I found this cache while out with Kolour today. While it was not my intention to find the last of this series out of order, the whole day has not really gone to plan so I'll just take what I can find today. Our plan to spend the day finishing the epic multi at White Rock was curtailed by pest spraying and unexpected fences. So we decided to take a drive down Ripley Road instead. We ended up grabbing a few of the GCLogan caches that Kolour missed on muster day and a few others in and around Flagstone.I haven't found all the others in the series yet and so did not know exactly where this one was, but Kolour had the coordinates, and she was very keen to find the last one. So we found a spot to pull up along the road and headed up the steep, overgrown track that looked like it might have once been used by mountain bikes. The whole area has obviously changed a lot since the cache was placed as there is no view of Mt Flinders from here anymore. We did manage to catch a few nice views along the road, though. At GZ, we made a quick find of the nice cache container and all was in great condition, as you would expect. It was great to find this old cache and I'm now looking forward to finding the rest of the series sometime soon. Thanks Crew 153 for the cache and the great Oxley series!
After a short walk in White Rock Conservation Park, BrissyCat and I headed down the Ripley Road towards Flagstone to find the new caches down this way as well as ones with the off road vehicle attribute for a challenge and others that took our fancy. I have had the coordinates for this cache for at least a year but have not previously had the chance to drive down this way.A short steep climb and then walk to the cache which was soon found. Really great to finish off this series which I started about four years ago, so a fp. No view of Flinders Peak though - those trees grow too fast! Tftc
I started this series years ago and haven't quite got up to this one yet but as I was with others going past I was given the opportunity to find it so I did. I promise I will get there particularly with the paddle coming up so I think I need to put the skates on to catch up!TFTC
Well its been about 10 years in the making, but I can finally put this series to bed As soon as the GCLOGAN muster GPX file came through, I was excited to see the route as it meant that time permitting wed be able to make a stop here tooThe nearby camper almost put a stop to our visit, but thankfully his towel only slipped once but I was already into the bushThanks Crew 153 Very happy to tick this oldie off the list
Managed to get here with Wayn0 who'd already been here - but was great to finish the series. Thanks for driving us here Cache was a straightforward find, just looked for a SPOR and there it is. Great way to finish off the day visiting this series. Thanks for placing these, enjoyed finding them a lot.
Out caching with the Tough Mothers (misssusan79, Bennyboppers and Lisylou). I have had the finals for a very long time but finally get to finish the series. TFTC!
Found with bennyboppers, misssusan and mnance101 today heading out to do the alphabet challenge. Nice drive though the countryside and found a good spot to park and a quick find at gz. Tftc
The final co-ordinates for this one have been sitting in my book for many years, it was nice to eventually be able to get the smilie.
Out and about in perfect and glorious Queensland winter weather and found this cache in good condition. Thanks for placing and maintaining this series.
Cheers

Flinders peak is a pretty impressive peak. Nice to see it from all angles.

I had mentioned to a friend that I was heading out this area for a hike, and he insisted in stopping at this *Oxley* series geocache whilst I was in the area, mentioning how far away it was to get to. I'm only halfway through this series, so I have to admit that I had a friendly shortcut for this find.
Online logs had suggested a lack of finders since the previous group, but as it turned out, this had visitors here only yesterday - I guess the online logs must still be coming (and I'm not judging, as I know I'm quite behind with my logging). It did make for a geotrail from where I parked, and with accurate coordinates, this cache was a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Crew 153 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 09/2005 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.
----------
Today with an early morning start, I commenced with a hike in the southern area of Flinders-Goolman Conservation Park. Three targeted summits from Mt Elliott Road were ascended, and it was a mixture of steep terrain, lantana and other spiky vegetation, and a few rock scrambles; a tough walk, but also enjoyable under perfect hiking weather that wasn't too hot.
Following the walk, I started to make my way towards home, stopping in Redbank Plains, and a few areas in Springfield and Brookwater. In addition, I walked around the new Brisbane Lions' new training ground at Springfield Central Stadium / Brighton Homes Arena, and finally stopped and made a circuit of Spring Lake in Springfield Lakes.
I was able to participate in / complete three Adventure Labs during my outing today:
• [Brisbane Lions in Springfield](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/52ec5b27-1076-4417-a161-3e53fd947ca4);

Grabbed this one as we were as close as we have been in ages. Thank you for the fun drive
Getting out of the house for some fresh air went in hunt for some T3’s to collect if we can find them. Also we all had the coords for the final of the Oxley series so we traversed a number of creek crossing and zeroed in on the GZ.
Nice to finally put this oldie to bed.

