looked for a good while then read the logs. hmm - think this one has gone to the greater gods.
Note to self- read cache logs before taking a 1km walk.......
We had a good look & came up with nothing then read it hadn't been found this year, in fact since October. It was buried under lots of flotsam then, if it is still there it's buried under a lot more by now!

Where planning a trip down here and noticed long times since a find and a log mentions syringes. Needs owner attention urgently.
Didn't mind the walk, the dogs had plenty to sniff. GZ is fairly obvious but the cache wasn't. No muggles around so had a good poke around all the gaps and moved a few rocks to no avail
Hmm the rain & soggy MrGeo stopped us for finding this one, GeoKids were wet but kean. There were lots of siringes so be careful.
walked to the point but could only find rubbish.saw a lovely fairy wren on the walk back
No luck today. Used hint and still no luck. Can someone please confirm if it's still there? Anyway thanks for the nice walk. Hopefully next time I can log it as FOUND.
Not today. Nice place to sit and watch things go by (the catamaran was particularly noteworthy). Given the amount of junk around I imagine this place gets inundated fairly often, so it may have washed away.... However, there was too much in the crevices for me to want to pick through without gloves so it might still be there..... Thanks for showing me the spot.
Found it @ approx. 18:40
What a walk! love watching the "traffic" go past.
Almost D.N.F. as it was buried under a great pile of flotsum. Once retrieved, found completely full of water, except the log book which was dry inside its little baggie.
Emptied out, squeezed the water out of the koala, and returned all to their hidey hole.

16.55pm. I was on my hols and had arranged to meet Lochb for an evenings caching at the nearby car park, we set off and soon realised that you had to get this one right to save a swim,it was abit cool and breezy but boy what a great location for a cache,we passed a japanese fisherman on the way that did not seem fazed as we walked by,you certainly have to watch the old ankles along here,we soon got to gz for a bit of a search until i just saw something,we were both pleased to find this good cache in its breathtaking location, so a good start to our cache around.greetings from england Robmc,sltn.patandjeff=bones1.
Headed out to this area today with Bones1 to find a few caches. Luckily I checked the satellite image before we started walking to the point as my maps would have placed us in a position involving a short swim across to GZ. Great walk, enjoyed the views, rather fresh breeze. TFCT, Rob!
Found at 10:20 am on a quiet Fri morning.
My 60th cache find! This was my second attempt at this site, and a quick find.
Hope this one lasts for a while. Every visitor to Melb should do this one. Last time I wheeled my mountain bike over the 500 m of coarse aggregate - this time I walked.
Took The Morris's PT and left my new biro as a swap. SL. Thanks for the challenge, Robmc.

Found shortly after the owner replaced it - you would think he could have just handed it to us the carpark! Despite a pretty thorough search it looks like the original, along with the TB has chosen to move on to a better place with it with less rubbish. No boats passed while we were out there but its a pretty cool feeling to be in the middle of the shipping lanes. Took 3 tennis balls that J found and left a pathtag.
Walked out here today with all The Morris (It's true - even J!!!), and it seems that the rain had cleaned the groin of all plastic containers, and deposited a fresh batch just on the end.
Unfortunately, the cache was gone too. It is now replaced. Slightly different spot but the clue still holds.
It is now a one liter black sistema.

