As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Someone got to know Laurie a bit too well... Found him scattered across the ground - possibly muggled. I'll repair and replace him nearby (but not in the original spot)

On our way to deliver a Fowlers Preserving kit, bottles etc. in the Dunolly area so we thought we do a bit of hunting. Approached from Tarnagulla and exited via Painswick. A nice short drive by with a well stocked cache.

Particularly wanted to get this one as my late fathers name was Laurie.
Thanks for the cache

In one way out the other, nice little drive by, at least TOMTOM told us that any ways. Also lost 4wd capability due to wet weather, but ya get that.

Poor old Laurie!! If it wasn't for this cache and the sign on the site, this old siding on this old branch line between Dunolly and Inglewood (good to see its still used though) would be like so many other old sidings and branch lines, forgotten. But Laurie lives in on for us to visit.
Dropped in on my way home from a site visit in Murtoa. Great opputunity to break the trip, get off the highway and stretch my legs with a stroll through the bush. Took a reccy around the site to see if I spot any remnant fabric. Apart from what could have been a raised roadway to the siding, nada. None the less I find locations like this fascinating. Thanks Enzyme2000 for introducing Laurie to me.

It took quite a bit of finding to make my way into this cache. Poor old TomTom didn't have much of an idea and I drove for a few kilometres through overgrown muddy tracks. Of course upon leaving I found a convenient road that took me straight on to bitumen, don't you kick yourself when that happens?! The cache was in good nick and I managed to pause to take a look around the old station.
Thanks for highlighting this great old spot,

We didn't think we would find this, but got to it between rainstorms. Nice to get off the beaten track. Not accustomed to this area, but easy to find. TFTC
Went back as promised and replaced container. Left a Smiley fridge magnet from the Reject Shop.
Nice'n'easy, but unfortunately full of water. Top of container UV damaged and is disintegrating badly. Wiped the box out with hanky and covered as best I could. If we get the chance to go into that area in the future, will replace container.
Nice remote spot and hard to imagine as a busy railway station.

Well this one was a quick find today, the cache was out in the open the lid still broken and now with some water, but, remarkable still in good condition. It certainly is an interesting spot, amazing to see how time changes everything. I will be going past again in a few days time and will endeavor to replace the container. TFTC. TNLN.
1818. Two full days without caching (there's none around Horsham) this was a welcome return to caching. A bit more off road stuff and a quick find at the end.
TFTC and a break from the caching wilderness.

Found on our trip to Swan Hill. The track in from the west was in good shape. Its hard to imagine a railway station in such a now deserted area. Took Geocoin left nil. The cache lid was broken and will need replacing before winter rains ever come here SL TFTC
En route Adelaide to Bendigo
I always like to grab a couple of caches on a trip like this and this was a great break from the drive.
Track in was showing some recent storm damage, wash aways, fallen branches etc. There was a rain storm in Adelaide last night too.

Found this one while driving to a work site.
I wonder what this would have looked like when the station was still around. Kind of sad to just see the sign.

This is one of those out of the way caches that allow you to sit back with no fear of muggles any minute and enjoy the surrounds. Any cache that is near a railway line wins me over. Thanks enzyme2000 for bringing me here.
found this after a very long drive bush. there is an easy way!! took 4 stubbies, left dog
4 stubbies found this one just on dark. Any later and it would have been another visit. Wow the things you find doing this geocaching...really interesting, didnt know it was here.
Took wine charm left Harry Potter stickers.

I dropped by to pay Laurie a visit to make sure that everything was still in place. It looks like the workers have done some maintenance of the railway track some distance from the cache. I'm happy to say that the cache and Laurie have both remained unaffected by the disruption (any I'm almost certain that they're looking forward to seeing you soon)
We would have liked to get to know Laurie, but unfortunately when we got there there were many orange coated figures all around the place. The railway is having work done on it and the camp is right near the cache position. We couldn't even cross the line so are not sure if they are parking all over where the cache would be or if it is still safe. Many yellow vehicles too. I hope it hasn't been bulldozed.
I enjoy these caches a long way from anywhere but well and truly in Australia. The cache was an easy find, the spot very peaceful, and Laurie a bit odd out here. thanks Enzyme2000 for a cache in a great spot.

Having been a regular visitor to Tarnagulla over the last 8 weeks, helping out with a Dance for Health program arranged by the Wedderburn Hospital, and with “Laurie†situated just down the road, we felt we should pay “him†a visit as this was the last day we would be so near to this cache! We are pleased to report “he†is in good condition albeit a little lonely, and probably appreciated the visit!

It wasn't until I located the cache that I noticed the railway station sign.
Really pleased to finally complete this one as I had kept thinking it was at Lauriston. Great spot on our way to........ well nowhere nearby really - the GPSr map was really tiny and it looked close to where we were going. TNLN except TB Bluey the Frog. TFTC
Found along with Ohbeeone and princess after a drive in the bush along some tracks, think you need a 4 wheel drive too from the approach we did. Saw a roo and a rabbit and finally Laurie at 11.40am. Did a bit of prospecting as well although caches are much easier! Dropped off Bluey the Frog cos he wasn't helping us find gold, hopefully he can hitch a ride towards Adelaide. thanks Enzyme 2000.
Found today accompanied by Penndragons,we were in the area prospecting but this proved much easier to find, removed Lighter, left Yowie. Thanks Enzyme2000.
Dropped in on our way to hide a cache, really interesting spot must find out more about laurie.

Found at 10.05am GAFF1. We approached from the south initially as we were travelling from Maryborough towing our caravan. Couldn't find a suitable track from that end, so we skirted the whole area and found Evans Rd which took us right there. A lovely clear morning with no one around. Thanks Enzyme2000 for finding this place for us to explore. Took: Animal eraser, Left: Wine charm.
Found @ 15:40, a bit off the beaten track but what a great area for bush camp, maybe a couple of clicks from here.

Travelling to Bendigo after the Victorian End of year get together. Even though it was dark we decided to try our luck with this one as we were passing anyway. We were rewarded with an easy find of a very well stocked cache at 9.35pm

Found by Mary & David at 0925. Laurie has seen better days, but it was a most enjoyable meeting all the same. A fascinating area that was obviously prosperous and busy then. Took goat, left little paper hole punch. Our thanks to Enzyme2000.

We would like to know why Laurie was here in the first place and what caused his demise. Being situated within a farming area, perhaps this was a pickup point for some of the produce! We will attempt to follow up with some enquiries.
Thanks Enzyme2000 for revealing this mystery.
Being Star Trek fans we took a Klingon Key Tag as a memento and left a Mondo Figurine.
