#7725Day 5 of Camerons Corner road trip travelling from Bourke to the corner. After a quick beer and setting up the tents, it was time to have some fun. Collected info, relocated and gathered more info. iPhone wasnt happy without mobile signal so it took a moment to figure out where we needed to go. But once in the right spot, happy to add my name to the log. Captured some amazing sunset photos after dinner. Awesome to finally be at our target location. TFTC richary

Day nine of my Three Corners tour, visiting all three of Queensland's remote western corners over 12 days.Last night we camped on the Cooper at Innamincka. This morning, we are heading to our last corner - Cameron's Corner. Initially, our route took us south from Innamincka before dog legging west to Moomba, continuing south again and finally turning east to Cameron's Corner.Arriving at the corner, we collected the necessary photo's, congratulated ourselves and headed into Qld for a beer at the pub to celebrate. Whilst the rest of the team lubricated themselves with a third and a fourth schooner, I headed out to do this multi. I had already spotted the second waypoint clues earlier, but wanted the full experience, so I worked through the clues from the start, visiting all three states and making an easy find at[14:33] . We set up camp behind the pub and enjoyed a magnificent sunset, with a hearty curry dinner. around the camp fire. A boisterous late night party at the pub, which continued out the front with takeaways well after closing time did not stop me from sleeping. The next morning, for a bit of fun, I decided on a predawn morning run. I started in South Australia near the corner post and ran along the fence line to the NSW gate. I venture about 1 kilometre into NSW before returning back through the gate to South Australia. Here I ran about 1 kilometre west into South Australia before returning to the corner post, where I completed three laps around the post. Finally, I crossed the border into Queensland and ran about a kilometre down the road to the north east, before returning to camp behind the pub. So my run took me to 13 Australian States as follows: SA, NSW, SA, Qld, NSW, SA, Qld, NSW, SA, Qld , NSW, SA and finally Qld. A bakers dozen! Many thanks richary Pete# 8,001 finds

Had to visit all three states to get our names on the log. We camped up on Coopers Creek at Innamincka (caught no fish), and today we headed to Camerons Corner for a late lunch and returned back to Merty Merty for the night. The road is a bit cut off from rains and it took 2 hours 40 to do the 118km in off the Strzelecki Track. We are supported our mate who ran to Darwin via the length of New Zealand, Tasmania and through Geelong, Adelaide and Alice Springs (@curlyrunsnz). We are heading home now.. richary, I found State of Mind today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

09-May-24
Stymied by rain which made transcribing the clues a bit tricky so stuffed up the second and failed to come up with the goods before the need to beat the road conditions back to Tibooburra. Did at least tick off visiting the Corner as a life ambition.

Day 25. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.I continued the journey home, tagging on with posums for a few days. After spending the night at Innamincka we headed south through Camerons Corner and then I headed further south to get close to the border. This has been on my list for some time although I wasnt anticipating being carried of by 1000s of flies. They were insane here. We set about answering the questions and crossing state lines left and right.Time for some lunch now before I bit farewell to posums and try and make it as far south as possible. Thanks richary for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? Well my trip up to QOGM started a couple of weeks ago and after taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford and Ilfracombe, The Tritonz and Roaming Howie finally joined me and we did the puzzle trail. Then a fun first muster day to Muttaburra and back then a great tea event and a few more caches.A trip to Stonehenge and back again for them. The second muster day and boy what a busy day as there was a lot going on in the car with everything we had to do.Collect trads, look at photos, find some forks and then some property numbers as well. The Mexicans as we were called teamed up with a couple of other cars The Morris and Pool Pool to have a lot of fun over the radio.Well all the caches have been found and after another great dinner event QOGM has officially finished. This was my first QOGM and I had a great time, but all good things must come to end and today I must start heading towards home but Im also taking the very long way around back to Victoria.Roaming Howie is joining me on this section of the trip and the area is all new to him.So after the history lesson at Innamincka yesterday we are heading to Camerons Corner today.200 or more sand dunes to cross to get there so its like a roller coaster ride.Well we have arrived at the corner and after doing the corner post Virtual we are now wandering around the three states along with about 10000flies to gather the info required.I loved the Billy in the NSW part.Did some calculations and off to GZ to find a very familiar container.Roaming Howie is continuing East and Im spending the night in the pub an then heading West then South to continue down the Strzelecki track.A fav goes out to you for this one. Thanks richary TFTC.

