A pre-Christmas day out attempting to tick off Port Underwood road. This would have been find number 16. Alas, even after first taking the wrong road, returning, engaging all the drive features, i made it to the locked gate. Then, up to the transmitter, worked out the final and went off. Unfortunately, even after 20 minutes searching, I couldn't find it. I fear it has fallen deeper or down the bank. And, I didn't have a replacement with me.Another time.

What a great spot for a cache! Definitely wouldn’t have known about this place without this cache here. Was worried when we left Picton in fog that we wouldn’t get a view but we were above the clouds when we got to GZ. I’m not sure how many people have driven to the gate in a 2WD but I was glad to be in a 4x4! Great track along the ridge from the posted coords to the final. Cache is now a micro but the hint object is fairly obvious. Decent views today. It a clear day would be glorious. Took us just under an hour return including lots of photos. Favourite point from me.

Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions. On the home leg now back to Dunners!
Thanks for the cache, BuzzTasman

Wow. What a drive, what a climb, what a walk and what a view. Tricky hide but Wilbywarrior found it! Great fun. Shame not more cachers come here.

*** Out on our MEGA Roadtrip with Wilbywarrior. Who says this can only happen when the MEGA is actually held?! Greetings from Dunedin, caching friends Smile

Yet another beautiful autumn Marlborough day on my last day off this week, and after a successful Wednesday of caching and riding around Port Underwood Road on my motorbike, I decided to come back and clean up any remaining caches along the road.
The last rainfall was on Tuesday, so the tracks are certainly drying out nicely, meaning I managed to avoid most of the mud today. It also meant a couple of the steeper dirt side-tracks which were very slippery on Wednesday, are now able to be ridden up to get to a couple of extra caches. Like last time, I've bought a couple of trackables along for the ride, an NZ travel tag orange track marker and a laminated hidden creature, keen to see the local landscape.

WOWEE!!! A favourite point for sure, I'd even give a few more if you could choose more than one. I love a cache with a view, and this one delivers bigtime.
I had set off up the start of this track with no intention of walking, and I hadn't planned on finding this one so I hadn't read the full info before venturing up to the gate. I was hoping the gate would be open, or avoidable, and that I could get the bike right up to the communication tower, but the gate was very stoic. So the bike was parked, and motorcycle gear hidden in nearby trees so I didn't need to carry it, and off I set for the 550m walk to the tower.
I can see this tower from 18km away at my family home in Anakiwa, so it's impressive to finally stand at it's base. Final solved, and after I found where the trail started, it was an easy walk along the ridge to the lookout. And boy what a treat! Perfect clear views from Waikawa to Tory.
Many photos later, I almost forgot to find the cache. It was starting to sink lower into the rotting tree, so I replaced it threaded thru a stick to prevent it from falling too far in.
Last cache of the day, so back to Blenheim via Waikaway. Thanks a lot for this cache!!!

A great adventure thanks, found the bison tube, with muggle friends. Tower was in mist, but it cleared at the lookout to enable us to see down. Wonderful spot!

03-Jan-20
Needing just a few caches today and not looking for a full-day trip to anywhere too far, I decided to come out and explore this area and check on the three caches here.
After all, it seems they have been a bit lonely lately - 2 years plus between visitors.
So I loaded the bike and parked at the top of the hill overlooking Port Underwood.
Once on the track I was confronted with a locked gate and ‘no entry’ notices. But that was fine, it took me a minute to realise that is not the way I want to head anyway, it is this side road here.
I pushed/rode the bike right up to the tower, got the numbers and made my way to the lookout point. I did not pick up the track immediately - it starts above the rock for future visitors - but got it soon enough and it was a nice walk to the view.
And what a view it is. Unfortunately the sky was a little hazy today from smoke from the Aussie bush fires, and there was a little bit of cloud still to burn off at this time of the morning, but still it was stunning.
Unfortunately the cache could not be found, and I spent 30 minutes searching all spots for it (including the ground), so the CO has been contacted and I have placed a replacement here in a small vertical hollow in the tree at about chest/head height. This is a bison, so not the ideal container but it is all I had on me and it has RITR paper.
And with the bike it was now a quick downhill back to the main road.
A wonderful walk and experience all round, TFTC BuzzTasman, a favourite for me.

