Can the owner please check that this cache is still in place? It looks as though it has gone, after 3 DNFs since July last year.

Leap year day find ! A lovely little spot and one that we have never been to before so this made a nice trip on our holiday whilst in Golden Bay. 4 of us searched for about 30 minutes but could not find. Found some of the things referenced in the clue and then searched around but still no luck. 2 x Muggles around and watched us with interested but never asked what we were doing. TFTC

Had a pretty good look around but couldn't find the cache. Thanks for taking us there though !

23-Jul-11
There has been a large tree fall down what I determined to be GZ, and I think the cache may be squashed under it. Either that or I was looking in the wrong places.

Amazing. I would of never gone here otherwise. Really interesting history. have driven past here hundreds of times over last 15 years and did not know it was here.

Beautiful exploration of Clifton, cemetery and surrounding areas. A great first experience of Geo Caching.

November 2005 was my first caching visit to this spot... Have been back at least 3 times since, but this time I found the cache, I logged the cache, I wrote down the series number and - I logged the cache online! That makes a complete set. Now all you need to do is to archive the cache and to republish it and I might need to come back 5 times more Smile Many thanks, awesome spot. Have some photos to show you how different the current hide is to the clue but it doesn't seem to phase most people it seems.

Nice to come back here for this cache, took a bit of searching but we enjoyed the stroll. TFTC

WOW - this is a great multi! We were already very happy with the beginning: a nice historic cemetery. After the first calculation we thought we made a mistake and recalculated. Yep this must be it and a second reading of the description and of the previous logs made us walk to GZ. The closer we came the more we felt assured. What a lovely place and surprise visit because of this cache! At GZ we also enjoyed the cache title Big Grin Great work - this cache has everything: one of the better caches we did in NZ!!!

Really cool place for a final destination, was actually at this spot a few days earlier but hadn't looked for caches in this area so had a good laugh when we returned to pick this one up. It was close on dark when we found the cache so looked for Glow worms in the passage but they were hiding also. TFTC

Loved this multi - one of the highlights of our trip. Very peaceful at the first waypoint, and stunning at the second. Now we understand the cache name. Many thanks for showing us this amazing site.
Remembered to collect the digit for the Golden Farewell cache.

A very remote and quiet old cemetery. Interesting to read some of the memorials. The necessary numbers were easily found and the final location certainly looked well worth a visit so off we went. Lovely walk and views. The cache was an easy find, once nearby muggles were safely out of sight. Thanks for a great multi. SL. TFTC.

Cache of the day for sure, I really enjoyed the visit to the final, stunning in more ways than one and very cleverly themed.
Many thanks BuzzTasman

05-Oct-10
At first I thought I made some mistake with the numbers (as I usually do) because the final was quite a bit away ... but then .. wow this area is really amazing ... and the name of the cache pretty much proved that we were right anyways ...
Thank you so much for showing us this awesome place, otherwise we would have never come here Big Grin

Grabbed the stats for this one and was going to sit down and work it all out but decided to visit an area Niteowlnz and i had visited awhile back again. Walked in and when walking through the area i looked up and saw the cache namesake. A quick look around and cache was under the belt Smile. Thanks for the cache.

Last day of our holiday and decided to spend it caching went to the first leg and got all the required info - decided we would work it out and come back another day - but when visiting a spot later on that I love - Stretch0 had an ah ha moment and the cache was soon in hand - thanks for two interesting sites to visit for this multi - signed the log Smile

A quick answer the questions cache, cemetery cache Uhmm! But glad the final was somewhere else. Decided that a quiet walk in the dark would be fun, but didn’t realise the final was in this location, yes very interesting final GZ. Took little longer than it should have to find the final but found it in the end. While heading back to the car we spot and turned off our touches and admire the Glow-worms and then Mrs Yeetrees told us the legions about the ghosts that hang around this location (THANKS!!!). A really nice and interesting spot for the final GZ. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC TNLNSL (1721)

Out for a bit of night caching after dinner, what better than a cemetary cache! Nice easy calcs, then off to the final. What a cool spot - I could have sworn I was in an Indiana Jones movie as we entered the passage! Took a bit of hunting and re-reading the hint before spotting the cache. Another number collected...

Nice old cemetery with so interesting stones. We could have stayed for quite a while. But supermarket was just about to close. Anyhow, thanks for bringing us here. A beautiful place for a graveyard.

Visited this cache for the second time to take some international visitors. Quite a few muggles have logged their visit (after having just stumbled on it) in sometimes inappropriate ways. Wonder whether this cache might be better in a smaller box that could fit a little further into the hiding place. I removed the log note pages that were inappropriate and hopefully all will be well for a while. Jackie.

29-Aug-09
Great location! We think this may have been muggled as we found the lid on the path on the way there - only the log book and pencil inside when we found it. Have put it back together and hidden where it should be. Lovely walk on a lovely day! TFTC!

Did this at night time, which the kids loved. A really good multi! Many thanks Smile

Ah found it, actually we stumbled upon the old one also. Both were exposed. After consulting the cache owner it appears we have placed the live cache back in its proper location.
Be warned, if you find the original it has been really messed up, keep looking for the other.
Apart from that this is a great place to visit. Thanks.

One of the highlights of our caching weekend in the Bay.
A fascinating snapshot of history at the first stage of the multi, then a breath taking finish ... truely awesome. Thanks for taking us there ....

