Well at least we know why we didn't find this one! Must have gotten archived right after I ran the PQ for our trip. Glad we didn't spend any more time looking.
This is getting personal now. Finally a time when NOBODY was around, and I still couldn't find it. AARRRRRGH! I'm too stubborn to give up, so I'll see ya next time!
Looked here yesterday, but there were too many muggles to do it properly. So I returned this morning. As it was raining a little, there was no one sitting around to bother me. I got on bended knee, but I couldn't spot the cache.
Thanks anyway.
Thanks anyway.
No find for me. GPS set a new record for worst ever accuracym had a 200m jump at one stage. Despite the sat accuracy probs, I think I know just where it was...right underneath a homeless bloke sleeping in front of a couple of hunderd people queueing up for a nearby event....perhaps another time!
A.D. and i at 2230 still Muggles everywhere, unbelievable people still in restaurents?!?!?! for cryin' out loud its Monday night People!!!

Another lunchtime cache with The Wandering Wilkos.
Overshot the mark a little but once we were pointed in the right direction a simple matter of waiting out a muggle, a brief hunt and then it was mine.
Good little hide and a very nice spot to sit with your packed lunch on a sunny day

GPS not happy at GZ and it wandered around a bit. We had to wait a while before the cache was clear of a lunch time Muggle and then we located it within a minute or so.

Found it, thanks to the clue - terrible sat lock, with a few other Sydney CBD caches with abowie while waiting for planes after OzTek 07. TNLNTFTC
Found at 1045hrs on 19/03/2007 with DJOT. Awful sat lock but the clue was very helpful.

I have had a couple of failed attempts on this one. But walking to the train statin nfrom work this evening I walked straight to it and found it without even needing to turn gizmo on.
Cheers.

This one was a very happy find.1st attempt was unsuccesful, what with no gps and many possibilities. On the 2nd attempt my geo-muggle mate took a look at the exact spot and it wwas in our hands and signed and replaced without any locals spotting us.Thanks.
No GPS. Arrived after nightfall. Too dark to see without artificial light, and my secret caching-agent kit was back in the hotel room. With that and the person sitting on the GZ, I had me give this one up for another time.
Finally got this one (at about 23:00 from memory) on about my sixth attempt but only the second time that I'd had a chance to actually look for it (the first time turned out to be miles off anyway). This time the coast was clear and we soon had the cache in hand.
TNLNSL, but the Oz Geocoin took a short visit to mark a memorably notorious hide . Thanks Grank.

As in the description, this cache has had me on my knees on at least a couple of occasions in the past, and has frustrated me on at least several others when I have walked past only to find people sitting or sleeping in the GZ area and preventing any chance of a search. So EuDes and I approached GZ with some apprehension, but as we turned the corner GZ was clear! EuDes proceeded to get his knees dirty while I wandered hoping for better satellite connection. As he handed me the torch, I bent forward and shone the torch and there was the cache right in front of my eyes - didn't even get the knees dirty this time!
Great to get this one off the list.
TNLN
thanks Grank - good hide!

This was supposed to be our second find for the day but a tourist and his substantial luggage we camped right on top of GZ.
The kid and I went of to nab Think Tank before returning to find the area miraculously clear of muggles. We wasted no time in retrieving the cache.

We think we found it, but without getting closer than about 20 metres we can't be sure. There was all but no satellite reception so we just had a look around based on the previous logs and a very rough position gained when we did have reception. The Prez spotted it, he's sure of it, however, there is a homeless man camped on it. We had three attempts at different times of the three days we were in town. The guy didn't move, except to roll over! He was always there, just sleeping. Next time perhaps.
After we got off the train and walked down and Skyejam found the cache at 2pm with Sevabo and Everlasting. It was good place - phew not much muggles around at this time. SL Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.

GPS was going wild, but I had it narrowed to the right area - unfortunately it was 10:30 at night and there was a scruffy looking muggle sleeping on it. Thought I'd leave this one alone for now.
number 7 for today, but the first one done during a heavy downpour. After locating the likely spot for GZ, we left to come back after the muggles had left. The rain helped us to make a stealthy retrieval !

Found this cache without much help from GPS - it was going crazy. Lucky guess got us to the correct location.
Found 08:00ish. 4th of 8 FFTD. A pre-conference run around the CBD of the cache's I couldn't get yesterday (Even though I tried!). Visited this cache GZ three times before being successful today, and even then it took two visits this morning. On each visit every single possible hidey hole had someone sitting on or very near it, fortuneately it was free for a short period today. TFTC.

