A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY SIXTEEN: Exploring Wagga Wagga.Wandered around in circles for a while before I finally spotted the cache partly exposed. Clips were not done up but thankfully contents were nice and dry. Put everything back as it should be. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Roostaman ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 16: We are camping in another great free camp on the Murrumbidgee River. After a great morning swim it was time to explore Wagga Wagga. We stopped to grab this one and had a bit of a search. Eventually found it exposed and not sealed a little further downhill than our GPS wanted us to be. Contents is dry and in good order. Thanks Roostaman for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Find #8098
I’ve been looking for that window of opportunity, a few days, to get across to WW to do some the various trails in the region. Finally a spare long weekend and plans began to form.
At the recent Mega in Rutherglen, I’d mentioned my intention to barb2e and she was keen to join me. Plans were almost abandoned as the Academy Games crowd had virtually booked all of accommodation out within a 50km radius. Thankfully camping is always an option. Well for me anyway
Then opportunity to meet some local cachers, and COs of some of the much anticipated trails, meant an extremely early start to get across to a community event though this was the perfect way to kick start the long weekend.
With some specific target caches, plus so many AdLabs, the Pub series, W.W.W. Trail, Friends series, Riverina crop series, Riverina Geocaching's Geotriad Tribute Series, and so much more. There was enough to keep us going for weeks but only had four days. Oh well, we gave it a good crack.
Apologies for the generic logs as this never does justice to the work that goes into placing and maintaining all of the caches that we have so enjoyed finding.
It’s been fun! Great to get this oldie too ️
Thanks so much Roostaman for putting out and maintaining this cache. And of course for getting me out and about and enjoying this area too

Found with PapaGrouch on a short trip up to Wagga Wagga today. We were targeting some of the older caches to fill out our Ausmer grid and chose this one. This was a quick find, I spotted something suspicious as I approached GZ, and after rounding the tree so I could reach it the cache was quickly uncovered. TFTC
Tftf. Looking a few m off correct spot, went out of the tree cover to reset GPS, and saw it when coming from the other side.
Spent quite a while hunting for this one! In the end it was much bigger than expected and bleeding obvious but it still proved elusive !
This one wasn't where we first thought it would be, but we trusted the GPSr and soon had it in hand.
After a longer stay in Tumut than we had originally intended it was time to move on. Time spent with family is never wasted though, so our time there was very well spent and much enjoyed.
We didn't move far however and have arrived in Wagga for a few days where we have caught up with Roosterman and Mrs Roosta again and then also joined by Rebel Acts. The team back together!
The weather has been variable and made approaching some caches challenging due to the accumulated water and mud. And boy has it been cold at times!
Still we have chased a variety of caches and managed to find some high D/T ones on our way.
Always a great time caching with good friends.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Roostaman.

#6308 8th for today
Day 3 of the Kengal Trip.
Most of the "Capital Crunchers" were back in Canberra at work today, so just mtrax and myself remained. The weather east of Wagga was pretty bad so no incentive to hurry home. Only light showers locally, nothing worse that what we'd already had yesterday. Our goals today were to get the Library Cache, the Virtual as well as a couple on the way out of town. We returned to Uranquity to do some of the "bendy" trail that proved to be very enjoyable. Also enjoyed going out to the gas-power station. We had a pie from the famous Uranquity bakery (which was delicious) before our return to the capital.
A simple find.
Thanks Roostaman

With a long weekend looming plans were hatched to go and do some caching in Wagga
Wagga. So Rapidlywild and only the monkey half of the FFLL team hit the road on Friday after
work.
A lot of different caches were found while driving around the area enjoying the views and
the lovely weather.
No issues with this one. Although we did have a visit from the local authorities asking if we were OK after blinding us with their spot light. .
Thanks for the hide Roostaman and thanks Rapidlywild for a successful weekend away.

With a long weekend in Canberra, a geocaching trip away was calling us. So FurfacesLL and myself made plans to hit the road and revisit Wagga Wagga to do some more caching. A large range of caches were collected, many terrain and some lovely country views enjoyed.
No issues locating this one, signed and replaced. And whilst we were pulled off the road a bit further up, we had a visit from the local po po to check we were ok
Thanks for the hide Roostaman And thanks to FFLL for another fun weekend out and about the Wagga and surrounds region

I have been staying in Wagga Wagga this weekend to attend my son's March Out from Kapooka. This morning, after attending chapel with my son, I stopped here to find this cache.
I didn't see a bridge but I did take some photos of the Blamey Barracks sign to add to a small album that I am making of my weekend of memories.
Thank you Roostaman for this cache and chatting to me at yesterday's event.

