Nice quick find at 1655hrs after a bit of a scamble. The nearby road was closed due to roadworks so took an alternative route. Enjoyed the views. I don't think the terrain rating is a five, maybe a 21/2. JMO.

Nice pleasant walk yes a bit steep but OK until turning off the road great views Found again by hare tortise still following GPS info. Bit hot and steamy this morning

Thanks yogie71 - a nice view - though a little obscured at GZ. Not too bad a bush bash up from Scenic Drive.
As a kid, I used to bush bash all over this hill in 1973 - it certainly has changed a lot since then.

I wasn't going to gloat about this, but bugger it.Through my job I have acess to a key to the gate, therefore I was able to drive to within 50m of GZ at 3:00 pm today.A quick scramble up the hill, signed the log, took a penny, left a 9v battery then back on the job in less then ten minutes. Thanks yogie71 even though I did cheat.
PS GZ is on land owned by a developer not RAAF and will be in somebody's back yard within a couple of years.

Thank you yogie71 this one was quiet a challenge for me as the GPS got me very close but I then had to rely on the hints to find the actual cache which took some time as I was a little off the spot. So close but so far off.
Found it. Nice views. Parked at the end of San Antonio Court which was a very quiet area away from construction etc. Helped me sneak past that sign which I really think I shouldn't have done. Co-ords were a bit out but the description makes it very easy. The Geo track leading right to it made it even easier. Both watches are still working which was a suprise seeing how long they have been there. Took Riken Keyring. Left Blue Car. TFTC SL.
We found a route that took us to quite close to the cache before we had to scramble to gz. Didn't take us long to do which was pleasantly surprising. Took travel bug. Thanks yogie71
One of the many caches Andy from Cooroy Scouts and I found on our trip to Tropical North Qld. or should I say wet, misty sometimes cold conditions, definatley not caching weather.
Expecting a long hike up the side of a mountain we where pleased to find a quick easy walk to find the cache.
Took nothing

K1ax and I came out here today on our day off. We folloed the directions from Bob Smith's Post. The coords were much closer, but we still needed the description in the hint. TNLN SL TFTC
KD6DUN and I were expecting a long hike but although steep not much of a problem. Saw a good size (1-2 ft) lizard along the road. Expect to be attacked by flies and mosquitos.
The information for access to the site needs updating, following the instructions will take you to a plot of land which is fenced off.
I accessed via St Albans Road, from there it's a steep climb but on a sealed road. I wasn't sure about the RAAF sign either, but it is quite a few years old and maybe just a case of not having been removed. Co-ords were out for me and I used to the clue to get to GZ.

Found with geo-aunt and friend on an early morning walk. Geo-aunt and friend, who live in Townsville were shocked at the amount of development out this way. This was a good cache, hidden in a nice spot but I admit to being concerned about having to pass a No Trespassing Sign and a locked gate. The walk from the path to the cache was not pleasant. Please do wear long pants that repel speargrass if possible. Geo-aunt spent the next couple of hours pulling spear grass out of her pants. We couldn't see a path from the bitumen roadway up so had to bush bash a bit. The view was great. TNLN. TFTC.
Be sure & wear long pants & sleeves & good grippy boots for this one. Well stocked cache & well hidden although it is a little off GZ, don't think I would have found it if not for the hint.
Not to sure how to describe this one. First one in Townsville visit, and took a bit of a run around to find access. It would seem to me that things have changed a bit with all the housing development going on. When I did arrive at the access point I was confronted by a very large "Australian Air Force Tresspassing Upon This Land is Prohibited" sign, I was having second thoughts as this is in complete breach of the geocaching guidelines. But having come this far and meeting early morning walkers coming down the road I decided to break all the rules and throw caution to the wind. It would seem that the grass and thorny vines do grow well up here after rain and the way to the cache is a good example. After finding the cache I could hardly wait to get out of the place, so with the blood flowing from the many scratches I made a hasty retreat hoping that the other caches in T'ville are better located.
Went to the cache straight after work had lots of fun in the back streets trying to find the road up. Finally found the road up so of we went with gps in hand. Took muggle Matty on this one to show him what it was all about, we found it pretty much straight away as the gps was pretty close. Lots of great views from here.

I went up the hard way by the looks of it (considering there was a bitumen road for most of the way)!!
I eventually got there thanks to the very helpful hint. Forgot my camera though !
Took Teddy TB and Left a box of coloured chalk. Signed log.

