Maybe there was an easier way up but we climbed the rock face to get this. Log is saturated and needs replacing. Great spot! TFTC
Heading for Norseman after a couple of days at Forrestania Plots. Collected this little fella (after a bit of scrambling around) this morning at 11:115. TNLNSL TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan
Catching up with late logs.
It is finally time to head back to Victoria after five months away, we will be concentrating on adventure labs, earth caches and virtuals and anything that pops up nearby on the screen.
We actually pulled in here to do the earth cache which we thoroughly enjoyed but we weren't going to leave this one behind if we could help it. We wandered of towards gz and could see where the needle was pointing but we weren't sure how we were supposed to get there but a little bit of searching soon found a way to the right altitude where we searched and then went a little higher and searched with no luck. We read a couple of the logs to see if there was a hint, looked up from the phone and sure enough there was the cache about two meters away. We aren't sure how we managed to miss it but are happy that we found it now and our name is now in the log book.
Thanks Lyn Pat & Nathan for the cache, a favourite point for the area.

No luck for me today. These are spectacular. My cache data didn’t download so I couldn’t access the hint and I usually need it.
We can truly say that we would never have seen these stunning geological features if it were not for geocaching. TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan
A nice quick find in this spectacular spot on our slow trip across the Hyden Norseman road.
Thanks for the cache

Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
Well this was an adventure and a lot dryer, thankfully. Last time here the white mud just stuck to everything thus Max the GeoUte and Jonathan made up their own minds on where to go! Team Red Roo was guiding us via our 2 way radios. Well it was very scary!
This time we had set up camp, enjoyed a beautiful lunch and coffee then set out about 240 meters from GZ and found an easy path to the top, near a solo gum tree. The cache is all good and great to visit the old log book, although the lid is tricky to get off, but I managed and completed signing duties photos taken then back for more relaxation for the afternoon. Have a FP for your great old caches LPN

After our month in Cape Arid, megawat60 and I are slowly making our way home. Our plans included a left turn at Norseman, to camp at the Breakaways and look again for this cache after a failed attempt in very wet weather in November 2018.
The wind had followed us from the south coast and helped keep us cool as we found the best way to the best elevation. At GZ we both looked around and I made a suggestion, that he investigated, and bingo, he had the cache in hand. He signed the log and replaced it with our pathtag. Then we made our way back down, happy, to spend the rest of the afternoon in this special place.
Thanks for placing this cache Lyn, Pat Nathan, and bringing us here again, well worth a FP.

Found it. TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan. A welcomed stop and I am so pleased I did. So much to see, at one stage I forgot I was here to find a cache. Nice walk to GZ then Quick find. Replaced as found. Thanks for making me stop here.
It was getting dark so I decided to camp here. It took a while to open the container because it was rusty but other than that it was nice rock climbing, tftc!
A quick easy find whilst dawdling home to SA after our weeks stay in WA. Travelling with Lidds and Miss Goosey. If it wasn't so early in the day this would be the place to stay the night. Spent longer than needed to so much awe to look at. (Spoiler approach from the top)
Heading home after spending some time on the Holland Track amongst a group of like minded people.
Have always wanted to come in here and check the place out, which I can now say I have done so.
Got here late in the afternoon and it was my initial plan to spend the night here, but was still quite hot and the flies were too friendly.
Quick find at GZ.
Thanks for the cache Lyn Pat and Nathan.
Cheers

Met up with Barnzy12 and Cravo10 to grab three caches down the Hyden-Norseman Road before meeting up with other cachers to do the Holland Track. Made a quick find here. Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan
Day 2 of the holland track trip and today we left Kulin this morning and ended up in Hyden before camping the night at Emu Rock.
We had a few hours spare so decided to head down Hyden Norseman road with Richlink to grab the two traditional caches and the earth cache.

On a enjoyable weekend away driving the Holland track, with a support crew of 8 other cars and multiple caching teams we made our way through stopping for 2 nights on the track.
Log was signed in many ways, some great memories made either on the track or around camp.
A very enjoyable time away and glad I made the time to complete as well as come out the other end with no damage to report.

I stayed at the Lake Johnston campground. I was the only one there. After packing up I continued the Woodlands Discovery trail.
It was a bit of climb at GZ but once on the plateau it was a quick find. TFTC

Took advantage of a rest stop to stretch the legs an interesting rock formation and great camping ground here cache is in good condition but the log books although sealed in a plastic bag were damp but still managed to do the signing duties TFTC
After camping not far south of Norseman last night, I made an early start to resume my journey west, taking the Norseman-Hyden Road.
I called into these quite spectacular breakaways for a look and to find this cache and do the nearby earthcache. I’m glad I did as these are some of the most vividly coloured breakaways I have seen.
Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan for the cache.

We sounded very repetitive. WOW and WOW! Spectacular. Thanks so much for putting this cache out. A little adventurous climb and had it in our hands.
Headed homeward after a couple of days of camping we stopped by to visit The Breakaways…. LPN, you always take us to amazing places & this was definitely one of those! Would have loved to have camped here also
TFTC & for the fun, Cheers Cache was found in good condition, looks like its had some history in its time!

