Hello,

Thanks JABs! The cache may be up and running again by then; I'm working on creating a new hide but can only do a little each trip out there.

31-Oct-08
If you have any TB or coins that need to go back to the main land please drop them into this event and I will take them.

Needs checking. Sad

26-Aug-08
Had a go at this one today before flying out and no joy. I followed the clues to the letter and spend 10 minutes with a stick poking around. Could this have been muggled?

07-Aug-08
GPS and hint were quite in agreement but we just couldn't see it if it's still there...
Given the recent activity around this area it wouldn't be had to imagine it being found by a muggle worker

Just so others know, I have been monitoring the construction near this cache. The area where it is hidden seems to be being spared, so I don't plan on moving it at this stage. I'm trying to find a balance between being within an easy leg-stretch of the airport, far enough away it isn't a worry to the AFP, and able to be logged by people not actually going to the airport. I'm updating the description: if you are visiting the cache and not the airport, it may be easiest to park before the cache.

18-Jun-08
Quick easy find on the way to a clients. Hopefully all the work out at the Airport doesn't disturb this cache.
Dropped off Gerbera Microcoin. Looks a bit empty though. TFTC.

01-Jun-08
Nice easy found. Took two TBs PCRRCG and CHDGEX. Thanks

08-May-08
My last cache in Tasmania...Sad
Found him while we wait for our plane...

08-May-08
Our last Cache in Tasmania. It was a great trip and we had "a devil of a time".

28-Apr-08
Am logging in and out a GC that was found here but still showing as being in Victoria, to get the correct mileage.

27-Apr-08
I love TB hotels. I picked up a few TBs on my way out of Tasmania.

19-Apr-08
A good spot for the traveller. We did not take or leave anything. Thanks!

15-Apr-08
A nice easy find, (happily not accosted by Airport's Federal Police this time)and raided the treasure trove of TBs to take to the North Island. Left GCs to tour some more of Tasmania.
Thanks for the hunt, Snuva.

15-Apr-08
What a treasure trove of trackables. Given they were all shown in the departures lounge we decided to move a fair few - none of them appear to have been listed in the back of the log look, so we're not sure what their missions are.
TFTC.

30-Mar-08
There looks to be a new road or some development in this area so it may pay to keep an eye on this or move it to a slightly different location.

30-Mar-08
Looks like a new road is going in behind here so it will pay to keep an eye on this so that it doesn't get destroyed or maybe move it now.
We dropped off frog travel bug in departures. Both bags were empty and there were loose coins just laying in the cache so we put these in departures as well. At least they will go on a journey somewhere.
TFTC Snuva

27-Mar-08
Lot's of new roadwork occurring at this location, very damp underfoot. Was able to engage 4WD and drive to GZ. Not usually the case I would say. TFTC

26-Mar-08
Found with Dicko, Little Miss Muggle, Team Crackers, Pprass and Spruce Mooses, a quick find when on mass.
Left 3 x Coins.
Thanks Snuva,

26-Mar-08
Found at 11.05am GAFF1. It must have looked odd to other commuters when a group of 5 or 6 4wd's with some towing camper vans suddenly pull up at the entrance to the airport. We sauntered over to GZ and found the cache quickly - nearly stood on it! Thanks Snuva - left a few TB's (sorry, didn't know that they had to go in specific bags, however we didn't know their respective intentions in any case.)

26-Mar-08
Found 11:30, on a wet and miserable morning. We always find caches near airport property somewhat worrying.

TNLN, CSI=1, thanks Snuva.

26-Mar-08
Found with Victorian group. Left 3 coins, took whale coin. Will have to drop them in when we get some real internet time.

26-Mar-08
Found on our way to Port Authur in convoy with a lot of the Victorian teams that are visiting. Found easy signed log and left 3 TB's discovered 2.

23-Mar-08
easy find although it was a little exposed. Took TB annas clogs left TB diabetes hawaiin gardens

09-Mar-08
Found while waiting for our plane back to Perth. Dropped off Sushi Bob TB and Snarg's Northern Right Whale TB, and collected EL-NICO TB for the trip back home. Thanks Snuva.

