A novel approach that got me doing a bit of research to estimate a target zone. Found today within about 15m of that guess. Thanks bubble & squeak.

We needed some help with the puzzle, but thankfully at GZ all was straightforward. It was a full day today. With rain predicted for the day earlier in the week we had booked into the War Memorial. It was a really worthwhile visit and unlike our normal choice, we chose to take a guided tour. Our guide was a lovely man who was most knowledgeable, and had a store of great anecdotes. After finishing we headed outside to work on Ad Labs and some caches, trads, multis and puzzles. Then it was off to Old Parliament House where we "maintained the Rage" and then cached until heading off to a Winter Solstice Event.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache bubble & squeak.**SKI Pair****

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. I can report that the cache is in good condition. The logbook has been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers bubble & squeak! The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 3 and we had an absolute blast, after an earlier night last night we got up early to head to Yass and the surrounding areas to cleanup a bunch of caches inparticular whereigos and our personal favourite the challenge caches. We stopped in Yass and completed some high quality caches before venturing back to the trails. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Four years ago, a Bromance team adventure to hike Australia's highest 10 peaks in Kosciuszko National Park was cancelled after bushfires devastated the Snowy Mountains (and indeed most of the Eastern seaboard). We finally returned to Kosciuszko National Park a few days ago and have just spent three wonderful days in perfect weather hiking a circuit around the mountains climbing Australia's 13 highest peaks and collecting all the alpine caches along our route. After a recovery night and a few selected virtual caches in Canberra, the plan today is to grab some further chosen caches around Canberra before heading north late afternoon and caching on the way to Goulburn. My caching buddies had already found this one and humoured me when I asked to stop when we were close. I had worked out roughly where the cache would be prior to the trip, which was confirmed with a few photos in the logs. On arrival, I climbed through the fence and headed into the bush solo, all the while checking my alignment. After a few minutes I stumbled onto the cache - I had been searching lower down and it's elevation was perhaps a few metres higher than OSM maps was indicating. I enjoyed this interesting puzzle. Very rewarding to find it. Many thanks, bubble and squeakPete#7,680

Ok, I didn't work out the puzzle with trigonometry, but I figured that I can use a ruler so I would be able to determine more or less where it should be. The elevation helped me decide where to attack the cache from. This one had piqued my interest the first time I came to Canberra as a tourist several years ago, but I didn't have the know how to figure it out, nor the time to search a wide area. Tonight I had a little bit of time as I was able to finish up work a bit earlier, I had managed to narrow my search area down to a small part and decided to just have a go at trial and error.

After work I swung by and started searching as the sun went down. I was relying on the lines and working on a vague area and looking for any cache hiding spot-looking places. A few trees looked promising, but resulted in no cache. I widened my search area a bit and went a bit closer to the topographic line, and spotted the cache hidden more in the open than I would have expected!

I opened it up and signed the log - Everything seems to be in pretty decent nick, but I had to do a double take as I had the wrong listing up on my phone and the logs weren't matching up at all. After realising I hadn't found an ancient GCA cache, I signed the log and rode off into the night.

TFTC!

This is my third trip to Canberra this year, and day two of the trip. I have met up with oz_bean_counter, and today Pprime has driven to pick us up and cruise around Canberra grabbing geocaches I couldn't ordinarily walk to on work trips and such. A nice warm-up before heading to the Snowies tomorrow!

Continuing our loop around Canberra, we made our way to this little patch of the world. Getting this geocache was on the list - an older beast and one that OBC had previously solved. I flipped through the listing and recognised it as "Through the Eye of a Needle" which I solved and found back when I was a mere teenage geocacher in Brisbane.

As it turns out, having OBC be a fan of mathematics certainly shortcut some of the trigonometry that I would have had to endure (but definitely been capable of). It was a warm day out, and I was a bit annoyed that I visited this place previously on foot, but had never noticed this geocache. But it was after lunch and feeling refreshed as we ducked out of the car and tackled the slope.

We helped squiggle under and up to GZ where OBC also made the find. It was standing here and looking back that the theory of maths checks out to be true on the ground also. All worked out very nicely. The logbook was signed at 13:45 and we were back to the car before heading off. Thanks for this geocache, bubble & squeak Smile

A day out and about in Canberra with oz_bean_counter and Captain Terror celebrating, laughing and having a LOT of fun. Picked a bunch of favs or olds as targets today and were not disappointed. OBC did the calculations here - she's useful for something afterall.

