As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Was looking up caches available in the area for a possible future trip. Seems this hasn't been found for several months and the owner hasn't been active for some time.
So flagging this for possible reviewer action, seems an awful long way to go not to find a cache, and the DNF's are from people experienced enough to probably find it if it was still there.

No luck here today. Found a great spot on the alternative co-ords provided and thought we'd hit pay dirt with a container in residence, but not a cache container! Certainly have to be careful of all the traps.
DNF, searched high and low far and wide.. even used the alternative coordinates provided in the logs. Looks like a lot of traps in the area too.
#55 - After completing Yeetrees' Hole in the rock earthcache. Only after substantially widening the search did we find it. Clue is open to interpretation. For those with confusing co-ordinates try these: S41 01.820' E174 52.676' - hopefully their a little more on target than those posted. SL TFTC!

Came here this afternoon on an expedition to hunt out some of my unfound caches in the region. Took me about 20 minutes to find it, it was higher up than the GPSr was pointing me and I had spent quite a bit of time searching lower down. However the location was obvious once I got within sight of it. Signed log, TFTC!
Not too much trouble finding this one.
Took some beads, left a survival compass / torch / whistle.

A beautiful Sunday, found it while walking back to the car.
Had a bit of trouble finding it. Coordinates seemed off a little, a suggestion from a friend to keep on looking further lead to me finding it in the end.
A note to people, that the cache is not near any of the traps or bait stations. These are something that everyone especially parents of investigative children should be kept at arms length from.

We had a fantastic walk around the coast and enjoyed pottering around enjoying the weather, scenery & sounds. Cache was found after assuming it was the obvious tree we could see. Once we worked out it wasn't, and the box referred to in the hint was irelevant, it was a quick an easy find.
A cool find on Cache-Kids 10th birthday. Definitely is a little way up. But certainly not as far as High, Wide and Handsome!! Cool to bump into fellow geo-cachers, Gone-fishing, on our way back. TFTC
Took a little while for the GPS to settle down, but once it did, we were right on top of the cache. The gonefishing jrs had come prepared with their gemstones to trade, so they traded, although the cache supplies are bit depleted.
As we were signing the log, a shout came up from below "show us your GPS!" That was joandra and co strolling past.
Thanks for showing us a nice spot on a beaut day.

We enjoyed continuing walking around the coast from Hole in the Rock, and quickly found a suitable hint object, assuming the wooden box refers to an animal trap, although previous logs suggest it may not? However it took a while to find the cache itself, which was much higher than the hint object. TFTC

Found only poison traps. Will have another go sometime in the future. Enjoyed the walk and the good weather.
Nice find on a really pleasant walk around from my stop to do the Hole In The Rock cache. Found easily, good co-ordinates and the clue was correct except the box part - which has gone. SL TN left Kiwi GC (to keep the little blue penguins company) TFTC
Lovely spot. I couldn't find the items mentioned in the clue, but the find wasn't too hard without them.

#215. Had a crack at this a month or so back with no luck. Either my keen eyesight has improved or someone has moved the cache into a spot that makes it more findable. To whom it may concern, thanks for the repositioning of the cache. Great views, but unable to see the whale from this vantage point either (there was a whale floating around yesterday). -gemstone, -yoyo, +grimace toy, +koala. SL, TFTC.
SPOILER alert ....
Didn't find this cache. I'm pretty new to this, so wasn't sure how far up the hillside to look. We found both clues (or what we thought were both clues) right off the track, but no sign of it in the vicinity. There was a possum trap (wooden box) - was that the clue? Our GPS did seem to indicate that we needed to go a bit higher, but...
A muggle passing by (whom had spied us from a distance - we had moved back onto the the track once we spotted them) was a bit hostile about us being off the track and reminded us that we were in Little Blue Penguin nest areas. To be honest, I was already aware of this fact and was feeling a bit uncomfortable tearing through bushes looking for it.
The photo logs and other people's comments do seem to confirm this cache is higher up the hill. Might go back sometime and try again, but would like to hear confirmation it's still there.

Couldn't find this cache, when I visited last year.
But this time I had read the logs and I found it quite quickly.
Great view on a nice sunny day.
Thanks.