Picarow and I had to wait for monsoon rains to abate before we dashed across the street to this cache. No TBs here! Picarow left some. TFTC!

23-Feb-08
Picarow here with the family circus. Traded bugs.

23-Feb-08
Dropping a bug.

12-Feb-08
agree with the post coment... but what a great hide ... this will last aa while i presume ... there is extensive road work in the area but it all looks as if it will pass the cache by.

retrieved TB to move hinm to warmer places.

20-Jan-08
Dropped off Kingu the kangaroo who now wants to go back home to Denmark. Left in the Departure "lounge".

Felt very conspicuous as had to park some distance away and walk on side of road due to newly installed posts.

Thanks for the cache and hope that someone's going OS and can help Kingu on his/her way.

16-Dec-07
My first Tasmanian cache (fancy that - it being right at athe airport and all). TFTC.

15-Dec-07
Quick find right out of the airport. Well hidden, but close to the road. Doing a personal coin drop and picked up the TB. Dropped off a bracelet. TFTC.

08-Dec-07
Dropped by on the way out to pick up a hitchhiker "our grand tassie holiday" and give it a ride back to the mainland.

18-Nov-07
Usually a good spot for a cache but at the present time there is work going on in the area but it is just posts being installed on the road sides so I expect the vehicles will not be there for long. Thanks Snuva

18-Nov-07
Dropped in on the way home to drop off a TB but as work is going on right nearby I thought better to pick "All Bets Are Off" Out of the arrivals bag. Thanks for this cache Snuva

11-Nov-07
Pulled over on the way in to nab the last cache of a great Tassie trip. As well as the great bushwalking to Frenchman's Cap, the caching for a few days around Hobart has been great fun! Not all plain sailing but that is to be expected and was often my fault, but lots of great spots, good hides, and generally excellent coordinates. Next time I am goung to have to pay more attention to the multi's and puzzles! Thanks Snuva for the cache and Tassie caches for the fun. Was in a hurry so didn't move any TB's sorry.

21-Oct-07
Checked on cache and placed 'Spike' here. Spike would like to make it to Sydney!

On our way home on a very cold very windy Tasmanian day. The Queenslanders were freezing!!!!! Our last cache in Tasmania!!! A fitting place we felt to drop off our brand new travel bug. It has already seen Tasmania so anywhere else in the world would be great. Thanks for a last cache!

27-Sep-07
Found at 1310. Easy find.

T - Joilion TB.

13:35
Visited this site (first time) on my way back to the mainland (after 4 days of conferencing) to drop off TB Joilion (461513). Suggestion - perhaps the cache container could be a bit larger and perhaps sunk into the ground? If you have more than a couple of visitors then it will be very crowded. Current resident - Tony the Turbo was just a bit too large to fit in my travel bag, so I was unable to provide him with a lift. As a result things are a bit tight at the Hotel.

TFTC - SL and left TB.

02-Sep-07
Drove out today especially to pick up a travel bug or geocoin to take with me this week when I go interstate. Not much to choose from but did take a coin that SOD still needs to log as having left. TFTC Snuva.

Here be tha coin.

22-Aug-07
Just a quick note
I will be heading up to Townsville in a few weeks if any one wants a tb or coin to go north drop it off and I will check before I go

Arr, a nice quick find, nice an' easy fer tha pirate in a rush! Grabbed a few bugs 'n' coins, an chucked a few in as well. Can't remember which, so I'll put a note up sayin' which ones were put in, when I can check me luggage ta see what bugs 'n' coins I don't have no more! Haha! Me last treasure chest afore searchin' in lands afar!

18-Jul-07
Just dropped by on way from Sydney, later I dropped in the Kiwi geocoin which wants to get to Perth.

15-Jul-07
This cache is really close to home - finally got around to visiting it. Dropped off 'Come Together - Yang' Geocoin. Picked up Sylvester Pink flamingo..... TFTC.

