Joined up with covert to do a few caches over the period of the night. We met at our usual rendevouz and for a change we had no real plans for the night, we were just going to wing it. We ended up in the Ferntree Gully area and ended up caching around here for a while. As it turns out i'll be passing by here again the next day to go to Puffing Billy with the family. It is a really nice area and the gums and ferns are so big. Managed to park right near GZ. Searched one side of the road up the hill for a few minutes as that was where the GPS and maps were indicating where it was but covert read a few logs and we soon realised it was on the lower side of the road, no climbing necessary. Cache was quickly found but couldn't sign the log as it was sodden and mouldy, along with the contents. As the previous finder has stated, needs repair and the hint for the fifth made available again. TFTC.
Found while out on a night run with Quasar3671. In urgent need of maintenance. Found on the down side of the road, not the up side where the GPS pointed.
Forgot to log this one, when doing others in the area. Found on lower side of road about 20m from coordinates.

Found it - this cache is in urgent need of an overhaul. The container is the cheap plastic chinese takeaway type and the lid has come loose - the interior is wet and mouldy. The number on the lid is not visible as the sticker attached to the inside of the lid has been wet and has deteriorated, no details are readable. Please recover cache container and dry out contents! Maybe a new container like a sistema would work better here in the damp environment. Please keep this cache going!! Was going to leave a TB, but for the above reasons I'll hold off and re-visit soon. TFTC !!!
Please re-mark the code number (or email it to me) as I would like to complete the series !!!!!

found the cache without too much difficulty. lots of muggle activity so be careful not to be seen.
Luckily we had the hint and the other logs because the coordinates were pointing us in the other other direction. It's hard with the trees and the clouds. Thanks for the cache.
Easy find - tree cover made the gps go a little crazy which took some time

This was a actually quite an easy find, must of been lucky today.
Was using the Car GPS as the eTrex did not have the coordinates in it.
There is no need to climb anything and quick accessable.
Only disappointment is I forgot to make note of the number on the lid of cache as I failed to read the cache description fully before I headed out this morning.

Nice and easy, cache still exists and is hidden as the clue says. A bit wet though.
This one took some finding as the gps was bouncing all over the place but I eventually found this one after reading the discription and past logs. I could not get the number off the lid.TFTC
Yeah this one pissed me off, like lots of other people and have now read info, so wont go searching anywhere near GZ or landslide cliff. May have been on the other side of the road. Am aware that Gps reading was taken before selective error was taken out, but considering dangerous ground and neighbours, maybe its time to take a new reading. What a horrible mess of weeds.
Log book bit damp but fine to write with. Gps was terrible! Briefly showed 2m near where we found it which led me to the correct spot. Dropped off a travel bug.
16th of the night on a night run of my own. I had to head out to Ferntree Gully to make an ebay delivery, so what better excuse for a caching run. Quick find in a pretty damp area. Log slightly damp, but ok to sign. TFTC
The gps was playing up today, sending me across the road, where I couldn't find any sense with the clue. Following a chat with Tank47, I searched the correct area and found the cache. Thanks, TNLN.
A nice easy drive by. Watch out for the bus using this loop to turn around, there is not much room. TFTH...SL...TNLN

In the company of my partner Anne we found this cache @ 16:53hrs today.
We got to this cache just the Muggles that live in the area were getting home from their hard day at the factory and I almost got caught out removing the cache from it's hiding spot. I don't think anybody spotted me, so all is good and the cache is back in it's hiding spot for the next Cacher to find.

Found in the MOP this morning. Very wet inside - the lid was open. Drained it and shook the tiny spider out. TFTC.
#226 Definitely one where best to read the hint first as my GPS was 20m out (love the bush so have to accept bad satellite fixes) - hence a lot of looking in the wrong area before using the hint and then a quick find. TNLN Thanks
Found at 16:38 towards the end of our 25-30km bike ride in the Dandenongs. A rather quick find on this neat loop, before cruising down the hill of around 60km/h. Not bad for a push bike! To top it off, we got to Upper Ferntree Gully with only six minutes to wait for our train back home. Thanks -e^ip.
Received a call from EB13 to report he'd reached the top of the 1000 steps. What? already but we've only done one cache!! EB Chief scooted up the hill while I read the logs. Hmm, I don't think you need to go up there hon, gotcha! Too easy! TFTC. Left "All in One" geocoin

Aaaah! This was annoyingly harder than it should've been. The geokids (Turtle and Tiger) and I took three attempts to find this cache. As noted by others, GPS coordinates not accurate - read previous posts for hints on how to find this one.
Found this cache at 11.30AM while on a caching day out with Xambo4u. Inially we started with the posted co-ord and were looking up the hill.
Read the previous logs which pointed to a different set of co-ordinates (Thanks to 38 degrees South). Found this cache on on the other side of the road.

