Checked on the cache today.
It is missing. It's good to see so many new caches in the Karamea area.
This old one has seen better days so is being archived.

First of the day. A quick find once we read the logs and got the updated hint. TFTC.
Once we chased up the updated hint it was a quick find. My first trip to this part of the country. Some real beaty spots round here. I'm sure I'll be back. TFTC, Biggles.
Container had an inch of water inside. Tipped out and dried as much as we could. Log bok ok.TFTC.
Over on the Westcoast for the weekend.Came up here to find it We are glad we did,as we may never be this way again for quite sometime.TFTC
Found this while in Westport for the weekend. Had a nice talk to Pip the manager as had stayed here before.Very wet.TFTC.
[Cache easily found, as it was sitting right in the middle of a bare patch of dirt! It looked like some gardening had been done around the area, so the original place was no longer a good spot to hide the cache. The cache also had a large number of school students (muggles) writing in it. So I have moved the cache slightly. It's new coordinates are: S41 15.047 E172 07.043, and a new hint] base of fence post
A bit tricky to find as gps lost signal but the clue helped overcome the problem.

The cache was found in a real manky state with the logbook saturated and everything wet. Threw away all the manky stuff, dried the hard objects, left new ziploc, logbook, pencil, sharpener and silica gel. All good for another little while.
Stopped by for lunch while on our way to Oparara. Nice and sheltered from the Sou'wester. A bit of cache creep has occurred unless 2 comes before 1 on the Coast

Found it okay. Made sure it was better covered than when we found it. 'Adrift' was with us. The paper pad hadn't been put back in the plastic bag so it was some what damp. 'The Italian Job' was here.............thanks
After I stayed a night at the campground the cache was easily found. TFTC MacBanger
Looked for it, but had no luck! Place looks more like a playground at the moment, maybe some kids muggeled it?!
I had to empty some water out of the cache and it really needs to be dried out. Bouncing some coins and a TB through.
Pleased to find this one as it the most northerly cache on the West Coast it would seem at this point in time. TFTC.
GPS led us to GZ on this rainy day of summer.Wish there were more caches in the area. TFTC
Quick find with some friends who were fascinated by the geocaching. Maybe some new converts.
The cache was very wet. Tipped the water out and tried dry it a little.

Nice place to do some sports. Cache was found pretty fast.
There was a soft rain, so we could carry our shoes - nice feeling.
Thanks for the place, we had never been without geocaching.

Very easy find, a metre out from where we expected it. Cache was very wet, with 2cm of water in it. Drained it, dried it in the sun, removed some swag to the bin, changed the oversized bags for smaller ones.
Log book was dry - whew! Added some swag and replaced cache at the base of hint item.
Lovely spot, only about a dozen campers today.

had two very good searches for this cache on two diffrent days ( it looks like some one else has also had a good look as the tracks are well worn ) my GPS took me to the same place. I tried it from diffrent angles but always ended up the same spot ( checked the clue and it matches the site OK ) even checked all the other in a 20 meters circle from GZ looks to me like its gone
Easy find once I figured out what public area it was in. I'm a bit late logging this one and I see kiwi-nomad couldn't find it just a few days later but I'd be really surprised if it had been muggled in just that time as Karamea was pretty quiet at the time.
Nice easy find but hard not to look suspicious in such a wide open space especially with several people camping nearby.

Quick stop to follow the pressed down grass to the cache while staying nearby
After walking the 82km Heaphy Track in 6 days, we stayed at the Last Resort. We got up the next morning to head home. But before we did, we found this cache. The domain groundskeeper came out to see what we were doing. We felt we had to give her a brief idea of what were were doing so she didn't think we were up to no good. She told us she had talked to some other people who stopped by the domain with a GPS. When we got close to the cache site, we saw a heavily trampled area - a giveaway others had preceded us. The coords were right on. Mr Early Rizer found this on his birthday.

2.40pm. No muggles today - perhaps because it was raining ! Easy find and educative hunt with some non-geocacher friends.

Well we got back from 'The End of the Road' to find that the coast was reasonably clear for a search however this was abandoned due to very thick under growth of ivy about knee to thigh deep which was hiding other thingy's which were scratching Mrs W (who had volunteered to help)and JimR our driver for the day who was working on a throbbing tooth ache.So off we went hoping to find some 'Concrete booties'
Second visit of the day.
quite funny to see a camp site next to the rugby grounds of a school!
Took little car and left teddy bear.