Thanks bubble & squeak for entertaining me at this location.

The first of many caches for my birthday holiday in Canberra. This one is one the list because… for some reason it’s cool. It’s old, its a jasmer, it’s got heaps of favourite points, it’s got a view, but or it’s near something that does. Either way, I guarantee I had a great time grabbing it. Thanks for making my birthday awesome!

#814 Found this one a while ago and left the puzzle itself sitting in the unsolved pile for a while, even to the point that I completely forgot about it. Decided to finally have a crack at it today and got a good solution in the end. It was a bit fiddely trying to get it all to work out but after a bit of trial and error I finally had a good result. I can recall finding this one with a fellow cacher a long while ago, I was still a fresh little noob at the time and was just excited to tag along, but I decided I wouldn’t claim this one until I solved it. Thanks bubble and squeak for the cache and puzzle

I'm out with Knightech. I enjoyed this one, have a favorite point. I had worked out an approximate GZ using the maps during lockdown, and today is time to collect. We parked and started walking. As it turned out, it was lucky I had used the maps. At GZ, I couldn't see both the beacon and the flagpole. However, we were near enough to find it. Thanks, B&S.

22-Sep-21
I initially tried to make this much harder than needed before having a lightbulb moment while reading some previous logs.

So with a rough line drawn on the map it was off to the obvious parking spot, and then a one-minute walk to the cache. My altitude at GZ was 652m, but it's not particularly hard to find. Cache and log are in very good condition.

Thanks, bubble & squeak - a favourite from me for an unusual and fun cache.

After a few attempts and many calculations l must of done something right as l found myself at the right location while in this neck of the woods and soon had the cache in hand. Interesting concept and challenge bubble & squeak. Found after some circling about but soon honed in on a familiar style of hide and happily added my name in the log book. TFTC

I worked this puzzle out a while ago and decided today was a good day to make the find. I wandered up and started to think I had made some errors when I saw the small cairn. Cache in good condition.

I had worked out coordinates to the best of my ability so headed out with DeadThief today in the hope of a find. Couldn’t spot it in the vicinity of my waypoint, so we continued to spread our search. Finally got high enough to be able to line up the two points through the smoke haze. From there I took a bearing and tracked directly downhill until I spotted I likely hide. Cache found, logged and returned. Took a look at final coordinates and found that I had southerlies very close but was out on my easterlies. May not be intended to be found that way but worked for the Thief and I. Thanks for a clever puzzle cache.

I'd solved this one quite a while ago and with a couple of hours to spare before the journey home, I figured that I'd give it a shot. It's always a worry that the calcs might not work out exactly enough for the find because of the references used but the fantastic thing about this one is that 'empirical data' can be used on site. Big Grin

Sure enough, with a squiz at the hint Red Face and some visual cues, I was finally able to sign the log at 16:10. As it turns out, I was only about 10 metres away from where 2upoj was telling me to look. Big Grin

I reckon that might just earn a fave point. Big Grin

We did half a day of finding caches in this area yesterday, but bypassed this one.
Today I came back to replace some of the containers we found in a rather sorry state yesterday and thought I would get this on the way.

Thanks for making a slightly different mystery.

What an interesting puzzle! After a relatively quick solve and a field trip up Mt. Ainslie (also caching a bit up there) to confirm, I came to the location on a chilly evening, using the views of Canberra’s central axis and Siri’s altitude feature to get to GZ. Log signed. Thanks!

I have been looking a this one for a while and after some consideration I had a really good idea of where it would be.

I came close a couple of times before when I was picking up information for another puzzle, but we ran out of time and so I didn't get a chance to come up, then another time we were driving here to see if we could find it, but got distracted on the way by the allure of people walking away from the shops with toilet paper, so we made a detour to go shopping. BUT today - this was our aim and so there was no way I was missing it this time!

Although, we almost did miss it as Aquilus1 had a different idea of where this was and luckily she was wrong. It's rare that she is ever wrong about things and in a way her mistake with this one gave us another puzzle find by chance, so I wasn't going to gloat when she came up trumps anyway.

When we did drive to the right spot it was a very short walk to GZ and exactly where I thought it would be too. It is a good feeling when you get something right. We signed the log and we were off again.