Did not find this one - spent 30 mins searching - would love to know if it's still in position - I'll be back in a flash. Thanks for the challenge. [B)]
Hmm, lovely location. Smells beaut! We couldnt find it but alot of other stuff has washed up , so maybe the cache has washed out.
My first DNF. Not Even The Quiet Plodder Could find this one. We will return and find it in the future.
On our Williamstown caching day in celebration of Geocaching's 10th Birthday this was the only one that defeated us! I could 'sense' the cache's presence, I'm sure I 'touched' it, I'm sure I smelled it (but that may have been the some of the rubbish in between the rocks or the remnants of lunch being digested). I 'moved' boulders that Samson would have 'moved'. I 'tapped' every rock I saw to see if this was a 'crafty volcanic' hide. I consulted my Horoscope for the day - it said 'You will see a sign with some strange words and lumps' for a clue. I even 'briefly contemplated' a swim to check the rocks under the water-level but was worried about those 'Yarra Pirahnas' called Pinkies. I even rang up a Geologist friend to see if certain 'rock types' were more 'prone' to hiding caches - he hung up, bewildered. So, a DNF - this time - I'll be back as I am loathe nowadays to beat a retreat, especially over those blasted rocks which did the plod feet no favours. Mind you, it's a strange place to get away from reality for a time. Too, what a superb location to watch Boats (or are they Ships) ply the River. A Boatie Gunzels paradise. Thanks to 'Robmc' for an hour of happy frustration. TQP
This cache has been on the to do list but had not been done. The tide was low, no muggles and had the time requires so today was the day.
Lots of people fishing but they thinned out and nobody for the last five hundred metres so I could search in peace.
I must say that rocks are not my favourite things to search in or around and it took a while as I searched around in a circle. Once spotted I reached down and my pen promptly fell out of my pocket down out of reach in the rocks.
Tried to reach but too far down but at least there is a pencil in the cache.
Not many more caches to put smiley faces on now but there are three of those rotten ? caches of your's too go.
This was the second Robmc cache today so thanks for the caches.

Lovely evening for a stroll. We had more luck finding it than the lone fisherman trying to pull in Pinky of legal length! No sign of Riley's monkey though.
Found 11.30am
This cache has been on our list on the last few times we have been to this area but somehow we never got round to it. Today we managed to get here with plenty of time to do the walk out to the point, we were lucky that we had the area to ourselves so once at GZ it was a short search before the cache was found.

Thanks Robmc we voted this one "cache of the day"

Wow, quite a rocky hike and some serious winds today. Managed to find a break in the rain for a quick find, log and dash.
I've been out on this point so many times looking for this elusive cache, the crabs all climbed up to say "g'day, where ya been?"
Finally located it, and it still took a while, even with the clue.
Thanks again robmc for the cache, and I see in my absence from cleaning up this area, you've placed a couple more headaches for us all.
Look forward to the challenges on another day, TNLNSL

White A+ was street orienteering I thought to check out a couple of nearby caches. Didn't count on there being muggle conventions at both sites. So set off for this one only to arrive and realise that while the site lacked fishermen, I sadly lacked the notes. Presumed I was looking for 1 litre or larger and found plenty but alas not the real thing. Consoled myself with some photography then headed back to the car to read that it is a small container - my excuse. Looks like I will have to translate the hint next time too. Good walk - less than 10 minutes each way, refreshing on a hot evening and plenty of water activity.
This was quite the hike t journey.o get to. Spent sometime watching ships, and boats go by. T4T journey.
With plenty of people fishing I was in luck with no-one heading out here today. Easy find, not so easy walk!! tftc
After having been foiled in our last few attempts due to muggles we were a little apprehensive when on the long walk out to this cache we spied some people near GZ. We said hi before they headed back and it was only after reading to log book we realised they were cachers. Sorry for not giving the secret handshake Happy Jester. TNLN TFTC.
A great day and a great walk. It is a bit smelly but the dog is loving it. I think he hs put his face in an old bait bag- I am afraid to look. Travel bug is not in the cache.
Found at 0835. I actually ended up parking the car at 'Williamstown Steam Car Ferry', but since there were muggles nearby I decided that I'd walk from here, resulting in a 2km return trip. It was surprising how far out it really was, but today was a beautiful day for walking, even though it was along rocks, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Got to GZ and after a good 5 min search, the cache was found. On the return trio, I even had the pleasure of seeing a large shipping freighter pass by up close, which was pretty neat.
Thanks.
Thanks.
4/9 found for the day at 4.00pm.
Sorry Rob, but the pencil suffered a watery death...Opps.. Luckily I had a spare to replace it.
Thanks again Robmc for the walk to a place where I could almost touch the ships that passes.