I laughed as I rounded the final corner to this cache. Bodies were strewn everywhere. I'll upload a photo to show what I was up against. No chance today, will try again next time, probably early in the morning.
Thanks!
(I've already logged a "didn't find it", and today I didn't even think of doing a search, so I'll leave it as a note)

Nice hide. Had to wait for a homeless muggle to move on at around 6am before attacking this one.

Finally found it. After several, albeit hurried, attempts we finally nabbed this one. On previous visits the poor reception had the GPSr pointing to an area that matches the clue. This time we expanded the search area and low and behold I could see the cache from 30mtrs away. Sigma provided cover from muggles and I grabbed the cache, did the stuff and returned it.
Thanks for a well placed and challenging city cache.
GammaPiSigma.

Found this one after outlasting the two chatting women on the bench. Very clever, enjoyed this one. SL Thanks
Tried for this one twice when passing through today, no luck with a chance to have a decent search with too many mmuggles around on both occasions.
"Chapter & Verse" was #2 on the target list as D_Mawson and I tried to find 10 caches in under 4 hours, only using public transport and our feet. Found at 13:54 when, by a concentrating our psychic energy, we forced a solitary muggle to move on. This cache has the simple sophistication that one has come to expect from the creator of such urban marvels as the late "William Park" and the "Unknown Cache". Thanks, Grank.
We've had a few, unsuccessful, cracks at this before - rotten reception and too many muggles - but we weren't going to be defeated.
Had a quick look in the am on the way through to Darling Harbour and had a flash of logic that gave us the find on the way back home when the regular Sunday crowd had gone.
Funny but. The logic was wrong. It was just a fluke that it led us to the right place.
A top hide. Very satisfying when we finally found it. Thanks bigtime for the fun of the hunt and the delight of the find.

Found it with Cherryred, nice and quiet area after 6pm, not very subtle though in the rain
Finally, some sweet reward for SkAttA BrAiNs and I! Not too many muggles around at 7pm and those within eyesight paid no attention to us. Signed and left kangaroo souvenir pin.
I have known for months where to look, but each time I came to nail the cache, some muggle was right on top of it. Well today was my day. Finally! TFTC
saw it when i walked passed it allredy but i had to wait till the mugglers had finished eating theyer lunch.

Found it! had to go shop at nearby Paddy Palins while some derelicts were on the cache... We had spotted it from a distance after reading the hint.
Hey hey!
Found this one bright and early this mornining! caught the train in, prepared to do some serious caching! We found this one first! Nice cache and hiding spot!

Was in the area tonight and found that GZ was nearly deserted. Offered a few prayers of thanks and there was the cache! TFTC
Woo Hoo! Found it first time. I thought I was at the correct pew, and as soon as I sat down, a woman having a late lunch sat next to me. Hmmmm.
I wondered off to get the train home and then noticed something about one of the pews. Tried the old 'tying up the shoelaces trick' and BINGO.
A great sneaky cache in the city, next to a beautifully crafted church. Very photogenic, but I forgot the camera. Thanks for the cache.

A clever hide but I was getting the hang of these Sydney hides now and located quickly in the absence of muggles. thanks Granks
Finally picked up this one that I started a long time ago.

We were in the area for another try today. Being Sunday morning, we thought it would be a bad time but it turned out to be better than yesterday...very few people around. Since our GPS did not help, we just checked everything. Almost ready to give up, I spotted it! We were on the wrong pew yesterday.
23/9 Our GPS hated this place. We searched in the obvious places but came up with nada! Of course there were lots o muggles today and even security people to contend with.

Dear Grank,
We found your cache today at 6:45pm as the final of thirteen on the third day of our Sydney Trip. We tried to outwait a guy who was sitting on top of the cache. We gave up and resigned ourself to yet another DNF for the day. Luckily we passed right by on our way back to the train. He was gone and it was right where we thought it should be and our Find/DNF ratio was tilted back a bit more in our favour. Thanks for the cache.
Kind Regards,
D & H B-A

3 of 3 for today. Came here first at lunchtime but far too busy. Returned and grabbed a muggle-free window of opportunity. GPSr said 24m away but I decided to channel my "evil cacher twin": dropped some papers, bent over and halelulah, there it was looking me straight in the eye! Thanks Grank.
Found with the help of BigMickB. Sad thing is, that i work 40m from this cache and had attemptted it a few times but been turned away by the local residents.
Nicely done, cheers

Reference my discussion of the Sydney Geocache Troll (see Campbell's Cove cache). Went twice on two different days to the indicated location on the wacky GPS. Both times appearred to have long term sitters in the area around the cache! I just couldn't wait them out, as my legs were tired and my belly was empty. I practiced searched in similar locations nearby to get and idea what I was in for. This further reinforced my belief that I needed the tired people to move on! Will try again on another trip!
And what is with the punk rock, wierd, apparently Oriental young people acting really wierd crowd at the Town Hall? The stairs are lousy with them and all the trash they can muster.

