Taking The Matetrix on a weekend camping, with a bit of caching included. Spent a good 20 minutes looking in and around the obvious, then expanded to the less obvious. Pretty sure this is no longer here, may require owner attention.
Even with the help of muggles who had done some part time caching we couldn’t come up with this one; but have added this spot on our places to visit with the grand kids. Kutgw
Spent a some time searching in the rain for this but had no luck. The GPS was all over the place and I even had a local stop to check that I was not upto any mischief. Will try again when back in the area. Had a very tricky trip out to the North, as the roads were very greasy with all the rain. Thanks anyway.
TikvaNZ, Fox in Jox (with Ralf the geohound) and I headed to the coast today to collect a few quality caches that we had picked out beforehand. After an early start, we collected 13 caches, including 4 T5 caches, 2 earth caches, 2 puzzle caches, and a couple of random traditionals which helped us with DT and JASMER challenges. A great day with lots of fun, jokes and cache talk - TikvaNZ and I even solved two puzzles in the car trip down and back.
Cache #12 for the day. We decided to head back to the ACT via this dirt road to collect the caches on the way. I like that this cache is a nice old one - good for the JASMER challenge!
We did a few cacher circles before Fox put his hand on it. Unfortunately the logs were soaked as the plastic bag had a hole in it, so we added a small extra log in a fresh bag. There were a few muggles around at the camp site, but don't think they saw our furtive cache signing
Photo attached - a nice shallow crossing indeed! TFTC

AngelG27, Fox in Jox and I came down from Canberra for a days caching. After finding some high T caches at Lake Canjola by kayak with ZQX, we stopped for a wonderful fish and chip lunch in Ulladulla. We then continued our caching aiming for a couple of earthcaches. We took a detour on the way home to visit this and another cache along this route. After we looked in the wrong place for a bit, Fox in Jox found it. TFTC and bringing us to this interesting place.

Today was a road-trip from Canberra and a great way for me to celebrate my 100th day of geocaching, with 100 consecutive days of finds. I travelled with AngelG27, TikvaNZ and my faithful geohound, Ralfie. We collected caches on the way to Lake Conjola, where we met up with ZQX to collect four T5 caches and then collected more caches on our return, with some Earthcaches, a 2003 cache, a puzzle cache and fun traditional caches on the coast and inland along the Clyde River. What a fun day with good friends.
From our lunch spot in Ulladulla, our drive back to Canberra took a diversion to collect this old cache and another further along the route. What a great spot. We passed a fellow casting a line at the crossing and saw a number of families camping nearby. After a brief search around, I looked in another likely spot and found the cache. AngelG27 produced a fresh log sheet, as the existing ones were rather wet. She also produced a new, small plastic ziploc to replace the other, which had a hole in it. AngelG27 has all sorts of things in her geocaching 'bag of tricks' - no rabbits though, although I wouldn't put it past her. TFTC Odee McPodie

Went today with geosis and other active geocachers to find this contaienr. Took us a bit but did find it with in the 5-10 mins mark. The cache is very wet inside as one of the clips has fallen off leaving a hole if the lid is pushed upwards. I would suggest a new log as for the current log isn't to good at the moment.

Quick find whilst out on an adventure with Mr & Mrs Stimpy. We always like caches near campgrounds! TFTC
Found today, while staying nearby at South Durass. Lovely lovely spot. Found with Justz_1.
Took geo puppy who enjoyed swimming. We worked out that one ball doesn't float at all and that the water is too cold to retrieve using arms in water. The guys looked pretty funny with their shorts as high as short shorts. Lots of fun all around. Great spot, a favourite from all of us.

ANZAC day road trip to the coast for some caches and sand.
This was our first stop. It was an interesting drive down the river road from Nelligen. We stopped here for a look at the river and to let the dog have a paddle. Then it was a quick find and a peek at the camp ground before heading up to the nearby trig. On the way back the crossing was easily done.
Thanks Odee McPodie

3089. I approached this one from the south on my way to Ulladulla. I looked in the obvious spot first, but missed it. After looking in other places, I returned to make the find. I didnt get to try the crossing as I was heading off to look for SoGood.

