This area has been extensively burnt in the past and now has heavy regrowth.
Despite this the area got a very good going over.
It’s filled with rotting charcoal and there is no evidence of any cache, even the one that has been placed there by a previous cacher as stated in a previous log.
Hopefully it will be replaced sometime in the future.
The location and River Murray view from the hut is awesome.
We were joined by a group of 16 school students and their teachers for the night after they paddelld in and then departed in the morning.

Spending a week on the Track hiking from Dwellingup to Collie. Was too tired to look for this one on my way into camp, so I went to have a look the next morning. The area is rather overgrown at the moment, and my poking and prodding failed to reveal the cache. I'll try again next time I'm in the area.
Camping in the Lane Poole Reserve and some 4WD fun around the place.
Beautiful spot but no luck with the cache.
Beautiful spot but no luck with the cache.

Back up in the hills today with Tango (poor Ralphy had to stay at home for this adventure). What a gem of a spot - definitely one I plan on returning to another day and spending a bit more time. We were admiring the view down near the water's edge when noises from the nearby undergrowth caused us to stop and watch as two very large bungarras came crashing out straight towards us. All four of us froze. Then the smaller of the two reptiles (the reluctant female we assumed) made a break for freedom by running the gauntlet between the two of us. The other larger beastie (the thwarted male) just looked at us in disgust before walking slowly around us and heading off in the direction where his quarry had gone. Huge muscular legs he had on him, with extremely long sharp claws too. No wonder she took off and left him. Romance in the bush - I wonder if he managed to find her again?? No problems finding the cache though. Thanks for the excitement trail geek.
All very wet but tipped out the water and dried overnight before replacing back obits spot. Thanks.
Came across this one whilst riding the South Junction Form. The hardest thing about finding the cache was swimming across the river to get to it. Quite cold in there today and the current was strong after the recent rain, it's amazing what some of us will do for a cache! Thanks trail geek for the challenge.
Found this one too as we were staying there with plenty of time, despite walking back to No.9.
Spent five hours walking in the rain, so left this one till the morning. Was a quick find before heading of in the rain again.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
We had spoken about this cache around the camp lst night and it was Jason who convinced me to join the hunt.
Unfound for 12 months. Well worth a drive I think.
We headed off after breakfast....Jasenjanine, Dangermouse, Tangowithcupcakes, and myself. Along with our geokids.
A very bumpy ride with some sight seeing and we we arrived at the "parking area".
We wandered in and spied the camp area noting it to come back. A walk along the track and GZ was found. It was Dangermouse who made the find (with a little prodding from Tangowithcupcakes)
As we lift the cache out, we noticed the inch of water in the bottom and the soggy contents. Janine headed back to the car for a rubbish bag as the only thing salvageble (THANK GOODNESS) was the log book. We were disappointed the cache was wet, but wrapt that the log book has survived ( and approaching 10 years old)
We dried and cleaned out the container. We could spy a crack but it may be worth a future cacher bringing a new container. An ammo can would do this justice

Kyzabra has described beautifully our road trip here, Dangermouse's find and the repair to the cache. This has to be the most beautifully located Bibb Track hut that I have visited. We stayed for ages soaking in the view from the hut. Thanks trail geek for bringing us to this magic location.
Camping at Nanga Mill for the weekend for our event along the Fawcett Track, our only cache on our list for the weekend was this one... So Sunday morning after brekky we set off with to explore some of the Murray Fireline Trail. Kyzabra & Tangowithcupcake also decided that they would come along for the ride too
Up & down, round & round with a few stops along the way we arrived closeby to the Murray Campsite and made our way from there... It was Tango who spotted the likely place & with a bit of guidance DangerMouse09 soon had the prize in his hands [^]
TFTC & for bringing us out here trail geek... We stopped and checked out the campsite & the view for a while before heading back to camp. It is so serene out here, even with 5 noisy boys in tow
Cache was in poor condition. We did our best to clean it out & got rid of the holey bag which would have been making matters worse. It was safely tucked away & hopefully all should be good for now

