I think you're right whitewebbs, sorry about that. I think a change of GZ is called for!
What a great multi around the gardens, but GZ was too prickly, too overgrown. Spent sometime searching but to no avail. The prickles have won! But now 2 dnf in a row, perhaps it has been muggled?
We enjoyed our walk around the gardens, but eventually gave up looking in prickle bushes at GZ. We will return for another go on a slightly drier day...
Our larst day of adventure in Tassie and was able to slip in a side gate to finish off this one. A wounderfull display of plants showing all there beautifull colours of Autum. After hidding some treasure on the way to GZ we followed several trails till we reached GZ.
Nilmerg5 and I found it. Hike to GZ with our little 3 years old adventure was fun. She loved it.
Lovely walk - though had a bit of trouble honing in on gz eventually found this last winter but did cyberspace eat my field notes?
Lovely walk around the gardens. Not so lovely at GZ. Searched the wrong prickle bush for 10mins before heading into the right one. Ouch! TFTC
775 - Had a walk through the lovely gardens and found the necessary information to solve the questions. We saw the oldest still operating merry-go-round which is steam operated in the gardens as well which was a bonus. Thanks for placing the cache el golco, it pointed out some nice areas of the gardens. Found the cache in its hiding place after looking for about 10 minutes and getting a few scratches on the way to GZ.
Opps! We picked up our query on 19/11/2010 before we left Brisbane for our holiday and did not realise this one was offline at the time we found it.
I have kindly been advised that a reduction burn is to take place in the vicinity of this cache so I will return it when it is safe to do so
Not too prickly for grownups but the geokids complained every inch of the way for the last 20m or so. Didn't help that one of them fell into a bunch of the sharp native grass.
Gorgeous day for a walk through the gardens, gave the geokids a good run, but the last bit only suitable for a few of us. Thanks
A quick tour of part of the Botanical Gardens and a relatively quick find - not too prickly. TFTC
This was next on this afternoon's tour of the Domain and gardens. A fascinating journey and that info about the gadget at the first waypoint was very interesting indeed . It's amazing to think that they went to that much trouble .
Once we had all the clues, we headed to GZ where we quickly had the stash in hand at 16:25.
Took a TB that wasn't listed as being in there, LNSL. Thanks for the tour and the cache el golco.

loved this walk - but what a disappointingly rubbishy GZ. Looks like homeless people use it! Scrobbled around every bush until I found it. Left TB
I tried this one a couple of years back and never finished it. Had some spare time today so went for a walk around the gardens and re-found all the WPs.
Cache is still dry and in good order. TNLN.
Thanks el golco.

A late afternoon stroll around the gardens with the geofamily soon had all the necessary information. We didnt realise there was a gateway near the last waypoint and went the long way around via the entrance. Looks like someone has been sleeping at GZ (scary pace in the Domain at night). Many Thanks el golco.
Nice time of the year to stroll around the gardens.
I wouldn't have guessed the first gadget. It was an interesting idea, and very good description.
Not too many duck present at the second waypoint, quite a few muggles though. Popped into the fern garden for quick look.
Seen several trpes of waypoint three - this one was waiting for the seedlings to get a bit bigger. An interesting sculpture nearby though.
Waypoint four was a complex structure, but a great spot to sit and do the calculations.
The caches was found soon after.
Thanks for the nice walk int he gardens, Robmc.

A short wander round the gardens, followed by a trek into the long grass.
GZ had evidence of acticity unrelated to caching, so I logged the find and left quickly,

Solved all the Clues, Found GZ (we think) but after many scratches from the prickles had to give up, we saw an spot which look like a container once lived there, but nothing was around??? Muggled?
hopefully we will be able to complete this one soon

Got great satisfaction in finding this one. First multi-cache of this magnitude to be attempted by myself. Lost some sweat finding it without to many prickles.
Found by Mary & David, in company with Team Crackers, at 1245. This was just great. We'd never been to these gardens before, and were impressed by the variety here. We love old places, and even the walls and rockeries were very typical of such an early period. The lady garden guide near WP1 was quite intrigued to hear us talking about a 'giant gadget' on our quest. WP3 had us scratching our heads for a while, and we weren't sure we had the right answer until we found the cache. Our thanks again to el golco.
Continuing our tour of Hobart and surrounds with maccamob we really enjoyed roaming around the gardens collecting the clues although wpt 3 has us confused for awhile so we took a vote on what must be the correct answer even though there were no seeds anywhere, fortunately this guess proved correct and not long after we had the cache in hand, happy to say without the loss of any blood
Thanks el golco for a very enjoyable multi

Our last cache in Tassie. Not the intention, however, the other nearby multi caches had been muggled so became "Did not finish". Had 30 mins to collect the info as time had gotten away from us. Just had to see Pete's Patch before the gardens closed for the day. Gathered a fine colection of seeds in and on our shoes on our way to GZ. TFTH
Definitely found the prickles amongst other things.
Wonderful time doing this. TFTC

Struggled with a failing iPhone battery but got all the coords eventually to then have my phone die. Backup arrived just then and a joint effort yielded the prize and the prickles!