On our 15th day on holiday in Australia we tried to reach the Pigeon House Mountain from Batehaven. Unfortunately we missed the right track at the Shellow Crossing and decided not to go back but headed to the nice “Lake Tabourie Tourist Park” near Ulladulla.
This cache was easily found still heading Pigeon House Mountain.

A great spot for a swim after picking berries at the Clyde River Berry Farm. A great day.
All these years been living in the bay, yet first time time i have ever been there, quite a busy spot but that is too be expected this year. Cache was very quickly found. TFTC.
Been here before but was very busy this time nice and quiet left key took travel bug
Found while out with family and friends in a lovely rainy day. Left travel bug. Enjoy
I've wanted to do these bush caches for some time but the little GeoPrius isn't up to the journey. Today we persuaded a muggle friend to take us on a 4WD trip and we may just have converted her to the game.

On our way to Kiola for the ANZAC day holiday. We decided that it would be more interesting to cut the corner and go via Shallow Crossing instead of the round-a-bout at the Bay. What a good choice. We had a lot more fun and almost no traffic. I parked the new cache mobile almost at GZ (by luck rather than intent) then wandered around before completing the crossing.
What a great place to hide a cache. This is a favourite location for me down by the Clyde River.TFTC
Found @ 1:59pm with hccatcher11415 on a trip to the Bay for the long weekend
We decided to make a slight detour on the way back to Canberra for this one. We enjoyed the drive and watching the various watercraft on the river.
hccatcher dropped me off near GZ and drove across the crossing before returning back across to make the find. We did have to wait out a family of muggles enjoying the water before searching. hccatcher must have had a "boy" look as I made the find in a spot she had already "looked" in! We both left pathtags for the next finders as we really enjoyed coming to this spot.
Thanks for the cache Odee McPodie!!!

What a great drive. All round it was about an hour 20mins to drive to, find and return. Had a blast, got the 4wd nice and dirty (just what it's made for). I'd been up this track before but only halfway to this point. Thanks for bringing me further along. Took nothing but left a pathtag and a definite favourite point.

This cache has been out since before I started caching so now I see why it always seemed to pop up on the maps...
On this weekend's trip down the coast I thought it might be time to detour off the highway and tackle some dirt for this one. A little further than I thought and was surprised at the crossing! The river is a beautiful spot. TFTC!

Great to find this on the way to Bateman's Bay for a coffee after The Castle Walk [xx(] the day before. The group I was with hadn't heard of geocaching before so was good for them. Got bogged on the way there whilst looking at some old gold mines on side tracks.
Wow, the river is flowing , this place is just lovely, lots of wild life about. TFTC
Nice quick find. I love this place, have been coming here for years. Had a chat with some fellow cachers at GZ.
Muggles everywhere but managed to distract the closest few while the rest of CaddaRoojaFOD did the deed. The river crossing was great and was just what I needed to help convince Cadda we need a 4x4!
Out today with team CaddaRooJaFOD and as we approached from the north we got to make the crossing first, although we had to dodge the muggles that thought they had right of way on the crossing. The crossing was a lot higher than the last time I was here.
Onto the cache and there were muggles parked all around GZ, but the advantage of being there in a team is that some can run interference while other grab the cache - which is exactly what we did. TFTC

jusojara found this one with Mr Roo while Dr FOD and I distracted the father clearing out his car just metres from GZ.
What an awesome place. The water seemed to be flowing pretty quickly, a little boy struggled to stay off the road against the current.
Thanks for the ride there jusojara and for the cache Odee McPodie.

Great easy find .not many clues needed. Geokids played on the crossing drinking the fresh water.
Great drive in to the river crossing. There were a few muggles camping nearby gz but they were far enough away not to worry us. Many thanks for putting a cache in this top location.
At Shallow Crossing for a canoing weekend with the scouts. The scouts grabbed this one on the way to the river for a swim. Great spot... Beware the barbed wire nearby.
To cross or not to cross?

