A walk close to GZ and I was wondering why the 2.5T rating. Ok. 50m to GZ I now begin to see why the rating. Waist high grass with hidden logs and thorny bushes. At one point Im crawling under and through vines to access the hiding place. A few scratches later I vowed not to question ratings until I had found the caches. With cache in hand and a few scratches it was time to copy the coordinates and get out of there before the heat set in.Thanks for the cache.
*** draft log for stats tracking, more later ***GCQGDG Oxley - PonyMystery Regular30 Jun 2024T10:02:25 AESTTFTC Crew 153Have to admit Im not that keen on wading through waist high Aussie grass with spiderwebs from all the trees catching me. After spotting the hint object I had to backtrack and approach from the other side. Soggy cache contents could do with some CO love, next sets of coords are hard to make out. Just managed my initials on the least soggy log. ETA CO was quick to respond with the coords (), and thinks I found an old container.
Being a former president (30 years ago) of Corinda Horse & Pony Club (and former owner of 39 Rinora Street), this cache was high on my target list. Our association with the pony club dates back to its inception over 40 years ago. As neighbours of the club, we supplied water for the troughs, and generally provided support for various activities, adventures, calamities and the like. I now reside in Canada, but drop by the CHPC on each visit to Oz. What a thrill to see the ongoing progress here. The walking track around the perimeter is a perfect touch. As with previous loggers, fivegk and I enjoyed our walk along the trackand there the enjoyment ended, as we bushwhacked off track to GZCRIKEY!!! QUEL WEEDS!!Miraculously, we made it to GZ, beating through the tall grass, to frighten snakes. Signed what is left of the logwish Id had extra paper to add, as the log is wet mush, as is the recent replacement log. Perhaps the next finder can add a new log sheet. Thanks for bringing us here today!
It was a pleasant walk toward GZ with karen rinora today. That is, until the last 45m or so lol. We bushwhacked our way in, on the lookout for snakes and other assorted wildlife. It didnt take long to track down the container once we got to GZ, and we were glad to see it was still in place. Thanks for the fun!
After reading the past few logs, I was a little apprehensive for the trek into this cache, and for the majority of the walk, it was pleasant along the track. I then left the track through the grass, and there were a few ferocious thorns within a few metres of GZ that can easily be navigated, it was otherwise ok. The cache was a reasonably quick find, and the cache container was in good shape. I added my name to the new logbook safe in a protective bag, and then read the clues as best as I could from the old waterlogged logbook. One of the clues was to the former/archived [Oxley - Wheelstanders](https://coord.info/GCQGDJ), and I pondered whether that cache had indeed been swallowed by construction back in 2017. I attracted a mosquito as I was signing the logbook, which hurried me along to escape as promptly as I arrived. Thanks [Crew 153](https://coord.info/PRPH14) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 04/2006 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.----------Today, following the regular Saturday morning parkrun and gymnastics, I escaped for a few hours to geocache the areas around Chelmer, Oxley, and Darra. I've enjoyed travelling around these suburbs in the past, and I targeted the *Oxley* series of WaterWays of Brisbane, and the highly Favourited geocaches by [stairman1](https://coord.info/PR4R27Z). As the heat and fatigue started to get the better of me, I ended my outing with a naughty McHappy Day burger and a few geocaches in Darra, before returning home in the early afternoon.
We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Loving our time around Brisbane and around the area. Today we just grabbed a few around the area we were staying, while on the scooter.
It was an easy scooter up until the last little bit, where I had to leave the track and make my way through the long grass to GZ. After a bit of a search, the container was found. Clues are difficult to read but hopefully will be helpful, for next few hides.
Thanks Crew 153 for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

I had a couple of hours free this afternoon and decided on a wander through the inner west to Oxley collecting a few long-solved puzzles and other interesting caches.
I have collected a few from this series, but still have a long way to go. Perhaps this year! Having made a find at the end of the access road, I debated how much light I had and whether or not I should attempt this one. As I made the walk to this one, I chastised myself forhaving these lazy thoughts.
At the appropriate point, I left the trail and braved the tall grass and then nasty thorns to make the find here. The original logbook and the clue are wet, so I signed the newer logsheet. I took a photo of the clue - hopefully I can forensically reconstruct the coordinates for the next two in the series.
This is a nice spot - enjoyed my walk here this afternoon. Thanks Crew153

