Followed the driving track straight instead of left to the crash site. A bit of a bumpy drive. May not suite lower vehicles. Cache found without too much trouble. In good condition. TFTC.
Quick find here. Not much plane here.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the sixth day of Augustus Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was so hot. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. Found on a trip from Adelaide to the top end with Freddo for a few weeks.A quick find. Cache container and contents were in good condition. Thanks GeoWombats for the cache.
TFTC,Just had a look at the map to see which caches we would do today and noticed this find didn't go through.Gathering some of NT's oldest 20 and challenge caches, visited trackables and added a favourite
Very surprised that the container has survived the burn off's. All good, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO
A nice older cache in here to find. Came in to see the wreck so explored a bit more. Not surprising to see a fire right through the cache area but the cache was safe and sound.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT.Now with a detour to Thursday Island, Mabuiag Island, Mornington Island and finally along the Savannah Way through Hells Gate, then Nhulunbuy and Wadeye.TFTC. A nice drive and hike to this old cache. A bit of trouble turning the van around but all is good for a camp in this burnt out post apocalyptic landscape. After camp was set up took a walk up the track another 100m to find a great turn around spot, many camp sites amd beautiful grassy swamp.
Ocw the Bebes as we spend the day visiting Waiget Beach and stop for caches on the way. Nice easy drive to within 20m of the cache. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Heading to Mandorah today, caching along the way.A nice detour into this bush for this one. Not quite the lavender anmo can I was expected but a lovely location nonetheless.Tftc
Nice easy find when arriving at gz although cache is no longer an ammo tin. The NT bushland is stunning. Tftc
Travelling with richlink on a trip from Perth to Darwin and return. Today, we are riding Route34 looking for scenery, history, and caches. Thanks, GeoWombats, we made a quick find here.
In Darwin with iluvtrekking for a revisit after eleven years. Beautiful weather and a great day to be out caching. Headed to the Cox Peninsula to do the Route 34 series and others along the way. Thanks GeoWombats
We called and grabbed I think all of the ones in this area as it was a bit of a drive to get here, we got this one as we moved West now we had done with those in Wagait.
This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.
Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.
We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.
Thanks for the cache.

We were excited to head out to see the plane wreck (and find the two nearby caches of course). This was the first of the two we visited. The cache hide was quite obvious from the track so we had no trouble finding it.
Thanks GeoWombats
Our Northern Territory journey began in Darwin around 3am after a very delayed flight. We drove as far north as Fresh Water Camp (northeast of Darwin), followed by a loop to Liberated Cox (out to the west) and Litchfield National Park returning to Darwin. We then headed south with overnight stops at Katherine, Daly Waters and Devils Marbles before reaching our southernmost accommodation at Erldunda. From here we did a day trip to Lamberts Gravitational Centre on onward past Finke. Our last couple of days were in Alice Springs with a side trip via Hermannsburg and Glen Helen, all up covering just under 3800km. My thanks to all the COs with hides throughout the territory for helping make our trip so enjoyable.

Today we went for a drive to explore out the Wagait Beach area and to collect the Route 34 caches along the way. We were surprised that cache was still there after the burning off in the area. TFTC
This one was in poor shape but its worth driving out to the wreck.
Out caching with Irondale today and we decided to go all the way from Darwin CBD to wagait beach. I had made a list of caches starting from berry springs which was closed for swimming unfortunately up to the wrecked plane west of wagait.
It was a successful day with all but two caches found.
This one was found ok. TFTC

Staying out at Bynoe for a few weeks we decided to venture out and discover this area, the cache was found easily enough but I fear for its safety as during the next fire or wet season its likely to be destroyed, I couldn't see anywhere else logical to put it other than the location I found it in. TFTC
After visiting the nearby World War II historic plane wreck, The Liberator, we decided to come cross country to this one.
Despite it being winter, it was a hot but beautiful walk.
Given this one is a small plastic container on the ground, it is likely to go missing if there is another fire here.
Thanks GeoWombats for this old find.

Found at 4:20:00 PM(t) GAFF1.
Last cache for the day and this area as well - very pretty country with lovely ferns growing from the after burn of the bush. Cache found in a very exposed spot which will probably disappear in the next burn off.
Thanks GeoWombats.
Feedback: The cache container is no longer an ammo regular - it is a "SMALL" plastic container.