A quick check of the map when we left our last find, before we headed back to the main road, revealed this remote multi. Headed on up the road to the gate - it was open, but we've been caught out before, so we didn't go through it. Parked up and then made the walk up the hill to the specified co-ords. There was a team of workers at the item working on an upgrade so we had a talk to them, got to see what goes on inside one of these buildings, grabbed required information and headed on our way. Once at final, we enjoyed the view, dried the cache and log as best we could, signed and replaced. Time to head back to vehicle and get moving. tftc

02-Jul-16
Spent the night in Picton, ready for an early morning start, out FTFing with TaybeeDragon. We drove down to the end of the Tumbledown Road, Soaked up all those empty logbooks, then headed back up here. I am a bit nervous about driving these roads - they can get nasty with no place to turn around, and backing a long way over deep ruts and the like is not my cup opf tea. However the road was quote driveable up to the parking spot for the cache Pole Position, and after that... well, maybe I could, but probably not. I back down from one big rut just 50m to leave the car at a very small pullover - it took a five-point turn to turn around. From there is was 1.1km straightline to the multi. Walked upo and found an even bigger rut. Nope, definately cannot drive to the cache parking point now! Okay, its a doddle in a 4-wheel drive, but that's not what I got.
So we walked on to the cache, solved for the final and carried on. Awesome little bush walk, and an utterly fantastic view. I took a panarama shot and then had to take another as a ferry came into view. Will upload shortly. Fantastic cache, gets a favoutre. Would have got a pathtag and some emeralds, but alas I completely forgot to drop them in!
Was originally going to take this road as a route to Tumbledown Road. Forst, it is gated off further along, and secondly, not in my 2-wheel drive town car!

02-Jul-16
The Seagnoid has spied a couple of new caches out Port Underwood - yeh Im in! He camps over for the night to get an early start. After scratching the ice of the windows, we are out of here, even before the birds are up and travel to the trig in the dark. Oh well - will catch the scenery on the way home.
Got the 3 FTFs, and that keeps the Seagnoid a happy chappie, so lets get some of the others around here. The idea was to that upper route back but the road was gated off at the entrance past the trig so its back along the main road. Nearly get to the parking spot but the road gets worse and The Seagnoids car starts to object and I would rather walk to the cache and still have wheels to get home. The Seagnoid backs down the road a ways and slowly turns at a little clearing and parks up. Yep we are heading to the bifg tower on the hill. Get the new cords for the multi - double check as they put us 500m away - yep they appear right. So its a scramble up the rock then the path through the beech forest was fantastic - giving me so much inspiration for my next artistic mission. The scramble to the lookout and the cache location was a bit challenging but well worth it. The panoramic views from Picton to down the sounds and part of Tory Channel was amazing. What a truly magic place to visit. This is my kind of caching. Cheers

16-May-16
This is one cache that I have had my eye on for many years and never quite had the opportunity to go for it. Finally made it this afternoon - during a spell between outbreaks of rain I was able to drive up and park by the gate, walk to the cache, and get back to the vehicle before the rain started again. A really lovely walk through the forest and one of the most outstanding views I have encountered for a long time! No problems with the questions, the answer made sense, and the cache was a surprisingly quick find with good accurate coordinates. All good and dry inside. Signed log, thanks for a really enjoyable cache and of course it just *has* to get a favourite point!

30-Mar-16
After doing the Towards the Top cache it was on up the trail with the cachemobile to the gate. Then it was on Shanks' Pony to the Microwave transmitter tower to locate the right numbers to work out the final coords.

I loved walking through the bush towards the final. When I finally got to the GZ I started to search the nearby trees first but then decided I HAD to go across the lookout to the other side. All the way I had my heart in my mouth as I do have height problems.

This truly tested my limits and if I could award two favourite points (one for the cache and one for testing my limits) I would but alas no can do. So here is one anyway.

Cheers for the cache.

Pure magic! I've wanted to do this cache it seems like forever but I really couldn't have picked a better day than today. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the bush - it seemed completely unmarked until right at the end. Sat at GZ for ages soaking in all the peace and beauty and watching a ferry go past. I'm amazed the cache has stayed so safe and sound for so long in such a relatively exposed place. The last person to write a log was Rutherford 614 from Outward Bound who found it "by accident". Cheers to them for putting it back. I've said it before but its worth repeating that I love BuzzTasman caches - they always take you to some quite special and memorable place and this is no exception. Another cache off my bucket list - a thousand thank yous BuzzTasman. TFTC #8193

