Sorry folks, I have to archive this cache, as it has gone missing too often, and I can't get out there whenever I need to. Cheers from Grandalf
I'm disabling this one for a while, until they sort out the earthquake debris disposal. There are big fences everywhere. Just put it on your watchlist, and one fine day, it will turn up again. Have patience. Cheers, Grandalf.
Still couldn't get to this one due the big fences being in the way. This cache may need to be put on hold for a while by the owner.
The cache is behind the fences keeping us out of the earthquake rubbish, may be some time before it is open to public again.
Like others, we were just about to give up and then I made one last search and bingo!
Yes bingo. Mporokosa and I had a slight wait sitting on the seat nearby waiting for the muggles and their dogs to move away from the pond. TFTC
I ignored the 'closed tracks' signs to get this cache and complete Tour de Forest. The tracks are all ok but some roads are being used by the trucks dumping quake rubble and liquifaction sand. I guess trucks and recreational users don't mix. Therefore there was no one around today at GZ, so I was able to search thoroughly. The cache was quickly found, signed and replaced. TFTC.
There is no pencil in the cache. I didn't have one on me or would have gladly replaced it.
Lovely spot. As I was looking for the cache I discovered a tree frog sitting in the cool under some tussock - I'm not sure which of us was more surprised. Anyway I left it in the peace and took in the scenery. NOTE THERE IS NO PENCIL IN THE CACHE. I didn't have one on my, so have photo and the TB that was there as proof.
not so peaceful a pond today, as everyone and their dog/horse/bike/small children came by. Found it in a moment of peace.
Nice extension to our earlier walk to Teddy Bear's Picnic. Muggles central! Fabricated a game of hide and seek with the kids to cover our geosearching. Took small glass bead, left a dinosaur.
Nice walk through forest with the kids shame of the clearing, good hide took a while

Stopped for lunch while we waited for a few muggles and their dogs go past. We were moments away from GZ, when we bumped into Grandalf again!! TFTC dropped off Caching Hazards GC
A quick bike ride with some non geocache type friends. May have some takers! TFTC
Renewed the logbook - the area has changed a lot since I last visited. But the cache is alive and well.
Collected a travel bug earlier in the day and as the evening was so lovely I found this geocache very close to my home. Hubby, the dog and I went for a walk and put the travel bug in this cache. The log book is full now so I left a piece of paper tucked inside the back of the note book. The sun was almost down when we arrived so there were no muggles. TFTC.
Found it on second attempt; too many muggles around the first time round. Log book rather full, fun wee cache.
Quick find while on a bike ride with the Jr Cachers. Took a couple of animals and left a couple! TFTC
Great spot and simple hide - log book is full and could do with replacement it was an ideal spot to give everyone a break and the dog a drink Weather was fantastic caches simple to find and we were getting good excercise on the bikes Many thanks for dragging us out here Little G Magic
Quick find after a couple of MTBers left.
Took pathtag McWindeLuneX7 and will probably drop it somewhere in Dunedin this weekend.

After a muggle had left, the GPS took me to a spot which matched the hint, but it was quite an exposed place. Nothing resulted from my searching here or in the general area. I wonder if it is, or perhaps should be, a little more out of sight?
We looked for this but without success - as per previous note think we found the spot but nothing there.
Nice and peaceful here today, even the workers near-by were missing, must have been lunch time.TFTC
I missed getting this one yesterday and discovered the mistake last night when I was logging the other finds in this area. So I dropped off my caching daughter at school this morning, came back got it after a long long search. TFTC.
Nice hide - lots of muggles at this point so had to make out that we were just resting here on our ride, well we were actually, TNLN SL TFTH
Not many Muggles today, but when we left it looked like there were some other geochashers. Our GPS was playing up at this one, so it took us quite some time to find the cache. TFTC
Found this cache on my second attempt once the muggles were gone. Peaceful indeed while resting from a MTB ride.
Thanks for the cache. Signed log, took nothing, left nothing.

Got so frustrated by this one as we hadn't got a map of the forest. The info centre at the CP had run out so we tried to sketch one off the wall. Then found one of the tracks was closed for tree felling and had to do a huge circle around to get back to the cache...only to find there was a much quicker way!
Then spent ages failing to find the cache..how often do you find that the first place you look (and fail) turns out to be the last place you look (and find).
This is a lovely spot, thank you for bringing us here. Our GPS was playing a load of tricks on us just for fun!!

