I am DNF number seven in a row. Last found 2008.
This is definitely MIA.
(I should have read the logs before coming).
But cache or no cache, it is certainly worth the view.

Yes well ...Old Temingi struggled up the hill which was not like him.Not my best day . The views and rocks were spectacular. The search for the cache unsuccessful. I'll return one day. Thanks Scenic routers for bringing me to this scenic wonderland.

Come up for the beautiful vistas. Looked for this cache for a while but ran out of time and only later read the string of DNF logs. We'll be back, but it would certainly be nice to know if another search would be a waste of time! What a place though, cache or no cache!

A friend asked me if I would like to go for a walk in this reserve, so thought there may be a cache here?? sure enough on the website it shows one. A good drive down form the mountains and what a location, never been here before!! The track up was pretty good and after a short search found GZ. I looked around for some time and no luck in finding the cache. I have read that others hadn't been able to find it, so after all this time I imagine it's gone. IT IS TIME FOR THE 'CO' TO CHECK IT OUT!! It may be time to archive it!!!

I don't think it can be there - Geofus and I spent half an hour or more squeezing through every crevice in this lump of granite. Only didn't look in places that would have required a torch or a long stick. Can the cache have fallen down a crack, or worse still, been muggled? (And is it true that caches are frowned upon in NSW Parks land?)

All the same, I love this place!

Four of us spent half an hour scouring under every rock in the vicinity. Does'nt appear to be there but we have been wrong before! Anyway we enjoyed the walk and the awesome views.
Thanks ScenicRouters.

We looked for an hour around GZ and couldn't find the cache. We plan to try again soon, but seeing as everyone else seemed to find the cache OK it may have gone AWOL.

Was still keen for a bit of adventure after a canyoning trip was postponed due to the weather so it was of to Evans Crown for a walk and a cache. 20 min to go up and found the hiding spot after a short search. Very wet and slippery up on the rocks so didn't venture too far. 10 min back to the carpark and off home.

Left Weathered's USA Geocoin.

It was an interesting search as the cloud cover was very heavy. Accuracy of the GPS was about +/- 15m. Lotsa verrry big rocks to look under. Still a good way to spend a picnic day owed. Thanks to JAB's for getting us motivated.

Evans Crown is a fabulous spot and is one of our favourite places to visit in this area. Its an easy stroll and not long after leaving the car park you find yourself at the top amidst a jumble of boulders and rock slabs. Even non-climbers – like us!! – can readily clamber to the top of some of these boulders whereupon you are presented with almost 360deg pastoral vistas – today complete with the distant lowing of cattle.

We gazed wistfully at the top most boulder but from what we could see it was way beyond our rudimentary climbing skills. Definitely only for Tangles types. Despite having been here before and taken many photos on that occasion, we still managed to take a heap more today.

Oh the cache. Easy find – once some muggles had moved on – and a nice hide. We took nothing but left a double adaptor. Thanks for a great cache Routers.

Great one to find on the first day of spring. Ended up walking out in the dark because there was no way we were leaving without watching the sunset. What a beautiful spot. Worth every step.

Thought this would be a good spot for this bug. I have watched people rock climb here before.

My favourite cache so far. Had a bit of a scramble around to find it. Took compass keyring, left green frisbie. Placed some extra camouflage on cache to prevent it being muggled by curious types. You'll still find it if you're looking though.

Found this one on the way to Tarana Pub for lunch. Nice enjoyable walk to the top and on the way down we were lucky enough to see 2 echidnas. Thanks Scenic Routers Cool

After an enjoyable walk up, and after admiring the wonderful views, we set about looking for the cache. I found it first, but let Bruce have a go at finding it before revealing its location. His batteries expired, so I just retrieved it for all to log.

Great location, great views, great walk up - everything that makes a great cache. Thanks for it all.

A really terrific area and my favourite in the Bathurst area. Beautiful views with the day clear allowing us to see for miles. Spent time just sitting on the rocks admiring their size and stature. Left pen and took teddy. Thanks Scenic Routers for bringing us to this area.

Thought I'd test the fitness with this little stroll to the top, so without running I made it to the top in 10mins flat and low and behold there it was, just like the cache notes said - only covered by nature. Somehow this isn't what I thought you meant (photo).
Anyway with the wind blowing and sub zero temps this wasnt a place to stay. Had a quick look at some nearby abseilers and then it was back to the 4WD...
Thanks for the adventure.

Found by Pi and his younger brother.

We were staying at the pub in Tarana for a few days of R&R (read - fly fishing). We had decided on a previous visit to this area that we would walk up to the crown for a look around and now with a cache as a bonus it was a must do for this trip. We are glad we did. We started early as the weather was cool with a gentle breeze and the odd spattering of rain, which made the walk up relatively easy. After a bit of scrounging at GZ we found the cache and got it out, did the cache stuff and returned it to its hidey-hole. Interestingly a family had signed the logbook before Tangles but not logged the cache here on GC. Maybe they were some nice muggles who found it by accident.

This is such an interesting area that to just do the cache and leave would be a real shame, so we set off for an explore. So many interesting/strange/incredible rock formations. We found a really incredible lookout at S33 32.547 E149 55.358. The coords will take you to a rock in between two bigger rocks with a nice ledge to stand on, well worth the walk.

After a couple of hours of exploring it was time to go.

T: Nothing.
L: Lanyard and Carabiner with Compass.

Thanks for a first class caching experience.
Mike.

Many moons ago we used to spend a lot of time here just hanging around and when things did not go right we left a lot of skin, ouch.
We made our way up the winding track with a light drizzle, which was been blown sideways by the icy winds. We soon had the cache in hand and after doing the formalities we pushed on and up. If you only do the cache and return you are doing yourself a big injustice it would be like seeing Pamela Anderson in a dress (you are missing out on the interesting parts).
We pushed on passing familiar camping caves and climbing routes (look for the bolts) gaining altitude with every step. Walking on the wet granite was like trying to defrost your fridge with a toothpick but valiantly we pushed on and reached the summit. On the way down we could slide down on our bums using large boulders to retard our fall.
Left DVD.
Took Mini radio.

First cahce for the afternoon. Went with Froggy 346 and grand daughter. Joined Froggy 346 for the virgin cache. Great views, beautiful walk. It is my first time past Tarana. Was wonderful! Big Grin.