Wow, what a cache

31-Jan-16
With a spare morning to consume and a new cache logo on the Queen Charlotte road challenging my 'got them all' claim it was decided a trip to this side of Marlborough would be on todays agenda, along with a trip to the much acclaimed "Sounds Forever" multi-cache.
Headed here after F T F success at the new LB hybrid on Q C road. I've eyed up the view from the road end quite a few times but never been 'brave' enough to enter. Today though was get some caches day so in we went in the reliable Terrano-saurus. There was a camper van at the road end and they walked in and along but our car coped well enough with the couple of pot-holes and a few shallow puddles. This was the main cache on the list for today and having now completed can see why people rave about their experience, and why it's garnered a healthy amount of F Ps, another from me.
Parked at the lower gate and headed up the path past the gate. Startled a healthy sized goat and Tally resisted the chase. Carried on and got the numbers required, before trying to work out the 'in-point' Decided to bush bash in at the corner and after a wetting from the damp forest we soon found the path along the ridge-line, which terminated/started at the big rock formation 9as we discovered at the end)
Along to g z being mindful of the dog's enthusiasm and another goat spotted by nightowl19, but luckily not the dog. At G Z re read the hint a few times and tried a couple of options before going where the G P S indicated and made the find.
The views from G C are absolutely phenomenal and so glad it was a clear day, will post photos later on.
Took some pics and carefully made our way back to the path and down the hill to the car to meet an appointment in town, on time
T F T M and C BuzzTasman, what a great experience, thanks for bringing us here.

I've walked from Curious Cove to the top of Mt Kahikatea a number of times and today seemed like a good day to knock over a cache with beaut D/T ratings. I was speaking at Kid's camps down below this week, so I accompanied the 60 of them up the hill.

It didn't take long to find the cache, and the views today were absolutely superb. It was as good a trip to the top as I've ever made, and the cache find really topped it off. Thanks for putting a cache in such a stunning location. Favourite point from me.

09-Jan-16
Awesome morning for photos and time lapse of sunrise with my daughter.

02-Jan-16
I've had the intentions of finding this for ages, but never really got a chance as I'm usually towing a boat over this hill to go diving or fishing, so it isn't convenient to stop. Today however I had a few spare hours, and as the rain was easing off decided to have a look for this, and some more recent caches in the area. I never knew this vehicle track went so far - can continues on down into the bay by the look of the Topo map. Parked at the gate as advised and met a goup of trampers who were returning from the lookout, and advised that there was no view. They were soaked and seemed surprised I was going to continue on anyway.
Definitely an all time favorite cache, even without the view. A bit damp and cloudy today. Cache was found quickly thanks to the hint, multi solved no trouble. T F T C

You would get a 4wd up here no trouble at the moment, and would get most cars here as well if driven carefully over the ruts and you don't mind the occasional scratch or scrape on the bottom.

Wicked spot to cook dinner, great view and good comrades and crew.

It seems we have been wanting to do this forever - and in the end it was only half the team but she is determined to have a team revisit.
Mrs Sobad was planning the caching day - and the driver had a 4WD. Hmmm....... A 4WD was probably not needed but Mrs Sobad's wee car would have struggled with the access road.
No problem to get to the gate and then the waypoint following the clear directions - autorouting was another matter as it had decided there was a road about 2 km earlier that simply did not exist.
The entrance to the track was spotted by the driver - and the first few metres were the hardest. then a lovely walk through the bush to the 'summit'. We did not get to GZ the easiest way - but following the GPS had Mrs Sobad in the right place to see the cache from about 10m away.
Having read the logs, we knew the log was wet so had a spare with us in case. It was saturated so we removed it and replaced it with a piece of waterproof paper and triple bagged it.

We both have great memories of other Buzz Tasman caches -and of a fun day in the Sounds the CO organised. This is well up there with our other favourites - some now sadly archived like the fantastic Passage to the Light and but others still available like Cullens Gold and Nikau Nirvana.

We have found our share of 'about the numbers' caches and set our share. But was great to do one of the old fashioned caches set to share a wonderful spot with others.

Thanks so much for the walk, the cache, the view and the memories.

I've never really thought about which of my finds would be my absolute all-time favourite, but I know this one would be right up there in the running! The scenic drive in from the road, the trek to WP1 and then the walk along the ridge-line to the cache. I even liked the number you drew our attention to Wink . . and the puzzle. What amazing views from GZ! The terrain near GZ was a little outside my comfort zone . . maybe we didn't choose the easiest route . . but the views from GZ made it absolutely worth it. Thanks so much for placing this cache. Smile (No need for that pesky needs maintenance symbol any more).