This bridge used to be a nightmare so I am glad it is gone. Though I wish that the RMS had thought about what they wanted before the biocertification of the Wagga LEP went through - the new bridge impacted on an important connection for the local Squirrel Glider p[opulation. Oh well it is a nice high bridge so the trains can get through and the trucks don't have to slow down.
Was in Wagga for work so on the way home I tried for a couple of caches. This was the first and this was a busy road at 3 PM. Parked safely and crossed over - GPS was about 7 metres away (though I had walked further) when I found the nicely sized cache.

Catnap777 and I left Albury/Wodonga on a morning so cold I swear the breeze had a knife in it.
We had a list of 25 caches and got a100% find result. A wonderful day was had. Some caches were very innovative and awarded favourites for that. Thanks for placing this cache.

Yippee- Happy find - orienteering at ‘Connorton’ not so successful with elusive checkpoint #3! Not the only one so hoping to make up for long journey by finding a few caches on the way home. TFTC and info
Found but was unprepared with no souvenir to swap or pen to write in log.

We enjoy finding a large cache every now and again a good diversion from all the nano's and micro's. We had a small ball that we had picked up when we parked the car and it fitted into this cache perfectly. The sign is certainly impressive sign here. SL TFTC
I noticed there was an event in Jugiong this Saturday, and had decided to go to that, then noticed one the next day, with overnight camping beforehand, at Oura Beach - so I decided that this weekend would be a Geocaching weekend ... so, as I was out somewhere else on Friday evening, I got up on Saturday morning and packed camping gear and food, and all my other stuff, and drove from Canberra to the "A Country Town Event #1 Jugiong", then while I was there I found a cache nearby (that I had not found when I was here and looked for it 2 years earlier) then after that event, I went and found a few more in Jugiong, then headed over toward Wagga Wagga to camp overnight, for the the "Come to Oura Camping Event!" which was officially on Sunday morning ... hung around after and found a nearby cache, had a swim and lunch, then found the cache in Oura, before I headed out to Kapooka to find a couple caches there (I had not been there, or even to Wagga Wagga (apart from driving through the edge of town on my way to camp at Oura beach - lol), since I did my Army recruit training back in 1987) then I headed back past Oura (decided that was a more interesting way to go home) and found a few caches here and there on my drive home to Canbera ... and my last find on the way home (between Murrumbateman and Canberra) was actually just after Midnight - oops? - lol
TFTC - I, too, searched the wrong tree first... Then I had to answer a phone call - lol ... Then had another look and found the cache.. Took the tiny plastic soldier I found in there, because last time I was here was when I did recruit training in 1987 (which is why I had decided to come and find a cache or 2 near here - I like finding the nearest cache to places I have lived/worked/etc. in the past, if I am in the area/back visiting). Left a Science week badge... Because after being an Operator Signals for a few years, I got promoted to "at home Mum", then became a High School Science Assistant... did that for 18 years, until they "broke" me... What a pity I can't get paid for Geocaching - lol
Also, while searching, I found a star picket and took it home, because I might need one more for my garden... (Planning in having a bean trellis, if I ever get around to planting my vegetable garden)
Photo: one of the nice big interesting (to me anyway) piles of grass seed heads that have accumulated anywhere they can get stuck

I struggled with that one. Bigger than I thought and GZ was about 10m away from its direction.
The odd bark from different tree helped.
Old posting location here so some nostalgia and the old bridge is gone...

**The Day:**
The forecast for today's weather in Wagga Wagga was a top of 42 degrees, not weather I really want to be doing too much caching in! So I decided to beat the heat and woke up at 5:15am when it was only about 24 degrees, still quite warm for that time! I cached my heart out while it was coolish, by grabbing the 2001 cache "Kengal" first and then the "Bed-Rock" series before grabbing a few on the way back into Wagga until 10:30am when it was already 30+ degrees!
I then fueled up with some liquids and food before starting my drive back to Canberra, and only opting to grab some very quick park and grabs along the highway so as to not be in the heat for too long!
Overall quite a productive day despite the hot temperatures!
---
**The Cache:**
Nice, another 2005 cache by Roostaman! And a medium sized too, even better!
Took me a couple minutes to find the cache, it's not at the obvious tree that the coordinates led me too! Spotted it soon enough however!
Thanks!
