DNF 8/06/13 15:30 . After checking out the serenity of the lake I suggested to my muggle friends that we take a short walk for this cache (although the 3 previous DNFs did not exactly fill me with hope [B)])
Alas, like the prior searchers we came away empty handed
Alas, like the prior searchers we came away empty handed
DNF @ 16:00 with Muggle-L. We had a limited time frame in which to find, so after about 15 minutes with no luck, we abandoned the search.
Thanks anyway Dr Klig.
Thanks anyway Dr Klig.
Our Easter Sunday cache hunt had been going so well... only to be thwarted at Daylesford by this cache! There were just way too many muggles for us to do a hunt justice. We've never seen the lake so busy, even at Christmas! Had to content ourselves that a band of teen cachers (we think) were also looking as luckless, in amongst the constant groups of muggles making the round trip. Will have to stow this one for another day [B)] Luckily, we still had a happy day out at Daylesford!
Found this one in the school holidays. Had a bunch of ninjas, for a couple of them it was their first time and now they're addicted.
I was stumped, but my little one who has a knack for getting into tin places found it.
Took some clips left a surprise.!

My goodness. A 7 year only cache. Now that's getting rare. The co-ords were excellent at this cache location and after 7 years the cache still looks in excellent condition. A quick log and then back to the car in the beautiful weather this afternoon.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Dr Klig for this cache here this afternoon.

Great cache near the caravan park. Lots of dirty pants from scrambling after this one. Another one found with one half of The Gloucester Roadies and family. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Had unknowingly come within metres of this cache the day before. Feel much better that we returned to find it. +gc. TFTC

# 285 - after a nice walk around the lake we came to this beautiful spot. While we were here a local was here and it's running more than she's ever seen it in 30 years, great! A nice quick hunt for the cache, signed the log and we were off again, TFTC Dr Klig
Went looking with my venturer group while hiking..

on short noticed a 4x4 trip was organized and I found myself in BigRed the Toyota landcruser (sorry I mean the Nissan Patrol) of 3up. That day had some fun 4WD and some caches thrown in for good fun with company from Tigersden, Smegheads, 3Up and my partner in causing trouble Ali J.
This cache was the first for the trip for us all and 3UP made the quick find while everyone else looked in the wrong places. TFTC

A first find for our little group of intrepid cachers on a 4WD & caching adventure. Good way to start what was a very fun (albeit slightly muddy ) day. TFTC
A short walk and a quick find. Loved the old structure, a great place for a hide. Thanks for the cache.
Found in fading light after a really pleasant walk. Little Miss Gourmet took small chicken, left coke key ring. TFTC.
I originally posted a DNF back in January. Back then I approached GZ from down stream and found myself amounst a large swarm of bees. Quite a rush! This time, no bees and an easy find at this great location. Thanks
This was a very easy fine for Geo wife.
Took nothing left Geo coin.
Very good location, considering a holiday there.

Lovely place for cache loved the bridge. Thanks for bringing us here. Found with jk gamblers.
On a family outing up to Spa country, this was our 7th of about 20 in 3 fun filled days. nice drive by, thanks for the stop. this is very close to a great caravan park, we called this home for 2 nights and loved it, they even deliver papers to cabin residents. Now that is serious caravan etiquette. highly recommended.
Found him with 6 hinemoa2 whilst on a days hike.A nice little lake, thank you Dr Klig
Stopped for morning tea at this lovely picnic ground while out walking with the Ballarat Bushwalking club. Decided that I would check this out before we moved on. Signed the log and caught up with our group who were about to head off.

After lunch nearby we wandered down to this cache, only to find we could have driven and had lunch nearby the cache. Blackberries near by looked inviting. What a pity the railway was removed - they could be pulling in the $$$'s now. When we got to the cache we found it very exposed, so we did some remedial work.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt Dr Klig.