Awesome spot. Got there just on sunset. One of those days where there is zero wind too. Absolutely stunning:) logs a bit wet but managed to add our names to a fresh piece of paper. Dropped off TB good spot for it! Thanks

My poor little car isn't designed for roads like that but she made it.Beautiful walk for amazing views. Log soaking wet but managed to scratch my name into a page that would separate from the others. I would never have come here if it wasn't for caching thank you Cool

Found this cache totally by chance on my second trip up the mountain from kiwi ranch camp in two days. I was there with a school group . The cache was open and out in the open with contents spilled out there is no lid on cache as I did not know where cache was originally hidden I have moved it to a slightly safer place it will need to be looked at very soon and have log book replaced as is very wet . I was unable to sign please contact me as to where I have put it. I also spoke to tony at kiwi ranch as I thought it may have been his. Amazing views from up there well worth the trip if you are close

I put a new log in a new plastic ziplock bag in the geocache. You still need to bring your own pen because the old one in there isn't working.

It was fun to revisit this place. Although I was disapointed to see that the poeple from kiwiranch interfered with nature by putting up signs and trailmarkers in the bush.

Great spot bit of a walk from lower carpaek but great view!! Book is very wet so couldent write in it! Picked up discoverer trackable actually on 27th just forgot to log!!

Have visited this site many times climbing from Kiwi Ranch in Curious Cove below.
Log book too wet to write in and pen didn't work either.
Left trackable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cache - a favourite. I must get a 4WD - I only just got past the first steep slippery section and then had no trouble from there to the gate. It was a fun drive though. The large puddle wasn't as bad as it looked. Enjoyed the walk to the final from the WP. Was pleasantly surprised to see the cache was above Curious Cove where my son was on a camp. I could hear voices so called out and waved - I'll have to wait until Friday to see if he heard me! The cache and logbook were very wet. TFTC and walk. (It took just over an hour from turning off to getting back to the road.)

Fantastic view, fantastic spot. An excellent walk along the ridge through the native forest. Just follow the written instructions and ignore the second coordinates as they are way wrong. On the way along the side road to the cach site there are two large rock fall across the road and only a 4WD will get through. You may have to walk the last 2.4 km along this side road. The cach was full of water and all inside was wet. TFTC Mills and Boon

Struggled to find the start of the path to the final cache. Didn't want to start trying to create my own. Never mind, I enjoyed the walk to the cache and the great views.

03-Mar-11
After heavy rain the access road deteriorated halfway in to the cache. When we came to a particularly large pothole full of water right across the road we decided it was time to turn back.Still had about 900m to go.

26-Feb-11
After coming to a dead stop in front of an enormous puddle that nearly absorbed Team Leader, we backed out to the ‘carpark’ and walked up the 1.2kms to the gate .The views from GZ are amazing but it wasn’t a good time for the follower to discover a serious balance issue. A few school teams have signed the log recently but it was definitely time to move the resident TB on to a new location.

Best cache location out there IMHO, and had to revisit to drop in Starbugs T/B. This is as close to the stars as I could get!

Well, this has probably just leapt itself into one of my top favourite caches! Not to be taken lightly though. I was on a mission today, doing the difficult roads from Nelson to Blenheim via Queen Charlotte Drive and the Port Underwood road. Quite a few people enjoying the view from the roadside, must have wondered where I was going as I disappeared down the ridge track. Hmm, need to note that the road past the clearing is pretty tricky and probably only suitable for 4WD unless you are really confident. I left my little red parked at the clearing and walked the rest of the way past fallen trees and car swallowing puddles. Felt a bit dodgy passing the gate with the 'Private Road' sign on it but decided I'd come this far I'd just plead ignorance if there was anyone else about. Clues at WP1 all good but then I checked Ihow far it was to GZ and thought woah! Oh well, thought I'd spotted a way up into the bush and lo and behold there is definitely a track all the way to GZ. Looks like it was probably used more in the past. Well what can I say, truly spectacular and definitely worth the effort. Thanks heaps for this cache, Biggles.

have riden from Picton to the tower before. This time, we were keen to do the cache, in gale winds! Should have taken the 4wd, but got the van up to the gate. This is a cool cache, although worker found her self looking at several places she works at. Must go back and do the Kiwi Ranch track. Nice one thanks.