04-Jul-07
My intention was to find the cache, grab a TB or two from the departure lounge and then depart myself … but such was not to be. I achieved the first two goals (picking up the 50 States Round Tuit, and the Ocean Racing TB) but then Hobart airport got fog-bound and I had to reorganise my plans. I escaped the next day, and have managed to reschedule my onward flights to Korea ... so the TBs may see a little more of the world. TN apart from the the TBs, LN and SL. Thanks, Snuva. I might take some of the arrival lounge bugs on my next trip down, since I want to find some more Tasmanian caches.

03-Jul-07
Just pulled in to escort a cat and a wombat from the departure lounge. Also started a coin on its journey.

08-May-07
Temporarily moving 'Event Hound' microcoin into the TB Hotel. We should have an event for it to attend in the next month or two - perhaps it can get a lift back to the mainland as well. . .

07-May-07
Dropping a Signal coin and two travel bugs in before re-setting the cache.

06-May-07
Came to check on cache as I'd heard reports that the area was becoming more difficult to access. Yes, there are now posts beside road - but even worse, a tree has just come down on it and cracked it. So taken back to HQ for new container, etc

In our tour of 'caches around the airport' this afternoon, I mainly just wanted to check out the location for future reference, but junior 'cacher "Freddie" got a bit interested in the Travel Bug idea, and has decided to help Tim the Turtle pursue his goal of heading South...

21-Mar-07
First of four finds after arriving on a late afternoon flight. This was my first Southern Tasmanian cache find. I had updated the firmware in my GPSr just before leaving home, and this was the first cache I had subsequently tried to find. It was a nightmare! The needle was swinging wildly! One minute the cache was 72m at 3 o'clock. If I moved that way, it woud say 68m at 7 o'clock. Then 81m at 11 o'clock. Sad This went on for five minutes or so, and I was starting to wonder whether I was the victim of some strange emissions from the airport. Then I decided to check the active compass in the GPSr. Sure enough, the firmware upgrade had turned it on, and it wasn't calibrated. I turned the compass off, and peace returned to the world. Now I was taken directly to the cache for an easy find at 1735 (although I did give the large stump nearby a good workout!). I exchanged several TBs. Thanks to Snuva for the cache. Cheers, dak.

IN: Tony the Turbo TB, Tim the Turtle TB, If I had Wings...I'd Fly! TB, Hee, Hee, Hee, That Tickles TB, and Sylvester the Flamingo TB
OUT: Catootje TB, Dyver Dolphin TB, Koala The Agent TB, Happy BDay 3 TB, and LeRoy's Aussie Coin #3 Geocoin

Dropped by to pick up a few TB's for our trip to the mainland tomorrow...

I'm not sure we parked in the right place, but we ended up with the crowd waiting for the "OK come and pick me up" mobile call from the airport. It took us longer than it should to find - the first mate needs to have more faith in the GPSr.

We dropped off Little Digby TB to start her journey back to America, via Canada. Help her find her way to big Digby in Michigan!

Thanks for the useful cache Snuva!

23-Feb-07
Just dropped by to see where this one was for future reference. I will be back. thanks snuva

16-Feb-07
Dropped back in to drop the little lady into the hotel, she really enjoyed her trip around Tassie and now she is ready to start her trip home with someone going that way.
We have heaps of photos for the owner to show her travels.

As 'tis the season to visit Tassie, I'm dropping in two travel bugs who have missions that involve leaving the state. Both are currently checked into the Departure Lounge. Sleep well, and may your adventures continue soon!

'Koala the Agent', who was passed to Snuva by a friendly Czech geomuggle, would like to Cairns (Queensland) by October 2007.

'Where the Buffalo Roam' would like to make it home near Buffalo, New York state, USA.

Note: the area around the cache can still be easily walked to even though you currently cannot park as close as you could a week ago. I have not moved it as 1) I would like it to be an easy walk from the airport without being too close and 2) I worry that holidaying cachers might have already downloaded waypoints! I shall keep a watch on the area!

12-Dec-06
Our first Tassie cache. Easy find. Had to park down the road and walk back, as the parking along the road was roped off. My wife noticed we logged it at 12.12pm on the 12th 2006 after flying in from Sydney. Thanks Snuva. TNLNSL.