Today I decided to head for a paddle on Lake Wyaralong for the event and grab few caches along the way. I had fun paddling and watching the rowing regatta. I found 9 today.

A day caching with the usual group (RoddyC, hatzofff, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947) to find the rest of the Oxley series. Started this series years ago and now keen to complete them. Also grabbing others along the way.
The penultimate cache and thought we were in for a long walk but managed to find a place to park close by. We found the cache quickly and did a happy dance. SL, took the obligatory photo then replaced it back in its hide.
What a great series!! I started the Oxley series on 8th May 2018 so only took me 3-1/2 years to complete!
A fav point for the series. Thanks Crew 153 for taking us on this journey.

Day three of our plan to complete the Oxley series and grab a few local caches in between. Set off early with RoddyC, hatzofff, patrol14 & grannysmith1947 and of course little Miss Millie dog.
We all thought we would be having a horrid long walk to get to the final but it was quite pleasant to do and the cache was found quickly in its hiding spot.
Really enjoyed this wonderful series and a favourite point from me!
(Glad I didn't wait as long as RoddyC to complete it)

I got sick of urban caching around Camira and decided to drive out to this one. I got stuck behind a ute doing 40km/hr most of the way. I parked at the rubbish dump/quarry and walked in from there to make a quick find.
I started this series probably 5-6 years ago and have ticked them off sporadically. I’ve had the finals for this for a while now but it seemed such a long way away. Finally, I have now put it to rest.
Thanks for the cache and the series

Of course there would be no direct route here from my last find in the series, but I was happy to make it a little road trip as there have been very few of these in the last year.
The Waze app took me off sealed roads sooner than I expected and I had to concentrate pretty hard with all the blind corners and crests. Still, I met only one car going in the opposite direction for the whole journey in and out, so no big dramas.
Very near GZ, it seemed I had lost my GPS or phone connection somewhat which concerned me, but I figured out that the local dumping spot was where to park, and at least I had a spot on the map to walk towards, even if I couldn’t access any other info.
Pleasingly, the spot was all I needed, and I was soon uncovering the ammo can representing the end of the series. What a long old journey!
TFTC where everything is in great condition. I enjoyed the whole series (from what I can remember): I found Pamphlett on 29 August 2011!!

We had an absolute blast finishing off the series today. To be fair we have one more in the middle somewhere to find and log, but we have come to the end.
Google Maps had us going a bit of a round about way along Mount Elliot Rd to get to GZ, but we risked the shorter route to find that it was perfectly accessible. There was an easy parking spot nearby which was appreciated, so a short walk later we had the cache in our sights.

It's been exactly two weeks since my last caching adventure and as you could probably guess I'm having withdrawals, so I jumped at the opportunity to join Chamad, Willis007 and TripleTurmoil for an epic LONG day of caching on the southside. Our day started bright and early at Browns Plains, then Greenbank, Flagstone then a short distance away from Flinders Peak to finish off the day. The goal for the day was to complete the Oxley series and grab a bunch of other caches along the way, considering we'd most likely never return it would be silly not to grab them.
In total I managed 30 finds for the day, not a bad effort I must say.
And just like that, the Oxley Series in now 100% complete. We started the series about a month ago, unfortunately we ran out of time then and managed to get through half through it, so today we decided to head out and finish it off. I have to say this was one of the best series I have done to date, it took us to many wonderful locations and we experienced a hell of a lot along the way. I wouldn't have done it with any one else, we had many laughs along the way and a couple of crazy moments thrown into the mix as well. Thank you Chamad, TripleTurmoil and Willis007 for the fun times and thank you Crew 153 for the series and for maintaining them over the years. Well done!
With the log signed on this one we are done! Thank you for bringing us to this part of the world. Here's a FP for the overall series.

Out and about targeting the Oxley series today, along with some other cool caches along the way, our super crew of chamad, Triple Turmoil and NayFee stopped in to make the find on the final of the Oxley series.
Arriving at gz it didn't take long for the cache to be spotted. Log signed, cheers all round for finishing the series. We have had a couple of great days working on the series, days which we will all remember for a long time to come.
Thanks Crew 153 for a great series and for placing and maintaining the caches. Another fav for the series.

