Number 4 for us today as we headed to O'Haloran Hill Recreation Park to have a good walk and grab a few caches. Parked at the top and walked to all the caches we did today. From the last cache we found a pathway to this one, which made for pleasent walking. So pleased we know our NSEW, worked out where to go and off we went again. Both Byercat and myself were getting ready for a coffee by now. Wouldn't it be great to come across a cache that had hot coffee on tap LOL. TNLN TFTC

Love it! love it!! love it!!!
Hint to others. Hold your nerve and stick to the tracks. Keep moving till you find another track to take you in the right direction. Do not panic as I did and go 'bush bashing' (unless that is what you like to do), for there is no need except at the end, as the CO advises.

Lovely innovative hide

out caching with cows with guns. had to spit out the log.

27-Aug-11
I used to drive up and down this section of Morphett Road before it got closed off, had plenty of fun in the wet.

This cute cache was found after resorting to the looking at the hint.

On the way out I started pondering the number of people who would almost be walking past this cache seeking the multitude of other caches that now span this park.

Thanks for the cache Klems' Mob. Well done on an easy cache involving a pleasant walk, and great views.

A pleasant stroll on the first sunny day in two weeks. This time a quick and easy find was made, (Getting the numbers of the correct pole dose help) the hardest part was getting the little bugger to cough up the log.
Thanks for the cache!

A lovely day for a stroll in the park. The scenic views are magnificent. I only had to walk from the carpark to the cache today as I had previously failed to find even though I had the correct Coords. Glad to get it off my to do list. Thank's Klem's for the cache and hunt. TNLNSL

09-May-10
Ouch! I walked in on a a pleasant day, collected the clues, and made my way to GZ. As I was circling the spot I located a nest of huge meat ants, using the old trick of standing on it. I did the ants in my pants dance, while trying to remove them as fast as possible, and having my leg bitten for my troubles. Ouch!

Then I warily continued my search of the area, but couldn't spot the cache container. I searched for about 15 minutes, and was starting to think it would be a DNF, when I found the cache in front of my nose.. Ouch! It blends in so well, you can easily miss it. Shame I hadn't seen the spolier photo. As we said as kids, Major Look you dirty chook!

Then as I went to sign the log, I realised there was no pen, and I'd left mine in the car. Ouch! However, a desperate mix of ingenuity, moist dirt and a stick meant that I actually managed to make an entry in the logbook. Good thing about the dirt, because blood on the log wouldn't have been a good look. And I'd had enough ouches for one cache.

Took nothing, except a few ants that I hadn't managed to shake. Left relieved.
Thanks Klem's Mob!

Found myself in the area and had been wanting to do this for ages. Started after dark for this one and it only got darker. Got the coords and found the tracks to the GZ but about one hour of looking and no luck. Phoned a previous but long ago finder but that didn't help.

27-Mar-10
Somewhat of an epic and my first multi! Stuffed up one of the calcs and had to go back and check my numbers. Set off for another try; knew I was in the right spot due to all the burnt trees and surroundings. As with other loggers, GZ was a bit out. After some careful consideration (and thinking about the clue) checked a couple of spots and just when I was on the verge of logging a 'no find' it was staring straight at me, literally.
Great camo and worth the effort, I walk this park regularly with the Muffin so I was more than happy to spend some time here. SL. TFTC.

Geodog and I enjoyed the walk, very nice view in both locations.
Watched the adjacent snake hole for activity while collecting WP1 info
WP2 is sneaky and good camo, had to phone a friend to be sure.
Snapper had completed the last log on a gum leaf Cool I replaced the log book and sealed the cache with plastic to keep out the dampness. Cache is now face down so the water will run off not in.
TFC really enjoyed this, personally I am over urban caching and enjoy the change from playgrounds and intersections.
Thanks again for bringing me here.

I have been meaning to do this cache for ages, and after finding it , it just doesn't seem to disappear off my screen until i have logged it online.
Funny about that
We looked for ages and just then looking at a slighty different angle Uni saw it
Thanks Klems' Mob

Skippy and I searched for ages. Finally I happened to look in the right direction.

Jan said I'd say duh.

"Duh!"

Thanks Klem's Mob. And it was so close to gz too!

13-Apr-09
Went for a stroll this morning and the cache is still there.

11-Apr-09
After an email (thanks) confirmed we were on the scent first visit we returned for a late afternoon find. It was not to be (seems I've written that all to often on Klem caches!). Searched the obvious tree from top to bottom for a micro and all the many branches for 45+ minutes. Some branches have cracked off the trunk, fallen and died over summer, so searched them too as well as the ground in case the cache had become dislodged. The red ants (was bitten last visit) must be worth an extra star! Will watch this one with interest.

