But did get a number of cuts from the cutty grass. If you come looking, bring gloves for the cutty grass and a bag as there is a lot of rubbish on the beach
There has been a slip in the area so cache may have moved.
No find in 18 months - may need some "maintenance"

Went to this one after finding Lake Side Wonder. Had lunch while waiting for tide to go out a bit, then scambled round to spot. Not sure what it used to be like here, but there has been a large slip and no obvious way to climb up. After risking life and limb decided to call it a day! A lovely quiet beach, well worth visiting anyway
Just Had to come here while in the South Head area. A quick trip down hill, with heaps of people fishing at the beach. Found quick smart - cache is a bit damp inside, log damp aswell, but still logable.
Really great spot!!

Found with cachehunter007. Up this way for orienteering champs in the forest on the other coast. Was wet cold and windy over there but here it is quite pleasant. Ran down the hill but walked back up

Found it, pfff. Had an inspection in the area, couldn't let this one pass while is was up here. After some slippery rocks, wet sand, landslides and cutty grass I found it. Had my daily excersise on the way up.

Glutton for punishment, decided to go for the South Head cache, as the tides were favourable, and we were nearby. Accompanied by Midi YuGeo, as the rest of the team were suffering from sore knees and tired legs. Easy find, after a mad scramble. Then a punishing slog back up that killer hill – that’s it, no more hills for us in the next few days we thinks.

Working nearby so decided to come this way for a run. Which also included a wade due to the tide. Great spot. TNLNSL TFTC
After getting FTF on The Bombing Range with Glyn, we thought we would give this cache a shot. After a long drive from Woodhill forest we came to the end of road and found the trail to the beach.
We really appreciated the nice walk downhill to the beach, but then remembered that on the way back it may be uphill .
After a short walk ina stunning location, the cache was located, after a short scramble up the bank. The cache is doing well and we discovered that were FTF again (Well for 2007) anyway.
What a great spot thanks for giving us an excuse to come up here, never been up this far.
TNLN, Thanks for the cache.

Gary has said it all,I just want to add that its a real nice place, pity it doesnt get hit more often,it deserves better, thanks for taking us there.
We decided to attempt this cache on the spur of the moment, as we had just completed a cache relatively nearby. Unfortunately the cache notes were at home but we figured we'd go for it anyway. Luckily the tide was kind to us and the coordinates were sufficiently accurate to allow us to claim it after about a 15 minute search. The cliff looked like it had had a recent slip, but the cache and its contents were safe and dry.

Orienteering Championships nearby so decided it was a good opportunity to visit this one. Combined visit with Edvern, and what a great spot. Tide out, no muggles, but not sure about the climb back up the hill after a big run. TFTC
Joined up with Tramper Ted for this one as we were orienteering nearby. What a spectacular coastline with great views. TFTC

A combination of tree weaving and rock hopping brought us to cache area. But on the beach within 10 metres of the cache two fishermen were wating patiently for the catch of the day. So a bit of a dilemma. A bold approach was called for, so with a cursury nod I proceeded to climb towards my objective and then sat staring out to sea. Being gentleman they would not resort to staring at my stange behaviour, besides they had more important things to attend to. Cache eventually extracted logged visit and consigned a doll's dresser table to an unknown future.
Decided to go out and get some of Tanetops' caches out nor-west way, and by the time we were out there... we figured we had to go all the way!
Aaron had a look at the down slope and said something colourful. But he was rewarded by a canoodling couple just metres away from the cache, bodies intertwined on the beach. Seeing that they were quite unaware of anything else around them, we proceeded to finding the cache. Piece of cake.
The walk back up the hill was not quite so pleasant. But thanks just the same.
- bottle opener (came in handy later, thanks)
+ $2.50 as we had no trade items.

What an amazing spot. Had a bite to eat whilst the kids made the most of the sunny weather. Terrific way to end the day!

Wow! That's a fair ol' trip out of Auckland - still, got a chance to give the Golf VR6 a bit of a blast.
Got to within approx 5kms and decided it was time to switch the GPSr on. Entered the coords off the listing and ...what's this...60kms South? That can't be right. Well actually it is if you've printed off Tofska's South Head cache listing by mistake. Fortunately, mobile reception was just working so phoned home and got the right info.
Arrived at high tide, so it was off with the boots and scramble over the rocks, and then a fairly quick find.
Thanks Runzz TNLNSL

Arrived at high tide which made for an excellant adventure, wet feet, rock hopping the works. Excellent fun. We weren't the only mad ones, three fishermen were taking the same route. On the way back from the cache F slipped and got somewhat wetter than she would have liked, but shes still smiling.

We took our chance when there was a break in the weather and shot up to Mosquito Bay from Shelly Beach. We overshot the cache by quite a distance, after being distracted by a reeking stingray, so we had two shots at it. It's in a great location and it gives you an idea of how swiftly the water exits, and presumably enters, the harbour. Thanks. -smiley keyring +tape measure keyring