Really enjoyed this find. Very pleasant afternoon of wandering. TFTC. Took bouncy ball, left Frill Neck Lizard stamper.
The last time I was in these gardens Peter Cundall was filming one of the last episodes of his show. We waited until the film crew had been able to coax him to be more enthusiatic in his wrap up before we could pass and he graciously apologised for holding us up. Of course we were enthralled by the whole production.
Nice to return today and revisit familiar spots and a grass seed and prickly climb to GZ.
Great cache to finally do.

Found at 1545hrs as my 190th cache find on a cold, wet, miserable day. But a cache find warms the cockles of the heart for any gardener. Luv the Bots, a favourite place to go and think. TFTC and cheers OldSaint.
Found on our Tassie trip with saraci.jaee and Indiana08. Enjoyed this opportunity to explore Hobart's Botanical Gardens. We were looking forward to visiting Pete's Patch as long-standing fans of this show.

Found it 14:10 with friend RobB. Really enjoyed the short tour of the gardens. Had a bit of difficulty spying the cache at GZ and was about to leave when RobB spotted it. I think he is enjoying this new thing called geocaching.
Nice trip through the Hobart Botanic Garden. Unfortunately I could not locate a cache at the final coordinates. The bush looks like a lot of other geocachers were allready looking there, but something looking like the hide-out of a small was not located by me.
Last Monday I had a leisurely stroll through the gardens with my grandson, collecting the required information. I couldn't take him up into the bush, however, so I returned alone today to complete the task. Thanks for the cache.
A lovely stroll through the gardens
I'd love to get hold of some of that timber they used at the planned structure
But with the cache coords calculated I ventured out of the gardens and into the seedier areas of the domain [:o]
It's darn difficult to remove some of them for my socks after a stroll
The cache was found in an area that I would not like to venture after dark. Some pretty weird stuff obviously happens after hours [xx(]

Quite an enjoyable walk through the Gardens. While here, detour a bit to see the sub-Antarctic "garden" building. Very nicely done.

Amy so kindly organised a picnic today with her family and since I arrived early I decided to get a head start on some of these caches. As it happened, where we arranged to meet was less than 100m from GZ so I ducked off to log the find while waiting for the others to arrive.
I was fascinated to read of the Arthur Walls, great science at work! I was also impressed by the general beauty of the gardens.
Thanks very much.

Our last couple of hours on Tasmania we spent on Salamance and the Domain. A botanical garden is always a nice place to be. At WP 2 a wedding ceremony was going on but we were able to retrieve the information. A short bushwalk lead us to the cache.
Nice and easy stroll to cache wearing just flip-flops. Nevertheless T1 appers a bit low rating to me.
Thoroughly enjoyed this cache through the beautiful botanic gardens in Hobart. Nice work on this one el golco!
Thanks for the nice tour through the gardens...and thats your bloomin' lot, cheerily.
We enjoyed wandering through the gardens looking for the WPs. Found the cache just before dark. TNLN. Thanks for a great cache el golco.
A nice wander in the park and a chance to take some photos. Got a few prickles at the end but came out relatively unscathed. TFTC.
enjoyed this nice sunday stroll through the gardens.

Well thought out and an excellent, fun cache. We took nothing and left nothing. Thanks for bring us to this great location. Yellow Bug, Hawaii, USA
What a difference between the beautiful gardens and the obligatory prickles! And we were in our Tevas (it being a very hot day), so our feet got prickled too. Well but it was all worth it to find this cache after a very nice hunt for clues all through the gardens. TFTC
glorious summer day - what better place to be? enjoyed this multi-cache, although the promised reward of an ice cream at the end for the kids was thwarted by the non-open kiosk!
My 4th or 5th time in Hobart and I always seem to end up here. This time there was a cache to do and it was a well put-together multi which led me around and out. Thanks el golco.
What a nice place to be around lunchtime. Lots of smiling people all interested in everything execpt us!!!! Got all the info and off we went to GZ. Well how different the terrain is at GZ to all the waypoints!!! What a great way to end a multi!!!.
TFTC T Monkey left a witch to go with the TB we left.
We think the TB can do her job from up here.

We spent a good deal of time here in the gardens. A very peaceful place and spectacular Tulip display. We did notice that Tasmania is about a month behind the flowering times in Perth on most of the plants we recognised.
The finalwas easily located following the geotrail up.
Thanks for the cache.

Thanks, el golco. This was a fun and interesting walk on a lovely afternoon. Thought I'd made a mistake on the last leg to the cache but went straight to it. Took football (to make room), left cards.
Enjoyed a lovely walk around the gardens, before leading the extended team up the side of a hill. A very enjoyable hike, and a fun find.
Took Sweet Pea seeds for me Mam, left pocket knife, Shrek Pez(only green thing I had) and a TripleJ keyring. - It was a bit empty.....

