Should've retrieved it when I said I would... (I went past a couple of times but there were roadworks going on that made parking a bit dicey.)
Well, a (suspected) arsonist has removed the cache for me, as well as many hectares of bush.
There was a bit of white ash that might have been the cache, but nothing recognisable at all.

This has served its purpose and is about to be retired (1DEC06), so if it's on your to-do list, this would be the time to do it!

Its been on the list for a long time but we just dont have the free time to get out and hunt like we would like to. Today was one of the few free days we get and it was getting near lunchtime so we ended up near the fast food shops of Kalamunda. Perfect for us to feed ourselves and start decoding the clues. We made quick work of both even if we looks suspicious running around the gumleaves with a tape measure and being in a park full of family picnics with Binoculars on a Saturday morning. It was fun though. We later drove out and found the cache. Took the Frog fridge magnet and added the Velcro cable ties.
Worked out all the coordinates with Biggles303, GeoGma & Kwispi over a week ago, but couldn't get back to finish this off until today. Unfortunately Kwispi & Biggles303 were not around today to share in the find & the final terrain was a bit too daunting for 81yo GeoGma, so she had wait in the car, while GeoSpouse & I found the cache.

PS A 'typical spot' for WA is definitely not the same as a typical spot in the ACT! This had us looking in the wrong location to start with.

Rated: for Overall Experience
Finally got back to finish this cache and found it not far from where I looked the first time but it still didn't match the coordinates I had written down.
Thanks Bear_Left for the cache. No swaps.
I've now completed all the current WA caches for Bear_Left.

Finally got the measuring right except I didn't measure f and picked 9.
At the moment if you do decide to do this cache I'd find the final on a Sunday or after the workmen knock off. I nearly got up close and personal with an excavator loading sand in a truck yesterday.

After trying a quick visit some weeks ago but not sure of the coordinates produced I tried again today after checking each of the waypoints again. Came up with the same coordinates but didn't find the cache.
Found cache... no probs. Known the area for years. Thanks.
Took tape measure - left 'fish in bottle', 4WD truck and our calling card. Thanks BearLeft. 13:30

One I wanted to visit yesterday while there was a GPSr at hand to compare it and my GZ search on May 20/21. Maybe I'll do that when I eventually get one of my own.
Anyway, found the cache in a place I'd not previously searched mainly due to the fact I didn't see it from my GZ on that occasion even though I searched a similar spot that was within 5m.

First attempt: went to south of the creek to check (test in the water) one night after completed the codes – felt not confidence in that one. Second attempt: did homework with altered coorinds and went to the reserve (north of the creek) where there are the same object, for a test – believed this is a place where the cache is most likely hidden somewhere. Emailed to Bear_Left for checking the calculation. Replied back with corrections of 3 out of 6. Went back to recheck the numbers. One of them, I went and re-measured the gumnut in the middle of road in the broaden daylight. Walked back to the parked vehicle carrying a measure tape and a note, a young nice bloke from the Shire approached me and queried my doing. He intrigued and took the website address after introduced the geocaching. Sent another email to Bear_Left with answers for confirmation. Was told that I were getting very closer. Now we have two different coorinds – one of them I believed is more appropriate closer one was at north of the creek with the given clue of the same object. Decided to call a friend to compare the coorinds from the site of north of the creek. I was wrong and the second coorinds was in south of the creek which I have already on my paper. Next morning went and climbed up from the road and found it quickly. T: Lens cleaning cloth and L: Boxing Roo Pen. Thanks for a difficult challenge and hunt, Bear_Left
Found this one on a day caching with Wayne (TRR), we worked out all of the clues but the last one had us riveted, not one of us was going to go to close and we had to work out a couple of different answers, we settled on one and headed off.
Finding just the right road to take us where we wanted was another trek but we got there, once we walked up to GZ my gps had a 20mtr difference to Wayne's and we spent some time searching all places with no luck, after a while Wayne saw my keying error and we then both had the same GZ.
So we started to search all over agian and within about 10 min we had it found, the co-ords seem out by my gps and we found it down hill from GZ.
All in all a very good cache.
Thanks, Bears

Found in company with Andrew (GP) after searching around GZ for quite some time. We agree that the coords appear to be about 10 mtrs out, but still close enough to be found. T: cd, L: poncho. Thanks Bear_Left for the cache and the fun.
Oh well...had to be content to be third to find on this one! Nice idea though, and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Finding the cache was quite a challenge though with co-ords being about 10 metres out...had us searching for well over half an hour!
TNLN, thanx for the hunt.

Checked logs early this morning and cache still not found yet! There was still a chance of a FTF. Headed back out to what what by now was becoming very familiar territory to pick up from where I left off on Friday.
Went over the same ground as before and a little further and struck gold - a virgin cache. Wasn't getting the best accuracy figures up there today and my GPSr on the day had cache about 7-8 metres from calculated GZ.
Savoured the FTF moment whilst enjoying the pleasant location and views.
Thanks Bear_Left
Took: FTF Reward & Laser Light
Left: Lens Cleaning Cloth & Boxing Kangaroo Keyring
Dropped Off: "Aussie Spirit #1" TB (figured I'd shown a little of the spirit myself in finding this one)

Damm you Paddyk (only kidding) missed the FTF certificate by 2 hours. Headed out this morning with the kids so we will blame them for walking so slowly. Got a little wet at one stage great multicache thanks Bear left.
took light clip and TB Aussie Spirit
left Triangluar bandage and robot magnet.

I've done the groundwork and plotted my coords, but after looking at the terrain/features at the potential GZ, not having a suitable attack point (nearest is 125m away)and not knowing what a "typical spot" for a BL cache might be(I've heard rumours of his sneekiness), I've decided to put this in the post-GPSr-purchase tray.
This was meant to be an early morning FTF birthday present but after a lot of searching I came up empty handed and contacted papa Bear to check my calculations. Seems all was not well with the co-ords and I'd been looking in the wrong spot.
It was not until much later in the day after rechecking my calculations up in Kalamunda and on the cache page that I could give it another shot. GZ looked much more promising this time around but I was beaten by the failing light and headed home again empty handed.

Congratulations to Paddyk for joining the (not very) exclusive ranks of Bear_Left Betatesters!
Yes, there was a thinko, with 'A' and 'B' swapped. The page and GPX file have now been corrected, so please reprint (dead tree) or reload (PDA/laptop) your listing.