Out with Willis007, Nayfee and Triple Turmoil for another day of cache madness. The plan for today was to finish off the Oxley series of caches and grab a few extras along the way. Some areas we will probably never come to again so it was best to grab those caches as we passed by. With three of us living on the northside carpooling was the best option today. Then we had to grab triple turmoil, so a plan was hatched, a place to meet was organised and off we went. In all we completed the Oxley series; we did grab a few extras and then the highlight of the day an unexpected walk to grab a very fine alphabet cache. As always, a fun day, full of laughs and mischievousness, thank you.
Making our way on the Oxley series and we have finally come to the ultimate and final cache. It was a mammoth effort, one that took us two days to complete. We found the cache and signed the log and had high fives all round, till we then realised there is no more, (sighs) what now, it’s done? This has got to be up there on the list of highlights of our travels together; some funny moments, some frustrations, huge amounts of laughs, some awesome sights and locations, but best of all some great companionships and team work. It was a privilege to do this series and to have these people with me along the way. Thanks to Crew153 for maintaining this series and thanks to my fellow buddies some memories to embellish for a while to come, lol. This series gets a well-deserved favourite point from me, again thanks.

About a month ago Willis007, Chamad, Nayfee and myself started the Oxley Series. This could easily be done in a day but we are very easily distracted by caches nearby and some not so nearby. So, today (along with many other distractions) we finished off this series. It was a great feeling to complete it.
Found. Finished
Found. Finished
Finally found this cache and finished off this fabulous series.
From Pamphlett to Flinders View it’s taken us 6 years 5 months and 5 days to navigate our way along Oxley Creek.
Having made it all the way to Boulder last week we were determined to find this final cache as soon as time allowed... and that was today. Early this morning we headed out through Ripley along Ripley Rd and Undullah Rd. Parked the car in a convenient clearing and made our way up and over to GZ. What a good feeling when we found the cache!
Thankyou Crew 153 for placing and maintaing all these these caches - they have given us lots of fun.

Out today finishing it off.
This was the final one and what a drive. (Bit of a slow one in my low sporty car haha) Some beautiful views along the way though.
Now for me to go grab the first few and complete the series.

Here it is, the end of the series! I found [Oxley - Pamphlett](https://coord.info/GCQ6E7) all the way back in 2010, so it's apparently taken me nearly a decade to finish this series of just sixteen geocaches. Though, I should say, 2015 was the last time I attempted one, so the weighting over that time has been skewed.
Looking at various lists of geocaches, I realised this series is old, close to home and close to being finished, so I ought to put in some effort to finish it. Looks like an enjoyable drive too! However, I have long since lost the final co-ordinates, so had to reach out to the CO for final locations again. And with that sorted on Monday, I was looking forward to Saturday.
The weather had dished out a very wet fortnight, followed by a few days of sunshine. And while roads were cut around the state, I hoped these dirt roads would be fine for me today. So having picked up [Oxley - Boulder](https://coord.info/GCQ651), I couldn't get any sort of direct road, so headed farther south to pick up the southern half of Undallah Road.
A detour is still set up around Wyatt Road, but then I was onto the predicted route. But a couple of kilometres! And yes, I knew it would be dirt. And yes I know it has been raining. So yes, I knew there would be puddles. And I happily splashed many of them and for the most part chugged along in second gear admiring how unbelievably green this part of the world is. It is just so alive!
Undallah Road and bits of wet was all fine until one puddle was more of a creek and the crossing was more a weir than a bridge. A foot of fast-flowing water? Bugger! And it's too far to walk. I back-tracked for reception and checked the map. I pondered the Dairy Road and Rice Road option, but this was a non-starter given signs near the rail bridge.
Fine then, Undullah Road has another end, I'll try that. So I was in for a drive through Greenbank and Springfield to arrive in South Ripley where Ripley Road might take me to victory, assuming no bridges are out.
Just one more detour around an out-of-service bridge and I was scooting down more dirt road. However, it was one of the nicest drives in such a long time. Endless green views to be had. And given the recent conditions, the road quality was fine for me in my Lancer.
Some sections were sandy, some were steep and others were just slow. But I pushed on and arrived right near GZ. Perfect! And there was a little section of gravel to park on. Upon hopping out of the car, the heat and humidity all but smacked me full-frontal. A little look at the map and I spotted a track heading in the right direction. Off we go.
Yet, we weren't done yet. Along this 100 metre walk, I encountered biting marsh flies, a tick and some wasps. Plus plenty of mosquitoes. Yeah, insects have taken advantage of the water around!
While I skipped along some rocks, I kept my eye out and spotted a likely hide. Ooh yes, I see you ammo box! Untouched for over a year! Doing a little dance to keep bugs from landing on me I got the logbook signed and replaced at around 17:06. I didn't need to provide more opportunity for critters to bite me so did head back to my car quite quickly.
Given the decent condition of the northern half of Undullah Road, I drove farther south but didn't get far before I came to a different flooded crossing. So, home we go. And the road out, predictable now was an even more pleasant drive. I do love driving on gravel.
One more thing, I ponder this geocache is slightly over the watershed from Oxley Creek and in the Teviot Brook catchment - though I can't prove this really. What I do know is I am a very happy boy to have finished this series. A decade in the making, a year unloved for the final and an enjoyable journey. If nothing else, it made for a brilliant day out today. Thanks for this geocache and entire series, Crew 153