Currently on a roadtrip with buddies (McLookers, micaparamedic and TheDame) to Mildura, MacCabe's Corner, Broken Hill, Tibooburra, Cameron Corner and Orroroo - then back to Adelaide.

We did the multi, and McLookers was good enough to work out the numbers for us. We ended up taking the longer walk out to GZ, and a quicker route back to the cars. micaparamedic had a suitable cache container replacement for you, so that has now been left and should last a while.

Thanks richary for the multi cache at this interesting location.

27-Mar-23
Found whilst on a roadtrip with McLookers, micaparamedic, GoodLook and myself.

McLookers crunched the numbers on this one and micaparamedic provided a replacement cache for you which should last a while.

Thank you for the multi cache in this very interesting location.

27-Mar-23
Our planned trip to this area with micaparamedic, GoodLook and The Dame was all based around th to two caches here. After completing the nearby virtual and grabbing some sustainance at The Corner Store, we set to gathering the information required. We crunched the numbers and headed to GZ. Thankfully we had read the note regarding maintenance and micaparamedic had a very suitable cache container on board. We replaced the container and also included a new log book. A picture of the container is attached.
Thanks for the cache richary

A name from the past. It has been some time since we have met Richary or done any of his caches. After escaping the southern winter to do a Madigan Line Simpson Desert crossing with Gray Inc we decided to head north where the nights were hopefully warmer. The desert days had been comfortable although not warm. The nights had been very cold and a real change of atmosphere was needed. We appreciated the change of scenery and wildlife north of Birdsville.

Unfortunately we needed to head home. It was great to revisit this lovely outback location and to log the cache on this visit. The cache is in satisfactory condition.

After collecting the coordinates we headed to GZ
only to be disappointed, everything had been cleaned up. Look at other trees (not too many around), look at some of the fence posts, searched the roof of the notice sheds…..nothing

This is such a stunning area to be travelling in. We were expecting it to be very different to what it is actually like but it is beautiful regardless. Thank you for keeping this cache going for so long. Great place to have placed it.

This is not a place that we thought we would ever get to. Thanks has to go to Team Crackers and Micaparamedic for letting us ta along on their journey to the Townsville Mega. We have been surprised at just how green it is out here which we have been told is not the way it always is. Thanks for placing this cache and maintaining it for so long. A favourite for both of us.

What a special cache this is by incorporating the 3 States. Had no trouble working out the coordinates or finding the cache.

Although there’s been rain out here in the west and the road in from Qld very wet in places there are solid detours in place around the boggy sections.

It was very quiet at The Corner while we were there - only visitors were us two and a lady walking across Aust (west to east) with her 5 camels.

We’re going to remember this cache for sure. Giving this a Favourite Point.

Thanks heaps for the cache richary. All is in good nick here.

Found it by chance by one of my boys while visiting and camping in area. Queensland Border closed to everyone trying to enter or leave!

Tried to find it today but the Qld border was closed due to the pandemic, and the road sign was too far away to read the numbers. Should have brought the binoculars. The fine for opening the gate was $60000.

Over 2 years ago we were last here, at that time, the cache was probably burried under a lot of sand and we could not find it, of course a couple of sdays later, it was replaced. Here we are back here again, taking the backdoor out of NSW into QLD then SA. An easy find based on my memory from last time.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.

WE have travelled a lot of kilometres between caches in in the south west corner of Queensland. And today, have travelled through three states to gain another smiley on our map. Another bucket list ticked. Great multi in time for hamburger at the corner pub. Thanks richary. the new cache container is in good condition.

Tenkae's Outback Adventure Day 20 - after damaging the strut on our car coming across the sand dunes from the Strezleki Track, we limped into Cameron's Corner to assess our situation. Deciding to head to a larger town for repairs, we skipped the lure of tri state golf and settled for a tri state cache instead. Great to see the container has been replaced, I'd brought a spare in case. Tftc

We visited Cameron Corner back in Sept'17 however we didn't realise there was a cache here until we returned home so revisiting this location was on our "To Do" list while spending a few days in Tibooburra. Well to be quite honest I actually wanted to see "the dog with the googly eyes" from the corner store and finding the cache was a good excuse to do so.