I came here 5 years ago and took a photograph of the coordinates but my phone was stolen shortly after and I no longer have the photo. With Wheelstanders gone and Mulberry proving hard to find, I wanted to recheck the coordinates so I came back and found this one again today. It’s still a thorny pain to get to and the clues are still quite hard to read but I think I have been looking in the wrong spot for Mulberry so it was worth coming back to check. I’m hoping I can continue the series now.
Spending the morning with Peppa who was giving us a tour of his local area. We let him lead the way, I only disappointed him a few times by having already found some of the ones he was heading to…maybe that’s why he seemed to find every bump in the road.
When we pulled up at the parking I realised that I’d been here before, but I didn’t know this cache was down here then. Peppa lead the way but he initially had us going the wrong way! Once back on track it wasn’t too long before we reached GZ. There were a few spiky plants/vines to avoid but we found the cache in the likely location.
I signed the new log, the old log is saturated. The next coords are getting pretty difficult to read due to the influx of water. Tftc Crew153

Having found the first in the series almost 3 years ago, I felt it was definitely time to take a run at the rest of them.
A pleasant flat walk to this cache that has definitely been underwater during the floods. The contents of the container are all wet so I have added a new log sheet in a ziplock bag to assist future finders. TFTC

This was the last cache we could do for the day as we couldn't read the co-ords to take us further along the series. We had enjoyed our paddle and ended up doing about 17kms all up. We also collected some plastic off the trees and picked up plastic bottles as we paddled along. A great day to be out on the water. Thanks Crew153 for the fun. We will have to return another day to pick up some more.
Realised I hadn't logged this find yet! Continuing the series soon and enjoying it a lot. Thanks for placing
I haven’t been in grass like this for a while! On our way out we found an easier route (of course lol).
Thanks for the cache and series.

Caching today with RoddyC (designated driver) snickersallan and GS1947 aiming at some oldies for a challenge.
I had found this cache 6 years ago and knew what we were in for and had said I woukd take the secators in with me then promptly forget them. I do think that it was a little easier to get into this time.
Thank you for keeping this series going.

Lovely day out in the local area with geo friends hatzofff, RoddyC and grannysmith1947.
Pleasant walk to reach GZ where we ended up having to fossick for our bandaids after tripping into some nasty prickle vines hidden in the grass.
Nice tethered hide was found quickly, thanks CO.

Out on the Southside picking up a few target caches. Couldn't go past this one, have had the solved coords for a couple of years after visiting others in the series. Log book wet but took my stamp ok. On to the next!

Dropped by to grab the coordinates for the next two in the series. Both logbooks were quite wet, could use a replacement
This was tough terrain, I walked back and forth waiting for inspiration but then read a log and saw I had to take the plunge. I definitely would be reluctant (or more reluctant) if it was ssspring or sssummer. The co-ordinates got me to the cache, but the log book was sopping wet. I'll have to report it.
After making an early start today with Chamad and NayFee, we met up for breakfast with Triple Turmoil and started working on the Oxley series.
With the details obtained from the previous cache, we took quite a long and soggy walk to gz. The cache was quickly found, and details for the next couple of caches in the series were noted.
Thanks Crew 153 for bringing us here, and for the exercise, I have walked off that breakfast already!

Out with Chamad, Willis007 first thing this morning and TripleTurmoil joined us later on. We had an action packed day full of adventures. We walked through cemeteries, creeks, bushland, highways, you name it, we probably did it. The day started bright and early at the dead centre of town then we got started on the Oxley series which took us to many wonderful locations.
I do apologise for posting a generic log, I really enjoy finding caches, but when it comes to logging I suck at it, especially when I’ve found so many. We did 27 caches and at times they all merge into one.
I want to thank each and every CO for placing caches at these locations and for keeping them going.

After our breakfast stop we meet up with Triple Turmoil and our (Willis007, Nayfee and myself) plan to grab some of the Oxley series began. We started at Pamphlet, the next was canoe and then we continued to work our way through the series, grabbing details for the next caches. We signed the logs and caches as found we then continued onto the next in the series. We even grabbed a few others as we passed while on our travels in this series.
It’s always a fun day when the four of us get together, pranks, jokes, laughter and even some informative conversations. It’s all fair when the pranks get played on yours truly.
With 15 caches in this series and with the distance to be covered there was no way we were going to complete all in a day, but if we get half way I will be happy.
This one required a little walk and a wet walk through the scrub and some swamp land. But we found the cache nicely tied to a tree. the cache was full of water and the log was very wet. we managed to get it open and sign names as best as we could.