Great view on a nice sunny day.
Thanks.
Having helped Bkj97 to find many of his caches since May 2009 I thought it was time that Bcj97 (previous name) should evolve and register my finds to date as Little Blue Hen. Sunny day but windy at the point. Nice spot. TFTC
Good walk and despite GPS being a little obscure clues made find relatively easy. Wooden boxes are nearby and a wooden structure exists closer still. TFTC Good spot on a pleasant day.
Have being meaning to do this one for a while, finally had the chance to get this one out of the way, wasn’t too much of a hassle, a quick walk to GZ, but had to keep an eye on muggles and their K9 companions but managed to get cache easily, cool spot for a cache, TFTC TNLNSL (743)
Found on a lovely sunny day. Nice walk. Nearly gave up but then found it. Located what I think was being referred to in the clue (after finding the cache!) but it was fairly overgrown so have cleared it a little to make it more obvious. TFTC
12:22 - Nice walk along the stone track. Finding the cache took a while just about to give up when I spotted some oddly place sticks.
Didn't Have time to find to the other cache around the coast. Agree with other comments the hint could describe a few places now that the box is gone. TNLN. Thanks for cache.

A lucky find as the 'box' mentioned in the clue is gone. Left reflective hand, took clear quartz, TFTC!
Suggest you change the clue that refers to 'wooden box' as there was no sign of this. There was some wooden wreckage down the bank a bit so it may have been removed!
A nice walk along the coast. Saw lots of rat traps along the way so stayed well clear of them. Spent some time searching, then rested to munch an apple when voila! Spotted the cache! . Opened logbook and spied half an empty page between other logs; seemed a shame to waste the space so signed there instead. Certainly some great views along the coast. Took some pics and dipped a TB for a visit. Thanks for taking us here. TNLN.
Stopped on my way back from completing GC15RDY around the point. Searched for a frustrating 20 minutes with no luck. Then decided to elevate my thinking in line with some of the logs entries and came up trumps. Paddled back to Pukerua Bay more than happy with my evening adventure. TNLN SL TFTC.
great location. missed the night before as the light was fading. so came back and got it. Took 2 p coin and moved it to high wide and handsome. left nothing. SL TFTC
Amazing work on a beautiful day. As already mentioned further up than you would think. Took clapper left star keyring. Thanks for the walk...
Did this on a cold windy and rainy day.. Got all the way to the location, and started searching for the cache.. Rain started pouring down and we eventually stumbled across the cache, much further up that we anticipated.. On way back, rain stopped.. TNLNSL.. Thanks for the cache...
[ At last. . Had tried for this back in June last year but no luck. Nearly had to give up today as after a lengthy search along with stops and starts as the muggles walk by I decided to turn off the GPS and just stand and look at the track.] That paid of as I found it easily after climbing higher. [A beautiful Easter Monday Evening (1845 hrs)

Well, that'll teach me for not reading the logs! (how many times have i said that...) Score 1 for team MFGUS (muggles-foil-geocachers underground subversives group), I took the bait. Next time..... next time...... you can hide, but you can't run Mwuuhhahahaha!!!
Found on a very beautiful Wellington day. Got a bit hot on the walk and had forgotten to take water. Beautiful view from here. Left Bee geocoin, took NZ traveller Card Dollar. Left an Agate brooch as a gemstone surprize.
Two boys 11 and 13, residents of Pukerua Bay, today was first they had ever heard of geocaching, successful find a thrill for them, now they are keen for more (tomorrow!) We are retired family friends from Hawkes Bay, took the boys out for their first try, great spot, thanks to rockme!
nice walk..lots of muggles so had to make like we were admiring the free roaming sheep...
Found this one nice and easy, heading out to High, Wide and Handsome. Great spot. TFTC TNLN
An altogether pleasant walk around the beach on a warm Sunday afternoon. Some rock hopping, and making out like a mountain goat had on at GZ without too much drama. As noted in a previous log, don't be fooled by the very new looking wooden box track side near GZ. Obviously placed there by the muggles-foil-geocachers underground subversives group!
Yes, no surprises about this one, as noted by a good number of earlier visitors the cache container is in a state of disrepair and needs replacing. Miraculously the contents are dry and in good order.
Liberated Mook who wishes to learn more about Black Sheep. Scary stuff man
No gems to leave we are sorry. Other than a few muttered pearls of wisdom at the time of searching and finding the cache.