Nice idea for a puzzle. Tftc bubble & squeak!!!

Its been a long time since I had looked at this cache, long enough ago that I had put it away and not re looked at it. But out with dty73 it came up again and she had a hunch so we were on route to comes search, yesterday. A little distraction on the way had some people walking past with items of desire, a swift U turn and off for some near by essential shopping!!!

Today we returned, I had looked the night before and had a thought as to where it could be. I was wrong but it led to an unexpected discovery of another puzzle in the area we did go to first, so in the end it was a very good place to go look! Thanks for the cache Bubble & squeak, this was a simple and easy find in the end, right where D thought it would be!

13-Oct-19
I did the calculations and came up with a GZ about 12km away. I thought that couldn’t be right so I reread the description, looked at a map, and used my geo sense to narrow down a likely area. I biked over and spent about 10 minutes looking around until I found it! TFTH

Hot diggety. I decided to drop by and collect this one on the way home from my amateur radio exam.

A more recent solve, it was more a "it's approximately here".. converted to some reasonable looking coords.

I went up and made sure my focal point was correct. Knowing that it wasnt an exact science, I decided to ignore the GPS and hunt around

Turns around my GPS did settle, and I figured I'd walk to GZ.. I was.. 3-5m out.

Cache signed and on my way again. TFTC BL!

Thank you Flintstones for the Adventure Lab ‘Looking at Canberra’. We only managed one section today and were pleasantly surprised with your gift. I like the symmetry of Parliament House and its warmth as it is so cold today.

After arriving in rain yesterday it was good to see the sun, albeit a cold day for some of our team. Thank you for putting out these caches. We are on a numbers run today with a little bit of touring.

Spent a bit of time in Parliament House this week doing a variety of caches and thought I'd better give this one a go. Thought about the geometrical approach but, in the end, took a simpler, more direct line which seemed to work out OK and I found the correct pile about 5 minutes after leaving the car. I made the elevation 651m. TFTC bubble & squeak and for the enjoyable puzzle. A FP awarded.

I really enjoyed solving this neat little puzzle quiet a long time ago. I didn't know whether or not I'd be in Canberra at any stage back then, but I liked the puzzle and gave it a whirl. In fact, I tried two methods of solving the puzzle, one more direct, one geometrical/mathematical. The two differed by about 30 metres, which given the inaccuracies I used for some initial values, still put the final hiding place in the right ball park, as it were.

When we got to attempt the search in the late afternoon, we were not as quick to make the find as I had hoped. I tried first the one possibility, but didn't see anything. Then the other, and suddenly we came across a sort of a cairn, the sort that usually hides a container. But it was right next to a bit of a path and I thought this might be a bit odd. Sure enough, there was nothing there except for the stones. Hmmm, time to rethink the approach.

I made a small adjustment in how I was going to conduct a systematic search with minimal effort, and soon thereafter I found the correct pile of stones which held our prize. Great was my relief because I didn't want to chalk this on up as a DNF when I knew I was so close.

Log signed, cache replaced as found, and then we could get our smiley. After checking the actual co-ordinates against my best calculated ones, it have a difference of only 16 metres, with the easting being spot on. I'm glad I paid attention at school when we did our geometry -- it's paid off in so many ways, even if I didn't like the way it was taught back then.

I had travelled down from Brisbane to attend the Mega event in Queanbeyan and spent the last week and a bit furiously working my way through my extensive caching to-do list. My wife and daughter flew down to join me on Tuesday and since then caching has taken a back seat to more touristy activities.

Today I took the family for a drive up to Red Hill. This was a location I had visited earlier in the week but managed to lose my phone and find it again while out caching here during pouring rain. I decided that was the sign to call it quits for the day before calling in to look for this cache.

Today was much finer weather, and after a trip to the top to enjoy the views the rest of the family consented to a stop here for a look. Not a quick stop by any means. I had worked out a potential location prior to leaving for the trip and indeed my calculated coordinates were within 10m of the actual cache, but it took me a lot of hunting before I actually found the cache hide. **Total find count: 719**

One final day in and about Canberra for the Clear Water Mega. With an aim for regular and large caches, we set off north to after targetting all other directions previously. Before turning around for a highly favourited cache, and an interesting concept mystery cache.