I could see this area from Townsville's First cache, which I thought was rather neat. Was sure glad my wings were feeling good too cause I would have hated to be on foot for this steap climb! Found the cache just fine. I took nothing and left a little something for another cacher to trade for. The view was very nice. Thank you for a lovely cache.

Couldn't find it and not through lack of trying
but we did enjoy the view, I havn't hiked up Mt Louisa since I was in Boy Scouts, when we were rewarded with a tour through the RAAF beacon at the top
Anyhow we followed the instructions and as you can see from the pic were standing on the coords according to the trusty old Garmin. But allas couldn't find it.

Didn't read the clues because I left my PDA behind, so I headed straight up the hill from the car. After scaling straight up and over a number fo scary obstacles I came onto a bitumen road (Puff Puff Puff). Finished the climb and found the cache, No 5 for the day.

Due to the new housing estate creeping up the hill the original directions may not be quite accurate, but will get you in the right area
Just head for the big yellow sign. When you can read the big yellow sign ignore it, like I did [:o]
A cache is more than enough incentive to keep going
Grabbed the cache and took a frog. Left a puzzle cube.
The funny looking white thing on top of the hill is (probably) an RAAF radio navigation aid (TACAN) used by their military aircraft. Secret squirrel stuff

As strangers to the area, we think that we earnt the stars by finding the starting point!!! We ran into construction work at the end of St Ives, but found an alternative route. It was like a Tassie summer's day walking up the hill, even though it was winter!!! Met the tree that tries to steal hats and t-shirts! Took Townsville badge, left blue croaking frog. Thanks for the trip here.
Well so much for it being winter! I walked up the hill at about 2 in the afternoon and it was really, really hot!!! I went up the side of the hill rather than the road so I think it was a bit shorte. Some of those plants on that hill are savage!! Great views, I am sure the developers would love to get their hands on it! Found the cache in good condition took a snail water squirter and left 3 pennies.
The boy and I set out this afternoon, high hopes and eagerness aplenty. Twenty minutes into this hike and we were wondering what we were doing there. Covered in spear grass, slipping on the loose rocks and pulling spiderwebs off our faces. We soon discovered we took the wrong path up the hill so that made life interesting. Just when we decided it was time to pull the pin we thought we would give it one last search. FOUND IT!!

Left butterfly Townsville embroided patch.
Even once we found it we had no idea where the path leading to the cache was, but after it was all over there was a huge feeling of satisfaction.
Thanks Yogie, another challenge completed

Found it after looking for 30 min. Cache is approx 15m from coords. Took yoyo and left a small brass padlock.
The track from the trees was hard to follow.

14m difference between Cache position and GPS Coordinates. This is never a 4,5 / 5. You are never been in german. This is a easy cache.

Decided I needed to go out today, so selected a cahce and off I went. Nice cache, gave me another view of townsville from yet anohter vantage point. I must admit my GPS was also reporting the cache 12m off the given location.
Dropped off Big Blue TB and left some HATCH stationary

4th find for the day. Certainly a location we wouldnt have normally gone to and we were very surprised that someone had been there earlier that day.
Because of alarge number of vechiles already in the area we were unable to find a parking spot in the street suggested so we backtracked and found a street nearby which actaully ended up being a bit closer. A water bottle and a good pair of shoes are must for this one. But the views are certainly worth it.

Went for a stroll to this one with Lifted, Dexter and The Nurse. Quite an interesting walk, especially on a warm day. Hiking boots would have made things alot easier. Great view though. TNLN.
We were coming back into town and this one flashed up. The directions seemed straight forward so we followed the road to the end.
The end of the road is a construction zone allthough there were no signs to tell us not to keep going. However that big yellow sign at the gate seems pretty straight forward. I am now a little unsure as to whether it means the same in NQLD as it does in WA.
So we walked back a ways and followed the arrow. This lead us to a bitumen road where there was no big sign. (as long as you don't look around the corner)
The cache was located after a short search My GPS was about 10 metres away. In this type of country that seemed a long way as you scramble up and around.
It was a good cache (bar a nest of greenants, and the prickly bushes and ......). With all the work going on below I was wondering if this was the same hill that slipped into peoples back yards during a big storm.
Took nothing Left Nothing. Thanks for the cache

Four steps forward then slide back 3. This was hard. I followed my Geodad and worked out I was able to sneak under the prockly branches. I got attacked by a green ants when sitting next to the cache.
It had some good stuff in it. I took the Hotwheels car and left a Bart Simpson watch.
Thanks