Uncharacteristically for me at least I read the recent logs before coming here so was able to acquire a new Sistema container and note pad from TJ's Roadhouse to replace the original cache which had been reported as missing/damaged. I buried most of the container in sand at the GZ not so much to make it hard to find but rather to limit the damage to the plastic container caused by the sun's UV. Maybe someone can replace it with a 100mm PVC pipe with screw lid in the future which will ensure it survives longer than these rubbish Sistema's.

Anyway, after hiding the new container and brushing the footprints from the sand approaching the cache (don't want any three-state golfers stumbling on the cache, now do we?) Mrs B and I headed over to the corner store for a beer and to attack the biggest beefburger we've ever seen - a task we attended to with gastronomic delight!

I'm going to add this one to my eclectic swag of favourites because . . . well, because it's Cameron's Corner, that's why!

Great to say that we traveled through three states to do this cache so I'll favourite this one. Interesting place to visit again and the beer was good and cold too.

Cameron Corner, the extreme point of our Road Trip. The place is magical. Meeting of 3 states. We go from one to the other while changing time. It is very disturbing.
Meeting extremely welcoming with locals. I recommend the place.
We take this opportunity to make this multi. At the final PZ, we found the box without cover and without logbook. A photo is available if necessary.

What a trip !!!! This point was the target of our road trip from Sydney. The road up to there is amazing. We are at the meeting of 3 states !
The people at Carmeron Corner are so friendly we stay for the night !
About the cache, we took all what we needed for GZ. But at GZ we found only an empty box (sorry full of sand!), it was very frustrating. We didn't have any container for a maintenance.
Anyway we really enjoyed this cache who made us hop between few states !

Found this cache on our epic adventure from Melb to Gold Coast via Cameron Corner. Love this part of the world, the country is spectacular. Arrived at Cameron Corner for lunch (great burgers) and a break at the hotel before embarking on this multi. The geo kids really enjoyed this multi, with help from me, we soon had coordinates in hand and realised we would need to go “interstate” again to make the find! Back through the gate again and over to GZ. Had to look carefully as cache had been covered by shifting sand. Dropped a TB looking to go home to Birdsville, picked up the TB here, and visited 2. Thanks for this fantastic cache.

24-Aug-18
With 6 days off we decided to go on a camping road trip. I wanted to go south, the Mrs wanted to go north. Weather either way wasn't looking good so we decided to go inland from the Fraser Coast. We looked at a few spots but they all looked boring so I turned to the geocaching app to look for some interesting places to go. Cameron Corner! Not sure if we could make it there and back in time we decided to aim for this geocache and if we don't make it by day 3, we turn back.

Knowing we couldn't travel through the night we loaded up the ute that night and hit the road in the morning stopping the first night at Cunnamulla. Up early again the next morning and managed to get to Cameron Corner by early afternoon and grabbed a beer and lunch at the hotel before embarking on the mission to find the multi cache crossing 3 states on foot.
This has to be the longest we've ever travelled for just 1 cache, over 1500km one way and the only one we collected.
Dropped off a TB for the next intrepid traveller to move along.
Fave point added for the epic trip for one cache

Catching up with late logs.

I visited here in September last year with a muggle friend and we had a bit of a look but he was getting sick of it so we went for a drink instead. I came back today with this cache in mind, and a stubby cooler from the pub.
I had lost the information so had to do it again and this time made very hard work if WP2 for some reason. That fixed I continued my walk into the third state in less than 1/2 an hour.
The GPS took me to where we were looking last time but this time I spotted it straight away and happily added our name to this great old cache in remarkable condition.
Many thanks richary for giving me a reason to come here and then to return, and as the pub had sold out of stubby coolers I will be back. Smile

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us. Wink

On this trip we are travelling from Birdsville to Broken Hill with our caravan on tow.

The track was very rocky and bumpy after having had so much Big Red Bash traffic.