I think this was my third trip to the cache area, but since I approached from a differnt direction, I came to a different spot which also matched the hint. And with a quick look I spotted it. Nice hide. 3rd of 5 micros today. Thanks.
I go past this on the train everyday so I thought that I would get off and give it a go. Nice tricky spot. TFTC
Ahhh 3rd time's the charm. I was right on it the previous visits - just over thought it.
Very very cool cache and can be done in broad daylight. Patience is the key - oh and some convenient props to drop eg a pen or keys.
I had to get it - this cache rests approximately 150m from where I work everyday -you've no idea how much it grated on me to not find it. My burden is lifted. my prayers were answered.
Nice one Grank. Thanks for the chase

At last, another of my nemisis caches falls! Thanks to Mandaj for the tip off. Ashamed to admit I'm walked away from this cache more than once empty handed, but not tonight. Thanks Grank for a top cache!
GPS signal was a shocker around here tonight, had me jumping from one end of the block to the other in an instant. Reckon I've an idea where it is, but too many muggles sitting near it so couldn't pursue... Will be back. There's a great kebab shop just west of here on Bathurst Street.
Poor coverage had me guessing on this one. I'll try it again next time I am in the Big Smoke.
Cheers.

First cache found in Australia! After a long flight from Austin, Texas, to Sydney, Australia, we decided to hit the streets to Geocache and explore the region instead of sleeping in our hotel beds like normal people. As we were on our way to the cache, we stopped by the church and caught the tail end of the service and were able to tour the painted organ. We found the cache easily enough though the reception was horrible and it took awhile for the GPSr to realize that it was in the Soutern and Eastern Hemispheres. TNLN.
aah my son,you have come here to confess your sins.no father where the hell is the cache, and i'll be on my way.
great spot, and lucky for me rain today ,not to many muggles

Went back prepared to get dirty, and found cache almost straightaway in (what I'm beginning to discover is) the obvious place. GPS was accurate within about ten metres. Clue helps. Nice hiding spot, and thanks for another great cache Grank!
P.s. For anyone who's puzzled, I hope it's not giving away too much to say that, during daylight hours, you can probably SEE the cache while walking up to it.

Couldn't find this one. Tried on several occasions but there always seemed to be muggles around and/or it was raining and/or getting dark and cold. Must be a neat hiding place as we are sure we found the right bench.
Had a look, but no dice. Was a rainy day with a couple of muggles around. Maybe it's attached to the underside of one of the seats? Will go back prepared to get a little dirty looking for it...
Had a look around some sneaky but likely places, and was very confident - but no find!
Found the cache with ease although we needed to wait for a window of oppurtunity in which there were no muggles in sight. TFTC
Found by Kiwi on holiday. Muggles arrived just as we thought we had sussed a likely place. They settled down to smoke so left them to it. Had better luck when returned a couple of hours later.
A rainy night and no muggles still didn't allow me to find this cache.
I knew where it had to be but probably missed it.
Will try in the daylight, will be easier to see but harder to get.

Will try in the daylight, will be easier to see but harder to get.
Tried this one twice today. Apparently, Good Friday is NOT the best day to try to get some quiet time at a church!! One might almost think that Easter is a religious holiday! First attempt was early in the afternoon, just before a service was about to start. Came back after dark, and had about 30 seconds of privacy in which to get my hands very dirty before the church emptied out and I was surrounded. Had to let this one go, but will try again next time.
Before worshippers had arrived for their services I searched all the likely spots, but drew a blank. Knowing Grank had checked it a week before, I knew it was here, but couldn't find it. Dammit, I thought it must be here, and looked again, and there it was! Exactly the same place I had looked not 30 seconds before.
Dry as! Not even a hint of dampness on this one.
Updated logbook and left an additional sharp pencil.
Updated logbook and left an additional sharp pencil.
Staying at the Hilton for a conference, and checked it out when I arrived in the evening. Located the likely spot but too many rough sleepers around. Popped out during lunch next day but the passing parade made a proper search impossible. Tried again in the evening, but a thorough search failed to locate it. Oh dear, the evening didnt get much better, as this was followed by two more DNF's. Looks like I really needed the better half of Miray, who has an eye for these micros
Been here 3 times. The last one was the only one where I felt able to check, as there were less muggles about. As I grated my knees on the stones, and was assailed by a waft of stale urine, I decided that I really wasn't enjoying this, so flagged it.
The people you see on a cache check! Justbumped into Queen Elizabeth's entourage. She was within 20 meters of the GZ ... skipped the cache check as too many men in blue around.
I will be interested to see if the security people left the cache where it was ...