Found this one as part of a bike ride from Tata Beach to Pohara, taking in a couple of caches. Got lost and ended up riding along Clifton Beach, but very pleasant detour. Eventual GZ absolutely delightful, as I'd never been there before. TFTC.

Really enjoyed finding this cache. Long walk to both parts but loved discovering parts of the area we wouldn't otherwise have known about. Thanks!

nice one, had not been to this grave yard before, so cool. Had been to cache site before, easy find. thanks

Fantastic cache - we were slightly confused by the presence of a psuedo geocache not far from the real McCoy.

Staying just down the road so out on a lovely evening doing a bit of caching. Loved both spots especially the reserve with the final WP. We have been in alot of NZ bush over the years but nothing as unquie and lush as this !! Quick find. A few muggle notes in the log so rehid well. NINO TFTC.

The threatening rain stayed away for this explore which took us to some interesting locations. Thanks Buzz. We thoroughly enjoyed this cache. I've been here before, but the tracks are much better now.

Reading a few pages back in the log is quite interesting. Obviously the existence of the cache is quite well known by local teenagers who use it as something of a dating agency!

26-Oct-08
Another good one in the Golden Bay series, interesting history and slightly sad, but taking us to a place that we wouldnt have found that was just fantastic!! Found the cache at final location easily so hid it a little better as was very exposed, as there was no rock covering it so found a few nearby to hide it a little better from muggles.

11-Oct-08
Found this with our friends during our farewell weekend in Golden Bay. Sandy found some other hidden thing close by, which was quite amusing... Great cache, thanks, TNLN

30-Mar-08
We have visited Golden Bay maybe 12 times in the last 12 years driven past the cemetry and reserve and never realised what we were missing. Both spots are magical and the lookout on a clear night would be something else. We left our smilly Smile ball as witness to our joy. Murrayroma and Soggyboots

10-Mar-08
Really enjoyed the area thought of visiting anyway so this gave us a purpose to come here TFTC

08-Feb-08
A very moving waypoint, pieced together a very sad story. Final was fantastic. We had so many brochures in the car it was listing to one side, yet not one mentioned this place. Had a neat game with our eight year old imagining that it was a place dinosaurs could still be found.
TNLN, thanks for bringing us to a new favourite spot!

01-Feb-08
AWESOME SITE! thanks for showing me this amazing site!
took heaps of photos. found with yardbirds. shame bout the muggles finding it. maybe should change to a mystry cache to stop vandalism instead of taking it away completly.

Lovely reserve. have been around the area on holidays but never knew it existed. TFTC.

23-Jan-08
A really enjoyable find this. We'd just been in the nearby Earthsea gallery (a *must* visit in it's own right: stunning art and a really lovely spaniel) and fired up the GPS by chance as we were leaving... sure enough, a cache nearby... which then took us to another gorgeous spot. The find was slightly *too* easy; so I checked the clue as we replaced it and installed the missing feature. TNLNSL - thanks for another great cache, BT Smile
ps. Someone seems to have already dropped in a new log book.

12-Jan-08
Anyone intending on visiting this cache in the next week or so it would be appreciated if you could put in a temporary replacement logbook until the owner can get back here to maintain the cache.

10-Jan-08
Holidaying at Tukurua, haven't been to this area before. Very interesting walk to the Cache Site, stunning rock formations, will be calling here again.

Unfortunately, looks like cache has been muggled. Cache container is still there, but it's only contents are a cigarette butt !

Thanks for showing us this fascinating reserve, will certainly be back one day !

Great final location - tried to visit here a couple of years ago (pre caching days!) but the kids were fighting and we never made it. Great to get there today while Nan has the kids. -GC +GC

Fantastic Cache. I'd never been to either locations before. Thanks very much Buzz! Exchanged geocoins.

After 6 caches in the morning we headed to the golf course for nine holes. Ready for more turned the GPS on to find a cache nearby and the coolest cache too. The Reserve is quite a little gem and then to burst out onto the lookout on such a perfect day was brilliant.
The cache was "rockless" so have covered it with several.
Left Mr Belt's Racing TB. Please hurry it on.

After retrieving the clues we knew exactly where this was - our favourite Golden Bay walk - was just getting dark as we arrived so powered up to the cache (prior knowledge mean't we didn't even need the GPS) - view was wonderful as the sun started to set.

Always very interesting these historic sites. Very tranquil. No problems with coordinates at final site, had to readjust the 10m offset as GPS indicated down from the platform. Glad we didn't follow this advice.
Fantastic geological site. Thanks for this interesting cache.

This turned out to be a bit of an epic caching trip!! We went to the location of the first cache on a wild and windy day, found the answers and then set off for the main cache site only to find that a large tree had fallen across the only way out!! Luckily help (in the person of a local with a chainsaw) arrived and, with our help, we escaped to finish it off.

At the main cache site we had to wait for a break in the torrential rain and nearly called off the search. Glad we didn't as it was in a fantastic spot!!! TNLN TFTC

18-Feb-07
Took us quite some time to get there - because our wee one was interested, too. Calculating was easy enough to get to the destination. And what a view! TNLN. Thx

08-Feb-07
Fluke had it that we went sightseeing at the final cache site first. Thinking that something had to be hidden here I looked up the GPS and found a multicache 1.6 km away. Deciphering the clue made it obvious were to look, so got it without GPS coords. You need luck sometimes Smile
Great spot! Thanks for getting the out of towners into these nice spots.

Cache of the day for us, awesome spot!
Spent ages here exploring all the nooks and crannies, great stuff. Love the way the trees spread their roots over the rock outcrops.