On bikes so no swaps but couldn't resist the geocoin
which I'm taking north.
Signed log and crossed without falling in but got wet trousers

A nice quick find as we pulled up right next to GZ. Luckily for us all the campers were situated in the far back corner of the campground, way back from the road. After the cache duties were all done it was then off to the little swimming spot at the lower end of the camping ground to let the geouhounds in for a dip - they didn't mind the rain in the least.
Ditto on McPhan's log. We had driven for some time to get here, so didn't want to miss this cache. Arriving at the crossing it was quite a lot wider than I had expected, and the Adventra hesitated before the driver urged it through. The group of yobbos on the other side seemed to be there to sneer at anything that drove through the water, and to offer free advice in that way men like to do when it comes to cars (yes of course you all - mostly - do!!) Then for some reason they would not move off the road, and someone left their kids playing in the water on the crossing - ON the crossing, regardless of traffic. So it was a matter of some satisfaction to be able to out wait them, and when they moved off over the crest for lunch we swooped, logged and got out. Quite a strange experience, but it did not detract from the loveliness of the area. Really made me want to jump in with a kayak and let the current take me away. Thanks Odee - nice one.
2791. Well that was one of the most Deliverance experiences that I've had caching. As we crossed the river we could hear the banjo and guitar duel and we were watched by a group of hicks that passed judgement on every car that drove through. We headed off and parked at the camp ground and then walked back to the crossing. Many knuckles were scraping along the ground as they prepared to sacrifice their children to the crossing gods.
Eventually jungle drums sounded and they slunk off to prepare a tithing feast so Mrs Winglen and I swooped on the cache and fled before they turned on us. Glad to be out of their presence.
The crossing however is well worth visiting just make sure you have a can of Bogan Off.

A spur of the moment decision to come here after finding Philma's recent placements. I tested the business about fresh & salt water but it's salty on both sides of the causeway. A lovely location which I have added to my camping 'to do' list. There is major forestry work in progress along the road but I was allowed through - just remember to use your 2way to check before you venture in. On the way back I came to that Y intersection & was puzzling which way to go when I saw the sign to the East Lynne servo, so in appreciation I had lunch there. I have something in common with my Nuvi - I'm navigationally challenged. Thanks for a pleasant drive.
Take a piccy time for Mrs Derf , should be a 200 photo weekend I would Say Plenty of water across the crossing and a hive of activity in the camp ground Lots of Datsun 1600's with numbers and names plastered over them. Yess there was a rally on. Turn around and head back to the Hwy
Decided to go for a paddle up river from shallow crossing. Paddled 2.8 Km against the current, then back again against the wind after a southerly change. Very proud of Niki (10) what a great effort!!! Extra bonus finding the cache at the end. Was lucky not to stick our hand into this particular crevice. (see photo). TFTF Niki couldn't decide took Macas toy and Sylvania mouse and left 2 dolls and a butterfly.
Went for a drive from Merry Beach. Nice easy find, managed to avoid all the people camping. On the way back we stopped at the Berry Farm and picked up some nice berries worth a visit if you do this cache.
Never realised that there was a salt/fresh water transition at this point.
It is indeed a beautiful and tranquil place and with a bit of water flowing across the crossing, gave us a perfect opportunity to take some poser shots with the Jeep and our new camper trailer.
Top one. Well worth the short drive to get here.