06-Dec-06
Easy find..no travel bugs with me..so TNLNSL TFTC Cheers.

Maintenance visit and TB drop. Also logging 'The whistle', which I found in the cache but is still logged into another cache. There is no log saying who dropped it in, so unsure how log it has been here.

Found this one without paulus and cacherboy after dropping off some family members at the airport. I've put Magically Delicious in here to send him on his mission to Dublin Ireland.
Thanks for this cache Snuva.

21-Aug-06
Found with no difficulty, perfect spot for a travel bug lounge, pity there was nobody there that wanted a trip to Melbourne Sad Thanks...

08-Aug-06
Found while waiting for some relies to land. Nearly gave up on it and then nearly walked into out while leaving the area to get back in the car. Took 'Hawthorn' TB, LNSL...

09-Jul-06
We are en route to Adelaide, so are just dropping off the Hawthorn Leaf TB, in the hope that someone will show it around Tassie. We have photographed it at a nearby heritage hawthorn hedge and will post the photo when we work out our new computer technology!!!

07-May-06
Logging into our 'home' TB hotel before heading off for adventures in the US!!

16-Apr-06
Found this one quickly even though the GPS was pointing in a different direction. Grabbed the "Sideshow Bob TB" for a trip to South Oz. Hope he hasnt been there before.

02-Apr-06
Easy find. No swapping or bugging today but location noted for future reference. Parked a bit far away but the wander did me some good . . . TNLNSL thanks

26-Mar-06
Well I don't know what all the fuss was about concerning spiders and webs. But the mozzies, now that was another issue. Thanks for the Aeroguard, it was most welcome. We spent a bit of time here filling in the logs etc, but well concealed from prying eyes, we got down to business. This was a good one, and gave us a chance to swap some Travel Bugs.

25-Feb-06
An easy find after waiting, waiting, waiting! Traffic muggles were in abundance.

No bugs to travel Tassie, so TNLNSL. Thanks Snuva.

16-Feb-06
Not wanting to attract too much attention at this one with the amount of traffic and with it being where it is, I stumbled in alone to look for the cache, I gave up after collecting EVERY spider web in the area, clearing the way for CraigRat to have a go. He looked and came out in about 2 minutes proudly prclaiming a find, and musing about the lack of spiders webs!

I then went in and found it pretty well straight away, after clearing the only two webs I missed the first time - grrrr.

Took nothing but left the Oahu Gypsy TB in the departure lounge for future travels.

16-Feb-06
Wow, a brave place to hide, but it should do some good business.

It took a little while to find, but found in the end!!

Thanks

25-Jan-06
Just been to the airport to collect Grannie, so on the way out we dropped in to collect Lars the Norwegian Fjord Horse and introduce Grannie to geocaching.

Netballer loves horses and Quilter has been known to ride in a past life. Will introduce Lars to Rebel and Mischief, Quilters Quarter Horses.

Left a bottle of aeroguard (provided by Snuva the cache owner) for future cache finders. Worked this time as no Mozzies attacked!

Cheers Quilter

21-Jan-06
Just dropped into this to get its location for future reference - I will return in the future!

16-Jan-06
Called in to pick up Oregon TB as per owners request. TB there but we couldn't find where he had been logged in. Then got attacked by mozzies........ so quickly scribbled something in log. With Owners permission I think I will drop back by and put in a can of aeroguard, because it is a perfect hide for the hotel.

Cheers Quilter

15-Jan-06
Bit of cache maintenance & check on someone's bug (and I forgot the bug's name, so left it in my mistake after I thought Caxixi had picked it up - oooopp!)

Also noted that the Norwegian Fjord Horse TB is in the hotel but hasn't been logged in yet. I suspect the cachers he was travelling with haven't had time to log yet, so please leave him be until logs catch up with him.

13-Jan-06
We stopped by to drop off a travel bug and found the site quite easily--our first in Tasmania

10-Jan-06
Could someone, please help my TB Greeting's from Oregon move along, it has been in this cache since... June 2005! Thanks in advance, for helping me out. Nomadic Man
