We searched in vain for a long time here. I also believe that changes have been made here and that the cache has probably been lost.
Our second DNF along here this morning. I was keen to tackle this one given its age but given its age and time since last find I think the area has changed a little.
Gone is the hunted ‘stay’ but working on where it probably was I poked around in the toitoi having moved a good number of discarded branches and allowed for many years of toitoi growth.
I found what could have been a hint-type object but found nothing underneath.
Thanks surf'n

Last cache for now along the beach, walked down from the camp ground and the beach walking was popular today, a few people around. On the end and the hint had me close but took a bit of searching by touch before I made the find. All good with the cache and a relative oldie being over 12 years old this cache. T F T C surf'n
Another weekend day with a Geocaching theme planned; a trip (back) over the hill (again) and head out to Mapua Bay to get the Earthcache out there as well as 'one or two' other options. We left Blenheim at around 730 and returned just after 7 so a good day out was had by all, with the Tasman weather at its best yet again. Caching crew was me, ricardinho.nz and Jojo74 and between us we navigated, found and travelled the roads, and beaches, of Ruby Bay grabbing caches as we went. Logs were signed in various combinations of Ri/Jo/Ca. We also came across a few other cachers; Wellwishers near Marriages Road, 'Snook' (I think) in Mapua athletic park, and a pre-arranged meet up with the good guy that is mr gdguys at Hoddy Estuary park.
A few more for the totals and some more yellow smiley conversion completed over that region of NZ, catching up with Wanganui/Manawatu again.

Last find on this beach today after walking down here to do the Earthcache. Capperz found the hint item quickly but the cache was well hidden. All good though. TFTC surf'n.
Sunday was the second day over the hill for us this weekend. Today's target area was around Mapua, and the crew today was Jo, Capperz and Ricardinho, with most logs being signed RiCaJo, or something similar. Nelson turned on the weather, and some good caches were found and we bumped into a few cachers on our travels as well. TF all the caches to the COs.

Earlier we passed some people who had a couple of dogs with them - one was a golden lab. The lab took a bit of interest in us and the people kept walking. We kept waiting for them to call their dog - but that didn't happen. The dog had been with us for about half an hour by the time we got to this cache. To cut a long story short the labs family turned up about an hour later on a four wheel motorbike and took their lovely dog home. This cache was exactly as the hint suggested. We really enjoyed walking along this beach as it is somewhere neither of us had been before and it was such a lovely afternoon. Thanks surf'n for the cache
Nice walk along the beach in the afternoon with fefe.adrien. We found perfect flat stones for throwing on the sea surface ! But the high tide was coming so after this cache we decided to came back to the Mc Kee Campground.

Ninalila and I enjoyed our sunny afternoon to do a walk along the beach before the high tide.
We had to hurry on the return because the sea was really close to the cliffs.
We finished with the cache in the campground before set up camp for the night

The Taybees and I headed off to Nelson for some new bling to add to our souvenirs pages. As well as the earth cache and a few others we found on Kina Peninsula, we failed to find two caches that hadn't been found since 2012 and had in fact been archived (What's Taybee doing with them on his GPS anyway?). Then got stuck for 1 1/2 hours on the way back waiting for a horrific accident to be cleared. Car vs 3k3 high tension power pole. Power pole was lying across the road. Car was thoroughly crushed on bonnet and one side. Saw driver air lifted out so hope they are going to be okay. Had to wait for the electrical guys to cut the wires, pull the pole clear before we could continue. Eventful day!
Nice walk downthe beach to this, then walking back claiming the others along the way. After 2 minutes searching for the cache here young Taybee NZ calls out "What's the hint!?" "You don't need a hint" I yell back - Turns out I was right - we found it only a minute later. There's too many people reading the hint before they start looking - makes it too easy.

A photo from here will hopefully work for the second task set for The Kina Cliffs Earth Cache
Found the item in hint 1 check.
Found the item in hint 2 check.
Unable to look under it, so dug out all the sand, stones and debris that had been washed there most probably in the Easter storm. Still couldn't find the cache. May still be there and buried.

