I wasn't really expecting to find this cache, but seeing as how the logs indicated that it was a nice area I thought I'd visit and have a look-see anyway. But no, no cache here anymore. I'm going to recommend that this cache be archived as there has been no finds for 7 months now.
Hiked to location from the Royal on the Park hotel - nice walk. Unfortunately could not find cach. There's a homeless person living in the park so travel with caution. From the USA and it's my third visit to Brisbane but first time geocaching in the area.
We enjoyed going through this area and had no difficulty with the location but couldn't find anything. I had an altercation with a tree in our eagerness...it won!
Search for while no luck. Very nice view anyway thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
Had a look today for this while we were in the area but no luck, although we were attempting with no GPS as we are still waiting for it in the post.
We found the right area according to the description, but since we couldnt find the cache we explored down another path off to the right. Just a word of warning, there is a homeless person living down there, and there is a fair bit of rubbish around. Not sure if this has only occured since the last visit, so might suggest a check to see if the cache is still around.
Cheers Team Erf

Might want to take the left-hand path Erf... oh, and a GPS comes in handy for these sorta things too
Have fun!
ps. the cache 'Far Away' is another nearby cache which is pretty easy to find without a GPS!

Yes it is a spot that I would imagine not to many people would visit. Spotted a Kookaburra while there.

Found 7:40, a great location and a fantastic introduction to caching in Queensland.

After my earlier problems with this cache it is amazing how quickly the cache can be located with the right mindset. Wonderful peaceful time watching the rowers pass by.

I went down the wrong gully to start with- oops. You can get there almost all the way on the road- use the head if you do not want to use the legs much, although it is a nice area to walk through.
With the help of a friend's Garmin Quest. Found the parking area and enjoyed the walk. The cache was easy to see as it was fairly exposed. Left Matsuzaka TB.
Maintainance check to see that everything is ok. Also retrieved Team Basset TB.
Path to the cache is a little bit overgrown, although i'm sure you guys will keep trampling the grass to keep the path accessible! note: you cannot go DIRECTLY to the cache from the start point. Use some common sense and follow the nice path down until you get some flatter ground to follow, I dont want people rolling into the river!

Nice easy find. TNLN. Nice views and probably a nice spot for a quiet evening. Of course, the rubbish at the rest spot was more than a little off-putting. Too much to CITO.
Side note: TB - Team Basset PRETTY GIRL seems to be missing.

Hoping to find TB to take to NZ but I was too late Great spot It was a long walk from my hotel in the cbd Took the dophin to swim in my home port
Reading the previous logs, I think I did rather well. A civilised walk to the riverbank and then follow the GPS. There it is. I wouldn't want to negotiate that dirt bank in the daylight, let alone the dark. This is one place where if you fall in the river, you're gonna have a hard time getting out.
Apart from the fear of falling in, it was a very tranquil 20 minutes I spent looking through the cache and log book while the river slipped past. Nobody was waterskiing at the time and only one citycat dronned past. TN/LN

Driving past my GPSr told me there was something at the end of this street. Racing dDown I go thinking a quick grab might be on the cards as I only had about 20 mins to play with.
The scrub turkey is still on guard and I seemed to be searching in the rubbish tip(given the 2 rating and the debris I suspect I was not quite in the right spot). Two little “Cujo’s†arrived after being let out from the nearby house. Fortunately they were both very friendly but as time was against me it was time to retreat.
Bugger didn’t see that bougainvillea reaching out, that hurt.