Arr, we seemed ta be followin' a trail left by Cap'n Nod, left fer us tha day before! Half tha treasures we grabbed had been visited by him yesterday! Even so, this was a nice leisurely stroll along tha' gardens. As my companion fer tha day mentioned, we did grab a bite to eat. What she failed to mention was tha fact that she was about to call tha authorities on tha pair of us, when a certain pirate persuaded her not to. It's as me pappy said 'tread softly, and carry yer sword always!' Haha! She also agreed to feed us in exchange fer not pillagin' her little shop.
Another fun and interesting multi. The Shadow of Darkness and I managed to miss a very obvious gate which had us going a very long way around. Fortunately it was via the Cafe so it was worth the extra walking. TNLNSL. Thanks Snuva

Found this afternoon in very enjoyable weather. Interesting name with the way points not being where I would have assumed they'd be. Still managed to find eveything I needed to locate the cache without too much trouble. Even managed to pick my way through the prickles unscathed.
Thanks for the cache.

Fifth of thirteen finds on my last day in Hobart. These gardens are some of the best I've ever seen, and I've been in quite a few botanical gardens in my pursuit of geocaches. I made my way around the waypoints, and was pleased to see that Melbourne is not the only place in Australia with a floral clock. I had a bit of trouble with WP3. The coordinates placed me in a grassed area, but it was obvious where I should have been. However, the question asked is not answered at the object, unless the question is deliberately cryptic. However, none of the other questions were cryptic, so I'm still at a loss as to the intention. I took a guess at the required date, and it turned out to be correct, but I reckon the question could do with a review. I found the cache at 1020. Thanks to el golco for the cache. Cheers, dak.

This was a nice cache for the young 'uns, around mostly very familiar territory. Love the gardening themed swaps, in particular. We were, however, a bit suprised, and perhaps a little disappointed that none of the WPs involved actually visiting Pete's Veggie Patch itself. 6 y.o. cacher was the first to spot the cache - he's definitely getting his eye in! Took sweet-pea seeds, left sweet-pea seeds - at the 4 y.o.'s insistence!
Third time lucky, found after two quick visits with no result, thought I'd made a mistake with my figuring so tonight just followed the GPS and amazingly found it (except kept looking for blackberries!!) that put me off the scent for a bit.
Took batteries left pack of sweetpea seeds SL
Enjoyed this one, thanks el golco.

Oh this has been our nemesis cache. How happy to see it back online. Alas, the previous work on the waypoints was at home in the caching bag. So we stopped at Subway for a takeaway lunch and redid this cache on a gorgeous summers day.
Much joy at GZ, not only were we at the correct GZ previously, but this time Sirius came up with the goods Cheers Quilter

New cache placed at same location as previous one muggled. Fingers crossed that mauggles don't strike twice in the same place
Have been somewhat remiss in not checking this sooner. Promise some action soon and will replace if it has been muggled.
[A good stroll through the gardens, each WP was clear and obvious once the location was reached, searched every possible location that I thought it could be, within 20M of GZ]read prickle bush[and was still unable to locate it, maybe it is missing, although I may not be the most observant. I will wait and see.

Arrggghhhh, prickles prickles and more prickles. This was our second go at this one, this time with Sirius leading the charge, and we still came up empty. Finding all the clues in the gardens is definantly 1/1 material, but the final hide isn't, more like a 5/5 since we couldn't find it [B)]. We shall keep an eye out and try again after someone else has found it. Cheers Quilter
Enjoyed the various WP's around the Gardens, but try as we might we couldn't locate the booty. We found what looked a lot like an ex-cache hidey hole after searching the area for 15-20 minutes, but no cache...
what better way to spend easter Monday than a leisurly stroll around here, this was really quite interesting, WP1 especially, what an ingenious gadget ... we spent a good hour taking our time around the waypoints, then Ellie decided the Girls didn't need to see the sadistic southern cachers prickle fetish at GZ, so they went back to the car while the Men braved the Man eating ravernous Flora to extract the goodies
Very enjoyable cache thanks guys, well done ... can't remember if I swapped here or not, i don't think so, but caching dynamo did (I think)....

Called through here today and grab the preliminary info, but didn't bother with the final WP because it was marked as archived still - is the cache back yet? If not will it be back soon?
Found Termite Ted from the northeast U.S., before the fire rescue! Not many muggles up there...
Temporarily disabled (thanks to Swampy's midnight dash) while council burnoffs take place. Back soon.
Found after a nice walk in the woods by the crew of Cygnus Montanus. Left Termite Ted, who rather prefers the woods to the sea...
We found our first geocache and was very excited. Said a sad goodbye to Termite Ted.
We finally got around to logging this one - don't want to use up all the good ones at once do we!! When we saw the number of cars at the gardens we thought that life was going to be difficult, but fortunately they were mostly occupied with Robin Hood! An enjoyable stroll around the gardens, and then a trip through the prickles - where we took a clamp and left a frog to plant in your garden (hmm, not sure what you call those ornament things that you stick into the gound!!!) Thanks el golco.
It has been soooo many years since we visited these gardens and they are still as peaceful and as beautiful as we remember them. It's especially nice to see the improvements that have been made with regard to 'disabled friendliness'.
Thankyou for leading us back here el golco. We spent a very enjoyable hour wandering around the waypoints.
