Very nice find on a great day, we loved the view!Contents were dry despite of the rusty box. To keep the vintage character of the cache we added a waterproof container which does fit well inside the original container. We left a TB and swapped some small items.Fav point is well deserved! TFTC!
Checking out St Pauls rock. And took a detour to this cache. Loverly place to sit and relax The container is rusting out, but everything is still dry. TFTC
Found. Good spot, fairly easy find once you get there and good privacy from other groups. Really nice to find a bigger cache for a change with lots of treasure. Looks like original container and log book. Very cool
The box is rusty and old but all is good here. Walking up the hill enjoying the view. TFTC
Very cool to find this old cache. Log is still original from 2005. In good shape.
Had to be worth the short detour off the path for this one, especially as it is an ammo box. Grass was significantly deeper than first appeared!TFTC
Day 4 of our northland road trip. Enjoyed the walk to this cache on a nice sunny day and very happy to pick it up for my Jasmer challenge. Thanks for setting it up
Wow, view. The climb this far is not too hard if you take it slow, could be slippery in the wet. Cache safe although showing its age as others have said. I needed this last cache for the S35 challenge. A great story by whom it was placed.
Great little story thanks. The camo box is rusted but still doing its job, log notebook and pencils are nice and dry.
Wow after a long time caching such box again. So funny! In the early time of geochaing we found such containers several times. Not the nicest day today for the area, but we climbed the rock without rain

Grab this one on the way back down from St Paul's Rock. The grass around the tree is about knee high at this time of year but not too far away from the track to get to the tree. The ammo can is now nearly rusted out at the bottom and several of the contents fell out when I picked it up. Thankfully it was all dry inside and log signed and everything placed back as found. TFTC.
I'm on a road trip to the far north, attempting to complete the PWGT Tahi Geotour.
This is day three, heading from Kaitaia to Whangarei via Cape Reinga.
Will expand on my logs, post photos, qualifying caches for challenges, etc. When I get home. TFTC
Quite a puff to get up here, and walking across the grass took me back to Browns Island. I wanted to get this one as it completes the 2005 row on my Jasmer grid. At least going down should be easier.

Missed this on the way up so it was our reward on the way down!
Great cache, thank you!!
Great cache, thank you!!
Very excited to find this one. A hot walk on a sunny summers day but well worth it. Dropped our pathtag in. Loved the connection to the Rainbow Warrior and the story about the trackable. Favourite from us. Thanks DigitalFudge.
What a treat! Took some first time Cache hunters with me and they were delighted with this one! A cool cache to find and a bonus that our yacht was anchored straight through the trees, I imagine it is the same spot as the RW was anchored when this cache was planted.
A big hike but worth it for the views! (We moved one of the pens from here up to the cache on top of St Paul’s rock)

The weather cleared up around noon and it turned out to be a beautiful day to do some caching
We drove up and down the tiki-tour-roads from Wainui to coopers beach.
Stopping wherever and whenever we were looking for a cache on providing parking places (great service from the COs!) and hiked along some hills, some muddy paths and some beaches
Life can be wonderful, even during worldwide difficult times
___________
After a coffee down at the Harbour we drove up to the entry point and made it to GZ, slippery walk after the rains but all so green
Found the rusty classic box and signed the logbook

What a beautiful spot to stop. Bit of a bush trek but def worth the photo. Tftc
short before bedtime we quickly got out for that one. I'm not sure if it is allowed to go through high grass area because it's a kiwi zone...

Wish I'd realised what an easy walk it actually is, as been wanting to get up here for ages, but legs were just too tired ( we thought) on our last visit to the area when we'd just completed the Cape 2 Kaitaia cycle. Took the opportunity today while picking up the car after yesterday's excellent cruise down the coast to the BOI. Whoooeee, it is blowing a gale today. The bright sun & wind would have dried the rather damp logbook quickly, but alas, was pressed for time to return to the haulout yard in Opua. I thought leaving the bag unsealed might let it dry out better Will try to bring another inner containment next visit, as the ammo can has quite a few holes rusted through. TFTC!
Thank you for cache and lovely walk that I felt on lower ankles LoL but it’s a lovely 17 degree day so no complaints.A favourite point for sure if I had one to give
The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I are on a road trip north - to the far north. TFTC. Signed NNES.