Have heard about this place over the years, but had never visited before. What a beautiful tranquil place. I admit to being surprised that the camp ground was empty and will likely return with friends and family one day. I love fords of the river crossing type, but barely wet my tyres today. The cache was quickly to hand, unusual for me, but I was having a very good day! The only bad part was that the camera batteries were flat and the spare was sitting at home on the charger - another reason to return. TFTC

Found 10:42am.
Went 'round and 'round this one. Muggle mate and I both looked straight at it and didn't see it. Deciphered the hint, which I found unhelpful, looked up, and there it was.
Had no reason to cross the river, but decided we would because we could. Great idea... there was a 6 foot log stuck on the crossing. Water was about 3 inches deep, so I spent the rest of the day squelching about.
Beautiful camping area, but still a lot of people for this time of year (which is what I try to avoid by going camping). Can only imagine how cold it would've been overnight on the river, so headed off back up into the hills to where it was a comfortable 10 degrees overnight, and not a soul seen or heard all weekend. Bliss

Found cache ok in new location, TNLN, had a car wash on the way over, doing a round trip back to Ulladulla, on to Clyde Views next
Came to check on this cache after contact from big_matt telling us the cache needs fixing.
When arriving there were lots of Muggles around so we waited till they cleared. We could see the cache from the road so i'm suprised that it has not gone missing.
Did some Maintenance on the cache, New container, restocked cache, and rehid.
Cache has been relocated to a new hiding spot. No change in coords as it is within 1 metre from original spot.

Thanks for the heads up on our cache Big_matt. We are heading down that way in the week after the new year and will do some maintenance on the cache.
Shell and I were out on a maintenance run today and found this one lying on the ground near the fence, at least it was still intact. I replaced it but you may need to find a new hiding spot as the old one is falling apart and the cache is visible from the road.

A nice little detour on the way to Ulladulla from canberra. Beautiful are. I'm not sure my car will ever forgive me for the dust coating it received. When crossing the river my partner said "Oh good, this'll clean the car a little", till I pointed out that Wet Car + Dirt Road = Muddy Car.
Great spot took a bit of finding but all we had to do was look up this was the first time we were in this area it was a joyful day thanks heaps [8]
This one took a little finding, all under the watchful eye of the cache guardian (see photo below) and as usual, the clue made much more sense after we'd found the hidey hole!
But what a great spot for a cache! I have been out here before, way back when I was into rallying (needless to say I only ever saw it by the light of half a dozen Cibie's doing about 140 km/h) but now I've had a look around we will definitely have to come back with the camping gear and stay a while?

Good old camping grounds in this area, have not been down here for 23 years. so while camping on the coast we came up for a drive to the cache.

I took tthe time to check out this cache on a side track on the way home from the coast. A neat spot. I might have to come down here camping some time.

The river crossing here is spectacular, and there were heaps of people enjoying the cool waters on this 38 degree day.
Luckily the cache site is nicely hidden from the view of bathers in the water, and we retrieved it without being spotted, only to be attacked by several leeches that were on the log that I rested on (Mrs killerbunnies called them "strange insects" but they were definitely leeches).
We hurriedly checked each other for any that had been successful (they hadn't), and left carrot #98.

Did this cache while on holidays down on the south coast, the only problem being we chose a very wet day to head out to this one, so much so that we used 4-high most of the way out to shallow crossing.
After a short search around the obvious spot the cache revielled itself. TNLN. Thanks Odee, you owe me for a car wash.

Christmas day was over, and what to do? Well I had never been to Shallow Crossing and thought why not? Got there, and saw what I thought was an obvious place, not so. Spent a good 15 to 20 mins looking around for alternatives. Found it on my last sweep before giving up. TNLN t
The family decided that the weather was getting warm enough for a trip to the beach – so off we went on our first coast trip for the season! But hang on – what’s a coast trip without a few caches thrown in? Only 4 I promised the family! And this was our 4th and final for the day.
Certainly this was a very nice location! I’ve always wondered where that road lead, when passing it many times over the years. There was a campsite nearby, and even a canoe hire, but alas we didn’t have time for that today. MattS and BiancaS still had a lot of fun in the water, but it was still way too cold for SueS and myself!
Took a badge and a fishing hook, left a fuzzy ball, and a soldier. Thanks Odee McPodie for introducing us to this wonderful place.