Ouick find whilst camping at the Breakaways campground. Cache is all good. Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan for placing a cache here. TNLN. Log signed. Definitely need to go to upper level though.
Cache was found after a very short search. The only issue was getting to the correct elevation, best to go a little past GZ and then it becomes quite easy at access the cache. Another amazing area.
Thanks for the hide Lyn Pat and Nathan.

Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches. After slip sliding our way closer to GZ and having to abort that route we headed back down another easier track and walked about 180 meters in. At near GZ we were perplexed so I searched high and low with no joy at all.
Thanks for the hide and bringing me here just sadnot to gain a smiley but at least I should get the EC one.

EDIT: We have been informed that even though the note below says its MIA it may still be there in its hollow....give it a good look around before resorting to step 2 below...haha.
Our caches are always easy to find. It sounds like gremlins have taken it again.
Feel free to REPLACE it if you are looking for it.
Any place within the are suggested by the coordinates will do.
We prefer to use free types of containers with replacements as they have no value so are less likely to be taken. (well you would think it should be like that).

Today was day 7 of our Wheatbelt/Holland Track/Goldfields adventure, and what an adventure it has been. We had two days wandering the wheatbelt, picking up caches here and there as we wended out way towards our rendezvous point in Hyden where we were meeting up with others who would be travelling the Holland Track with us. We (Team Red Roo, SeabreezeOZ, m4yb, megawatt60, ebenie and Mistraluna) had an amazing time on the Holland and are still sharing photos, memories and laughs via our facebook group. It was sad to be the first to leave the group, but SeabreezeOZ and I were on a limited timeframe and had to start heading back towards home before the others. They say that all good things must come to an end...
But we weren't quite ready to just tuck our tails between our legs and head for home. No, we did a search of goldfields caches with fav points as a filter and came up with a "Must Do" list to grab whilst still in the area. I had never been into Kalgoorlie before yesterday, not really ever being interested in venturing too far from the ocean, so I was very impressed to see so much history around the place, and amazing landscapes as we travelled first east from Coolgardie into Kalgoorlie/Boulder, and then southwards down towards Kambalda, finishing our day not too far from the shores of Lake Lefroy. Sunrise at the lake was a definite highlight of the trip too, an experience I would recomment to everybody.
From Lake Lefroy, we continued in a southerly direction, stopping off here and there to climb the odd hill or two in search of trigs, or to take photos at other interesting locations on our way into Norseman. Once we reached Norseman, it was time to grab a few items from the local IGA and do a lightning tour around town, picking up the newer caches that had appeared since my last visit. After a rather nasty encounter with some locals, we weren't keen to hang around any longer and headed over to the Lake Cowen Lookout for a lunch stop and a chance to say goodbye to the goldfields before hitting the Norseman-Hyden Road as we headed west towards Wave Rock once again.
My companion had already found the caches along this stretch (apart from Thiel Rock, and we hadn't done our research on how to tackle that one) but was more than happy to stop so that I too could claim my smileys along this road. Had "discovered" this location on the internet when researching on the net for possible campsites for this grand adventure, and am very happy to see how beautiful the place is with the sun hitting it from the right angle. Unique location, and one that I will be recommending to others who might be contemplating travelling on this road. Cache was found easily enough once I was at the right elevation. Log signed, and cache replaced as found. Then it was off to tackle the EC. Fav point for this one.
Huge thanks to Lyn Pat and Nathan for placing and maintaining this cache for the rest of us to come and find.

Sorry for late log, been cleaning up and found few miss out to log it.
On way to Norseman from Hyden. The dirt road is good.. Some of them I miss out because I did not download only few. better than nothing.
The weather was great .
Lovely Rock colour.
Bit searched about 10m away.

We found just a plastic bag with soggy log under a pile of rocks, no container. We constructed a whole new cache, added a few clean bits and pieces, dried out the old log book and put in a new one. Should be good now for another couple of years.
Thanks for the cache Lyn Pat and Nathan, love the location we stayed here for the night.

The smell continues. We believe it could be animal urine on and around the cache. Contents are fine though.
Found with a young new cacher, Broggin, the cache container was covered in rocks, not in a bush but in an open area which is unsafe for young cachers. Maybe the container has been changed from the original as it is sturdy enough for rocks and will not crack. Perhaps the listing needs updating! Was an excellent view of the surrounding countryside and an enjoyable find except for the smell (reading logs from March 2016 I can see why). Perhaps it needs to be in a less exposed area, rather than in full view of all and sundry. TFTC

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Hint needs to take account of a harder location.
Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan for placing this cache.