Day eight of our 11 day binge trip we are signing as NNES. We are up North visiting our friend Gracie's GPS fun. Ethness and I are having a wee road trip to St Paul's Rock and Cape Reinga today. Wow awesome spot. I took two travel bugs and will move them on. Interesting spongy grass.
Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.
Thanks DigitalFudge for placing this geocache 7823 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

On a bit of a road trip this weekend to try and make some good progress on the new Mystery at the Museum souvenir challenge. I have very few unfound caches anywhere near home base, so these challenges are a good excuse to head off on a mission and potentially visit some new places.
This was another place I had never been before. After the drive up the narrow road, I managed to find a good park and then set off for the summit. The track was very greasy and slippery after the recent rains, but I still made good time to GZ without slipping over.
Once near GZ, the cache was soon located in the hint location. Really nice to find such an oldie which fills a spot in my Jasmer grid. Cache container shows signs of it's 14 years in the outdoors and although the log is damp, it was still okay to be written on. TFTC

Log book water logged and tin is not in the best shape any more. Still ok but only just.
An amazing spot for a cache. Log book and cache are in need of a little maintenance but still usable. TFTC
Found in the dark after a scramble to the top.
Good to find a reasonably old cache still going with the original ammo can and log book. Although the ammo can has rusted completely though the bottom and the double bagged log book is soggy, but still signable.
Thanks for bringing me here.
TFTC.

TFTC... what a beautiful views.... very breath taking... in more ways than one. You'll know when you do the trek after having a break from geocaching and walking for a while!
Was in Whangaroa with our tangata whaiora today and whilst they were fishing, thought we'd explore new tracks for them... unfortunately it's not quite suitable for them but just right for me.
Was wanting to get the other cache further up but read the description and thought perhaps I need a buddy to go up with so will wait for geodad to be available to come .
Log was wet as previous finder hadn't closed snaplocks provided but was still able to sign. Lots of little goodies in there... grabbed a hacky sack and snapped for an NZ keyring.
While getting closer to location, still on the track was able to spot what I believed would be the place of GC... so made my way through some much needed to be weed eaten grass and had the generously sized cache in hand within seconds.
Great photo opportunities... cannot wait to get the one further up!

Awesome spot and view. Walk through the long grass was a small workout in itself!
I was at Kaeo Playcentre today so headed out this way afterwards. I'm keen to fill in a few dot days on my graph so I picked up the new dingy cache down below. I wanted to walk up St Paul's again for the exercise and to dry out this old cache up here. I spent about an hour carefully separating the sodden pages and drying them in the sun and wind. Some pages were ripped already and I managed to dry the logbook quite a bit but it could do with another drying session. I'll be back in a few weeks and if the weather is good I'll try to pop up again and check on it and bring a drying gel pack. I put it in another bag for extra protection. It would be nice to keep this oldie going especially since its such a beautiful location. TFTC
Northland Day 3: Today’s journey brought us from the beaches of Doubtless Bay, down through the East Coast Bays to Kerikeri, by the Bay of Islands. Today’s highlights were primarily sweeping views of the harbours and bays of the East Coast of Northland, and while it did threaten to rain, the storm never did arrive to where we were and we had lots and lots of sunshine. Good and productive day overall!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
One of the highlights of the day was to climb the Rock, and although it was warm and the trail steep, we made it up to the base of the plug and took some photos. This cache was easily found, though the can has rusted through at the contents were flooded. The logbook is damp and barely usable. Nevertheless, it was a great walk and a good excuse to get up here. TFTC!

Visiting New Zealand for the first time, of course I also had to look for some geocaches - and have nice relatives here who helped me ... maybe even won some new geocachers
This is now my first geocache found in NZ!
Indeed a great view!

We had a busy day with many nice lookouts today. The weather was weird. It was raining, then sun was shining, raining and so on. We catched a dry time spot to climb the hill. The path was very muddy but we made it to the top. Amazing view!
On our way down we had a look for the cache. Didn't take long to find it. Just before we have been at the lookout with the Rainbow Warrior Memorial. What a sad story. We loved this cache with Greenpeace background.
Thanks for showing! Tftc

As our last walk today we wanted to visit St Pauls Rock. We made it in 15 minuets up with our 4yo. What an amazing view from up there. On our way back down we waded through the tall grass to GZ. Didn’t take long to spot although it blends in very well. TFTC
Made the climb to this great spot but chose not to scale to the top of the rock using chains. Took a panoramic photo and jogged back down. TFTC
Great view and so nice spot to place a cache. We are so happy to do that walk at the top. TFTC

During a motorcycle tour of the Northlands, I took a day off to enjoy this lovely area. I walked up and located this cache, enjoying the beautiful views. tftc.
Today was another nice day for our holiday trip in new zealand were we of course also found some caches along the way.
Today we took a trip from round kerikeri.
This is one of them. thank you for maintaining this cache.