04-Apr-09
What a saga. Left the caches notes at home but did have them on the pda. Went to wp1 which according to the gpsr is the OTHER structure. Walked 600m in the wrong direction before realising the mistake. Returned to wp1. Then walked to gz based on what appeared to be the correct info. gz area fitted the description but after looking for 30+minutes no joy.

14-Oct-08
Checked on this one today. Still OK.

06-Oct-08
I've worked out what happened. It looks like I was at the right spot, and that I had the final coordinates because Klem's Mob accidentally posted the new final coordinates as a note rather than a reviewer note. Certainly the coordinates I used matched the pattern of the calculations.
That means I was looking in the right spot after all, just didn't find it. This is likely because I didn't read the notes beforehand, so didn't realise it was a micro. Maybe that's Karma for not doing the multi the correct way.

06-Oct-08
Sort of a DNF today. Arrived at GZ and thought the cache ought to have been destroyed by what appeared to have been a fire. When I couldn't find the cache, checked the notes and realised it had been. It seems a long time ago I must have visited the starting point and put the final in as corrected coordinates in GSAK, and not realised the coordinates had been changed. Rang home to get the real starting point, but as it was taking me further from the car, and would have required more walking with the dog through long grass, I decided it was better to come back to this one another day.
Enjoyed the walk though.

15-Jun-08
A perfect day for caching. Joan and I enjoyed our walk towards the cache. Cool cache. Cool We liked it.
Thanks Klems' Mob for the cache. Smile

Found the cache at last. Twice attemp... Love your cache. Enjoyed walk along to the cache. Thanks Klems' Mob for organising the cache and hunt.

25-May-08
Finally got round to doing this cache. The number of times we drive past the parking spot is very high and every time we drive past we say must do that cache one day.

Well today was the day. A nice walk in the park, did the calculations and continued on to the cache. Like a Phoenix this one has risen from the ashes after the bushfire late last year.

First to sign the new cache. Does this give us a FTF? WinkWinkWinkWink

Thanks Klems Mob for reactivating this cache.

12-May-08
All OK now

12-May-08
The new final co-ords are: S 35 02.816 E 138 32.753

The team is practicing for the Trailblazer Challenge so what a better way than to go caching in the hills. Fantastic location and wonderful views. TFTC

Needed a bit of a walk and this one has been on the to do list for a while so off we went.

An easy find despite the large number of sour sobs in the vicinity.

You'll be happy to know that the area is starting to green up after recent rains. First find with my first gps, so much easier than using google earth as the only reference.

Enjoyed the walking and looking. Drive past this location every day to work. Glad we did it on the weekend to allow plenty of time for the walking etc. Lots of flies ...
Took - Travel Bug 'Little Bugger #4 - Bee'
Left - Mickey Mouse
Thanks ... Klems' Mob

27-Aug-06
Junior Simmo found this one. The whole family out for a bike ride. Great location. Took a frog and left a jeep. Also dropped off a travel bug.

09-Aug-06
Another Team Nibbler out and about at lunchtime find. Must have looked strange in the office attire to the guy riding his bike and the woman walking her dog. Given the dry winter the big wet patch is bone dry but its potential was not lost on the Team..... Took toy soldier and left palm tree. Thanks to the Mob for another enjoyable lunchtime walk.

30-Jul-06
My closest and first cache, and what fun! Thanks!

13-Mar-06
Still feeling the effects of the previous evening's alcohol fuelled events we set off for the cache. I noted that the first hill we descended would be one that would cause me to complain on the way back ... and I was right! I would love to get the 4WD in there in the middle of winter - that would be a challenge to cross the wet patch and then climb the hill!

Thanks for the [sarcasm on] 'lovely walk' [sarcasm off] and the cache. TNLN

A pleasant walk early on a sunny morning. Nice and dry so the wet patch was not. Great views from here. TNLNSL.

03-Feb-06
Nice walk with a couple of Geo Puppies, lots of burs later, we found the prize:) Great Views drive past here all the time and didn't realise how big the park is.

03-Feb-06
Nice walk on a nice day. Glad to see no snakes and very happy we did this cache in summer as the wet patch would be difficult to negotiate!

Left TB "Big Blushing Beetle"

31-Jan-06
Needed a brisk walk to help tea go down, so set off in the cool of evening. Excellent views over the city and out over the gulf. Started off after the cache in one direction, then backtracked to the trail. Arrived back at the car just on sunset. Took a snake in an egg, left a fox. Thanks Klems' Mob, a nice cache.

14-Jan-06
FeatherWaite's old stomping ground. Grew up nearby, in the first house built south of Seacombe Road, and have spent many hours roaming these hillsides as a kid (never came across no geocache back then, but). At Waypoint 1, the numbers are getting very difficult to read - could be a problem in the near future. Found at 10.10 am. No swaps, Cheers!