I seemed to have the initial altitude wrong. After walking in ever expanding circles, I finally saw something that could possibly be the cache. With the cache found, legals completed, replaced as found.

Found with gwd.aussie while in Canberra/Queanbeyan for the Clear Waters Mega. With so many caches in the area and only 6 days we both had a list of caches we hoped to get. This one on my list filling a gap in my Hidden Month Calendar.

Found this unloved cache on Good Friday while attending the Clear Waters Mega event at Queanbeyan.

Today I teamed up with Budgietas and leafotwind to find a varied selection of unknown caches, multis, traditionals, wherigos and letterbox hybrids that we had targeted.

Once again were were fortunate to have some great weather for it.

Thanks bubble & squeak for the puzzle and the cache.

Found this cache during an epic three days at the mega event in clearwaters.

TFTC and placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Found many of these in the company of Leafotwind and e.gregory1

Was quite happy with my coordinates I worked out. I was 22 metres from the cache. Not too bad!

I had two possible answers for this geocache and a line of sight in-between the two. So started from the parking spot nearby and made our way up the hill searching and searching for about 15 minutes. Turns out I should of checked my altitude in the real world, instead of trusting my solving abilities. Because we were searching wayyyy to high up! Oops!

So once I got a tool on my phone working, and we walked to the right altitude, I soon spotted the hide! Wow, we must of walked straight past it on our way up! Turns out my coords weren't tooooo far off, just the incorrect altitude stung me!

Thanks bubble & squeak, really enjoyed this one Smile

Found on a nice, quick caching run around various places in South Canberra before work. This cache was one that I was very proud in finding today! I've procrastinated for years about attempting this one in the real world, with fear that my theory of solving would be a waste of time. But today I decided to take the plunge and have a go. And soon enough, I found the cairn and was jumping up and down with excitement - geocaching is a special thing! And yep, while signing the log, I too noticed that it all lines up indeed! TNLNSL. TFTC B&S - a favourite point for sure!

I started a new job today, with my new workplace loitering underneath a question mark. It was a good day and the new job looks very promising so what better way to round off the day than turning a question mark into a smiley?
I did some impressive mathematics and then wandered up the hill to where the dots line up and found myself a cache. Nice. Thanks, Bubble & Squeak! Big Grin

I spent another after work, on the way home, jaunt around Red Hill today. After todays shenanigans with high winds on Lake Burley Griffin I am surprised I have the energy, but there are so many solved, yet not found, caches around up here that I somehow mustered the desire to come up even in my exhausted state.

I almost left Red Hill again with out having a look for this one... I kind of knew the area but didnt have coords so I hadnt changed them in the App... but never mind, I remembered this time and managed to find the cache in just a few minutes.... was very happy when I sighted the obvious hide from 10 metres away. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for so long!

I've had a number of puzzles solved on Red Hill for quite a while now however never ventured over to collect them. I had planned for a full day wandering around Red Hill today utilising my RDO however after waking up with a massive migraine this morning, I promptly returned to bed.

I ended up feeling a bit better after lunch so decided to go for a wander, slow but managed a few finds.

I've had this one on the solved pile for a while however hadn't made it over this way to make the find. Tonight I had done a few puzzles, a multi and a trad and thought why not, im here lets have a look. Crawled under a fence and wandered upto where I had GZ calculated. Put the GPS away and began looking around and soon had cache in hand. Unfortunately, the cache container is suffering to the elements and has cracked in a number of locations (CO has been notified). Log signed and cache rehidden.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache placement Bubble & Squeak

Spent the arvo completing about 6 mulis/ puzzles that I had been working on.

I had looked at this some months ago and concluded that it was somewhere about half way up Anzac Avenue. To-day looking at the puzzle again I reread the entire description this time and came to a different conclusion. Parked nearby and walked way about 40 metres past it. When realizing this descended lining up all the angles and carefully checking and then noticing the out of character pile. Great fun thses and worth a fav. TFTC.

Well Cancon is on... so I must be in Canberra caching with AngelG27, while Finalf29 wargames! This was my second day of caching and it was a mixed bag of puzzles, earthcaches, traditionals and a multi... all with the fantastic company of AngelG27. Finalf29 was feeling a little left out so I book ended the day with two caches with him as well. So overall I got twelve for the day...woohoo!