After many previous visits to Whangaroa Harbour and spying the rock above the Kiwiscot clan finally decided today we would head on up. Made a quick find of the cache then continued the upwards journey for our ultimate goal. Great views over the harbour and surrounds. Fabulous spot. Busy place today with many other persons enjoying the views. TB dropped & fav point given.
(2282) Nice wee climb to the cache. Great views even though it was 6.30pm with showers heading for us.

Found with no problem, very nice surroundings. What a wonderful place, view and rough morning exercise
Thank you for the cache and greetings from two Czechs!

I wanted to get up to St Paul's after a couple of weeks of rain and it was a beautiful day to be up there. The cache is in a really nice spot with some great views. Tftc!
Found this cache in a trip to Northland with family during the school holidays. Was a great 2 weeks enjoying the locations & the geocaches of Northland. Greetings from Nelson. Great views from the top of the rock. found easily but was quite paranoid of walking through thick grass with all the wasps everywhere. Find #85.
The walk was a challenge for me with short legs but the view was worth it. Great cache, a pity no more in this picturesque town. Another find on our NI tour. Tftc
With an hour to spare in Whangaroa and no other caches available to find in the town, Mrs agcnz and I decided to go for a quick hike to the top of St Paul's Rock. A great walk, fantastic views from the top, and of course this cache on the way. For a "quick and dirty" cache this one is impressively well done, with my favourite container type too. That certainly shouldn't need much maintenance, it's getting developing a bit of surface rust on the outside but is as good as new inside. A very quick find in the obvious place. Signed log, thanks for an excellent cache and it gets a favourite point
What a fantastic view from the top! Hiked up here during our Northland holiday. The long grass near the cache was wet though and I got soaked making my way across it. TNLN SL TFTC!
On our way to Paihia we stopped here and did this short walk. Very nice view.
Thank you very much. Best regards from Germany

An amazing place. What wonderful views from the top of St Pauls. I went up here years ago as a kid with my Grandparents when they lived in Kaeo. My kids enjoyed the long grass on the way to the cache and lying on the springy bushes. Thanks for bringing me here once again.
An amazing view once found it the path up was a bit slippery though so may want to take caution when is/has been wet.
Easy find. Interesting connection with the Rainbow Warrior, a ship that I have dived on quite a number of times over the years. TFTTC.
Spectacular views from the top of Ohakiri Pa. Another magical location. Cache was found quickly once lone tree spotted. Love ammo boxes. TFTC.
Visiting from Uk. Hired a sleeper car and travelling round the north island seeing the sights, visiting a few friends over here and hopefully picking up a few caches. Stayed at Awanui last night, heading to Bay of Islands then heading for friends in Auckland. Had to look for this one as it had been placed by a member of Rainbow Warrior. The climb was breathtaking, literally. But then so were the views. We did not make it to the top. Walking through the grass jungle to the cache was an experience. Big cache. TFTC

Beautiful clear day on the nob. Could see Australia to the West, Samoa to the North, and Chile to the East.
Always like seeing ammo cans around the place. Nice views from up here and a easy find.
1525 GAFF1 Did find a 'way' that the GPSr showed me, but when I checked with a local where I stopped he directed me over to the Old Hospital Road, and that seemed a reasonable choice. A lovely day for the walk on up. Later I realised that there 'used to be' a cache up the top, which I would have had a go for, but there has been a few DNFs on that. While the ammo tin is getting a bit rusty it is still intact, and dry inside.
Left a Correct Site Marker, surgical marking pen, a pen, and a fridge magnet (I LOVE AMMO TINS).
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, BEAGLE BIXBY, B 2 B ingot, BROWN BEAR 15, Coin of Danmark, CRDAVIS-Scottish Thistle Geocoin, DyerMkr's Copper Triple Dragon Geocoin, Fishing Bell TB, Iconic Bridges, land rover TB, Lil' Miss TB, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, PAP, Rienan TB, Spooky, steben6's DNF Duo - Super Cacher Geocoin, Trakabulldog geocoins, and trackable shirt.

Great little climb and a nice way to teach our little one about the rainbow warrior - thanks!
Great spot and quickly spotted. Quite a geotrail forming in the long grass . Tftc