After not reading ALL the available info when looking for this last year I was determined to find it this year. I left both the camera and the wife back at the house, one by mistake and the other by choice, but will be back on the first nice day with both of them! I stayed at Curious Cove in 1963 on a school trip but never saw the place from this angle. Thanks Buzztasman for a real beaut!
Left a Hawaii 25c coin and took only memories. TFTC

3/22/09 I brought both the wife AND the camera up here today to get away from the town and enjoy the view

Found with local policeman muggle and 10 yr old niece. Fantastic cache, was great to show the local policeman a spot he never knew existed which is what geocaching is all about. The little geotruck had fun launching itself at the second half of the gravel road (4 wheel drive track really). View at GZ was stunning on what was a stunning day, pity we didn't bring the camera. Found the booty with little difficulty, thanks for bringing us here and TFTC. NINO.

My gosh that was rather extreme. The drive in in the low slung family geomobile was interesting to say the least. White knuckles for Mr Explorer and a very nervous Mrs Explorer in the passengers seat, if it had been dry I'm sure it would have been far easier. A good walk for the Little Explorer's (5 & 7) and a very faint track so hoped we had the co-ords right. At gz we lost our nerve and used our phone a friend life line. "Yes it's out there" was Buzztasman's reply. With his insurance paid up Mr Explorer ventured onto the slope and left Mrs Explorer and the girls in a safer spot. Not sure if I would have gone out there without the final confirmation - the clue wasn't enough for us so very glad of the Vodafone coverage. Thanks for a very challenging cache that we will remember for a while.

Agree, that to do this in less than hour would be pushing it but it was good exercise, although parts of the track were a little bit overgrown. Those with vertigo or a fear of bluffs or imagining themselves falling a long way downward should approach the GZ with caution rather than bravado. I always feel that after a trek, finding the cache would not then be an ordeal and if I was alone, I would have abandoned it. Enjoyed the view the walk though, but recommend caution with children when approaching GZ. TFTC

This took us much longer than an hour, but was still an enjoyable cache. The puzzle was easy, and the walk through the stand of native bush picturesque and rewarding. We did not have time to explore the Kiwi Ranch diversion and found the ascent and descent down to the lookout precarious. A sharper clue would also be a good addition to this enjoyable cache. TFTC

Raumati Beach School has been on a week-long camp at Curious Cove -below you as you visit the cache site. Climbed up the steep way, had lunch at the lookout; the climb was also one of the "Summits for Ed" memorial climbs, with a reading, a waiata and a moment's silence. Then on to the BCNZ mast to decode the puzzle -the children loved their introduction to geocaching. Lots of fun finding the final and signing in -learning about the etiquette of doing it neatly and making a swap.

A beautiful spot on a spectacular day -views forever...

Log signed by Boogie-O, plus Andre (who swapped his Cook Strait Ferry souvenir coin for the Ms Vampire bean), Gina, Madeline, Liam, Damon Nik, Kaylah, Ngaire, Katreena, Holly, Matthew, Callum, Bailey and parents Rosemary and Damien.

Thanks BuzzTasman, a great spot!

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!!! Big Grin

Perfect effort:reward ratio on this one. This tops my all-time favourites cache list, keeping in mind I don't do the "you might have to overnight at the hut" ones.

I approached the road with some trepidation after reading my learned friend ADV's log. I drive the same make of RWD van, and I was envisaging having to drive it vertically up a knife edge. Sure, the road was rutted, but nothing worse than any other rocky forest/forestry road. I have driven and successfully survived worse (Sabine - look it up, I bailed out on that one with the low slung V6 family car...). But, I would have taken my low to the ground family car up here and made it without breaking a sweat. You just have to read the surface. But enough about the road - it was dry, so that was a big plus. I'm not sure how things would have been wet or muddy. A decent tread is a must I would imagine. (I would have taken a 5 berth motorhome up here too - but I appreciate people from the Netherlands aren't used to our roads Wink

One thing about the day I visited - Picton was 'enjoying' a weird local 24 hour storm with gusts up to 50 knots. JUST the sort of weather to get onto an exposed ridge, don't you think? Big Grin Luckily the trees took the brunt of it, but the local man made feature was howling in the wind, something a little off-putting at the time.

I walked into WP1, having forgotten it was a multi. Two things happened. 1) I'm thinking: I don't know why they rave about this. No view, just a walk up to a [man made feature]. "Cache of the trip", Are they nuts? 2) Looking all around WP1 for the cache, I notice this very - almost symmetrical - number. "Would be cool for a multi", I thought (I swear, I did).