Oh how tough it would have been in 1860! Surprised

Enjoyed a night at Camerons Corner then tackled this in the morning before moving on. Funnily enough we stopped at the gate, and Mrs Felix did the honours up appeared a motorbike happy that the gate was open then appeared a caravan also able to drive straight through. Lol. New job as the gate keeper! Cool

Info collected but we must have messed it up as cache was some 12metres from our coords, but easily found still. [B)]

I first saw this cache while aimlessly looking around on the geocaching map, and thought it would be cool place to visit.

When we got an invite to a wedding just down the road (actually on the gold coast....) we decided to extend the trip and pop up here for a look. (we do have a bit of a weakness for the outback)

Now to be fair, it is a funny place to see sea planes, but there were three of them parked up for the night, how cool is that.

We loved the trip and this was one of many highlights, and we may even come back one day as we are looking at doing one of the big track adventures nearby.

Cheers and thanks,

Off on a big trip with the camper trailer and doggies and managed to pick up a few caches while we were around. Well, only if I remembered to download and safe for offline use, no phone service out here!!
After wandering the three states aimlessly for a while, I decided to get down to business and crunch some numbers. My first crack at GZ suggested I needed to travel 998km West. Unlikely, try again. And again. And again.
Eureka moment, that's better. A quick wander and cache was soon in hand, now to go scrub off all the calculations and notes from my hands!

Thanks richary for this fantastic cache. Fantastic area too but very remote, I must say.

Have wanted to visit Cameron Corner for ages. The few times that I’d planned a trip have previously been thwarted by rain and closed roads.
Nervously watching the weather in the lead up to this trip, and travelling in overcast and rain all the way from Adelaide to Broken Hill, we were pleased to now be travelling under blue skies.
We had camped at Fort Grey the night before and so were at CC in the early morning, just in time for smoko.
DISK did all the calculations and I duly signed the log and then spent some time flying my drone above and around the corner post. TFTC Richary.

We did the conversions and found the cache. No TB so hope

A tri-state cache! TFTH, richary!
I was in the area doing some survey work near the borders and I couldn't resist staying at 'The Corner'.
I even took some survey observations over-night at the pillar, AND I thought I'd stumbled across your cache nearby, without doing the hard yards Wink
It turns out that that container was a (far too obviously) hidden cache for an upcoming forensic police exercise later this year.
In anycase, finding the Real cache was a pleasure. It is quite out in the open, but I suppose only golf-playing muggles would stumble across this.
Can't wait to find another from richary.
Hello to Petermcc who will be following these footsteps shortly!

Arrived at Cameron Corner wanting to pick this particular cache but being totally out of internet coverage and being slack in not downloading the cache prior to arrival thought we may have to give it a miss but overheard in the Corner Store that you could make a landline call from their personal phone for a couple of dollars so it was a quick phone call to Miss Srormcatcher to get the details and we would ring back. Miss Stormcatcher was about to board a flight from Canberra to Sydney but she had all the details ready when we called back - so in the dark we worked out the final coordinates to pick up on our way out next morning - which we did. Dropped of a TB who wants just to see Australia (no overseas travel) and picked up another. As a side note for future caches - if you want a peaceful stay don't stop here, the Corner get up to 200 people a day passing through and many stay the night - it was a crowded and noisy night - especially from a 4 WD club who rattled on loudly into the night and then started the same routine when they started packing up at 5:30am. TFTC Richard.

There was no way we were missing out on grabbing this cache. We were originally planning on taking the caravan to this spot and camping overnight but decided to camp at Fort Grey and drive out here instead. We did take the caravan through here the next day but finding the cache was so much easier with just the 4WD. Thanks for bringing us here & for the cache.

TFTC,
Special thanks to Hojar for providing maintenance.
Another trip into the Outback to find some caches by Imortals. A favorite from me and visited trackables to experience this remote part of Australia.
Left 2 trackables.
It is interesting to see Tackle Head being here. We have come across him on previous trips and met him in Coober peedy when he sprung Nana nel.
Arrived at a good time to complete the cache, introduce a Broken Hill tour operator to Geocaching and have lunch at the store before heading to Olive Grove in the Sturt NP.
We parked the truck at the Store and walked. Great way to complete this Multi.
The tree where the Amo container is located is now dead but there is satisfactory cover to protect it.
