Cache is wet again, the area is flooded, so have remove it, and wont replace.

Try "flooded over" rather than "iced over". The whole area, ie all the tree area was completely underwater, and we're not just talking a wee puddle or two here! Will try for it another time...maybe another season?
Saw picture so changed container to a smaller screw top, guess the expensive containers aren't water proof.

Iced over, iced under, and completely iced through!! Crunched through the fog, snow, and ice to get to this one. New container wasn't waterproof either: it had filled up then frozen solid! See the picture of the cache contents. Very funny!

Didn't find this one. Not sure it is still there based on previous notes about container being broken. Still it was fun trying.
A quick find in the early morning, but the container and everything inside is very wet, because the lid is broken. We left a piece of paper and a dry plastic bag with our log.

What a nice rest area this is. The pond looked very peaceful with all the yellow trees sourrounding it. There was one camper parked, fortunately not too close to GZ, so we could search for the cache without any disturbance.
The cache was filled with water (we hardly managed to sign the log), the lid of the container is broken. We emptied out the water and when re-hiding, tried to cover it as good as possible with the ripped plastic bag.

Quick easy find at 0900. No muggles about. Took GC HCO???. Left toy whistle and Nanango Sticker. The container is damaged in one corner and water was in the container and the bag containing the goodies. I have dried out the container and the goodies. The goodies are no loose in the container and the plastic bag is wrapped around the damaged end of the container. TFTC
Found with Imgettingannoyed during our 3 n half week NZ mega cache mission!!
What a beautiful spot!! I'd love to see it iced over! Took some fantastic photo's of the reflective lake.

Awesome spot.
Was very still today which allowed for some awesome pictures to be taken of the lake.
Cache container is broken and whilst still dry it will more than likley get very wet when the rains come

Passed some muggles on the way to the cache site but no problems as they were enjoying a cuppa in the shade. Nice spot. TFTC
Despite a high muggle concentration of people who have set up camps for the night We used walk in a circle subterfuge and found the cache. Good one. TFTC
Quick find along my way to Lake Tekapo. But had to hide from camping muggles.
BTW: there was no ice

No ice today, although it was getting a bit chilly again. No campers around, had the place to myself. TFTC
Quick find, no trade. There were no trackables in the cache. Another team from Germany was here before, we saw in the logbook, and they took the trackable, but they haven't registerd.

A slightly more difficult cache (for us) that had me walking in the wrong direction while the Gps just didn't change (pointer or distance), while Kath walked in the other direction and eventually found the cache. T: panda toy, L: keyring, SL. Thanks to Bitsprayer for the cache.
A very quick find on the way back to Chch from Wanaka. No ice on the pond as yet...

Very scenic at this time of year - glad we waited to do this cache this morning rather than trying it last night. Fun seeing the ducks paddling around in all the autumn leaves on the pond!!

Found on our way over to Christchurch. The early morning mists have cleared and there are wonderful views.
What a great rest area, driven past many times but never visited. Nice try putting lettuce outside the rabbit holes!
Can't get over the scenery around here, and the view of Mt Cook was stunning. TNLN
This place reminded us of forests in Yugoslavia where we had been 15 years ago. Found cache
quickly and enjoyed the short stroll. Thanks!

good excuse for a stop on a long journey tftc, left t.b a bit closer to his destination.
We stopped at this pretty little rest area with lots of friendly ducks en route to Twizel for morning tea and found the cache with no trouble at all. TFTC
One of a series of very enjoyable caches we found on our 10 day tour of the the South Island. Searching for caches along the way made it far more exciting than it would have been otherwise and took us to all sorts of interesting places we would not of found otherwise.
