In spite of what I read back in 2005, it's becoming obvious The Mysterious They aren't planning on making this a public reserve any time soon. The blockades placed in front of all the access points make the point of that. The place really looks a bit worse now than when it was first created, really...
So shutting down the cache at this location. Maybe I can find a 'Wattle Swamplands' somewhere...

Was surprised that one could almost drive right up to this cache. We soon located the great idea for a cache container hidden in a well protected spot. These water catchment and filtration dams are an important part in helping our enviroment.

Got to the access point and the gate was open, so saved a bit of walking. Interesting container idea.

Only one question.....Why? Why have a cache here, apart from the level of difficulty.
The most difficult part is finding where to get in. Is it private land?
Anyway, it's still fun. Left a set of cuff links for anyone so inclined. Took nothing.

This is the third time that I have been out to the site. This time I didn't even get out the GPS. There was recent activity at the site and a track through the long grass so I managed to walk straight to it. The other two times I think I was nearly standing on it but because of the growth that is waist deep I couldn't see it. Took nothing left calling card. TFTC

I had been looking at this one the other day and it was lucky as it pays to do a bit of research into your approach to this one. A nice quick find once at the GZ.
Thanks c.j.b for the cache.

Found GZ area easy enough after parking near Docs. The cache is a different story. No-one has been here recently and the area is overgrown mostly with Blackberry bush. Left plenty of DNA in the area. Have no skin left on the legs. If you are going to this one, take a machette. Good luck. I might try again with a chainsaw and axe.
Rode in with MTB during a sunshower. Had been here before, BC (before caching). Some teenage muggles on minibikes were present around area. Came in via Docs (second attempt), no need to go thru/over fences.
Great hidyhole!
Took nerf ball and left "Baghead" figurine.
Area was free of rubbish so did not need to practice CITO at this time. Rode out via Milk dept.

Initially parked on the wrong side of the tracks as I was coming from another cache find. Found the place to park thanks to the hints and found the path and cache quite easily.
Thx

Man this was the most difficult cache I have found in a long long long time.... Just trying to get there was the hardest...
I warn everybody now look at google maps first and plan your route...
It had been raining hard and it was muddy muddy muddy... my poor sandshoes where covered... Oh and my socks....
But what a challenge.... I loved it... I wasn't going to let this cache beat me..
Eventually I found the gravel track and drove down it and walked the required 150m... The cache was easy enough to find thank god...
I enjoyed catching a graffitti artist (scumbag) in the drain pipe under the rail line. He was smoking a bong and setting up his cans... I sort of popped my head out of the bushes and said 'What the F,,,,,, are you up too" He hurried away quite quickly... hahaha
Thanks for a great cache, and a fantastic challenge...

Had a little bit of trouble finding the cache in the dark but once the torch hit the right spot it became obvious and the very interesting container was in hand.

I must come back in the day for a look around.
8 decathlon caches down and 2 to go but less than 2 hours to do it.

Found at 10:20.
Worked out from the street directory the best way to approach this one - then it was easy.
Wonder if there were any cachers on the two trains that went past...
Love the multi-chamber novelty container No sign of the TB that was supposed to be in there, though.
Thanks, c.j.b

Great spot to watch birds unfortunately did not have time to indentify more than ten species before the logbook was filled out and time to move on.

Took ages to find a way into this location. Ages. Had about three goes. Eventually I found a path from 220m. Interesting container. Have not seen one of those before.
pretty easy find once in right spot.. good container. on first look didnt even see it but looked again and could see it.
Entered into the reserve via the path that runs alongside the Department of Community Services. From here we had a reasonably easy walk in and located GZ which is definately a little overgrown but an easy find once in the right location. Loved the cache container!! TNLN, TFTC.

I saw a rabbit walking to this cache. I haven't seen a rabbit in Newcastle for ages, maybe it's a Cardiff thing. The cache was a good hide in a great container. I took a rubber soccer ball and left a plastic crocodile. T4TC.
Found it I enjoyed the challenge of getting to this one and I really liked the container. TFTC SL TNLN

This was the second time today that there was a cache just up the road from where I had business to attend to.
Nice hide in an interesting area, surrounded by rail and industrial sites as it is.
It took me 3 tries to find the log book.
Interesting container.

Back online. Even though it's an easy cache to find, there should be at least a degree of unexpectedness in the hunt..
Fifth cache for the day. Took a mate Lox and my Godson Sam along to find this one. Their first cache! Dropped off Crushy die Schildkrote TB. Only one muggle around on a motorbike....no probs.

Cache has been disabled until I can find another hiding spot for it after the previous cacher gave everything away.
Yay, the 4th for the day.
From sugarloaf to train station to drop off fellow cache buddy then out into the Cardiff Industrial Estate for a relatively easy find. Loved the cache itself, very ingenious! Retreived teddy bear and whistle, replaced some marbles. Thanks for another great cache. The train driver even gave us a toot !

Found this one on a late night caching spree with cous (hoppy Bounce). Wasn't to hard to get to it but I went a quicker but hared way through some unpleasent tall grass. But hey I found it first. I love the container.

2230 #4 Found with Hoppy bounce as a night caching trip keeping 'Shane' awake all night. Not familiar with area and parked at Community Services, and hiked through to train line and the cache. Loved the cache container.
Brought Idaho 2007 geocoin along for night caching. Left a Crosslands pen

Found this with the Cooke monster clan at about 10:30pm The Wetlands are dried out now and the GPS came to zero right on top of the Stash. Great spot.
Back in action. The location is still a bit sodden, so unless you're XTR3M3, the area could do with a few weeks more to de-mud.
Offline for maintenance-- the wetlands became a floodlands, but surprisingly the cache stayed put..
WE found this at 10.30am. We entered past the dairy farmers land and parked at the locked gate. Took pencil sharpener and left a Teddy Bear. Thanks
Almost too obvious where it was once we go there, but the area was new to me. Nice stroll. Left whistle, took Kiwi keyring. Singed Log.

cool place - - We didn't know the palce existed. Found it first go after we drove around a bit to find a spot to park. Ended up parking on the grass at the end of the lane to dairy farmers.
Third find of five for the day. Interesting container, and not a bad hide. Did quite a few kms trying to find the best run at it. I guess that's the price to pay for not planning your hunts before hand, but then it's half the fun too.

Teamed up with Shonkylogic for a bit before they headed back to Adelaide. Yes we too thought we'd find a way through but ended up driving quite a bit further on before we found a way to access the cache area. We stood back and surveyed the uninviting area we had to descend into to find the cache and Bruce drew the short straw. Luckily he found it after a short search. Nice container.Took whistle and left ball. Thanks cjb
Went along with Liz and Bruce (actully I did the driving, including the long drive from one side of the tracks to the other!). Glad Bruce found this one as I was wearing sandals and wasn't keen to go too close to GZ. Onya Bruce.
Took a detour on the way to the in-laws to finally track this one down.
Little Miss Rat and I went for a 200m walk from the car to the cache (after checking out a few likely parking places in the odd culdesac or two). A trio of workers on the rail line were looking a bit close to the cache site, but the bushes gave enough cover when the moment of discovery came.
Miss Rat made of with a little sewing kit, and we left behind a travel toothbrush and a CITO module.
Thanks for the fun.

thanks again for the cache.
thanks again for the cache.
Howllllllll!!. A maiden cache for the doggies.
This cache was frustrating because we ended up on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak. For the sake of a lousy 30 metres we had to drive around the bloody world to find an opening. Anyway we finally found the way in. Cool Container. Aaah don't we love the smell of fibreglass in the morning. Clever hiding.
