Back in the area again, and I had grabbed an alternative set of coordinates after reading the entire cache page and not just the last few logs last night. Was able to quickly locate the cache and sign the log this time around, making up for our disappointment yesterday. It is certainly a place that is worth a visit. Thanks for the cache Rescue-201
Rated: for Overall Experience
A quick search failed to reveal anything in the vicinity of GZ, and a quick check via Geocaching Live on the mobile revealed the cache's problems, so it was back to the urban assault vehicle and home for dinner.

With incorrect coords and a not-so-useful hint, this took some digging to finally unearth.
We didn't really enjoy having to go onto the monument itself to find a cache and finally be presented with a damaged container, a damp logbook and some rusty swaps. Some cache maintenance (and a possible relocation) might be a good idea.

Found on our last day at OzMega, not having to be in Albury till 4pm to pick up son no.1 at the station before heading to Mt Beauty for the rest of the week.
So why not take the opportunity to grab a few extra and maybe crack the 600 mark.
Nice quick find thanks to previous logs, TFTC, SL

Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 10:45am on our trip to Wagga for the OZ Mega Event (Fantastic!!) What a tragedy! The cache was easily found after the walk in to GZ. TFTC
Found with Varuna, Everlasting, Alchemy2.. Notice its quite not right GZ but keep looking and find it. TFTC
Accompanied with Alchemy2, crank1, and Everlasting, a nice find cache and its well alive. Thanks for hunting and the cache.
Found easily enough, although the the Gz was some 22m away. Found during the OZ MEGA event. TFTH...SL....TNLN
Found the cache - no problem. Excellent hide spot. With varuna, alchemy and crank1. SL. Thanks Rescue-201
Found although either gps was confused or the co ords are a bit dodgy, maybe it was just the cacher.
found it with help from hint.
Lovely view here.
thanks for the cache and hunting.

After some advice from some cachers we met earlier, we attempted the cache and found it. Interesting spot of history. Cheers Gav [5306]
Found whilst playing the Mega event games. Found easy as the log was laying on the ground. Returned it to were I thought it should be.

My GSAK notes were already a week old by now and the cache was listed as active so we went for it. When finally found the co-ords were way out, so we have submitted our version here for future cachers. S35 03.759 E147 21.707. Cache was still in good condition. Thanks to Rescue-201 for the cache.
Didn't know this was disabled when we went to look for it but there didn't seem anywhere around the coords to hide a cache. The hint talks about something that is not there - maybe it would be better to talk about something that is!
No trouble here either except that GZ was a fair way off. Did record some co-ords which I'll add if I can dig them out of the GPS.
Done that and found that there doesn't seem to be that much discrepancy. Nevertheless co-ords added!
Thanks indeed

Walked in, and were about to give up on this one, when Bruce spotted it some distance from the published co-ords. TNLN. Thanks.
Had downloaded this one ages ago so didn't note the status, but the cache is there and in good shape.
Found during the kiwi raid of the Wagga Caches, the cache was there when we visited T4TC.
Found it No. 2396 ... NEEDS NEW CO ORD METERS OUT ... no problem getting in ... TN and left Chinese Coins
Due to vandalism at the site the road access has been locked I will try to find out if access can can still be gained to the site

CACHE STILL NEEDS MAINTENANCE!! As already stated, the jar is not water tight and the log is quite damp even though it's in a bag (the bag has holes). I had to empty out the water in the jar before i could very carefully sign the log.
After an unsuccessful hunt i went back and checked the logs. Found using the coordinates supplied by TeamHurtle. I've been talking about visiting the memorial for a few years now so thanks for giving me some added incentive!

This cache could be so much more, but with coordinates that are so far off we spent an inordinate amount of time looking in trees and scratching around, after a while we checked the cache description for more of a clue but that gave us nothing, luckily a kind previous finder had given us so coordinates, so after much digging and scratching around a memorial we finally found the cache.
Rescue-201, perhaps it's time to update the coordinates, especially with 500+ people heading towards the city in a few months, imagine the damage they will do!