Not believing I can't find the cache, I decide to look up the hint. DOH - it's a multi. Dumbo. Well, what do you know? The number is being used in a multi. Heh. Worked out the final coords. The next hardest thing was to find "the track". What the....? I couldn't remember one veering off on the way up. Reading the surface of the surroundings provided the clue - mountain goat mode enabled, I made it onto the... what barely passes as a track for the first 20 meters. But after that it opened up a bit.

A pleasant walk amongst the natives, trying to ignore the wind gusts, I arrive at the final location...

Ok, you got me. That's the best seat in the house. I took some pictures, but they don't do it justice - I'll leave others to post theirs taken during better conditions. Luckily it was on the sheltered side of the ridge, so the wind became a non-factor, and I just sat there for a while. Although time was an issue (I had been phoned a Blenheim FTF opportunity), I could not make myself get up for some time. For all the smelly, wet, dumb, toi toi, blackberry, dusty Wink, stupid caches out there, you can't walk away from a superb one like this when you get there.

TNLNSL. Thank you VERY much for taking me here.

Voted "cache of the trip". Great fun all round, the road is one of the more interesting we've run into caching, the walk one of the more pleasant and the views definitely right up there with anything else. Awesome! Thanks so much for bringing us here - oh yes, and for the box there too.

Man did I choose the wrong day for this one. Gale force winds and rain. I'll have to go back on a nice day. -Ducky + Puzzle.

Simply awesome. Good thing the "road" in was nice and dry as it is steepish and rutted, pretty much on the limit of what my RWD only van can handle. Really amazed at where I was when I got to the first waypoint but then the final totally took my breath away. Was so focussed on the views and taking photos that locating the cache was a last minute thing before I headed back.

TNLNSL Very much appreciated, thank you!

Well where do you start really enjoyed the battle with the wind and it was blowing really well, had to hold on whilst hunting for the cache with those gusts.
What brilliant views from here made it all worth while.

Driving around the coast I remember see the cell tower and thing thats high up little did i know due to the powers of caching I would soon be at its feet ( My poor wee car Smile it was glad to have a rest at the top while I walked in and on to the cache, great view and a very nice day a few yachts, and other boats enjoying the day. Got a bit of a fright when puling the cache from its hiding place as it had a very large green slug between my fingers and the box ( Wouldn't like to drop it way up their Wink

Very pleasant cache - despite the grey skies and rain.
Great view. Not sure about the coords though. When I finally read the clue, and worked out which area it referred to, the GPS was saying 50m to go. I'll check it out when I get back home. TNLN, Thanks.

What a view! But lots of difficulty to get there. 10 minutes for each part is probably an under-estimate. But .... What a view .... all worth the effort! Magnificent!!
Thanks

This find was the result of a frustrating delay in an instalation project in Blenheim. A vital part was forgotten and I had four hours to kill while it was driven up from Christchurch... so... where better to kill it!
I have to say the road to the first part of the cache is more suitable to 4X4's though the trusty "work vehicle that can go anywhere" got me there in the end.
Dressed as I was in full business atire, the final leg of the journey would have looked rather amusing to anyone else that happened upon me!
As for the final cache site... what more can you say WOW.
Only standing on top of Mount Richmond beats this one!
I got a bit of Vertigo standing on the edge there and it took my breath away!
The trip back to Blenheim was a round trip back through the dirt Port Underwood road, just to make sure the car looked the part!
Thanks for the cache, An impressive effort and one not to be missed! I shall return with others in tow next time.
Cache in very good order
TNLN - Cheers

After we arrived in Picton we thought of getting this cache. However, the road was not particularly suited for a 5-berth motorhome! 'Danger ahead, dropouts and upcoming logging trucks'. With sweaty hands we made our way up a bit, but decided to turn halfway. This cache seems more suited for 4x4 vehicles (we left ours at home (The Netherlands) unfortunately). The surroundings are beautiful though... Thus, no TB's delivered this time.

What a great cache this turned out to be! It was a beautiful day and I'd just rolled off the ferry and this was first on my list. I drove up the hill, found the unmarked road and went on a tiki tour. Bit rough in places - but fine for the wagon. Found a place to stop and headed on the hike. The first part to the waypoint was fairly ho-hum, and found the required details for the second section of the cache easily enough. What a nice hike through the bush to the final cache site - and wow! What a glorious view! When I got there the ferry I came over on was just sailing out. Hunted around for a while to find the cache but eventually found it. No exchange made. Cheers, and thanks for the lovely cache! Cheers Gav [705/FTF]