Another beautiful day in Brisbane - and not called into work still so out I head this morning in search of the Oxley Creek. I started my journey along this mighty creek nearly six years ago, today I wanted to find the source. My final one here. Took a while to agree with myself on a useful approach - there are two I think, but I decided to return the way I went in so unsure if the southerly bearing route is fully navigable. My route certainly was. A much longer drive than I was expecting when I set out this morning, but so very enjoyable. Suzee and I were having a lot of fun.
Found a convenient parking spot at GZ, and a short stroll later - cache in hand. The culmination of this series, nearly six years in the making for me - over thirteen for it. A FP for the series, and today - muchos enjoyas.
Thanks Crew 153 for entertaining me at this location.

Having seen where this one would be on our maps, we needed to wait until we had the time to make the trip out to GZ. We managed to collect a couple of other geocaches along the road to this area today which added to the fun. Whoever knew that Oxley creek could possibly travel such a long distance!
At GZ, we were rewarded with a lovely big container and the opportunity to sign a name in the log. We have really enjoyed doing this series, and add a favourite point onto this one for the fun we’ve had along the way.
Thanks Crew153!

Found cache - the final one of the Oxley Creek series. Woohoo! It has been an interesting (albeit lengthy) journey from the mouth of creek at Graceville/Tennyson to Undallah/Ripley! Wow. I've never thought about following the path of a creek like this. Really enjoyed it - thanks Crew 153.
And thanks to hubby for driving me out to Ripley. He had no interest in the bush bashing to reach the cache (he waited in the car, in fact) but it was a nice drive was a lovely way to spend a child-free day while boys were at Super Impossible Promises Holiday Club. Thanks John4068.

Well once we found the cache before this one, we had the coordinates in and were off and was not expecting the road ahead and to be honest figured that some of these roads would be tar by now, but it seems I would become a rally car driver today on the dirt track.
It was pretty interesting driving in my car to this one as there were a few parts where I had to drive up a bit of a slope and the car almost didn't make it up a couple times but thankfully it persisted and made it up as I drove in a snake like fashion upwards which gave me better traction.
During the drive to the cache we were coming down a bit of a hill and had a shock when some dude on a quad bike came roaring around the corner and looking at us with the same expression we had, lol.
Eventually we got to where we needed to be, found a safe spot to park and made our trek to GZ. Some great views from here so of course took the time to get a few pics in before attempting the final find. Walked towards where I had a hunch it might be and was lucky that this one paid off. ODST 501 and I added our names and returned the cache to its resting place. Another fave for me, loved this series and where it took us, discovered some areas not far from home I never knew were so close. TFTC.

More than half a year after starting the series we finally made it to the end. The hardest bit was the Pony which was unfound for almost a year when I got there.
Today, we went to hunt down the rest of the series. Although we have lived in Brisbane for years, we have never made in in this area before. Therefore, we took the more conservative way from Spring, having lunch on the way. Somewhat curious what the track would look like after all the rain, we were surprised to find an excellent dirt/gravel road. There was a good choice of parking spots near GZ and a quick scramble along a small trail took us to the cache.
Thank you very much, Crew153, for showing us this area and for the fun series.