Interesting country to walk across with the breakaways forming a fascinating backdrop. Hide looked out of place so easy to find. TFTC. Campers near by but showed no interest.
I was continuing me cruise from Hyden to Coolgardie today,
and found the Breakaways
A lovely spot,
and looking good since the council took it over and have started revegetation work [^]
I went a strolling to find GZ.
And after a short scramble,
soon found this largish cache
Logbook signed,
I wondered what the white powder was for !
A read of past logs explains that unsavoury episode

What a great spot. We enjoyed our camp here and having a cache was a bonus. The area was fresh and green and a delight to travel through. Tftc
Found it in VERY bad shape
Never experienced this before, some idiot had a s*h*i*t in the cache if you can believe it (pardon the language).
We stayed the night on this lovely spot and cleaned it out.
Threw out most of the contains, but saved the log which was is a zip bag.
Put in some new items and placed everything in zip bags.
Still a bit smelly though, we left some washing powder in it to absorb the smell.
But if someone can leave an air refresher or something like that would be nice.

Camped here for a couple of days. A beautiful spot. Thanks for placing a cache here
A great place to visit....a bit bare in places due to the fires but still amazing....don't forget the aeroguard!
Found while on a camping trip looking for orchids.
The previous finders were Muggles the previous day (see photo) who left a note and replaced the cache.
Unfortunately recent fires have removed all the vegetation and the cache is now quite exposed within a rock cairn.
We added more rocks to better hide the container. TFTC LPnN. Worth a favourite.

Great spot. Probably didnt see it in all its glory due to recent bushfires. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
Very beautiful here thanks fot showing us new sites we probably would drive by without knowing this place. Thnx from Ducteam.
Heading out to McDermid Rock and Cave Hill via the John Holland Way with my two sons for the weekend.. Quick find but a bit of un-coordinated climbing involved
Always have to call in to this spectacular place. Even on a hot day, it didn't disappoint. Finding this cache took us to an area we hadn't explored before and more photos. TFTC LP&N
Scooped this one up whilst on a road/camping trip. Breakaways are amazing and well worth a visit. Thanks Lyn Pat & Nathan.
Glad to report no snake today. No pen either so BYO. This place was luxury after where we had been camping. To actually sit at a picnic bench... priceless. Great to have ridden the Holland Track but returning on the Woodlines much better riding.

Thanks for the cache Lyn Pat and Nathan. Driving along the Hyden-Norseman road towards Hyden. Spending a bit of time getting a few caches on our way to Hyden to do the Holland track. Thanks for taking us to this beautiful spot. The variance of colours in the rocks is really quite something.

Cache is in good condition but watch out for the snake that may be under it or nearby.
Fantastic campsite, also a great drive on the Granite Woodland Hwy.
Found the cache with Sudzy.
NOTE, THERE WAS A SNAKE IN THE CAIRN UNDER THE AMMO TIN. It did not move. Beutifull broze/copper colour.
Be careful if you have cacheing kids with you.

Thanks team "Dicksontwo" we love reading such positive storybook style cache logs. It brings back good memories of the Breakaways and our own travels in the area.
We think that location would work well for a cache event sometime as its 2wd access and close enough to do for a weekend. (at a push)
Happy cache hunting have many more interesting finds and adventures.

Waving Farewell to the Rock (yeah, bad pun) we set off in lovely weather to drive The Granite and Woodlands Discovery Trail, see the great countryside and find the six caches. Such a better name than Hyden Norseman Road and a terrific leaflet, anyone following should get hold of one at the Information places. We were grateful to sylken who helped us out when we were floundering, trying to get started. In the event, we had an exciting and almost wholly successful trip with five finds.
The lovely weather of yesterday, however, didn't last today. We were wakened in our 'van at 6.00 am by rain but it stopped and we were down the track and the rain wouldn't last, so we set off. The rain had started then stopped again before we found this cache second at 11.45. We left a tag for the next finder or the C O if around this way, TN. A couple of travellers visited. Many thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan, this is a truly beaut spot and we would rather find one cache in locations like this Trail than a dozen urban micros!

[:(!] We are on our last day after doing part of the Holland Track for our epic adventure for the last couple of days, after camping at McRock we were on our way again heading for home (Perth), on the way we picked up this cache, we parked the geocars as close as possible to GZ and we walked the rest of the way, on arrival at GZ we had the cache in hand in a matter of minutes.

A very impressive spot that we were told about by my parents, and we planned to stop for lunch after a quick visit to Hyden to buy supplies-imagine our delight when we discovered there was a cache to find as well - bonus! Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan, we are always delighted to find one of your caches. TNLN
This place took our breath away [^] [^].
The colours were spectacular and so unexpected to come across such a place virtually in the middle of nowhere . The rain had eased so after finding the cache we parked the car in an awesome natural alcove and enjoyed a leisurely lunch to take in as much of the natural beauty as we could .
Couldn't help but spend as much time here as possible before moving on .
Took lanyard. Left Tow Truck. SL.
Thanks again Lyn Pat and Nathan for a very memorable caching experience.

This is a fantastic drive, great road and the Breakway stop is very worth while the stop and search. Found my very first cache here, so exciting. The rocky cliffs here are amazing, they look like strawberry swirl icecream and we found them more impressive than the famous wave rock further along the road!