Searched high and low to no avail. Last logged find was in January so it may not be there now. Did find a small rubber lizard in the vicinity that may have been in the cache or it may have simply washed up with the tide. I'll re-visit it again when it's not blowing a gale.
Second DNF for me on this one. I assume there's too many fishermen crawling over the rocks unsnagging their tackle etc for this one to remain undiscovered for too long. It's a pity, as the walk is great, and the ships really pass by very closely. Hope it was just me that DNF it, and it's still there, fingers crossed.
Another DNF.

Mrs ssmc4 was crewing on her brother-in-law's yacht today, so whilst they were getting ready at the boat-ramp eldest daughter m & I wandered out along the rocky path. We enjoyed seeing the passing marine traffic, the pelicans and cormorants but were less than impressed with all the rubbish that had either been washed up or left by fishermen. Searched amongst the smelly seaweed, rubbish and sea-bird excrement for about 15 minutes but to no avail.
Maybe next time - thanks Robmc.

This was the second objective on my morning bike ride to Willy. 4maal, Alsume and I had tried to find this one quite some time ago but it was MIA then so I thought I'd try for it today. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten how rocky the path to GZ was so I had to walk the tredley but at least I knocked off a few hundred metres before doing so. Once at an unpopulated GZ, the cache presented itself very quickly at 08:35 .
The cache note was soggy but I could write on it (although only pwags log was on it [?]). Also, the stash was bereft of swaps, and writing implement, but at least I can now remove "OUTOPT" from Geko after all this time .
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion . Many thanks Robmc.

A long walk, but well worth it. We were overtaken by a monstrous cargo ship as we walked out, and it looked as though we could just reach out and touch it. Great spot for a cache - thanks for bringing us here
Left Riley's Monkey for its first stop on hopefully a long trip

A great night for a walk along this rocky path. No fishermen for the last 600m, we had it to ourselves, apart from the guy in a suit watching the dredging at the mouth of the Yarra very intently. Saw a container ship come in while we were on our way out, then spent some time searching at GZ. Used the hint, and found an empty container which looked like it could be the cache, as it had a sachet of Silica Gel inside, but nothing else. Thirty minutes of searching, using the hint as a guide, and nothing else turned up, so we assume that the empty container was it. We crafted a temporary logbook from some nearby fish'n'chip paper, and made our mark, returning it to a place according to the hint. Then the return walk, on dusk, as the SPirit of Tasmania headed out across the bay. Thanks for bringing us here!
Got within 30m of GZ, only to see a fisherman emerge from behind the sign. Damn! As I approached him, he asked me if I was looking for the 'game' box, and proceeded to help me look for it. He said he knew where it used to be but hadn't seen it for some time, thought kids had found it after dropping some tackle perhaps. Friendliest muggle ever! I rewarded him with 3 sinkers I found during the search, but alas, no prize for me. Great little walk nonetheless. Thanks Rob
Fun and games with this one. Took the wrong stretch of land first up and was nearly to the end before I realized about the other one. Had left my car all on its own in the empty car park but when I got back I was totally surrounded. It makes me fell ashamed about the rubbish left around to spoil nature. Well worth the walks. Took me a long time to find cache even with the clues. Eventually found a very wet cache with contents swimming around.
Thanks for your cache, I loved it

We had a nice walk out there, muggles seemed to stay inland, On the way back in there was about 3 people with 20 or so rods between them walking up the point. Found it suprisingly fast considering where i found it.
It seemed very mixed in with the rubbish so i overlooked it once or twice. Had a teensy bit of trouble with the wind when out there.
Fun cache but didnt time it to go with the ships so i think i missed something. brother was skipping some stones nicely on the way back.

Second find of the day in Willi's Town. It was a fine morning for walking out to the point and fortunately there was no one around when we got there. A quick look around and we soon liberated the cache from its hiding place.. We took some video of the passing trade before we headed back up the rocky trail. Just as we were crossing to the car we met Team Rubik coming the other way so we wished him well and continued on to the car.
Took mondo, left whistle.
Thanks for the cache Robmc.