Looked for a long time, was higher up hill than GPS showed... however, checking Google Earth now is pretty much smack on. Also, there is a relatively new looking wooden box closer to the track which led to the hint being somewhat off-putting.
However, all is well that ends well!
The cache is in dire need of maintenance... a large portion of the container has come off.

(92) Well nice easy find, great GPS reception in the area and amazing views today. Forget we were meant to bring a gemstone till we got here - saw that others had been swapping objects so we thought leaving a marble would be ok.

This has the quality stamp of Rockme all over it. The cache is in a great site I enjoyed about half an hour just sitting and taking in the coast and sea life. The elevation of the site changed the whole perspective of the coastline and view.
TN Left two pieces of pumice which are priceless jewels for removing skin stains and smoothing rough skin.

Will have to come back for this one. Too many muggles walking the track. Searched area GPS indicated just off the track but no luck. Plenty of posion laid in the area at the moment for rodents. I'll be back.
Needed the clue to find this one.
Fantastic spot for a cache.
What a great place to start the travels of my sisters new Geocoin (on its way to Brisbane with me).

A fantastic day to do this cache. Magoo was busy having a swim at the beach whilst I found this.

Introduced my brother Mike to the sport of geocaching by 'refinding' this cache on the way back from the recent shipwreck (about 1.5 km round the coast toward plimerton. Not much of it left now.) Mike did all the work with the GPS and searching, and found the cache quite quickly.

Note: The stinging nettle just above the cache location should be avoided, we both mangaged to touch it whilst logging...
Fantastic day, and a great walk - Thanks Mike we must do it again one day.

Found one of the items in the clue but not the other. Area is very overgrown with wildflowers and ran out of time for a decent search. Will re-visit soon but suspect this is going to be tricky to find.
Found one of the items mentioned in the clue, but it didn't help and we were obviously close but GPS accuracy of 5m wasn't close enough. Warning: there are rodent bait boxes in the area too.
Can anyone who has found this cache provide any additional clues?

Finally found it once we located the wooden box. Great views from the spot. Wonderful walk along the coast with plenty of Muggles. Uplfted TB Gnome 542425.
2.10pm.Mr.Flounderer grew up in Pukerua Bay and used to walk around the coast here regularly - but not for the last 40 years or so. Its still magic just like it used to be !! The hunt proved difficult until morale got a significant boost with the identification of the wooden box. Then we knew we were on track.

Just checking all was ok tok me a while to find it as rocks and leaves had fallen down on it and it was right under bush in excellent condition abit easier to find now.
Cool spot and a good opportunity for the boys to go exploring! GPS took me right to the spot although we still spent about 10mins rummaging around to find the goods! Forgot to bring the special rock so no swaps on this visit.
Nice scenic position. Cache fairly easy to find. My grandaughter exchanged her "Piglet"for a polished stone.
April's Fools! Just kidding....
Had to use hints, I was looking around the baseof the 'hill' wondering what 'box' you were talking about. Did a four-point reference and soon discovered it was up the hill! Found the tree, found the box and found the cache!

Got to this late in the day and were annoyed to find some muggles sitting where we needed to look, filled in some time taking pics but they didnt leave. Then we heard them use the word 'muggle' and realised they were fellow cachers. So we had a nice chat with Alorria and her family. A little bit of work to find it, look out for the poison bait stations. Left a note in the log. Didn't put anything in but took Dolly the travel bug for a new adventure.
Fantastic walk there, spent about an hour looking under every bush in the area, the aching ankles from the falling rocks and the down poor finaly bet me.

Did not find the cache, but found the wooden box; the location seemed right according to GPS and instructions. Raining - maybe should've searched longer in the area. Lovely walk along the coast. We'll try again.
FTF Where are all the Wellingtonians? In Auckland a new surban cache is usually logged in hours not days.
Wellington was gray and glomy so I headed over the hills to check out this cache. I had some watery sunlight while I walked out along the coast although it rained lightly on my return trip.
An easy find apart from the inadequancy of my city slicker shoes, especially on the final approach. I was surprised at the cache by a barking dog rushing up. I whipped out the camera and pretended to be photographing the view as the muggle owner arrived and apologised for the dogs exuberance.
Also to owner rockme: I am sorry to have to tell you your cammo paint job is falling off in sheets and searchers would be wise to have suitable wet rags or wipes to cleanup the inevitable mess on the hands after handling this container. In fact a pointer to the cache location may be the "technicolour grass" in the vicinity.
