this cache. Always nice to pick up some of those older caches as well. TFTC

13-Jun-11
Sad[:o] Searched everywhere but no luck with Crazy Kea and friends. Muggled or washed away?

11-Jun-11
Had four of us searching hard but didn't find it. lots of evidence of kids around here so it may have been muggled.

13-Feb-11
Decided to return after yesterday arriving and mugglers fishing near GZ, came again via Kayak from clarks beach and was a great morning on the water.
T4TC

10-Jan-11
7 Days ago it was a picnic scene, muggles to left and right. Today, almost exactly 7 days later it's muggle free and what a difference, free to prod and poke, kneel, crouch, climb, peek and peer, stretch, and fondle. Eventually there it was. I was also fooled a bit by the size description. Label on the bottom of cache says 125ml. Nice place for a cache, thanks.

03-Jan-11
Being great weather on a public holiday, two muggles families were encamped either side of the target tree. However, did a reasonable search and missed it. I'll return on miserable day when muggles will be indoors.

19-May-10
It was about time this one had another visitor.
Don't know why I went up the hill first if the cache description mention a beach walk.
Quick find at GZ.
TFTC

11-Oct-09
Lovely day for discovering new places. Humans and dog both enjoyed the beach stroll. Thanks.

03-Oct-09
On high tide and got our feet and knees wet! Will try low tide next time and admire the mudflats with better of finding it with dry feet. Good spot. Will 'watch' the cache to see if anyone else finds/doesn't find it.

21-Oct-07
We drove down into the playground, then in my haste, went to gz via the top of the cliff. ZTold Mrs Wonder my mistake and back we went, did a big leap on to the beach and spotted a couple walking towards me....muggles?.... went ahead, tied shoe lace, carried on, and got to gz. Spotted the couple aproach....then the male stopped, and came straight towards me.... oh no, a questioning muggle!. no no...it was Nedd.... pleased to meet him, rehide the cache for him....had a quick chat...then we were off.

TFTC!!

21-Oct-07
Not a bull in sight! On approaching GZ, a man on a mission leapt down the bank before us (was he looking for a lost dog?) and proceeded in haste to the point. I called snap as we caught him up at the coordinates. None other than TWS, who soon had the cache in hand. Good to meet! TNLN, cheers!

20-Oct-07

Fifth cj.trex cache for today. Initially, fooled by the size of the container, was looking for something much bigger, but got there in the end.

Dragged my family out to find our first cache. This is just a road away from where we live so a good one for us to start with. We are only using our Nokia phones but they were spot on. In mini pack of cards Out soap SL TFTC

26-Jun-06
We kinda wished we had a boat with these ones, but the drive was nice. Spent a bit of time looking for a bigger container, but found it, left soap and malaysian coins.