As the Swaggies noted we had a chance meeting near the car park after they had completed the trek out to the point. They commented on what a sight all the rubbish was and I had to agree - I even saw some McDonald's figurines that were released when I was a kid. I think the plastic toys break down faster than the processed food as well.
Thanks for the interesting little trip,

Couldn't have picked a better day to do this cache, weather fabulous. After a discussion about which route to take, finally latched on to the right one and started walking. Only one of us was wearing sensible shoes, but we managed. PS Container ships look very big from out here. Took croaking frog, left shell fridge magnet. TFTC.
Nice place! I went for the walk and then searched. After walking back to my car, I realised i'd left my keys "Out on the Point" Another trip back and i almost roll my ankle... TWICE! I'd reccommend sturdy shoes for this one.

A good walk out despite cold weather and much rubbish along the way. Unfortunately could not locate the cache even assisted by two geo-beagles
Great view though, wouldnt have come out here otherwise. Sadly, a Recent King tide has deposited more rubbish than ever on this spot. Despite a very thorough search we couldnt locate the cache despite 5 searchers and 2 very inquisitive GeoHounds
easy find in a difficult access location ... cold wind belowing and almost busted an ankel on the way out (should have taken the dont wear your high heals out there), what a pitty all the rubish that accumulates out there ... maybe a good cache in trash out place.

Well it must be a pretty good fishing spot, because Steve the fisherman (who normally never fishes here according to davroy) was here again today and kindly handed me the cache when he realized what I was there for . These spits are very unusual, they obviously serve a purpose - I'm just not sure what, but they must have taken some effort to build and you could barely turn a pushbike around on them, so dump trucks would have had to back up the whole distance!

Found on a caching cycling tour of the city with ggkof. 8th of 17 for the day.
We tried to ride out to GZ, but it was just too bumpy. We walked out to GZ and saw a fisherman sitting right on top of it. He became very curious as to what we were doing when he saw us extract the cache. (We thought he was looking the other way.) His name is Steve and he signed the cache too! This is one that I've been meaning to do for ages, finally got to it today. TNLN.

Found @ 12:30 with Davroy. Fisherman Steve was the only muggle on the point. Guess he got curious why two guy's in bike riding clothes would walk all this way out here without fishing gear. Sprung us just after we opened the cache. His english was not good and I don't think he really understood what geocaching is even after we explained it to him. He just wanted to write his name in the log too, so we let him. He normally never fishes here, so I think the cache will be safe for those who follow.

Found by Roma and Max.
We have had this cache on our radar for some time now just waiting for the right opportunity.
Having just completed some difficult climbs in the Grampians this journey looked a lot easier today than at previous times.
We were blessed with an absence of fishermen anywhere near GZ, and made another easy find.
Pity about the rubbish littering the spit!
We took a Blue Cap to make room for one of our usual Mondo Figurines.
Thanks again Robmc.

Finally grabbed today after an abortive effort some months ago when I realised after a long walk that a fisherman was sitting on GZ. I tried to outwait him then but failed. Today I had the place to myself and cache was right where I thought it would be. thanks robmc
Now THIS is what caching's about - the best of my 18 cache finds for the day, by far. A decent walk to a place you would NOT normally go, and a decent sized cache at the end of it. Great spot, I'm a sucker for caches at the end of spits/points (eg. Edwards Point, one of my favourites). Took Dragon Puzzle, left Census promotional beanie, which I imagine would come in handy here on a windy night in winter! Thanks for a great cache Robmc.
Found at 1.55pm GAFF3. After a considerable absence, I was back with more suitable attire this time. It was a fantastic day - the air was still and the river and bay glassy. Saw a few ships coming and going while I was there, but I was amazed at the number of fishermen around the Warmies/Hotties - some with a good bag of bream as well. As I arrived at GZ, I passed over the actual hiding spot and then spent 15 minutes looking every where else. Started thinking it had been muggled again as there was evidence of a lot of rocks being moved around to form a mini wall. So I had a good read of the hint, and then gave it one more go and thankfully there it was. Thanks Robmc for putting this cache in such a fantastic location. Took: Die, Left: Kaleidescope.
Took my dog for a long walk and ended up out here. It was dark and I was having trouble finding, Max was whining at being tied to the sign, so one last look and there it was.