Nice walk in the morning, collecting pretty pebbles on the way. Lovely beach. Tftc.
A lovely fine summer afternoon walk as the tide was going out. Plenty of interesting rocks to examine on the way. Worth a favourite. No problems finding the cache. TFTC
After spending the entire Labour Weekend working on our new house and garden, it was time to have some R & R, so off we headed to McKee Domain to let the dog stretch her legs and get some sea time. A lovely walk up a virtually deserted beach to get this one. TFTC. J&G and dog.
Somehow we found ourselves with a plan to do a few caches around Kina notwithstanding the weather forecast. By the time we hit the peninsula the sky was blue but with menacing looking clouds circling us at some distance. We took the risk of the weather turning and in the end walked all the way stripping layers of clothing Good to see an almost antique cache still in prime condition. TFTC
We decided to ignore the stormy weather developing around us and take a walk along the beach to find some caches. This one has long been on our radar but no effort made to find it until today. The walk was completed in sunshine but very soon after the rain began in earnest again. TFTC.
A nice QEF after strolling down from the EC. Was expecting a lot more from the ratings?

on a very hot Nelson day we found this cache after a wonderful picnic lunch. find was made alot easier as picnic was with the nearby landowner near the cache. Rather amazed Mr American can change cliffs to the contours he perfers. TFTC
A great afternoon for a walk along the shoreline.
After returning the cache to it's home, I met the local landowner who's aware of it's presence, he was curious as to when it had last been visited.

#600, 13:45, my jubilee cache! And searching wasn´t easy. But when then I saw hint ... TFTC!
made this one harder than it should by using the rightcoordinates but bifferent clues we even had help from a friendly local. but got there in the end. thanks.
Forgot to read the hint before we left but found it just before we were about to leave. Thanks heaps for the cache. Was good to go for a walk without getting rained on =)
Really nice but hot walk around from picnic area today. Tide well out and beach fairly easy walking . Soon at cache site. TFTC
Great walk along the beach. TFTC. Future searchers might be interested to know that a "Walk Tasman" sign was spotted near the cache. It could be worth investigating the possibility of a third approach to GZ.
Enjoyed the walk along the beach to this cache in the cool of the early evening after a hot day. TFTC
Nice low tide Sunday morning walk. Dog flushed out a very colourful pheasant from a tree right at gz. Good cache, thanks.
our target cache of the day, took the long option to enjoy beaut stroll in calm morning sun. also checked out the crazy private beach access further along....oh to have the dosh !!
Had a lovely walk in the sun with hubby Stretch0 to collect a "pocket" of caches that we have been meaning to do for awhile was nice to sit in the sun and fill in the log before the return journey took nothing left nothing thanks for the cache
Pleasant stroll with Mrs Teapot bright and early this morning. Interesting looking at the location of some of the houses. Reminded me of a story I heard once about a man who built his house upon the sand... Thanks for the cache.
Am surprised this cache hasn't been visited for so long. Lovely walk along the beach despite very windy weather. All fine. TN, left Alien. TFTC
finally found after an extensive search. thought it may have been washed away. big tides and strong winds have pushed water way up past gz. no muggles anywhere just 1 seal.
Fourth and final Kina Beach cache for today. Enjoyed the walked down from the Kina reserve. No problems at GZ. Good hide, TFTC, Biggles.
thanks so much for this fantastic walk up the beach this evening. Just what I needed. (571)
I couldn't locate this cache without using my hands but after reading the clue it was pretty clear where it must of been. Beut Sunday Autumn afterrnoon for a wander down the beach. Cheers.
Checked after comment by eraserman. Still in exact place although I almost came to the same conclusion. Your fingers will locate what your eyes can't see. Surf'n
could not find cache even after an extensive search in the obvious place. Looked like it should have been there.
Was within 2 metres with an accuracy of 4 metres so was really close.
Assuming it has been muggled or we are blind!