89/103 Found with The Rats, and Steeba, Big Mat and FarmerFretnzen during our Wagga trip.
Found during a run down to Wagga Wagga with The Rats, Big Matt and Shell, Steeba and Gribbly. Wagga Wagga has treated us to some magnificent hides, the likes of those by Fred6603, and then there are ones like this one. Thanks for the find.
Found this eventually, using the hint, which is no longer accurate in it's entirity. ie there is no moss rocks.
Found it at the co-ords I've listed, 18m from gz!!!! Whilst I didn't read all the previous logs, I can't believe that none of the more recent finders even commented on how far away it is! This cache needs urgent maintenance, replacing the GLASS jar with a more suitable container would be a start. The cache is not watertight either, and wet inside.
Otyherwise, thanks for taking me to the spot.

It is wonderful to show respect to those who have passed such as these. However to have the area in the state that it is in now I feel is disapointing. Pity that the weeds have taken over a lovely tribute.

This was one of many caches we hoped to attend this weekend on a caching trip to Wagga before the Oz Mega Event GC1YJ5R in April next year.
If it were not for caching we would not have had a reason to visit your beautiful town. We are looking forward to returning next year to nab fewer caches allowing us time too look around and enjoy the area more.
Hope to see you all there

As mentioned in my log, cache contents were in a particularly poor state. The log-book was very damp and damaged. We left a temp log-sheet, but this cache needs some attention asap.

Found it on a cool winter night. Just as well the young bloke brought the torch. Notepad was a bit soggy.
Found at 13:20 with frogdude and frogbabe - my ninth new find on our Wagga Wagga trip.
Had great hopes for this one as it was a great area and subject for a cache. However, the cache container was just sitting half exposed a few metres from where it was meant to be, and the container and contents are in bad condition. It just seems unloved - basically it needs replacement or a good freshening up.
I like the area though - thanks for bringing me here, Rescue-201.

Resorting to the clue, we couldn't make head or tail of the "missing feature" mentioned. Hunting around the perimeter was leading to 3 over-enthusiastic kids removing all the pebbles a foot-load at a time, so unless we wanted to wreck the memorial in our pursuit of the cache, we had to hold them back. Checked a few likely areas nearby, but came up empty.
Didn't jump the fence to check the nearby foundations, which were another likely spot, but we figured that it probably would have been on the "friendly" side of the fence anyway.
Nice spot though, and a good bit of history too.

Well, well, well......
After meeting up with Steeba at the last cache, we decided to tackle this one together, after my DNF yesterday.
Steeba made a quick find while I stood there wondering how I missed it........cache blindness or what!!!!!!
Thanks Steeba, glad I could cross this one off.

Alan and I had a good look around but were unable to find anything resembling a cache.
A worthwhile memorial at gz. With the original coordinates apparently being a little bit off, plus the latest finders apparently placing the cache somewhere else, but not leaving any coordinates, this one was always going to be difficult! After a reasonable search we were none the wiser so moved on.
The co-ords had us in a spot where there plenty of possible hiding places, but as Rob mentioned the cache was sitting out in the open. Noting looked like it was missing, so we hid it as best we could.

Great memorial and history, thanks for showing us this spot. However we stuggled with the coordinates a bit and when we found an object sitting out in the open we were surprised to find it was the cache! We did our best to rehide it but it was difficult given the location.

Took a while to get a set on this little bugger - satellites were mucking us around a bit. Finally found GZ but no cache - a further search of the area found the cache down the hill in the grass. We replaced the cache as well as we could as the clue mentioned.

A very appropriate visit to this site as AstroDadJohn here visiting AstroThomas who works at the RAAF Base. Any other RAFFy cachers who have not been here had better get their buts out here and check it out. Most would not have a clue about all of this – but that’s what caching is all about.
Clear skies for the RAAF from TeamAstro and especially AstroThomas – TeamAstro. Perfect for the team’s 1800th find [^]
B-Team find in the fading light. Certain level of professional interest with this site that may otherwise have gone unnoticed without the GC challenge. I also managed to attract the attention of a roving university security guard, who was intrigued with the capabilities of the Garmin Foretrex (weapon of choice for the B-Team). He provided no assistance and left me to my struggles. Eventually struck pay dirt and left site as found. TNLN Good Luck!

Saw a huge Grey Kangaroo too and some local birdlife. We found the prize after checking comments from previous logs. If you're still looking pls note that the posted co-ords are too far south by about 15m. The "mossy rock" is no longer there but the "3 mtrs" reference is accurate enough.
