Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
Interesting sculptures along the way. Nice quick find and lovely lookout to the ocean. TFTC
More awesome views of this stunning coastline, some really excellent artwork and an old cache. Definitely worth the detour to come in to Elliston. TFTC diesel69.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 13 - Elliston to Ceduna via Port Kenny, Streaky Bay and Smokey Bay. The day began after a very windy night with two coastal cliff drives. The Artwork was an added bonus along the way. I fell into a well laid trap to buy some extra food and made several side trips along well made unsealed dirt roads. In Streaky bay I looked around at the area we played a new years eve show back in 1983 or so. Once I was back on the main highway to Ceduna and Norseman, the caching slowed down as I have been this way several times before. I tried a great multi in Ceduna, but failed at the last hurdle on a gun before retiring for the evening. Now on the northern section of the coastal cliff drive, there was the amazing artwork to admire as well as the three caches along the way. Still windy, but for this first one, I was far enough from the edge for it not to be a problem. I did not realise it was such an old cache. Thanks for the cache diesel6946698.3 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 10000 Finds A#252**Albida**
This eagles nest is my favourite sculpture and the views of Elliston are stunning. Tftc

OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Enjoying the sculpture trail and finding a few caches. Even on a grey and windy day its still a beautiful spot! Tftc
Ocw the Bebes as we stay in the area. Decided to do the sculpture trail today and pick up caches along the way. Easy find at GZ. Tftc
Staying in Elliston a few days, and headed out to explore this morning. Enjoyed the spectacular scenery and fun sculptures along this drive, stopping for a cache hunt or 2 as well. No problems locating this one with a view over the bay. Thanks for the hide diesel69
On our way from Perth to Adelaide we also did this scenic drive. As a bonus two more smilies are on the map. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache!
#5227 Camped nearby we were off for an explore today and started by driving along the speccy clifftops checking out the sculptures and views beyond. A nice quick find here, TFTC diesel69.

Vic school holidays so kids and I are road tripping to explore the Eyre Peninsula. What stunning views! Thanks for the fun and adventure!
Took a drive down to Elliston cause it was there and the weather was not conductive to fishing. Getting out of the car at the lookout, had second thoughts as the car was warm and outside was f'n cold, drizzly and did I mention COLD. Well the GPS had me heading to the cliff edge and the gale strength northerly winds pushed me in the right direction. All I had to do was apply the brakes when getting close to GZ.
Approaching GZ spotted a pale green object so adjusted the sail a tad west. It wasn't the cache but something just valuable. Then I spotted the cache. Well I like this spot and this cache, well worth the trip down from Venus Bay. Thanks diesel69 for a reason to visit.

My 8th day of my trip heading to and around the Eyre Peninsular. Stayed at Wave Rock last night then headed back to the coast and arriving in Coulta for the night. This cache would be find number 19 of 35 for the day and find Number 178 in total for this trip away.
I managed to get the cache and see most of the Monuments but unfortunately they were doing work and the Road was blocked leaving 1/2 the track inaccessible. I enjoyed the ones I did see.

Sadly this one was inaccessible. Road blocked from both ends at some distance and full of large trucks and graders and worker folk who didn't look impressed.
Hopefully the cache is safe from the works they are doing and we'll get back for a better try another day!
Thanks for the challenge anyway diesel69 ,
will place on the watch list and return asap or when it's been found or maintained!

On our way to Streaky Bay from Port Lincoln. We stopped in this town for lunch and an explore of town and caching. We ate our lunch observing the awesome views. TFTC
Nice quick find with Com084. Lovely big pod of dolphins in the waters. Log signed and replaced as found. TFTC.
Great spot, nice and easy to access and enjoyed the sculptures and views.
GreyHams and myself set out on a three day SA caching trip after a super early start to the first day. The best start really though as by 9am and two planes later we had landed in Port Lincoln and into our rental car ready to set off! Local Government areas were our primary target, although many others of interest made the list, oldies, types and DT... Each offered some unique and often spectacular location, if your cache made our list, thank you!
Day 1 saw us landing in Port Lincoln and caching our way up towards Ceduna, a long but productive day saw us driving into Port Augusta just on dark a solid 12 hours after we had set off on the road.
Day 2 and we made the drive north from Port Augusta where we were based for the trip. The scenery on the drive to Roxby Downs changed often from little salt bush plains, shrub, salt lakes and to the amazing vast flat and empty, I loved the vast flat views... always spotting something in the middle of all the nothingness. Emus featured in huge numbers often, red dirt appeared... something I have been seeking so it was great to see it and finally get my feet into it all! Back into Port Augusta we set off for a loop in the south of the Flinders towards Quorn and out to Orroroo before returning just as the sun set to collect the last pizzas just as the shop shut for the day.
Day 3 was our last but just as full, although we only needed to get to Port Lincoln for our plane home late in the day we had many caches of interest plus a few walks along the way so took most of the day to make the distance leaving the odd cache off as we watched the clock!
Each day was full of such varied scenery, all quite stunning in their own way and led to a very enjoyable and fun trip. Thank you for your cache that guided us through the area and helped to highlight some of the great locations we got to visit.

We enjoyed the sculptures on the drive in, and the eagles near GZ are really cool

Aquilus1 & myself on yet another caching mission into South Australia, this time it was to go out west to collect all the LGA's out there.
This area of South Australia is so interesting as you can drive and be in a completely different planet within an hour. Red gums, to mallee scrub, to saltbush, to nothingness and then back again!
STarting and finishing in Port Lincoln, but with Port Augusta as our main base we explored the Eyre Peninsula, east out to Ororroo and north to Roxby Downs. It was a short but fun little trip. Thanks to all the CO's for placing caches