We're going on a bear hunt, we're going on a bear hunt.
I'm not scared. I'm not scared.
Oh, oh. What is that? A swamp.
A sticky squlechy swamp.
Can't go over it, can't go over it
We'll have to go through it.
Swish, squlech, swish squelch.
Nayfee, Chamad, Willis007 and I had a spare day. Perfect! Caching it is. During the week it was decided that we could make a start on the Oxley Series. This was a mission. But what is a caching day without scratches, mozzie bites and wet socks?

At first it was a pleasant walk along a track, then the last 40m was through head high grass! No geotrail and luckily no snakes on this warm summer’s day! Whipper snipper would have been handy . Took a tb and left a pen and swaps.
I always enjoy reading the logs of older caches.
Reading all the changes that have occured over time, various floods, vegetation overgrown, seeing other cachers i've found caches for or never solved puzzles for, or are just plain funny to read stories of.. I spend a good long time scrolling back through some solid geocaching history.
This cache i looked for when last in brisbane on long hiatus, three years back apparently. That time a monstrous python stopped my heart a moment and i backtracked to change underwear somewhere, leaving this series dangling..
Today i decided i'd ride the tredley over and sign my name in the logbook, taking note of the next two for future reference.
This was the third of three caches i found today on my forty two km ride.
After an absolute cracker of a cache at indro to break my whereigo virginity, i rolled down, then up to find an old 2003 cache from a shelter with a splendid view. After it, i thought Oxley Pony would end today nicely.
Not often i completely ignore caches planted everywhere to thread through for a target cache/s. I'm thankful i did, these three and my long ride made my day.
One more down.
Thanks crew_153 for the mystery cache!

Quickly spotted the hide the hardest part was getting in there safely. I read the previous logs and wore some jeans, a hoody, and some wrap around glasses, and boy was I happy I did. Avoided all the blood letting but had some close calls near my face.
Log signed and returned and heeded the advice to back out.

After a day of caching we had the coords and came back for this a day later, after a mozzie attack on the cycle we had to quick log and dash Tftc JEmpsen
My map to GZ showed a trail and there was kind of one but after all the rain the trail had been replaced by a sweet jungle. Thankfully the trail was dryer than a nose that’s just inhaled some chili flakes but the grass was long and we couldn’t see where we were stepping.
We made it all the way to where we had to turn off the jungle trail and stomped through some soggy ground. Luckily we weren’t here a week earlier because we would have needed togs to swim to GZ and I lost my summer body at the pub over 20 years ago.
Once we got close we were attacked by some spiky plants which also love the rain. One in particular was removed from my Christmas Card list when it drew blood. I thought plants were vegetarians and grew by photosynthesis or some other made up word so I was surprised to find they are meat eaters. Future finders may want to bring a machete, and a pint of spare blood. tftc

Sunday. A beautiful area here and after parking the geomobile, we decided to take a long walk. Both Que Sera and myself laughed when we realised we probably could have parked closer to GZ and had a slightly shorter walk, but then since Mr Garmin said we could park at the location we did park at and then walk straight through, it seemed like the logical choice at the time. Nope, you can’t walk straight through – you have to walk around! We didn’t mind though as it was a beautiful walk and yes, we saw several ponies. Saw an amazing geotrail right to GZ. It looked like the perfect trail with the long grass on either side. Lovely location and I wonder how earth the CO ever found this spot! Two TBs left for future finders.
This was the 4th of 18 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Crew 153***, for showing us this place.

Found with Quesera after a long lovely walk looking at the horses and approaching this from the wrong direction we found this one in amongst long grass. Thanks for placing this cache here for us to find.
What a beautiful spot this is and a fantastic walk. We took the longer way and enjoyed the horses. At gz it was Overgrown but after awhile i spotted the hide . This one will definitely never get muggled. We got the coords to next caches and headed off to the car. Thanks for this fun series.
I had started on this series a few years ago but darkness had derailed the train and I hadn't made it back till now. Found the track and trotted off to GZ but quailed when 20 metres away at the sight of the long grass. Once I'd taken the plunge into the greenery it wasn't as bad as it initially looked from the track until I was almost at GZ which had an arch of nastiness to impale the hasty and uncoordinated. I could see (and deeply appreciated!) the noble efforts of Team ARF in reducing the vines capacity for blood loss and gingerly entered the last few steps. I used the camera to do a snap check of whether anything was getting cosy with the cache before putting my hands in to retrieve it. Once I'd squiggled my name on it and returned it, I took advantage of ARFs experience and backed out of GZ with little damage to myself. Made sure I had a pic of the coords for the next in the series and they were plugged into the phone for another day. There were quite a few horses in the paddocks but none keen to come over and say hello as there was an electric fence around the perimeter.

