Searched for a bit but could not locate the cache in the endmight be a lack of skill, or the cache might have been a victim of the almighty floods of Auckland. Nonetheless a beautiful spot to be on a sunny Sunday!
Had a good look around but considering the recent flooding in Auckland and how the area here was impacted I suspect it was washed away...
Out for some geocaching to nite.
Was a little worried about the cach after the recent rain
But it turns out I was worried for nothing.
Cach is safe and dry and igot to listen to 2 more porks having a hoot off and find a cute little short fin eal in one of the creeks.
Thanks for on this adventure.

Tftc very good cache for beginners, hint was helpful
Good to find a large cache like this, was low on swag so I put some in

Had to walk much further than expected, but it was very nice and an easy find.
Picked this one for my cache of the day due to its size and age and since I was in Glenfield this afternoon. No TBs in residence today but the container is in great condition... getting to it meant my shoes are covered in mud, but that's what I get for coming just after it's rained. TFTC!
Easy big box to find was a big of a walk to get there but it was fun nonetheless!
Geohound lived up to his name and actually sniffed this one out, although he was a bit excited at the thought of bugs and ran a bit far to start with. He was impressed with the onsite swimming facilities, although the water was looking a bit murky tonight.
There were a couple of creepie crawlie bugs trying to gain access to the Travel Bug Hotel.

Heading back towards the car, via a number of cache options and fading daylight. This was the furthest along this track I wanted to head and soon arrived at GZ. A quick reach under and the prize was mine, all good here.
A busy week this week. I have 5 five-days that I want to improve numbers on and a real desire to get out and about now that the rain has abated a little bit. After finishing the Lab cache circuit at Hobby yesterday I was keen to push a little further afield and was looking to try and beat the traffic by leaving work a little early too. As it was I managed a pleasing double figure haul today and some new areas visited. T F T C all COs

A very big container but not a single trackable waiting to be discovered. Made Phil get dirty knees for this one. TFTC
12th find of the day with PhilBirdBoys and Gernita. No trackables in the spa today. Tftc.
Over shot GZ as Gernita where navigating and talking at the same time, not a multi Tasker.
Looked at hint and soon had cache in hand

Family walk out, great to find the hotel. Had a quick stay even in lock down, great black out curtains to keep hidden from he light.
This was a great one to get nice and easy. Had more of a challenge getting into the box than locating the cache but part of the experience. Always a good time finding these with bapboy1996 as well
Got out this afternoon for a quick walk before the rain came! And good timing on this one too.
Getting to the cache was harder than retrieving the cache itself - Telesia got the find here. Unfortunately didn't have my trackable with me, so will have to be back at a later date.
TFTC!

Found! With 7m gps error but clear himself helped. No log book so signed the pokemon card we left.
Wow, was definitely in the wrong area, don’t rely on the gps as is so-so. Love the description for this though bugs worry me but clearly much time put into this one which is lovely!
Today we decided to visit a new area in Auckland. Targeted area was Glenfield.
Caches were generally well hid and terrain a bit more up and down than expected.
In fact some of the caches were real beauties, nothing to do with geocacher, in particular whose name slips my mind. (just kidding).
met up with fellow caches from Huntly.
Logs logged as Team HRP (home towns for us Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa
Great day. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), ABCDF4, and eyespyben... Signed logs as Team H (Huntly) R (Rotorua) P (Papamoa). We are on the Shore as Gap has a small event to attend later in the morning... There is good news and bad news... The good news is that there are lots of 'Battle of the Bridge' caches to find on this side of the Harbour. The bad news is most of them are G2 caches - These hides are always a bit more challenging and take time to find...
We had an ambitious plan to walk and cache along part of the Glenfield Coastal Walkway - From Kaipatiki Road to Bay View Road. Our Huntly friends brought their e-bikes along, but there wasn't much call for them given the terrain. We encountered lots of stairways as we climbed in and out of many gullies. We were pleased to find most of the caches - some were more challenging than others... It was exciting to find a big sized cache, though there wasn't much inside. We pondered over leaving some travellers in this TB hotel, but the rusty discolouration of the box told its own story. Thanks Zork V and TFTC.