Left a Lucky Dragon Jigsaw.

Second of ten finds for the day. A nice walk out to the point, I could not believe the amount of rubbish along the way. Thanks for taking me to this location.
The cache has been replaced. It has been there for a few weeks now, and when I checked today, it was still there, so I have enabled it.
DNF at 1.45pm GAFF3. Attempting this cache today turned out to be a bad idea for two reasons. Firstly it was a DNF. Got to GZ after a bit of a struggle against a stiff sou-easterly wind and a very rough path wearing my business suit and dress shoes. Looked for around 15 minutes in the area where the GPSr was indicating and then had a look at the hint. Spent another 10 minutes looking around, but could not locate the cache - there are a lot of places to look and I wasn't able to delve too deeply with the clothes I was wearing! The second reason why it was a bad idea was that I started becoming a little grubby and hot and I had an interview to attend to in 45 minutes time. So I cleaned myself up and got to the appointment right on time. At least I was relaxed after spending some time thinking of pleasant thoughts!
Nipped out to the point to check the 2 DNF's in 2 days - noboby home!
I will archive this cache until after Cleanup Australia Day, hoping that this location will be on someones list.

We searched everywhere for about an hour for this cache but could not find it anywhere. All we saw was an incredible amount of rubbish everywhere. It has been two onths since the last find. I wonder if the cache has been muggled or washed away. I will wait for another cacher to log a find and then go back for another attempt after that.
The area was very interesting. I did not know it even existed so thatnks for taking us out there. We saw a few ships pass by including a huge container ship from China. We tried to wave to the captain and tell him to take his cheap (probably broken as well) Chinese goods back to China but apparently he was not looking in my direction or else he would have turned around.

Found at 2:25pm
4th of 5 finds for the day.
There sure are a lot of flies in this area or maybe they were attracted to the white shirt I was wearing, I thought this would be a long walk so I kept putting this one of, it turns out it doesnt take that long at all, I was really amezed at all the different colour and shape plastic bottle tops that have been washed up on the walk.

Found at 5:10pm. Third of six on our lazy afternoon out. Actually attempted this one last time over here but it was close to nightfall and we chose the incorrect path. By the time we got back, it was too dark to make another attempt.
Today, "A" and I left "H" near the start and made the run on the correct one. As we got closer we noticed a fisherman roughly on the spot. We got to the other end and sat on the rocks for a couple of minutes to look at the boats and check out the hint. Nope, he wasn't close, he was standing right on it. Luckily though, we had spooked him enough and he moved about half way back down the path leaving us to make an easy find. Thanks Robmc from D, H & A B-A.

Found in the 1st place I looked for a change. Lots of squally rain about but dry at ground zero.
TNLNSL A different view of Melbourne, to say the least.
Thanks Rob.

Arriving at the general location we were greeted by a lightning storm so decided to wait for it to pass. Once the weather was clear we strolled along to the GZ.
This would have to be a recyclers heaven I have never seen so much plastic rubbish, and a few syringes.
The cache was found easily and we dropped off the Jeep TB for some water crossings. Just after we got back to the vehicle a huge big cargo ship left the harbour but we coudn't get back in time to experience it up close
Many thanks Robmc for bringing us to this point in our caching career.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "we got the point" Clan.