Found this cache with my family (jasenjanine), Kyzabra & Tangowithcupcake. I had heaps of fun doing this cache, I liked the road & the campsite & playing with the boys... TFTC trail geek
Easy find after a tough day hiking with Cameron and jayden campsite is wicked right next to the river went for a swim tftc
Nice easy find on a 4wd adventure in the Nanga bush. The contents were a bit wet - tried to seal the container a bit better.
The cache was very wet, so we dried it as best we could, Fantastic spot along the river.
We are out of practice - it took us all day to walk here - I'm sure those hills weren't that big last time we walked this section .
Dropped our packs at the shelter, had a short rest and then retraced our steps the few metres to the cache. TFTH

Was so glad to see the shelter. Walked past the cache and dropped our packs first. Lots of hills today and very sore feet. After unloading we went back up the track and found the cache. TFTC
We had great fun in the mud coming by boat across the river then walked for a bit. Cache full of fun stuff. It is obvious where it is when you get there. Thanks for the cache. Cheers
Found our first Geocache, and being an Avid Track walker, enjoyed the bonus of visiting the Murray Campsite again, a great box full funny stuff and had a real giggle checking it out.
Tahnks for the suprise thoroughly enjoyed our first of Many

We decided to have more of a look around the Lane Pool Reserve so we headed off for this one Found it easily enough once at GZ. TNSL. Left balloon, coin and our calling card. This is a nice area with plenty of walkers and campers. TFTH & TFTC
Easy walk to find this one. Met a lovely man walking the Bibbulman track alone staying at the facilities. Thanks.
My interest in geocaching has waned to the point I am pulling out of the game. Where possible I would like to see my caches and trackables adopted by another cacher so if you are interested please contact me. However, caches which require maintenance or appear to have been muggled will be archived. Lang may yer hum reek! Andrew.

Very easy find. I camped at Murray River hut overnight and looked for the cache in the morning. Went straight to it.
Took the TB Homer Simpson by Aushiker's Gone Bushwalking.
Cache is in good condition.

Thanks Aushiker, for caching along the track - it provided a nice distraction after the main hike of the day. Found this one more easily - calibrating the compass of the GPSr worked wonders after some dodginess the day before. TNLN TFTC.
A real easy find (thanks to a 9 year old muggle who helped find it) - dont worry he wont steal or raid it - he was a nice kid. Dad had a GPSR with him so we explained geocaching and gave him co-ords of Dookanelly - hopefully we converted him - agai nice family and no issues with the cache being raided - we explained the concept of karma - take something and leave something.
Left: TB Doh (which by coincidence is owned by Aushiker).
Cache in good nick - though cant say the same for the Bibb Track from that point to Yarragil. It needed some maintenance in sections. We were also surprised to be stopped by a guy hurtling down the bibb track in car with big mean dogs - fitted with tracking devices. Obviosuly on a pig hunt. He was looking for a dog that had gone bush and asked us to look at for it (as if we would!). Got the rego so might be a report to the Bibb Track police for follow up.
Lovely site the Murray hut.

We were camping nearby at the Lane pool reserve so we took time out to stretch our legs. We started off in the car as we thought 7km was a bit far to walk after the nights festive imbibing of the grape juice. We thought we would only be able to get within a few km of the cache but the track was easy and looked like it was open all the way. We however decided it was better to stop at the Bib track crossing point and walked the last km (GPS 1km). It was truely a beautiful walk following the river at times and up and over some rather large hills. We did wonder how well we would go with 20kg on our backs. We found the cache in the sort of place it should be. There was a bit of water in it (damp) so we dried it and placed a bag around it. It looks like the lid allows water to pool in its ridge but we couldnt find any splits in the plastic. It should be OK withe the bag around it. We took the chinese coins and added the anodised Clips. We would recommend this as a great walk as long as you use the Bib track like we did. Dont drive up to the area and spook the walkers. Thanks AusHiker for a 10 out of 10 cache
Picked the wrong day weatherwise to tackle this one, with the temp close to 40 deg and very humid. what we thought was going to be a 1.5 km walk each way turned into 3.5km.
It was a peaceful walk and we saw no-one else at all. Managed to find a nice little stream where we stopped to cool off on the way back to our car. We got back to our campsite at Nanga about 18.45 only to find that the whole of Lane Pool Reserve had been evacuated due to fires near Pinjarra so it was a mad dash to get everything packed up and head home. We had just enough energy left to complete the task.
Thanks Aushiker for the challenging task of finding the cache.
Took - Bicycle repair kit
Left - Calling Card, Buddha, Chinese Lucky Coin and souvenir spoon.
There was no 'Little Bike travel' bug in the cache - according to the logbook it was taken by Team Landcruiser on 30-9-2006 but as yet hasn't been logged on website.