Found with BDCBean and Alan. Jumped back on our bikes, bleeding, and off to find the next. TFTC (c for cuts). TNLNSL
Had found this cache a while back with StreetWalker, but back to claim my own smiley. Couldn't remember where it was, so decoded hint straight away as rain was threatening, but there were a few items that fitted hint. After quite some time, I was ready to give up (it was spitting), when SW found it right where both of us had been searching. Tough wee blighter!
The pond was indeed peaceful, but the environs weren't - it was more like Piccadilly Circus as muggles came and went along the many routes that lead here.

3rd time lucky - this one proved to be a little tricky, with so many likely candidates.
A lovely day out in the forest, and a good place for a rest and a snack.

Found on a very very hot day, lovely spot. Waited until the area was muggle and suspected fellow-cacher free then enjoyed the flax bush view while rehydrating. The dog went for an unexpected swim while I logged this one. TFTC.
Great spot to drop by and rest a while. Had lunch here on trip thru plantation. Thanks for leading us here.
My mate spotted it from a few meters away.. hidden a little better when we left ;0)
Easy find. Two muggles trying to catch butterflies and lots of runners and people and dogs.
Have no idea how I got here, my first time out here on a bike in a long time and I got a wee bit lost, didn't know which trail I was on or wether I was going the right way, but it was an enjoyable afternoon, and it was really nice to sit by the pond catch my breath, soak up a little sun and peace.
Cheers.
Cheers.
After finding the Bears,We crossed the forest to locate the Pond,We actually live near by and never knew it was here. What a lovley setting for this one.We left Sheldon Benjamin, and we've taken a Crayfish, when we go to Kaikoura we will take him with us and leave him where he should be.
After a detour around the current forestry work we arrived at a very peaceful spot. Lovely location! Last cache of the day
Needed the clue and even then a little bit of a hunt and despite the dreary day was interupted a few times by passing MB's. Nice little spot in the forest for a sit and rest. TFTC
Would not expect this Oasis scene here. Great place to rest before the long walk back to car. (#494, 4/5)
Wonderful spot, and enjoyed the run through the forest to get here, pine forest notwithstanding...Thanks.
Found cache easily on second visit to this site today. A beautiful day on the weekend meant lots of muggles!
Eventually found it, although you would have needed a very long arm to find it in the way suggested. Replaced it so this was possible. The third of a circuit of 6 caches in Bottle Lake Forest, with nzcoozer and a pushchair and the two little nzcoozers. Not easy going on some of those tracks. TFTC
I let W.E.K.A. find this cache while I watched from a short distance away.
It took them a while to find the cache.
A nice location.
Thanks.

Quick find by The Red Flash while the White Gypsy shielded the site from the muggles at the nearby picnic table.

I found this cache a few weeks ago and didn't log it then. Returned with grandkids (11 and 7 years old) today and it had GONE.
Ponderosa more like. Ambushed by a possie of horse riding muggles but we were already sitting on the seat checking out the glittery goodies.
Thanks Grandalf FTC. Very warm morning thismorning to find it -and surprising how many people were out already in the forest exercising/walking. Saw a huge gold fish in pond -surprising considering it is in the middle of a pine forest!!
Waited for muggles to move on but they didn't so took a ride out to grab another cache nearby(ish) and returned to find the coast all clear on this one. Good spot for a break.

Used to enjoy bringing the MTB's here when we lived in Christchurch. On foot today for an enjoyable walk. TFTC.
A muggle filled area so took awile to get a clear time slot but woth it. good find TFTC.
A few muggles but they all must have had about three dogs each. Quick find on mb ride.A minor milestone...my 150th. Nice spot. TFTH
Quick cache and dash. Beware of the dead bird next to the cache if you come by anytime soon. TNLN. TFTC!
[Found a moment between the rain for a walk in the forest, and quick caching. Was harder than expected,] that cutty grass is well named. [But persistance pays.

Stopped at a waypoint that i had mistaken loaded onto my GPSr, glad to find that it was indeed a cache. Nice little clearing. TFTC
Good find lots of muggles enjoyed watching the passing horses bikes and joggers.
Peaceful indeed, although did have to come back after a muggle finished his lunch at GZ. Cheers - M@
#143. Found with Troodles. Looked for breifly on the way to bottle lake MEGA, but there were a lot of muggles around. On the way back it was much quieter, and was a relatively easy find.
Tried for this one last week but pesky muggle was hanging around the shelter. No such problems today while chasing the mega set. TFTC
Ah yes, hidden right on the biking trail so we could find it easily (and have an excuse to stop for a while). The biking here is fabulous- easy, flat and curvy, just the way we MTB wimps like it.
It took a couple of visits before the coast was clear