Knocked over the recently added RobMc trilogy in Williamstown (in four parts): Out On The Point, Timeball Tower, Koort-Boork-Boork, and To Climb A Tree.
I think I've found the location for next year's Clean Up Australia Day CITO Event (Sunday March 5 for your diaries). There's an unbelievable amount of rubbish out here.
Sore knees aren't the best for this type of terrain, although I think I managed to stay upright more than some others have in the logs.
TNLN - Was going to swap something in, but found the box I was going to leave was actually empty.

Our twelfth find for the day with Cracker Girl. We missed our run home, so to avoid peak hour traffic we decided to come over here and let the traffic die down in doing so. We attacked this one in fading light, after about 15 minutes search by torchlight we decrypted the clue and had the cache in hand within minutes. After admiring the lights around Williamstown we headed back in, in fading torch light.

This was the twelfth cache found today with Team Crackers and our second Robmc. Having just completed Koort-boork-boork we decided to attempt this one, hoping to beat the now fading light. As we made our way out to GZ we were surprised by the number of fisherman and hoped that our walk would not be foiled by a fishermuggle. Luckily today was our day and there was not one in sight of GZ. After searching for about 15 minutes in ever fading light I decrypted the clue and a likely spot identified, we still almost overlooked the cache but on closer examination it was revealed.
Thanks Robmc for a nice view of the Williamstown and Port Melbourne night skyline.

There is a cacher in Singapore (wherever) who offers this advice about the terrain on some of his caches: "Caution: Pls do not wear slipper". This sage advice could usefully be applied to this cache. As mentioned in the description, stilettos would last about ten seconds. The walk out reminded me of Derringer's "Elemental Forces"--I twisted my ankle several times on that one too. [B)]
Despite that, I really enjoyed this cache. Once again, Robmc has taken me to a place and shown me views of Melbourne that I didn't know existed. There was a dearth of ichthyologists today, so my search was unhindered. I had the cache in hand at 1110. As luck would have it, the only ship I saw passing was when I got back to the car--it would have been very impressive up close. Thanks again to Robmc for the experience, and for the cache.

A great walk to GZ on this fine winters day. There was no cloud cover and the sun was streaming down. So much so that by the time I got to GZ I was more than warm.
There were no big ships today, just one of the smaller cruisers from down near Southbank. There were tens of muggles with line abaited today. There is also a significant amount of rubbish and fishing line that adorn everything along this track. That can't be good for the environment.
Hmmm was my thought when I got to GZ. This could be tricky. Not so. With an accurate reading on the GPSr the cache was located in short order. Thank goodness.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Robmc. I wouldn't have come out here to get this view if it weren't for your cache.

Hi Robmc
Have been starting work late in the mornings for the past couple of weeks and consequently found time to go after this one this morning, I'm happy to say with success although it wasn't all that easy. There are a lot of crannies and nooks to look in but I eventually found the right one. Got my work clothes a bit dirty in the process but too bad. Had the added bonus of seeing a ship go pass and I have some pictures to prove it. I'll add a couple to this log later when I download them. Swapped a shark for a polar bear. I reckon the bear will feel quite at home at times out here. There was a very dead looking fish lying nearby which will probably suit him for tucker.
Thanks again Robmc for a very interesting and challenging cache.

When I saw the nearby cache appear last Monday and visited it, this one hadn't been approved. I'm glad I didn't attempt it at night - the walk out would have been ok, but it would have probably taken a lot longer to find.
Today was a lovely sunny day with only a slight breeze, but out towards GZ, the breeze seemed a lot stronger. The walk out was painless and much quicker than I had imagined. There was a muggle part way along, fishing behind his rock wind break - possibly the same man as seen by Maccamob.
Once at GZ, I did a quick check of some likely spots without success. For the next few minutes I was moving rocks around until I found the cache. There is so much rubbish all around here, you never quite know whether you are looking at a well disguised cache, or just litter. This cache should be flagged as a CITO cache.
I made no swap, so I only left my log entry. No passing ships, although there was a large one moored at the docks across the river. Now I can honestly say I've never been out here until now. Another unusual spot I have visited thanks to geocaching. Thanks, Robmc, for the cache and for taking me there.