Found by Greg & M 1630H 08/07/09 within 2 minutes on our second attempt thanks to 38 Degrees South. I had also tripped over someones water meter the first time I searched for this cache. Also thanks to other cachers for their help with this one.
I first looked for this cache back in '07 I think and was climbing up the hill searching for 15 minutes before I gave up. The recently added coordinates from 38 Degrees South proved to be more to my liking and I was able to grab the last bit of preliminary info I needed.
Thanks,

We'd tried for this one many years ago - the scar of not finding it keeping us away this long. Anyway, having perused the recent logs, I thought it was now time to give it another go. Well, of course I found it in the first place I looked - now how often does that happen? All thanks in part to chewinprickles' co-ords and also to Jyetara's clue. For what it's worth, I let the GPSr average away at GZ while I signed the log - the resulting co-ords were deduced by the GPSr as being accurate to under 5m (after 450 readings). TNLN & SL at 5pm. It was nice to have finally knocked this one off. TFTC! Regards 38degsouth.
Found with Landsergruppe.
After myself and Landsergruppe following our GPSeseses for 15 mins and eventually finding ourselves on what appeared to be Private Property, Mrs was looking in a totally different area and found the cache! Clue isn't really accurate as someone else noted. Its more of an uproot!
Previous logs are to be referred to for this cache!

Spent a while on ther wrong side of the road here before a few clues from some earlier logs helped out a tad. Found it soon after. I was feeling a bit conspicuous thrashing about in the bush today as the radio was advising all to report all suspicious behaviour but the wallopers didn't desend on us. Not here anyway!!
I was going to add a waypoint to help future finders but I'm not sure where I wrote it down. If I find it I'll add it.

Found with Superjaz, Ultra Violet Z, Little Buds and a couple of muggle friends. In the gathering twilight gloom we searched the scrub. Several minutes hunting by 2 adults and 3 kids failed to find the cache. I resorted to the hint, expanded the search area a bit, and bananaphone! there it was. Im surprised that the container is still in tact - takeway food boxes arent very robust...

After wandering around in circles for a while, getting conflicting readings (prob because of the trees) we used the clue. Don't think we'd have found the cache without that, as my GPs said it was 30m out. There wasn't much in it so we left a clue spikey pig thing, a water pistol and a pen. It's a lovely area, wouldn't mind living here at all. TFTC.

Found on a day caching while the car was being serviced (big service). Hmm more mistakes of paperless caching as I missed getting the number on the cache. I searched the wrong side of the road for a long time, eventually cracking the hint open and then continuing to search the wrong side for the hint. In the end as I was marking this one as dnf for the day I noticed a good cache hide spot on the way back to the car. TFTC
What should have been an easy find was hamper by the GPS deciding that it knew better and I was sent on a goose chase everywhere. All day long it has proved faultless but now it decided to throw in a curly one. In the end I resorted to the clue and found the stash.

Slippery indeed, but being a local any slope this time of year can be a hazard. You are right about the GPS signals, I was about 100 metres off on my first visit but was sure as to where it would be, left it alone due to muggle activity. With a few finds completed on our post-AWG52 caching foray, this was next on the list. We arrived near GZ and started looking. The trees seemed to be playing havoc with the GPSrs and everyone was heading in all directions. Found at 5pm with Eudes & TK after AWG Bushwalk 52 in Sherbrooke Forest. The coordinates and my mapping software placed this cache on the up side of the road, but it just did not seem to be right. After debating other possible hiding locations, Mrs A's multi-purpose cache locater came in handy for the second time today! While the description says that the cache is not in the gully, one false step could have the cache (and cacher) ending up there!