We decided to stay at Wagait Beach last night with ilook4geo and continued the caching this morning as we headed off again. We found all the caches we looked for this time and were pleased to find that maintenance had been done recently on some by fellow cachers. Thanks go to GeoWombats for placing this cache. All was in good order here.
The caching hunt went on today with goignplaces2 as we headed towards Darwin. It was an interesting time with some easy finds and some finds that took quite a bit of walking to get to GZ. All logs were signed and returned to place. TFTC.
Easy find, picked up some tourists walking in. Introducing them to the world of geocaching.
A great trip out in the remote areas of the Northern Territory.
We enjoyed all the back tracks to get to this one, this is why we we enjoy geocaching, it gets us out to these rather interesting places.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful Bush location.

With some time to kill SJG66 and I dumped the camper at Tumbling Waters and headed up the Cox Peninsula to do this series. Thanks for bringing us here. The view of Darwin over the water was well worth it. TFTC.
Found with Kittykatch today. We enjoyed the drive out to get this one

Track in was ok and easy to get to. A short walk in off the track. Took a torch as suggested but cache didn’t need it as it has obviously changed over the time. Log signed and all back safe again.
Thanks for this old cache.

Found on our mini geo tour today while in Darwin for work. No torch or stuck required. Left a pathtag. I think it’s great that these geo’s are scattered everywhere to give us something to do on our days off. TFTC
The geohubby has gone south for the grandbaby's first birthday, leaving me to my own devices. The perfect opportunity to attack the cache's along the Cox Peninsula Rd. Had visited the crash site before but somehow missed this cache - happily rectified today. All in good order. TFTC GeoWombats.
Today Pa was incredible - chauffeuring me along Cox Peninsula Road as we continue our wandering around northern Australia after attending the Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs over Easter. I had planned on hunting for 20 caches and managed to find them all plus an extra that I really didn't think was a possibility. Some were quick DIDOs, others were absolutely mind blowing in that they took so much patience to find and others took us to the most amazing areas teaching us history that we were never taught in school.
Many thanks to all the COs who have placed any of these caches for us to find and enjoy. My name was added to the og as either Smittengranny, stamped or as SG in the small logs to save space.
Still travelling NT after the Red Centre Experience but now moving towards Birdsville in QLD for the Big Red Bash. Staying overnight at Tumbling waters so a day out exploring the Cox Peninsula today.

On our way to visit the old downed aircraft and noticed this one along the way. Drove up the track right to the cache location. We were a bit sceptical that the cache would still be intact, as the surrounding bush had been recently burnt. No tall grass to walk through. Found the cache easily, and it was all in good condition. TFTC
Today we had a big day of caching along the Cox Peninsula Road into Mandorah and beyond.
A nice quick find although the cache container is now somewhat different to the description.

Today's mission is to cache the Cox Peninsular Road. This is close in comparison to Darwin. BF DeFCoN_6 & I departed home @ 6:20am And are now at cache #9. It's not a competition (who am I kidding - YES it is!). Thx GeoWombats
Today we explored Cox Peninsula and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found GZ but as mentioned in previous logs, has been devastated by bush fires. Replaced cache (hope that is ok) as didn't want our South African friend to miss out on a smiley after the great distance she had travelled. Thanks for bringing us out here. Had known about the site for some time, but took a cache to get us here!
Spent the day in Mandorah and Waiget Beach, had several set to find. I think the Muggles of Mandorah were against us...because...
the site near the Liberator had recently had bushfires through. We found were GZ had obviously been, and there was definitely no sign of a lavender painted ammo tin. The "obvious" was now reduced to ground level - so we did not need the hinted articles. We did, however find a green/yellow cats eye marble close by.
Wombat the Anthus laptop Geocoin visited, as did Runcible's Grasshopper, a Slovak Geocoin 2012, doc marten, and a man and his dog, a moose and a mammoth who wants to see sheep

Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.

Out for a day with Windy 05 to find some caches. The main objective was Liberated Cox but managed to find this one as well. T4TC
Think the hiding place may be disturbed base on the hint. But anyway easy find.
# 3478. Having a lovely two week holiday in Darwin with Robmc - visiting friends, enjoying the warm weather and finding caches.
On the way to Mandorah for lunch and picking up some caches on the way there and on the way back. We are on the way to visit the Liberator when I notice this one nearby - we have to visit it as I am Libby and may never again get to visit a cache that is actually my name. A nice easy find as the ant's nest is getting smaller and smaller. TNLN TFTC.

Drove out to Mandorah for lunch at the pub (and a DNF! with Bettyboo3747 and some Territorian friends, collecting a few caches on the way.
I hadn't realised that I had found this cache before - I certainly didn't recognize the area, as it was all burnt out the last time I was here.
Still a very good sized cache though.
Thanks, Robmc.

Cache not so lavender anymore. Quite funny actually. Walking around GZ with the GPS, looking off in the distance all around wondering where the cache may be and how off the coords would be then and almost tripped over the cache.