Nice walk along the beach at low tide, also did the earth cache that is close by. TFTC
We don't seem to plan enough to consider tides, so left McKee domain pretty much on high tide. Still a nice walk and the tide went out pretty quickly. Lots of human erosion at cache site. I thought I read that he was going to plant lots of natives on the bank. Seems not yet.

For some odd reason, this one has always been 'the wrong cache'. Either wrong tides, wrong time, wrong direction. But today, with the added bonus of a new Earth Cache 450m further on, it was time to finally tidy up this area. I know us Johnny Come Latelies to geocaching are as soft as marshmallow, but that kind of hide is the kind I normally walk away from. This time I was by myself, no kid pressure, no traffic, no muggles, all the time in the world, so decided to go against my better instincts and go for it. When I realised blood was running down my arm, I decided to fire up the iPAQ and get some help. Thanks for the explicit hint - it saved additional transfusions. Extremely cool hide, but I would have been lacerated and gone home without the hint . Thanks for the smiley!
Mr Explorer found this one with QMoto, lovely walk, the day was getting very hot so this was the last and 25th cache for the morning (21 for QMoto and 18 for us). TFTC.
Nice walk along the beach, only Team Fuddley out here today had the whole beach to ourselves. TFTC
Nice walk from Kina on a hot winters day, saw there is a Walk Tasman sign there but it didn't seem to go any were, have to ask them at the council for directions and go and do it again,

Wonder if Trent knows this cache is 'dedicated' to him. Cliffs gone by his doing and recently he has closed a walkway, which was claimed to pass through his private property. Have to prevent him privatising part of the beach next as is not uncommon in the USA to do so.
Fortunately it's still there and we had a lovely walk along the beach. Nice cache.

Finally got around to doing this cache, a really nice walk along the beach and sheltered from the wind too.

Drove down from Tapu Bay as we had a few days holiday there. Decided to drive to [Kina] and park in car park down from [golf course]. Did'nt know there was a [track down to beach] but we enjoyed the walk along beach. Got a bit hairy as lightening out to sea and we were worried about getting caught in a storm in the wide open. Found OK with clue also found a dead 3 foot baracuda on the beach nearby (the kids thought this was the best bit !!).

A beaut walk under a threatning sky; easy find but started to spit a bit as i filled in log and new it was going to be a slow walk back as i had 3 pre-school mini cachers with me.any way they managed it with out getting too wet so it was a good effort all round. Thanks for the great beach walk and a nice spot for a cache.

It was getting late so Rodney decided to run in from the Bluff along the beach - 20 mins return all up. "Pleased" to find a walking track straight down to the cache site that would have been even quicker!! A pleasant reserve at the cache site. Cache was found quickly.
Thanks

Ended up taking bang on about 30 minutes return trip to the car. Walked down to the cache in about 14 minutes, spent a few minutes searching and writing up the log, before having an easy jog back. As a brief aside, I can look out the window of the room I am typing this and see Trent's old place No exchange made. Cheers Gav [731]
Nice stroll on the beach with the tide right out.
Had a good look in the rock pools at all the sea life.
Cache site was interesting, I had heard about this.
I see that there is a "Walk Tasman" sign there. I think he must have had to put a walkway in as part of his recourse consent! so perhaps there is a shorter way to the cache site?
TNLN Cheers and thanks for the cache

We felt it appropriate to do this one on 9/11. It was a lovely spring day for a walk down the beach. The head geocacher enjoyed the walk, plunging into the sea with alarming regularity. - yellow key chain + firetruck

Nice One!!!!!! One of our favourite coastal walks. Little pools of water in the rocks at low tide well worth a look. Finished the morning by having Mapua smoked fish for lunch. It doesn't get any better! +Kiwi Kid - Multi-coloured Fish Thanks
Nice walk along the coast. Just about got caught by the waves a couple of times as it was high tide. Easy find once at the cache site. -teddy + brass keyring
Monday being our day off we decided to do the beach walk. Very pleasent. - whisle + a fish as it is beside the sea.
Not sure how far behind we were! Did the sea-kayak out from Mapua, and very pleasant it was too. Didn't hang around out of the boats, it's much colder out of them than in!