Have a few oxley coords tucked away for when an opportunity presents itself. After checking out the sewer suduko ventured on to pet a pony. Spotted a few ponies in the paddock where they pretended to ignore me. Following the track around went stage right, right into the brambles.
The obvious way in was blocked with some nasty looking natural barb wire. Other approaches to said hide proved less attractive with more natural selection vines barring the way in. So with a stick, leveled off the barbs to sneak into the hide to uncover the cache. Managed to save some claret until I tried to turn around instead of just reversing back. All good with this cache, thanks for the series Crew 153.

I was caching with the geodaughter this afternoon, and although she was getting a bit sick of caching, she was very keen to come for a walk to gz with me, as there were horses to pat and photograph. We took a while to get to gz, letting her spend time with her favourite animals. Once we arrived, we were attacked by thorns of all sizes, one catching my girl near her eye, and another one on her back. Nature has really taken over here, so I would recommend NOT to take children near gz here, as they could come out considerably the worse for wear! I sent her back to a clear spot while I retrieved the container and signed the log, over some of the biggest thorns I've seen. Long sleeves are a good idea for this one! Tftc Crew 153
On I go to the next Oxley cache and boy did I work for this one. Found a track to lead me almost to GZ then about 10 - 15 Mtrs and Cobbler's Pegs attacked me along with the thorny growth. I could see where I was heading but didn't know how to get there. I then thought its now or never as I leant over the thorns to reach where the cache was. I thought I would puncture one of my prized possession but luckily I survived with no injury there but my legs and arms did get some pokes and scratches. Signed the log and replaced cache as found. Out of there before I loose more blood. TFTC
Travelled down to Brissy from Toowoomba with Eskies5 to gather a few solved puzzles. I have just a few Oxley puzzles to go and being in the area we decided to grab this one as our fourth cache for today. A search that saw Eskies5 go one way and me the other. Whilst Eskies5 spotted the puzzle she couldn't quiet reach from where she was. I was able to grab it and pass it on to her to sign the log. TFTC Crew 153
An early morning drive down the range from Toowoomba with Kestal so she could tick off the last few caches required for a challenge...nice little walk ending in two geotrails. We each picked one but mine ended meters from GZ with a thorny barrier. Kestal made the retrieval and passed me the log to sign. TFTC Crew 153.
Found by Mary & David with GeoJo, at 1455. A bit of a hike for this one. Wild argeratum is perhaps a weed here? Had to dodge a few thorns to reach the container, then reverse our path back to the car park. Our thanks to Crew 153.
Followed the geotrail to he clearing and then fortunately able to see the container from afar. Watch out for lots of sharp pointy plants! Tftc
After doing some shopping at Indooroopilly SC, I come home this way and pick up a few caches along the way.
The last time I was here, I found the previous Oxley series caches and thought this one would be nice to get.
Had to change my entry point as there was someone at the Pony Club, so moved to the nearby park where there was a lovely path for me to follow.
30m from GZ and I had to leave the nice path to venture into the cobblers pegs and singapore daisy to search for this one.
Pointer sent me over to the big bush of singapore daisy and there I spied the cache just waiting for me. Had to avoid the spiky asparagus fern that is almost tree thickness.
SL then returned as found. Coords for next caches noted.
TFTC Crew 153 for another interesting location and aptly named cache.

A bit of a stroll for this cache, we headed around and along until we had to head off trail. And soon we saw the cache dangling like a carrot in front of us.
But what a spot to crawl into! I chose to accept the mission, or was pushed, I can't remember which, and while I extracted the logbook and took the information, Wombles&Co read a log or two mentioning a snake guardian! Gahh thanks for reading that out now while I'm under here!
But no snake was spotted and I soon had cache back in place and we were navigating ourselves out from the thorny plants here. Sending us into thorny spaces! And we always thought the CO was a lovely gentleman.
Thanks for the cache Crew 153.