Our first attempt at a Sydney cache so were pleased to find it. Thanks Grank.
well this was my 3rd go at this cache
the first time i had bugger all reception and therefore it made it near impossible to get a propper location.
the 2nd time, (about 6:30 this morning) i had not the bed, but pretty good reception snd i had a firm lock, however where the gps pointed me was slightly out, however i worked out where i thought it would be but there was a lovley local who had decided that GZ was a great spot to go to sleap. so no luck there
finally got back there after i finished the job around the corner at about 1045.. there were a few muggles around but none of them worried me... pretended to drop my mobile and hey presto there was the cache )
signed the log and was on my way in no time.
i was also aided by the nearby construction works which have closed the nearby cafe which means heaps less muggles

Today wasn't a good day to try finding this cache. Arrived around midday to find what looked like a Reverend graduation ceremony that had just finished, so we went off to find some other caches. Came back a few hours later to find a wedding party and guests, so we went for a wander again, came back once more to find someone still set up at GZ.
Will be back to try this one
Will be back to try this one
Patiences has its rewards! and boy did we need Patiences! we first identified GZ at about 2pm but there were 2 ppl sitting chatting and a 3rd having a nap. realising they could be sometime we went and had some lunch. Came back 30 or so minutes later and the conversing couple were gone but the napping man was now reading. we took the conversing couples seat and waited.......... and waited and waited. Finally over an hour later he left, which seemed to be the signal for many of the other people sitting around as they also got up and left. moving quickly we searched high and low before finally retriving the cache at 3:55pm. i think thats the longest we've ever spent waiting for a cache! and our 80th one at that!
Not logging a DNF as I couldn't get to GZ without upsetting a "Resident". Maybe later.
We were transiting in Sydney on the way from NZ to Finland and had about 10 hours time so we visited downtown to see some sights - and find couple of caches while at it.
As I'm not a particular fan of hyperurban micros, I had already decided not to search this one. An hour or two earlier I had a satellite lock on my GPSr in this area, but as the satellite coverage was so poor and the area is swarming with geomuggles, I didn't even feel giving it a shot. However, when we were heading back to the airport, we happened to be close to the Town Hall stop of the Airport Link. We were in no hurry so I grabbed my GPSr again and decided to see where it points.
Near the exact site I lost the satellite lock again, but I gave a quick search around. Surprisingly enough I found it in the second place I looked, the nearest muggles being fairly far enough not paying attention to me. TNLN.

Another muggle magnet. Haven't these muggles got anything better to do than sit around caches all day!
Again, I'm pretty sure where it is - just need to come at a better time.

It was right where I has suspected the first time I came to look. Unfortunately people were pretty much sitting on it at the time. Easy retrieval with no onlookers this morning though.
Thanks Grank.

Found at 2:15pm on my 3rd try. The first 2 tries, GZ was occupied. While I was signing, a muggle sat right next to me, leaving me stuck with the cache! Had to wait for them to finish before I could place it back in position. Another fun Grank cache.
Went back for a second try. Daylight made the world of difference, and so did re-reading the logs. Nice neat one in a clever spot.
Found this one on my way to work. Well hidden once again. Took a bit to get the cache so I placed it back a little easier for the next cacher (easier to retreive, not find!) thanks again Grank.
Didn't find this one, but we have a good hunch where it is. Lots of people around today. We'll try again soon.
Tried for this one last night, but with some protest happening nearby, there were way to many muggles about! Tried at 7.00am this morning, and there wasn’t a soul about! Given that, it was an easy find. TNLN – thanks again Grank.
Had a quick look without any luck. Was a guy sitting opposite who seemed a bit too interested in what I was doing so I didn't persevere.

Was getting late and had waste much time at TXT ME so was not really interested in searching long and hard for this. Looked under some pews but wrong ones. Stomach growled and off I went to find dinner. Another day.
This one drove us crazy!! We even tried going out at night with a flashlight to see into the smaller places... no luck!
We think there is more to this cache than meets the eye and it is showing an interesting side to Grank. Why does he want you on your knees? That’s very suspicious especially after what we found at his last cache.
Like our previous cache today we were just hanging around waiting for the gps to lock in, I thought I would go for a bit of a stroll to see what I could see. When I got back to Oompa Bec she had already found it.
Great little spot.
Thanks Grank