29-Dec-05
Wow. This took some time with the heat almost unbearable. We were determined to get this cache and walked from the main road. Got to the first point eventually and finally got to the second point and the cache. Good thing we had water with us. Great views from here. A big effort to get our 300th cache. Took Car and left Dinosaur. Cheers.

21-Oct-05
The walk would have been far more enjoyable had the weather been a little less dismal. A pleasant spot nevertheless. Easy multi had us at the cache in no time. Left a cap and took nothing. Thanks Klem’s mob. The first of three of yours today.

29-Sep-05
Went for a walk and collected Katie and Citrix TB's for a trip to Yorkes....

26-Sep-05
Nice easy find, after a lovely walk. Co-ords spot on... Lost track of how many Klems Mob we have now! Interesting to note plenty of footprints in the area, but no logs here since July[?]
Left patch and Citrix Rocks & Katie the Cockatoo TBs for a rest.

09-Jul-05
found pretty easily! we know the area from being involved with the neighbouring archery club. took buddha statue, left toy car. unfortunatly, we got caught in a big down pour on the walk back to the car!

09-Jul-05
Pleasant multi which gave us an opportunity to stretch the legs and enjoy the view. TNLN. Thanks Klems mob.

08-Jul-05
Parked nearby but remember driving up Morphett Road all the way as a kid. I'm sure my brothers got stuck in the mud just there a few times too.
Great find and thanks for bringing me back to my childhood.

26-Jun-05
Found this one today, at around 12:00pm. A nice walk across the hill-face, I was surprised to see how many other people were out and about around here. What a great view ... it'd be a hit on New years eve, I'm sure!
Somehow, the cache had about .5 cm of water in it, so I drained it and tried to dry it out whilst I was there. Not sure how it's getting in, as the lid was attached?!

No swaps, thanks for bringing us here!

26-Jun-05

enjoyed the walk and the view. found the cache at about 14:00. it was still quite damp so we aired it off for as long as we could. the log book was nice and dry in its bag.

it seems the lid needs to be pressed down firmly until it clicks other wise it may leak. then again we may never get as much rain as we have had in the last two weeks.

took: a light
left: a sesame street toy and earplugs

thanks Klems Mob for the experience

Gentle stroll on a reasonable mornig, glady it wasnt windy or raining. Was thinking twice about doing this cache after training last night, but pushed on anyway.

Easy find, and some slightly clouded views.

19-Jun-05
A gentle stroll on a cold windy day! Solved the puzzle and managed to pick the right track to get to GZ. I had been thinking this park needed a cache but hadn't got around to scouting out the possibilities.

Took a koala and left a car kit for a Nokia (5110 from memory). TFTC, cheers!

16-Jun-05
Found by Mary & David at 1105. The rain kindly stopped for this one, so the walk was enjoyable. Good views up here. Took Clipsal key ring, left bottle opener key ring. Our thanks to Klems' Mob.

Very easy cache. Great views. We saw a fox also.

Took bouncy ball and cards
Left tool kit and enemy soldier

Beaut view on a beaut afternoon. Interesting walking through some very dry ground to find that wet patch.

Thanks for a neat cache. Where did you get that bucket?

A nice little sojourn in a place so close to home. Such a lovely parcel of land that, let’s hope, can be developed by nature even more.

Thanks to Matthew and Alexander for the company and the wheels to get me to this cache – 2 new intrepid –non-muggles no more. They though the whole concept of caching is cool – maybe a new customer for Alex soon Big Grin.

Left a Clipsal electric key ring and took the picture frame. Thanks Kelm’s.

Clear skies, TeamAstro.

Great way to start a new month with a new cache!!
After a very pleasant little stroll and some simple math(nice for a change!) I walked straight up to the cache. Enjoyed the nice views back over the city too. I've never seen it from that perspective before, would be even better on a bright day.
Removed the dental sanitary devices from the cache and left behind a reflector & a snake.
Cheers Klem's Mob.

More like a Major Debacle....I'm not sure if I'm going mad or if I'm going blind, or a bit of both, but try as I may, the elusive cache, remained that....elusive. Found the 'structure' easilly enough and quickly did the maths to find the digits for the second location. After a VERY thorough search of the obvious nearby location, I realised (rightly or wrongly) that maybe the 4th to last digit was different in one or other of the coordinates than those I was assuming, maybe the coordinate system or datum was different to those I had assumed. Managed to blow the next 3 hrs checking no less than seven different relatively nearby locations that had what I believed feasible combinations of the above factors...predictably little success. Went back to the 'obvious' location..again no luck. Nearly walked into the same spider web countless times from different directions. Went to another location not far away on the off chance that the cordinates were swapped - also predictably bare. I was constantly astounded by how many of the sites I'd checked seemed to match the encrypted description that I'd sheepishly read prior to my departure. Thanks anyway for an afternoon in the fresh air. Hopefully subsequent visitors have more luck (or brains, or eyes) than I. Cheers, Shams.