Bees lots of bees! I found myself walking amount bee hives and the bees seemed to take a fancy to me landing on my shirt and head. Facinatingly scary! But calmy walked out of there.
A lovely short walk & pretty nice bridge . No tb in this cache. Took 5c and a well needed hair scrunch on a hot day. Left Lego & small toy. Tftc
We could have found it in the first five minutes.....but it was much more fun to clamber over every shrub rail stump and rock within cooee for 40 minutes first..!! Left nothing...(this cache is a little over populated), but took #23...no surfinsafari which is a shame as we were on our way to Great Ocean Road...
Took me a while at the bridge to figure out where the cache would be. I looked at it's exact spot a few times, just that it was covered in bark so I couldn't pick out the hide. There's a decent number of DNFs at this cache, I can't give the hide away but there's a huge bridge right in front of you, where would you stick the cache out of reach?
Easy find after listening to a Swiss-Italian family sing-a-long in the park. Continued around the lake to finish the day.

5.30pm - We had been looking forward to the oportunity to revist this cache after not being able to find it the first time. FF was the first to spot it... in a spot we're sure we looked last time. Oh well, at least we can stop feeling foolish now.
No sign of SurfinSafari.
Left GEOF Fox #23, 2 GeoRecipe cards, a goose and a chicken. Took NZ coin.
This is such a beautiful bridge. An unexpected surprise as you stroll around the lake.
Cache has moisture inside and log book is a little damp.

Dropped in to this picturesque spot after leaving a meeting at Daylesford. No-one about today, probably because it was bloody freezing! Easy find once the GPS settled down and stopped sending me 50m further on than I needed to be. TNLN. Thanks.
Have found previously. Showing friends the joys of Geocaching whilst staying nearby.
Have been often in this area but this is the first
time as a cacher. Despite the rain we went for this one
and it took only a few minutes to find it. Nice hide in a
beautiful ( autumn colored ) park.

Feeling a bit foolish but after 20 min of looking we still couldn't find it. Had to stop when muggles arrived. Such a wonderful location. Thanks for bringing us here!
After no luck fishing, we tried our luck at the cache as we were close to GZ.
We actually found this on the same day as KI bug, but we left our swaps behind for Geo pre-teen to swap, so we came back a couple of days later.
As KI bug are/were, we were staying very close by (we left today). Unknowingly, we must have crossed paths with them at some stage. It's a beautiful and peaceful spot to stay & it won't be our last visit here.
Took small torch & left turtle.

Found on a morning walk, avoiding rain, mud, puddles and muggles. We are staying very nearby so had to do this one and it had quite a surprise ending - loved the structure and location in general. T: TB and crocodile (no place for one of those here!) L: ladybug Thanks Dr Klig for the cache, exercise and the little piece of history.
1117. Living in the district, I had been leaving this one for a special occasion. Passing on a travel bug I held for 2 weeks was such. I over inferred from the description so over complicated the search but A+ and I got there in the end. Beautiful morning, lake glassy, and muggles at the GZ moved on soon after our arrival. TN, left Nurnberg postcard travel bug. TFTC.
This is a beautiful place to visit. We had a picnic and went canoeing before setting off to find the cache.Thankyou.
We've been to the lake before but not looked for a cache. This is a lovely spot to visit. TFTC
GPS on iPhone playing up. Not good reception. Couldn't work out which side it was on. Lovely place.
Found this cache. Kids got to see a waterfall.
Lovely place with great facilities close at hand. Will definately be back here. Thanks for leading us here Dr. Klig.

It was a lovely day out for the whole family for the first time since my holiday started. The trip to GZ took us a long a nicely manicured path around the lake. Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for taking us there.

Continuing our Victorian sojourn we only had time for a single cache in Daylesford today. Beautiful spot, this lake, and the cache gave us an excuse to do the circuit. Crossed the old bridge and when I continued up the hill I saw how it used to be a rail bridge. Found the cache in the logical spot and dropped in a TB and a pencil, geodaughter took some headbands and dropped in some dice. No sign of listed TB. Continued on around the boggy track past many fallen trees. Must have had some serious rain. Thanks!
You're right about this being a lesser known spot. We're camping here in the middle of school holidays and it's all but empty!! OK - maybe the unseasonally bitterly cold weather has something to do with it, but we're enjoying the space and quiet!
Made the wander over here after breakfast at the tent for an easy and satisfying find... Waterfall in full flow today. Wonderful.