But no snake was spotted and I soon had cache back in place and we were navigating ourselves out from the thorny plants here. Sending us into thorny spaces! And we always thought the CO was a lovely gentleman.
Thanks for the cache Crew 153.
Nyssaflutterby, 1minniemoo and I had planned a hike for today, but my bad knee is playing up so we postponed that walk again and made a new plan which involved as many puzzles as we could get.
So this was our first cache for the day.
This was such a nice place to walk... well it was until the last 30-40m anyway!!

Out and about on this side of town with 1MinnieMoo and wombles creating a few new smileys for our maps.
After a lovely stroll to GZ the beasty was discovered without any hassle. Happy that 1MM was in the lead and had the fun job of retrieving the container, some nasty thorns around here.

After collecting clues for this one and another which is currently disabled, we decided we really needed to find this one so that we could collect the next clues and make our way to another if possible in this series.
We parked and had a lovely walk close to GZ. At this point, it was time to get out the snake sticks and make lots of noise as we worked away further into the bushland. Our compass lead us right to GZ, and we soon had the geocache in our hands. We were glad to find this one as we need the clues in order to move forward to the next one. All good here, and we are enjoying the series.
Thanks

Alright this one was not fun to get too. Came out with many scratches. Would recommend a machete and long pants.

On my way in here today, came across a reaally super-big-oh-hot-damn-thats-a-really-big-effin- snake snake, so er.. decided to leave it for another day. Drat.
On a day off and with an hour or two spare I thought I'd drop by and visit this cache since there had been some CO related gardening and reports of short grass . I agree the walk here was beautiful, very serene surrounds and lots of animals to say hello to. At GZ I was pleased to see flattened ground and only a few remaining thorns to guard the cache which was very easily spotted on approach. Very pleased to have a smilie for this cache. Tftc
I love the stroll in to this cache.
Today I had to replace the coordinates for the next caches so I brought along cutters and trimmed back the thorns a bit. There was no vines here when I placed the cache back in '05. Now they provide great cover for the cache. I left it hanging as that should help to keep the contents dry. I put a new log book in to it as well.
Currently the grass for the[^] last 40m is very short but that could change rapidly if we get rain.

The walk out was lovely. Then we saw where we had to go and baulked a bit. In we trudged through the grass and cobblers pegs. We wandered up and down the creek until we finally saw the cache, but it was right under a very thorny vine. Lucky I had a mini-Cat with me who could crawl under and get to the cache. Log was very wet but I was able to sign it. Cardboard has gone mouldy so the next set of co-ordinates were difficult to read. Mini-Cat gives this one a fav for the adventure we had here this afternoon. TFTC!
Mrs Just a Trifle was out for a day of caching fun with barbbowman and Raynersinoz. We had decided to head over to the other side of town to see what adventures we could find
We managed to locate the cache easily enough and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way
Thank you Crew 153 for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Thursday fun day is here again and so is Mrs JAT back from her FNQ holiday, so it's the 3 girls (Rio, bb and Mrs JAT) out and about on the dark side today
Our last cache for the day and a continuation of my Oxley adventures. I began this series nearly two years ago, so it's probably time to start collecting some more of the caches to try and get it finished . The walk to the cache was quite nice, but OMG there were lots of thorns at GZ! bb took one for the team and delicately wiggled her way over to the tethered cache container. A few scratches and scrapes later, we had the log signed. The log book is mouldy and the coords of the next two Oxleys are difficult to read, so it would be lovely if you could go visit this one and give the logbook a refresh. TFTC Crew 153

Rocked up to give this one a go after doing the Oxley Bowl and didn't even know there was a little golf course around here, lots of families were getting into it there today but not us, we were out to hunt caches. We started our trek to get closer to our destination, wasn't sure how the little fella would hold up but he was a trooper and ODST 501 was soldiering on as well. Eventually we came to where we needed to be and I went through to see if I could find the cache hide. I had read what I was after before going in this time so I had an idea where I needed to be but must of just been the day for the satellites to gang up on me today and play pranks to send me where I shouldn't. Read a couple of logs that proved helpful and before long I found what I was looking for but had a few thorny obstacles in my way. After a few scratches later I retrieved the cache, signed the log, wrote down some more co-ordinates and returned it back to its location. TFTC.
7/1/17, 3:42 pm Find #1649
After finding another puzzle nearby, I took a nice stroll along to this one.
Before I knew it I was 40m away from GZ but dismayed to find 40m of long grass in front of me. I bit the bullet and waded in, smacking the ground in front of me with a stick as I went.
Once in there I looked around for the stump mentioned in the hint but could not see one anywhere. After reading a few logs, I had a closer look and discovered it completely swamped by thorny bushes that looked as if they were made of razor wire.
Using my stick to beat down the low thorny vines, I somehow managed to crawl in under the higher thorny vines and reach the cache after almost poking my eyes out on some more well placed thorns. Getting out was no less of a trial and I was glad to be back on the path with only electric fences out to get me.

