Had an old printout for this and didn't know it was still disabled, as we could have finished all the peninsula caches today
Maybe it'll be up again before the event [?]

Went to replace the notebook and found that it was in a different place. Looks as though someone has found it but luckily just left it in different spot. Will find a new place for it soon.
This cache needs a logbook (and pencil?) as there is none in the cache. Left a piece of paper to prove that I was there.
Found it on the ground with contents scattered around. Rehid in probable spot. Went to do this cache earlier in the day. Suspect another cacher went ahead dispite muggles all around. TNLNSL TFTC
Found today, out with my bro HELIRC who is here for Xmas so was nice to get a couple of local caches that I had not done either. Cheers Revhead TNLNSL
Found today, out with my bro RevHead. Easy find and another one for the books. Thanks

After getting rained on at our previous stop, we drove right up to this spot. Found easily, nice hide.

First one for the day, the cache site was a busey place we were looking through the goodies when the canoegals showed up.(Think they have it logged on the wrong day?)

Our third cache, ably supported by our new friends canoegals who showed us the ropes.
Third find of the day, had to wait on another group of cachers. Unfortunately didn't have a paper clip, left a Canada Pin instead. Canoegals, Winnipeg, Canada 13,000kms from home!
Stopped off for lunch and thought I'd go looking for this one afterwards. I was suprised to find it a few metres away when I thought it was much much further. Fun find for a first one for the wife and little one.
Added to the chain. Thanks for the fun

Been here a few times now, but not to this particular spot. Thanks for the hide. For a minute, thought we might be able to find our first cache without leaving the car!! TNLN SL

Beautiful day and decided to head north for a walk around one of the regional parks. Started and ended our walk not far from the cache. Found cache at the end of the trek. Great spot. Sorry had no paper clip to add to the chain. Didn't realise it was a theme cache.
TNLN thanks for the cache.

Yay! Our 3rd of the day. Learnt that we should read instructions fully before leaving home and forgot to bring any paperclips. However a search of the car brought forth a shining one in the glove compartment. But! Somehow in the delight of discovery, dropped it in undergrowth and it disappeared forever. So had to draw one in the log book instead. Sorry - but thank for the cache. Lovely place to visit.
Got to this 1 from Salty soldier as per sugestion. Great walk through this very special area.

Caching our way through NZ and stopped to grabbed this one. With it being Christmas Day and all there were muggles everywhere enjoying a beautiful day. Visiting from Utah, U.S.A. Thanks for the fun! Bean Stompers
Easy find on what is becoming a pretty warm day. Still had to be careful as there was quite a bit of activity in the area. Grabbed our first Geocoin Thanks
Yay - Our first find of the day. Really enjoyed visting this area. I was accompanied by my friends who haven't tried caching before, and they really liked it. Thanks. Left a geocoin.
12.50pm. Approached this cache from the nearby Tradesmans Entrance (GCR0NZ) and enjoyed the stroll along the beach. It was a lovely day for it. Not too hard to find. Managed to add a pink and a yellow to the collection.

1700 We introduced friends to geocaching today and we all had fun. We added two red, 1 green and a silver paper clip.
Last cache of the day. Fortunately the density of day-trippers was on the wane, so I could pursue my apparently nefarious activity in the undergrowth without causing alarm. The first circumnavigation of the objective and probing at various levels proved to be unsuccessful. Made another sweep of the general area to allow ‘trekky’ to decide the optimum location. Yes the original objective was confirmed. Deeper and more vigorous probing met with sweet success.

This is the ideal time to come to the caches in the middle of popular weekend haunts. It's Wednesday morning at 0800. 2nd for this morning.
A nice and easy one though the tree did stab me with one of its branches and made me leak quite profusely. Never mind, back to the car for tissues.
TNLNSL
Cheers 4 the cache.

Wasn't having much luck with finding other caches in the area due to the amount of people out making the most of the sunshine! A least this was a quick find. TNLNSL
Found it after much walking in rain sodden grass after a very wet Labour Day Saturday morning. Hidden very nicely.

A quick find for us. Nice sheltered spot out of the cold wind after braving the cache at the top of the nearby hill.
Thanks. TNLN

Having just found Bridge to Nowhere I moved on to find this my 499th find. There was no muggle trouble here just one other empty car.
I strolled along to the cache site and soon had it in hand.
When I got back to the vehicle I was hooking up the GPSr to the car power when a Park Ranger stopped alongside and came over. He was warning visitors that a helicopter was due to start spraying for Saltmarsh Mosquitos in just a few minutes.
He spotted the GPSr and commented on it being a mapping unit.
Next he floored me by asking if the icon showing was for buried treasure or a geocache?
It turned out I was talking to Kiwi Adventurer. What a pleasant surprise.
He had found Bridge to Nowhere the day before but had not been aware of the Chain Gang so I haned him the print out.

First to find! I think the petrol prices are keeping the usual FTF suspects from driving this far.
Added a purple paper clip to the chain, took nothing.
Easy find, and a pleasant stroll, thanks the Golfers.