Well I started this series at Oxley Pamphlett back on 15th of October 2016, so it's taken me a few months to get here This last one I'd put off for a while actually, but today the decision was made to get out of town for a while and I noticed this one had clocked up a few "unloved" days so I figured I'd better come and collect them before someone else does [^]
I drove in here via Ripley Road and once I hit the dirt roads it wasn't too bad except for the occasional hole in the road. I think it will get much worse if we get that rain spin off down this way from the cyclone up North
I parked as close to ground zero as possible, and that only left me a short walk in along a ridge. Quite a few cattle tracks (and dung pats) through here, so maybe local farmer needs to fix a fence or wild cattle walk through here [?] I didn't see any while I was here though.
The cache container was an easy find thanks to good coordinates and the hint
The log book was extracted and dutifully signed and dated. I grabbed two trackables from the cache and left one behind I've been carrying around. Someone else can move it on further
Container replaced back in hiding spot as I found it, all in readiness for the next geocacher to finish of this wonderful series [8d]
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I'm giving this cache a well deserved favourite point for the series [^]
Then I was off back via Ipswich to grab a couple of other target caches for today. Note: there are other caches out near this one, but I'm saving those for a different trip
Thanks for the cache Crew 153

Tada.
It's been a while since I started this series. I chipped away at the first few and then as then made a late night jaunt to collect a whole bunch and then real life intervened and the Flinders View got put in the later basket...
Fast forward a while and I decided to do all the peaks around Flinders Peak and today's target had parking coordinates which took me past this one - woot.
Having to much to do today I left early and I got to the cache just as the sun was rising. The pre-dawn drive was particularly misting and then dawn was accompanied by great chorus of bird songs. A quick walk and the cache was spotted and log signed.
Thanks for the great series Crew! I'm glad to have finally made it to the end.

Nurseyjulie and I wanted to complete this series. After finding many caches, we were headed to the final one We parked the car as close to GZ as possible and as far off the road as we could. We then scrambled up and headed to GZ. Once there, the cache was quickly located and our names added to the log. I loved doing this series and a couple of similar ones by the same CO. Thanks Crew153 for giving us some fun adventures
We parked the car as close to GZ as we could then made the mountain goat dash up and along to the GZ as I did not want to leave the car for too long. What an adventure to finally complete this series. Very pleased to have done so after at least three years since starting it! Well done Max and epic adventure! TFTC Crew153
Nice to find the final. Thanks for a great series. Just when we thought we'd crash and burn - it all came together. TFTC.
Out for the morning caching far from home with Slow Puncture and Linden/6. We had a very specific goal to climb to the People's Alphabet Challenge today, and the weather was beautiful.. clear and warm. Of course there were plenty of other side trips and lots of caches found along the way, including solved puzzles and some of Queensland's oldest .
I haven't managed to find all the Oxley series (though I intend to), but it seemed silly not to grab this one while in the company of someone who has finished them. We enjoyed the vigorous walk, before finding the ammo can nicely tucked away.
This cache was found in good condition after a short search, and adds to our total of 2128 smilies. Thanks for showing us this spot. Discover our trackable TGQNRV

Friday. Kerry from Slow Puncture was out and about with Orange Crew & Linden/6, down around the Ipswich/Flinders View area.
Starting our trip back from a challenging walk, this cache was on our to-do list. Cache was quickly located, log book signed and replaced as found. All good with this cache.
This was the 6th of 15 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks [Blue]Crew 153[/Blue], for showing us this place.

Smilie #3545
Out & about, with Slow Puncture & Orange Crew, on a trip south to grab a few of the more elusive smilies.
Having completed the rest of the series some months ago & being in the area I was NOT missing the opportunity to claim this smilie!
Our band of 3 intrepid explorers made the short uphill journey for a quick find.
All good with the cache.
Made our respective marks & replaced as found.
Happy to finally cross this one off the 'to do' list. LOL ...

Last one of the Oxley series for us.
Has been fun following the river.
After arriving at GZ, we made the short walk in and located the cache.
A lovely view of the mountains.
Missed the other cache along this road so will be back sometime.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Crew 153 All good with this cache