This was my third for the day. I noticed this puzzle on an AngelG27 list. With a bit of faffing around it could be solved crunching numbers, but I noticed a way more simplistic method. When we parked for a field attempt, AngelG27 needed a little encouragement to forget her technology and trust her geosenses...we stayed focused and were soon right on point. Great puzzle. Favourite point from me. Thanks

I had been contemplating this puzzle for a while - not that I wanted to solve it the proper way, but how I might be able to complete it as a field puzzle. This weekend was the perfect opportunity as my friend HappyUke was paying us a visit, and also noticed this puzzle could be done by field work.

So this morning, we parked at a likely location and with two different tools in hand, headed off in the reserve. It did not take long before we found something very suspicious that matched the settings on the tools! We double checked the logs to make sure we found the right cache - yep, this was it!

Another cache done that I had long wanted to do - yay! Thanks bubble & squeak for the fun puzzle - glad there were a couple of ways to complete it!

Sunday 1 January 2017 - a warm muggy overcast Summer's afternoon in the high 20s and the occasional strong winds finding just 2 of 3 caches. Rode my push bike from Belconnen over 25+ kms to find just two caches on the hill - one traditional and one mystery. Knowing the altitude of the cache I just assumed that I had to ride to the top. Got to the top then checked the altitude realising that the cache was closer to the bottom Smile) Loved the ride down the hill - lol. Loved the concept, can't believe the view even at 647m - worth a favourite point. Thx p2p. TFTC bubble & squeak.

#6068 - 11:40; This is one of those caches that I'd never quite gotten around to finding, until today. I was out and about and decided that as I was passing close by I'd give it a whirl. Parked pretty close to where I thought GZ might be and made my way up. Lined things up, then re-read the description. Picked up on a small but important point and soon spotted the hide and had cache in hand. A favourite for the concept. TFTC bubble & squeak Cool

We had planned a nice long day of caching today, but after doing a few "mop up" finds on the way, decided that were feeling a bit too lazy, so only knocked over 6 on our list before heading back home to our pyjamas and movies!

Chris solved this one a little while ago, but wasn't sure if he had exactly the right spot. Turns out he did! A fun puzzle and a good sized cache. Left some goodies, took nothing. TFTC! Smile

During lunchtime, I looked for a cache that I could get in the afternoon with geohound - this was it. I decided to find the cache location using Field work.

After work, I drove to a nearby parking spot. Geohound and I headed into the parkland. We were soon at what I thought would be a likely spot. Geohound went about his business - sniffing, rolling, sending pee-mails, etc., while I located the GZ. Soon had container in hand and log signed. Container is in good condition. A nice spot to be. Geohound even found a worthy bone!! TFTC

After a recent failed attempt, we rethought our approach to this one and by keeping it a bit simpler than my original approach, Pagan managed to come up with a much better GZ. Today I wanted to test out that theory and after a bit of a hunt, had the cache in hand. In hindsight this would have been perfect to do as a field puzzle, and would have made things a bit less complicated. Occam's razor, huh. Thanks bubble & squeak Big Grin

Managed to find just by having a small search of the area identified by hint and logs, no coordinates or altitude was needed. Tftc

No luck today. I thought my physics skills were easily sufficient to tackle this cache but obviously not! Will hand over to Pagan to see what he comes up with. I spent a while looking at the suggested elevation, even found a few objects that matched the hint, but couldn't make the find today. 'Til next time.

Nice riddle! Could solve and log it during my short visit in Canberra!
Thanks for hiding and caring this interesting cache!

OK, if this was a science lesson I can tell you as an ex science teacher that this is just the type of thing that helps get the interest of young students and curious adults. Congratulations to bubble & squeak for that.[^][^][^]
Of course whether a 'large magnifying glass' would focus on the ground at Red Hill would depend on it having the appropriate focal length! Perhaps a laser beam would be easier?
I used the given coordinates and Google Earth to create a straight line between the Mt Ainslie beacon and the Parliament house flagpole all the way to Red Hill. I then generated an altitude plot and found exactly where that line contacted the ground at the given altitude of 647 metres above sea level. Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin I took these coordinates and used them to seek out the cache.
At my calculated coordinates it became clear that I had to adjust the Height to 657 meters (including the meter above ground you may be holding the GPS! ( this was confirmed by using my Garmin etrex 30 and Google Earth altitude plot based on the actual position of the cache) This resulted in about thirty metres discrepancy![:o)]
But heck, it is still practically a drive-by, except for the fence!
Thanks For The Cache bubble & squeak, this gets a Favourite from me.CoolCoolCool

I lined up the coordinates in Google and then set out to find this. Once near GZ with a bit of visual alignment it was a quick find, which surprised me, as I had expected to wander over the mountain side. A fun cache that was different. A favourite tick from me. TFTC bubble & squeak.