An easy find with Kath and two grand-children in tow , along a beautiful part of the river. T: Earrings (for Brianna), L: Purple Putty, SL. Thanks to Aushiker for the cache.
We were in the area for an overnight camp but we didnt have plans to find this cache as we know time didnt permit it but we did have time for a short drive along the Nanga 4WD circuit and we managed to get within 270m of the cache but it was across the river and the swim looked like it was in deep stagnant water. We took a stoll along the river enjoying the solitude and then hopped back in the car as time was running out and we have to get back to civilisation. We will return and most likely camp at Lane pool and find it from that direction.
Day cruzin the area for the day doing a few caches in the area. From the cache description I thought I might be in for a bit of a walk. However River road takes you within about 70 metres of the cache, and there is a small area to park your car there.

This cache was great as it involved some 4x4 as well - any opportunity to play in the mud especially good after the heavy rain on Sat night. Had walked this part of the Bib Track on a previous occasion but weren't into geo'ing then. Found cache without much trouble but it was full of water - dried out as best we could.
We are "doing" this section of track, taking photos and painting bush scenes for an art exhibition. Finding this cache was an added part of our entertainment. TNLNSL T4TH
We were camping at Lane Poole reserve and decided to take the back way out along the Fireline rd and drove straight to camp site and found cache which had been taken over by a family of cockroaches so we evicted them and cleaned up container & took TB Kookie Thanks for the great drive and scenery
Latest advice is the the fire did not get to Murray Campsite, it came within 5 km, so enabling this cache.
Due to the fire in Lane Poole Reserve which is near this location, I am disabling this cache until I can get down there to check on things.
Spent the weekend camping in the Lane Poole Reserve again this last weekend. Had grand plans of crossing the Murray in our little blow up raft from a point I found the weekend before. However these came unstuck when it got punctured on Saturday arvo playing around in the water pool near Tom's Crossing.
Found access to the cache no problems as I followed the Murray River Fireline 4x4 track all the way to the access point for Murray Campsite. S32.52.045 E116.08.337. This left approx 100m walk. Had intended to walk the 1.5k's along the track however when following the route had entered the actual cache waypoint as one of the route points and kept following the track. Thought this is funny as I thought I had a 1.5k walk.
Once near GZ looked everywhere and looked in what i thought was the obvious spot (tree stump) and could find. We were about to give up the hunt when I dropped the GPS only to find the cache sitting right there. How did I miss it before.
Pick up Philosphers Stone TB and dropped Kookie into this cache.
We swapped some things but can't remember what they were now.
Thanks for the hunt.

Hi TLC. Access the way you attempted is technically closed, but have been given permission previously to come in that way by CALM Dwellingup. Legitimate access is available via Driver Road, but checking of the waterlevels at the Murray River crossing is needed in winter. This is on the edge of the dieback restriction area and is okay according to my maps. This is the common access to the Bibbulmun Track in the area.

We attempted to gain access to the cache via Pinjarra williams Rd. unsuccessfully as all the tracks in are through dieback restricted area's ... so we assumed it can only be accessed from within the lane poole reserve. Didn't have time to walk in 7km's from Murray Rd. or back track to lane poole so it'll have to wait till next time we're in the area.
Phew!!! at last found the cache. great bushland & walk.... Took: TB Andy's World Traveler and put it back to the cache. Thanks for the hunt....
Enjoyed the scenery of busland and walking. Found it quickly and swapped with other TBS. Dropped TB: Philosophers's Stone. Thanks for sharing the spot with us.
Enjoyed the drive down the track and the walk into the cache. I had a little trouble finding it as both GPS's had me near another obvious hiding spot further off the track. I've added a slightly different waypoint as both of the GPS's averaged the same numbers the 15 minutes I was at the cache.
Took TB and left TB Andy's World Traveler Bug.
Thanks for the cache Aushiker.
