Time for a cache audit.

Several of my caches have ended up in a degree of disarray, many of which are proving difficult to come up with suitable replacements, and some of which are just prone to muggling or other forms of demise.

My Docklands series caches are now getting impractical due to securing of the precinct, and increased contstruction.

So, time for this one to end up archived.

Thanks to all who've logged it, and sorry to all those who missed the chance.

For those waiting for it to go back on line for the Docklands series, the other docklands caches are now changing to traditionals instead of puzzles.

The location of this cache has been terrorproofed - sealed off so that nasty people can't hide devices under there for the Commonwealth Games.

Of course, this means that geocachers can't hide caches under there for the rest of the time. Unfortunately, I've lost this container as it's now entombed, but so I've managed to keep Cow Up A Tree out of trouble at the moment, beating the carpenters to their enlosing of the hiding spot.

I've changed the clues on the Lick-A-Prize puzzle cache at the moment until the replacement is available.

Hurray! Found the last stick. Off to the final coordinates.

07-Oct-05
Cache forty six of seventy seven for the day: in what we called The Big Assault eighteen hours of none stop caching.
Once again this was an obvious hiding spot, but it’s a good job we have long arms.
Thanks for another great cache.

25-Sep-05
Made an early start to docklands. Found it quickly. Make a big difference when there is absolutely no one around.
Thanks Partic.

24-Sep-05
We took advantage of Grand Final day and the consequent lack of people strolling around to easily retrieve this cache. Sarahg and I had done Cow Up Tree previously and came back with family to try and complete the Docklands set.

Took TB, left plushie.

Thanks Partic.

24-Sep-05
Found with Cam, SatyricTim, Meryl and Norman. Another great cache; we found it easily. Going during the AFL grand final helped! There were very few muggles about.

11-Sep-05
Found at 12.55pm GAFF3. As we were with a group of friends on a tour of some of the city sights, we wanted to quickly find this cache so as not to hold them up. Thanks Partic. tn/ln

*$#@^! Why can't we find it!!! Two other finds in the two days where I am tearing my hair out thinking where this could be. Myself & 9 yr old once again searched all available indicated areas, even when the GPS was telling my should be standing on it, nothing jumped out at me.

Sat down to think about the situation, reading the cahce notes, realised I could procede in the series without the missing info. as my Gps uses only 2 decimal places!!!

Not very happy that after 2 extremely long & frustrating attempts to find this one, it still eludes me!!!!!

10-Sep-05
After much looking, craning of necks, sticking arms into dark, cobwebby areas, nothing could be found. Not even with the eager assistance of 9 yr old offspring.

Will return again, don't you worry about that!

10-Sep-05
Found the third of the lick a prize cache series... Now off to the final location!!!

TNLN. Thanks partic!

Maintenance visit:
- Replaced Log Book. Don't know what someone would be doing allowing their kids to climb in there. Possible that wind storms had dislodged it, but somehow I think that's unlikely.
- Tagged and Released Fugu Fish TB! Note that Fugu's a bit of a squealer when you open the cache Smile

31-Aug-05
After finding "Cow Up A Tree" I cycled on to this cache, but found that it had been muggled Sad. The cache container, paddle pop sticks and 3 swaps were there, but no log book. I did a swap anyway and replaced the cache so that at least it was hidden again.
Took: Mondo figure, bunny roller stamp.
Left: Highlighter, sticky notes.

Thanks Partic - I look forward to completing the series.

11.00am
Found by Roma and Max.
Both this and it's nearby artwork are certainly different and memorable.
We made a small swap with a Mondo in and a Kangaroo out.
Thanks Partic for bringing us to this part of the city.
Romax.

26-Aug-05
We went to docklands for a tour but they are not available on match days so we went caching instead. Found after waiting for nearby skateboarders.

Took Don't be Crabby TB
Left Yorkshire meet 2005 TB to continue his world journey
Thanks Partic

20-Aug-05
Found at 3:55pm on a cool but sunny winter Saturday afternoon. Had to wait a bit for muggle skater boys to move on before putting the cache back. Not sure what this sculpture was about.

took duck fridge magnet
left kangaroo & TB Don't be Crabby
thanks Partic

17-Aug-05
An easy find....number 2 in my docklands quest! This was such a cool cache!

14-Aug-05
CoolCool The GPS God's were unkind with this one at some stage. Things are not always what they seem. Didn't really matter, as situation only presented two possibilities. Located OK. TN. Left a magnetic fridge duck. The end of the series is nigh. Thanks again Partic.

Maintenance Visit.

Restocked the paddle pop sticks and grabbed Magically Delicious to take him to another pot of gold.

01-Aug-05
Was bummed out when I could not see any artwork. Moved on to the Cow up a Tree, then this one made sense. Few muggles to deal with. Took a Hong Kong penny. Left a St. Paul Radiology pen. Thanks much, from this Minnesota gal on vacation!