What a great idea! We would have located it much quicker if I had taken notice that
an elevation was given. On returning home, I checked on Google Earth, and the given
elevation would have been of great help. Red Face
Cache actually found by an accompanying friend. Just got in before the rain started.

Thanks for the chance

Great idea for GZ. I loved solving this one! Although I tripped over a few logs and rocks while I wasn't watching where I was stepping. Sweet container too, all safe and sound (if a bit spidery). thanks for the cache bubble & squeak

After recently securing "Mirror Image", we decided to tackle "Focal Point" another bubble and squeak special.
It was way too long that we had looked at these two caches and put them into the too-hard-physics basket.
With Spring in the air, and a couple of useful, if slightly cryptic comments regarding physics from our geo-teen son, we put together a possible location for GZ.
Today we made the walk to GZ. I'm not sure we arrived by the easiest path way- in fact there was no pathway, but we kept wandering until we found the spot that fit our calculations.
Within a couple of minutes, we could see just what we were looking for, and soon had the log signed and were on our way again.
Thanks bubble and squeak for giving the old grey cells a good workout, and also thanks for the great walk in a really lovely location, that we have come to know well over the last couple of years,

Domsky

#1090 A lovely lunchtime walk from the office at Forrest. This cache was unique as I did not need to use my GPSr to locate it. I just walked up to the spot where I thought it should be, looked about for a small pile of rocks and there it was. I didn't need to climb over any fences. TFTC B&S.

Well, that was easy!!

Well it was after I spent hours searching the internet for heights, doing pages of high school maths, and coordinate transformations and finally coming up with a possible but very unlikely location. In my defence, we live in Perth and we are were coming to Canberra for a quick trip to see a concert being performed and organised by my son (et al) with 50 trombones. I thought if I had exact coords I could do a quick grab. After doing the calcs with estimated heights I took a look at the location and knew it was wrong but I also knew where it had to be. Well, sort of. As it turns out the map I was using had a different height datum but it was close and on the day it only took a few minutes to find the cache.

But, there was a much easier way - with no calcs, research, or maps involved. It's obvious really ...

I'm so ashamed. ;-(

Visiting Canberra from Sydney for Mothers Day weekend. A bit of a tradition in the Tyreless household. We were staying nearby in Forrest.

A clear windy morning. I parked up top and walked down through the bush. Saw a roo or two on the way to GZ and a mob of 30 hopped by laconically as I walked back to the car through the mostly open bush.

Thanks bubble & squeak. The cache is in good shape. Found at 10:44 am.

#300. 25 days in a row.

I seriously thought I'd found this one earlier but not logged it, but I was unable to find out a date so I decided to redo it. I definitely knew which area it was, but when I got to GZ the cache container didn't look at all familiar, so maybe I never got it earlier. Still, I have it now and it brings up my 300th find.

We rally enjoyed solving this puzzle. Very creative. Once in the right area the altitude provided proved very helpful as we had overshot the cache. A favourite point from us as well.

Cool idea for a cache. Especially on two prominent Canberra landmarks. Mr and Mrs Griffin would be proud. Thanks

One problem though. Log is very very wet.

I wonder if Burley-Griffin had this cache in mind when planning the city? Have to confess I did this the old fashioned way, no gps and not even a magnifying glass! (couldn't figure out how to get coordinates on the computer). Really cool cache though, thanks bubble & squeak!

576 Clever idea. A superb fairy wren greeted me while a large spider acted as cache guardian. Shortly after this I saw a fox just 50 metres away. Second mystery on a run of five in the area. TFTC!

I had solved this one a LONG time ago and today came out here to grab the cache. When you get to GZ, you can really appreciate the precision required for this one. A great puzzle although the contents of the container were slightly damp. Also, I got a nice little fright from a not so little critter on the container when I picked it up. Thanks bubble & squeak for the comedy, the horror and (romance?) the quick find at GZ.