Wow I hiked from Queens mall to this cache. I found many dead ends and had to turn around. It took me about 3.5 hours to get to the cache. I took the rubber chicken and left 2 TB's. This was a very nice cache in a nice location. Thanks for the adventure. TmyTkr
Nice spot!!! Went on foot to the wrong side of the river first... had to get the cross river ferry across to the other side! Took a total of 4 hours return from home walking...good thing i decided to wear the hiking boots!
I picked up one of these monkeys in a cache the other night, so I thought I'd investigate the game. I have out this cache 'on the list' for tonight. However, the URL in the cache description seems to be broken (404 Not Found). Is the game still running?
Sorry Dak, the game has concluded with VWnuts coming 3rd and Meyerink a close runner up! I'm yet to finalise the details and post an update on the website which is why it is down. My apologies, but i've been a little busy writing up a PhD thesis of late!
If you'd like a challenge however, your more than welcome to try and rescue our mascot 'Millipore Monkey' from Border Loop Lookout (GCGFJZ) and take him to a more frequented cache! He's getting very lonely in there being placed back in September!

I honestly didn't realise the poor old funky monkey would be stuck down on the border for as long as he has been! There'd have to be heaps of cachers go through there I would have thought?! Sorry ...
Fourth of seven finds for my last night in Brisbane. If there is an easy way and a difficult way to get to a cache, I'll invariably (and inadvertently) take the difficult way. [B)] I parked at the appointed place and set off. At first the track was a civilised set of steps, but then the track disappeared altogether! At least, in the dark, that's how it appeared to me. I decided to make a direct beeline for the cache. This entailed negotiating a steepish slope that was loose and slippery underfoot. I made it down to a shambling track, unscathed. The cache was an easy find at 1935. It was partially exposed, but I covered it better before I left. It was a lovely big cache too! [^]
Then I had to decide whether to take the direct route back to the car, or take the chance that the shambling track would get me back there. I decided to gird my loins and take the direct route. I survived the ordeal! I'm sure this cache would have been a whole lot easier in the daylight. Thanks to 12_Monkeys for the cache.

this was a nice little filler whilst waiting for other things to open. Be even better once the park has been fully regenerated.
Would have liked to have participated in the hunt for the 12 monkeys but bit hard seeing as i was only visiting Brisbane.

This cache took us simply ages to find the way in. Even with the car park co-ords, we were up and down all of the dead end streets before finally lucking on the right one.
The walk down to the location is quite pleasant (despite the steepness) and the gardening works going on will be a treat when they are complete.
The cache was found this morning by Lindy Lou who was first in our line of three today. She pretty much had no choice to find it in the end
Took screwdrivers and seeds, left 3m tape measure and rubber chicken.
We also grabbed a monkey card as we'd picked up two monkeys yesterday. Not sure when I will be able to get more monkeys.
Thanks to 12_monkeys for this cache. The maintenance must be painful, but I'm sure it will be worth it, just like this cache. A good one on this fine morning that had us sweating on the way back up.

We started hunting too far up the hill on what looked like an old rubbish tip, was about to give up when I spotted the track below.
We snatched the Croc TB and left in its place Te Anau Bob TB who has just flown over from NZ.

Dashed in to grab a monkey stamp (my first one!) and drop off the Father's Day Crocodile TB. Also grabbed the Millipore Monkey TB after a quick happy snap with the Crocodile and the Shark Attack TB!
Just dropping in for a maintainance check. Dropped off our 'Millipore Monkey' TB, please take him to meet up with other travel bugs! Also left Shark Attack TB and took Simply Paul's Pink thing TB.
Cache is getting very full with swaps, so please exchange small items for large items for a while! .. oh, and please take Millipore Monkey ASAP,.. this cache is cramping his style
Also left two MonkeyStamp-Tubes for the next couple of visitors to get ahead in the game.
Tom.