24-Jul-05

23-Jul-05
Decided to do this one as we had to wait awhile for the next City Circle tram. Did not take very long, except Thylo at first was looking in wrong spot. Thyla suggested a different spot, and had the cache straight away. Have told Thylo not to rely on GPS so much, and to be bold. I think he has learn't his lesson now.
Thanks for the hunt. Will do the rest of this series in a few weeks.
Thyla and Thylo

18-Jul-05
Found in the company of BeccaJ. We tried this one first, with no luck, went on to Cow in a Tree and came back. The GPS was definitely pointing about 15m away, at a location I thought made more sense, but once we searched in the right place, we found it pretty quickly.

17-Jul-05
Still on my way home from AWG 43 and having received an e-mail from Partic consoling me for my stupidity in not putting this into Geko before my trip to town earlier in the week Red Face, I figured that the time of day would possibly mean a relatively muggle free attempt.

I was right and I had the cache in hand quite quickly at 18:45. Took clue, LNSL. Many thanks once again Partic. Now for the last part Big Grin.

05-Jul-05
And this was the other one I picked up this morning. Also tried for the cow up the tree one but couldn't find it. If its hidden the same as this one it's either in a long way in, or dare I say it, -gone. I'll probably have another look tomorrow. Remembered the stick number this time.
Probably should have hung around and done these on the weekend but Jack wanted to get home.
Anyway thanks Partic for the great caches.
PS-- As discussed, could you please email me regarding HTML codes etc. Many thanks.

04-Jul-05
I think this one might have fallen off the back of the truck, but they put it up anyway. Not my favourite of the series.
Took: clue - off the the finish!
Thanks, Robmc.

Found by the Facit Family at 10:45am
A slight detour during the City Circle Tram Event to collect this cache. A quick find by Rhinogeo.

TNLN (took a clue stick!)

Thanks Partic

02-Jul-05
Enjoyed the walk from cow in a tree, even though there was a football game on at the nearby stadium there was very few people around in this area. making the find quite easy.
TNLN
Thanks Partic for another enjoyable cache around the docklands.

02-Jul-05
After competing in the City Circle Tram event we went off in search of a couple of caches still to be done.
Arriving at the GZ in the company of Rabbitto we got down to the task of finding the cache and after a few minutes the cache was in the hands of Mr.Coffee.
TNLNSL
Many thanks Partic for the cache and a chance to do a few caches without using a full tank of Petrol.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "going home with a full tank of petrol" Clan.

TNLN (apart from another stick Wink)

Cheers Partic

02-Jul-05
Having just done Cow up a Tree, this one turned out to be much easier. The GPS was pointing much closer to GZ, and the previous experience also helped. I grabbed a clue stick, left my log, and then headed off to Webb Bridge. Thanks for the cache.

02-Jul-05
Second of seven finds for the day. I was in the middle of the "City Circle Tram Event" in company with Muzza, so I took time off to find this one. I nice easy find, but as I was on the hoof, I didn't have any swaps with me, so TNLN. I grabbed the clue for the final cache. Thanks to Partic for the art-focused cache.

02-Jul-05
Found by caughtatwork at 10:50 (I think).
Time not being of the essence I was with Facitman and family as well as Rhinogeo and we all came across this cache at the same time.
With E-Facit doing my logging I was able to completely forget to take a picture of the cache location, but I'm sure I'll remember where it is.
Took the 2nd of the necessary tools for the final cache location.
Again, thanks Partic another enjoyable distraction on the City Circle Tram Event.

02-Jul-05
Found 12:20, as we returned to base for the City Circle Tram Event.

TNLN, thanks Partic.

02-Jul-05
Found at 3:05pm. After leaving the cache event and completing "cow in a tree", we walked with the Coffee Clan to this cache. No trouble finding this one as we could see it from about 15m away. Logged, then Mr Coffee returned it just a little further in than we had found it.

Thanks Partic from D,H,H & A B-A. Nice Shoal. Collected yet another stick.

02-Jul-05
This cache was found in the company of Team Crackers. The cache was quickly found, the log signed and replaced before the area became to full of muggles waiting for the nearby football game to begin.
Thanks Partic for another great cache

02-Jul-05
Had to wait for muggles to disappear. I'm sure the fisherman was growing suspicious though. Took nothing, left hong kong coins. All good to go for the lick a prize! Thanks Partik for a great bunch of caches and so nicely tied in with the event.

02-Jul-05
Nice easy find after our long hike today - lucky to find a parking spot close by. Nice to have so many caches so close to an event!

02-Jul-05
Found by Mary & David at 1606 after the City Circle Tram Event. Unlike the previous cache, there were very few people about and we had no trouble finding and replacing it. TNLN. Our thanks once more to Partic.

02-Jul-05

The Docklands Art Walk caches have been set up in time for the City Circle Tram Event on July 2 2005, and will remain in place following the event.

During the event (and even at other times), I would recommend a few groups of cachers get together to do these, as it will allow you to cluster together and create a suitable decoy when looking for at least two of the caches (Cow Up A Tree and Shoal). Individuals looking for these two will stick out like a sore thumb.

Also please take care to ensure you return the caches during the event appropriately.