Another nice find along this track - a very nice walk today, saw four kereru on the walk or rather heard them and then looked and spotted all four sitting in a tree.
Kereru were a nice diversion but they weren't the object of the trip so had a hunt and quickly found the nice and big cache here. No tbs at home today and didn't have one on me to drop but signed in to the log and replaced as found.
Nice to see such a big cache has survived such a long time here - what fourteen years? Good stuff.
Thanks for the cache, all good here.

GPS on this track was terrible, signal kept bouncing around, didn't find anything on the track!
Made it our mission to pick up the Echidna TB today. Quite a hard geocache to access but nice bushwalk on the way. We got the TB much the delight of the junior geocacher. The TB will be sent on his way soon for new adventures.
After walking in circles going down a closed track crossing a river we finally found the correct track. Kinda like railroad track lol. Big tiger slug guarding it.
I had decided it was about time to complete this coastal walk, as the weather was really nice. Glad I didn't attempt this in the wetter months! Armed with my pack and a large scooter, for the ride back to the car, hefted on my shoulder I headed out.
I found this in the first spot I looked. All nice and dry.

Was in the area and this sounded interesting. Thank you

Out and about today to find some caches for the "Hidden creatures" challenge. This TB-Hotel is huge, but empty. No TB in the spa. What a pity. An easy find never the less, but a little too moist for TB's to feel cozy I guess. Probably more a summer residence. Found together with Greenkiwikids and signed as Piraten. TFTC
I ended with a geocaching trip alone today; The children stayed at home, and the wife out bicycling. The plan was to walk a bit further, but... most of the caches I found required some searching and pondering. Hints and spoilerpictures are necessities for more of these caches I would say.
Nice day according to the weather forecast - not that it mattered: The bush was wet and muddy.
14 finds and 3 dnfs was the result. Great trip, thanks for the caches and the maintenance.

Nice walk on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a couple of AS Birkenhead Scouts. Good condition cache.
Today the rain was hosing down and after finding a number of other nearby caches we were soaking wet but made an effort to look for this one before heading home.
It's a shame there were no travel bugs in attendance but it's always nice to find an older cache, especially one in such good condition.
Thanks ZorkV, we love this walkway and will be back soon to explore it further when things are a bit drier.

I love finding these hotels. First one in NZ and really only found one other in Waikiki but love the idea and finding a large cache. There were no TB's in this one despite the cache saying so. Good condition and the boardwalk wasn't too slippery. Cheers
Other than my GPS insisting that this cache was a few metres up the track, no problems with this find at 1500Hr on 01 Nov 2017
Definitely not a 2.0 difficultly. Easy peats and the biggest cache we’ve found so far
We planned to come over to this area earlier in the week with the aim of collecting our most caches in one day.enjoyed our walk in this nice reserve.very muddy at the moment.surprised at the size of this cache one of the biggest we have found.
Out with KirsTim today for a walk through these tracks, collecting all the caches along these tracks. After a quick lunch break, we briefly separated from KirsTim for a little detour through here to grab these finds. This was a straightforward find here. Thanks for the cache!
What a wonderfully large cache. Walked right past it first time, before doubling back.
Great to see its lasted the test of time so well, TFTC

Did the coastal walk with beconaze and onawe today, to celebrate onawe moving into the district. I was kneeling right next to it before I realised what I had my hands on. No travel bugs to pick up today. We signed log BRO
Out for a few hours geocaching with RWIMF and Onawe. This was out first for the day. Big mission find a park for the car and access. Finally on our way. Wrong way. 2nd attempt wrong way. 3rd attempt correct way. Soon had this one in hand but unfortunately no TB's currently staying in the hotel. Thanks Zork
There were no travel bugs enjoying themselves at the spa today. I had just finished signing the log when a jogger passed by, it was a bit difficult to hide this good sized cache so hopefully she thought it was my lunchbox
Found as we strolled along this lovely bush track - sadly no trackables in residence today.
A great reason to carry on the stroll through the bush. A nice easy find for Master 4. Guests checked in and out. TFTC, Papa Drylie.