It's amazes me all the different little spots like this one around Brissie! Beaut setting ... I want the old Qlder above the cache site (with a team of maids as well)!!! Grabbed a game card and carabiner, left hacky-sack and The Pink Thing TB. I was going to leave the TB at the 'Looking Up' cache closer to the airport, but then realised it was a micro-cache?! Cheers, Crido
After a couple of false starts, found the access to the GZ. As I was recovering the cache, voices very close by! OH - it's just the rowers on the river On writing in the logbook, movement just above me - is it the wild dog? OH - it's just a bush turkey Took TB Crabs, left AWM magnet. Time to return to the hotel for a coffee to settle the nerves
felt a little out of the loop when we read about this one, didnt even know about the 12 monkeys comp. oh well, we got our game card and are onto it now. now i know what that little stamp was in Victor i ous that we saw on last maintence visit, should have nabbed it!
left the crabs TB from the states
when we parked we saw a sign from the council saying they have confirmed a dangerous dog on the premisies, we saw 3 dogs but it wasnt until we came back to the car that one of them started barking at us and we dove into the car for cover, maybe just in time - have you ever seen Cujo?

hmm.. dangerous dogs eh? Haven't seen any dogs in the area to be honest, apart from one scruffy little dog near my house.. hardly dangerous! There is a homeless squatter a little further up the river, maybe they have something to do with him?! Hope the council get on to it, its a lovely area!
Found 1925 after running into a few dead-end streets. A beautiful view at this time of the night. Took the game card, left nothing. A late starter, but we will give it a go.
After taking the wrong way down the hill I had to walk back up to rejoin the pathway. I enjoyed the scenery from the side of the river, listening to the footy game across the river and watching the City Cats cruse on past full of passengers. I then went on to search for the cache and after a quick search had the cache in my hot little hands by around 4pm.
I didn’t have much to trade so I swapped 3 items for the labeller (fair trade IMO [^]). I also grabbed one of the monkey game sheets.
Thanks for the cache 12_monkeys,
Lt. Sniper

HOTANDSWEATY collected a reward cache today for comming in 2nd place in the 12 Monkey Race.
The cache was well worth receiving and was a pleasant end to a very enjoyable hunt.
Can't wait to see what 12 monkeys think of next.

Took a monkey, left a pack of crayons and the Dick Turpin TB

Great little spot for a cache. It took a little while to find as due to the poor coverage by Uncle Sam's battleites today I found myself looking at an impenetrable fenceline and the GPS telling me still another 20 meters to go. Could not be right I told me self and sure enough I was almost standing on the cache. Took a thong fridge magnet and left rabbit balloons. Grabbed a 12 monkeys puzzle page. Sorry to hear about the demise of one of the stamps in a fire but I will be out tommorrow to replace the offending cache.
This was an excellent cache location that we would never have discovered with out geocaching. Out daughter found the cache and hence got to choose. She took a padlock and we left a packet of marigold seeds. We also took a monkey hunt sheet, but are still figuring out what to do with it.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Ok guys, FTF for the game goes to wingaap!! It was a close battle for first, with hotandsweaty coming in a VERY close second.. by about 4hrs or so. Would have been even closer if the last cache he went to hadn't been burnt out, preventing the capture of the monkey! Nevertheless it was a great battle and I'm surprised neither of them bumped into each other in the process!! 3rd place is still up for grabs and I'll be updating the website and planting a few more monkeystamp-tubes in the next day or two.
Congrats!
1st - Wingaap
2nd - Hotandsweaty
3rd - ???

We headed out this morning intending to do this cache in the afternoon. However when I went to look it up on my GPS, its co-ordinates weren't there - looks like my pocket queries haven't been working for the last few days, so I haven't downloaded it as yet.
Over lunch we managed to get the PDA hooked up to the Net and looked up the co-ordinates... but we didn't note any details like parking etc... so we had to guess our way into the right street etc...
In the end it wasn't that difficult & by 3:25pm the cache was in hand. We took a competition card (not that we stand much chance at winning that) and a monkey stamp-tube. We swapped some stickers for a thong fridge magnet.
Thanks for the great concept game on this one.

Revisited and snaffled a MONKEY. I didn't see them there last time.
I now have 10. Should have eleven but the last cache I attended, Camp Mountain Ghost Train, was burn't out and totally destroyed by bushfire yesterday. I have disposed of the smouldering remains.