Just couldn't go threw there would of been a lot of snakes found area but didn't want to go in
Well I didn't see Dave and his helpers? If I had of I'd have said there is some nasty prickly weeds across the path to the cache. Yes, like the last cache visitor, I had to battle my way in here and copped a couple of prickles
No worries, that's all part of Geocaching
I didn't have too much trouble spotting the cache hide. It was just due to the weed growth I had to take a round about way into it (I assume the last person came this way too?).
Cache container still ok and tied down with line in case of flooding
I signed the log and headed out only to turn back around and revisit the cache as I had forgotten to grab the coords for the next two caches! They were handwritten on the back of the logbook

Found it! Don't attempt this one if you are not willing to walk through long grass at least knee height and vines with thorns (I guess until Council cuts grass). Certainly a bush-bashing adventure. I understand from Crew_153 that grass is seasonal and this location is not always like this.
Oh boy, this was an adventure! Lots of bush bashing required here, I wished for long pants despite the humid day. It seems that Dave and his mates heven't been here for years. Found it in the end but it was very hard to reach with my short arms. I think it might have been slightly dislocated so placed it where I thought it should be. TFTC
Time to find another one or two in this series now that I am back in Brisbane. I parked at a familiar spot and wandered along the nicely mowed track towards GZ. As I wandered, I could see a lot of horses in the paddocks nearby. Before I knew it, I had to leave the track and find my way through the long grass to GZ. Once there, I quickly located the cache and signed the log. I made a note of the coords for the next two caches and returned the cache to its hiding spot. TFTC
Crew153 you asked me what the Tough Mothers would do next! I'm not sure but I do know none of us have finished your Oxley series. With that in mind I thought I better do another one in the series today to try to catch up to the other Tough Mothers. It was a lovely walk to the cache. TFTC! I wanted to do another one in the series but the storm was looming nearby so I decided to go home.
I had in the past placed a DNF because the floods came through and washed this one above me and I did not think to look up or I would have found it as I was looking where the hint said.
Back today and the cache was back where it was supposed to be.
The grass was all flattened last time I was here but it is now all standing up and you could nearly lose me in here but not quite.
Took the coordinates for the next one.
Got back to the geomobile and realised I had only one set. Back I go to get the others. So much for daydreaming. Signed the log and emptied a little water out.
On the way back the horses came to the fence.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Crew 153 All good with this cache

A beautiful walk around Clivden Reserve, punctuated by a brief accupuncture session whilst retrieving the cache. So pleased we found another set of coordinates for Wheelstanders.
Once I saw the spot on the map I knew where we were heading and my mind was going hope nobody I knows sees me, how do I explain what I am here for, but we decided to take a walk around the fence line to the cache, it was a lovely walk and I have to admit I have never been this close to the river in this spot. Our GPS's seemed to want to put us in different areas but the decision was made that that should be where it is, well it was, Mrs RoddyC made the find but it was one tangled up mess in the branches above the hiding spot, hmm how was she going to handle this but with a lot of twisting and turning she did manage to get it free. so the cache was cleaned and with a new log book in a nice new zip lock bag, it was installed back in its rightful spot and we started our journey back thinking to go the rest of the way around the Pony Club, but then we decided a short cut across the grounds was needed, not recommended to others but as I know a lot of the members it seemed ok to me. Is this the first of our challenging ones considering the rain that Brisbane has had. TFTC
Caching today with DiamonJS and this afternoon we stareted working through the Oxley Series. Being a Pony Person, DiamonJS knew where we were and so took up around the fence alongside the creek to where the pin drops were on our phones and whatever she has on her GPSr. It was a pleasant enough walk - then we had to veer off into the bush to get closer to the creek and the cache. Once again, the fearless Mrs RoddyC forget through the grasses and under the vines and soon we heard the cry of a successful hunt. But when we arrived, o what a mess. The cache was tethered by fishing line to a stump, as per the Description, but the recent flood waters had pulled it up out of the stump and it was really tangled up in the myriad of thorny vines covering the area. Blood was drawn (it isn't geocaching in the bush unless someone draws some blood!) as Mrs RoddyC hacked away at the vines with the only TOTT we had on us - a small pocket knife. Although the cache was dry by this time, we did replace the log book. Found at 4.40pm on 2nd July 2015. TFTC..
I think the last deluge took this cache and it is happily swimming in Oxley Creek.
The GZ has heaps of dirt in it. Long grass is all flattened.

The cache was full of water and the log is destroyed. The cache possibly needs relocating.
The last time I attempted this cache the park was closed for maintenance. Here I am back again. It appears the park still needs some maintenance. There are still fallen trees. The last 50m for me was not that fun for me and I near chose not to do it. The grass is waist high and there are lots of holes in the ground full of water. I hate to think what snakes are in there. GZ is full of thorny vines which stuck to my clothes, my crotch and my hair. The cache is literally full of water. I emptied out the water but the log is destroyed.
Out with the Geo wife on a Sunday afternoon with the plan on grabbing a few caches specifically in this series.
This one was not an enjoyable cache to get to. Between the thorns, mozzies and fallen trees in the mud it was far from what I expected. Plenty of other spots around here which would house the cache in a more comfortable position for cachers. Log signed & required info recorded, we were off to the next. Tftc

Out and about today and on the trail from #4 oxley pony. With the off sets in play I made the long walk down, I wonder how deep the floods got here- don't think it was a rush of water thinking more of up than down. By the colour of the container I say this was here and stayed here too. New log book signed and next numbers taken I'm off. Took old coin left my extra pen I'll hate to walk out here and forget my pen. Tftc NO TB
This was a prickly one but eventually found it, everything in cache pretty grubby & no TB. TFTC

Slowly making my way through this Oxley series. I had expected to be able to grab this one and the next this afternoon, however the last couple had given me an unrealistic expectation of what to expect for this one. Not that the terrain was hard or difficult, it was just a lot further from the car than I expected! Nice wander around though, and some gorgeous 4 legged creatures. I wonder what they thought of me randomly wandering around the outside?
I have to say when I first got there I was a bit confused about where to go, but it sorted itself out eventually. Got closer to GZ then a moment of "where am I going? In there???". No geotrail visible but got myself together and tried to make lots of noise to scare off any snakes or random animals in the long grass. Slight geotrail visible much closer to GZ, but by then I had figured out where it was likely to be.
The old log is still there, with the coordinates for the next 2 caches on it. It's dry now, however as it's been wet before it's all fused together. New log is dry and in good condition. TFTH Crew 153

Wow. That as a bit harder than the others so far. Long walk/run in the rain. Once hound I thought I would continue around ant clockwise but it didn't look like it would meet up so I turned around the way I came. Making it much longer than it needed to be. Tftc
Found on a good day's caching with karenhippo, out to get some unknown caches and do as much as we could of the Oxley series. This one took us to some nice spaces, and gave us a good walk along flat ground. We liked the horses. Also discovered a wonderful place for kids having imaginative play in a shady place under trees, supervised by a watchful mother. Very nice location.
I was out today with Bristracker picking up a bunch of solved puzzle caches and some Oxley puzzle caches. This was number one cache for the day. We had a very pleasant walk to this cache. It passes through some prime tree climbing territory which young muggles were making good use of. Found the cache quicky. TFTC
!!!!!tftc!!!!! logging another found on the trail awhile back walked here at dusk the ponys came up for a visit . I heard lots of movement in the long grass but undetered I found the cache !!!!
We found a walking path and followed it in the direction of GZ. No fences or gates to navigate thankfully.
Coords spot on, again

cache find # 1295
We are enjoying doing the Oxley series puzzles; well until today when, after walking through pony yards, and not sure whether there were any gates at the other end, we finally came up to the locked gate. Next thing to do was climb through the wire fence. Well Mr GT54 got through with no trouble at all; but oh no, Mrs GT54 was zapped big time by the very same fence that Mr GT54 had just gone through.
With a not so happy Mrs GT54, and staying on her side of the fence she sent Mr GT54 for the final few metres to find GZ and the cache.
He shortly yelled out 'foundit'.
(Wonder if being zapped would be good for the arthritis).
This is one cache find we will not forget for awhile.
With the next lot of coords for the next cache location, we were quickly on our way. TFTC.