Out with cantcacheus2014 to finish off all the oxley creek series, this one been a unloved for over 1 year i needed to go get them all as the unloved caches are far and between. with about 15 caches done today this one was the one i have wanted to do for over a year as i had come here with gulliverstravels and the hunting rabbits so they can complete there oxley series. thanks crew for your hard work over the last 10 years and its great that we newer ones can come on out to find some early Australian history is the geocaching world. signed the dry and safe log and placed back as found tftcsl
Out today with Geo wife & Forbiddenground & his Geo son for a trip around the series to finish it off and that we dis, so here we are. An unloved cache with a year since the last find. A beautiful spot up here too, a great series which we all enjoyed very much. Crew153 we can see the effort and expense you have put into this series alone and would like to thank you, a vet of the game, for maintaining such a great series. Please dont let it go, the newbies of the future will love it equally. Tftc
Final cache in the series!!! Dr THR had planned to find People's Alphabet Challenge and today all the planning came together. We headed in from South Ripley and this was the first cache of the day. This has been an excellent series and it's been interesting to learn where the creek travelled and to see the changes in the creek along the way. From researching our EC we had a rough idea of where the headlands of the Oxley were but had never been there. This was an enjoyable walk from the carpark and an easy find. TFTC and series Crew153. A favourite point from us for a well established series. Sadly we didn't see Flinder's Peak from the GZ but we did see it heaps of time today.
Find #1461 This has been a while completing this series ,It has taken us to some great places some we new about some we did not ,but still a great adventure which we enjoyed and cannot wait to tackle another series Thank you crew 153
Together with SwellerFungus, I finally managed to finish this series. the night was a long one and we were determined to complete it all in one go. i believe the views from up here are stunning at night.
thanks for the series crew153. its been a joy to complete it!

Found this tonight wit EITS, will write logs tomorrow...too tired now! great series!
What an epic journey this has been tonight!
We started at 7pm in Taringa Brisbane, and have followed 11 puzzles up the Oxley Creek to this final destination! A cracker time had by us both. As we left Boulder we set our course and made the mistake of chatting to pass the time. Unfortunately that sometimes means that you may miss one teeny weeny turn off, which takes you a teeny weeny bit out of your way to a really big bridge that is no longer there! So back down that 20 minutes of rumbly juddering ripple of dirt road towards that teeny weeny turn off. Ahhh, thats better (but the road isn't!). We ended up 50 meters from where we had managed to get from where the bridge was out. It is amazing how much difference one bridge can make!
Passing a few of the caches I had been to before, and we closed in on GZ. We parked as close as possible and made a proud little walk to where we could NOT see Mt Flinders - Damn the Dark! Having climbed it not too long ago I had a fair idea of what I was missing anyway!
We made the final find, signed the log just shy of midnight and had a smug look of appreciation that we had done so much in one night.
What a terrific series for anyone to do. Highly recommended and some great parts of Brisbane and the surrounds to see. Favourite Point for the series,
Thanks Crew!

What A nice end to the series. I started the series with my grandparents while they were over from the UK and we had a nice little drive and walk at the end to get this cache, had a good time with all of them while doing this series and saw many places I would have never gone if it was not for geocaching despite living so close to a few of them. Thank you crew 153 for the work you put into setting up this series. TFTC!
YAY!! Finished the series with a little advice from Max. Glad we plumped for the sons 4x4 rather than grandsons pristine celica. Great fun through the whole series only a few bites and scratches !! Some wonderfull views and scenery along the bush track. Thanks Max for making our holiday from the UK more enjoyable. Can only award the one favourite point unfortunately. TYVMFTC.
Well this was a long ride on a bumpy track and lots of loose cows thankfully not when we stopped . Also saw a cowboy looking after his cattle seemed to be in exactly the same spot on the way there as on way back must of fell asleep on his horse . Tetchy
I don't remember when I started this series and when I found the last series cache, but I know it has been some time... I had two left, this being on of them and when I realised I would be heading right past GZ this morning, naturally it came on the radar... [^]
I flicked through my history files in an attempt to source the final coords. Hmm, nothing... Off to GSAK as surely I would have registered them. Nope, oh no...
A quick text to the CO with a little mercy call thrown in, and I was armed with the into and good to go. A little after 0630 this morning, I found myself heading into the bush in search of the container. ManicWombat was close behind, keen to watch me hunt fruitlessly. Alas, I found the container straight away and added a sticker to the log. All done, I tucked it away and we headed off to meet up with the CO and some others to climb some rather big hills...
Cheers Crew153.

Finially got around to doing the last in this series, it has taken quite some time to finish it all off. With accurate co-ordinates we found the prize easily. Parked nearby to go and get the cache. This one get a favorite from me. Glad to have completed the series even though it took a while. Cheers Crew 153
This find has been a long time in the making. I looked up the first in this series before writing this log and was amazed at just how long ago it was that I found it. Three and a half years ago almost to the day! It's been one of those on again off again projects I guess Time to get it done. We ventured south on the familiar road today to claim the prize. Found a convenient place to park and thanks to the accurate coordinates and hint soon had the find I'm very happy to finally get this done, it gets a favorite from me for the wholes series. Thanks for all the adventures along the way Crew 153
I have to date only managed to cruise half-way up Oxley so technically this cache should have been impossible. I was in the area and reading the comments from some of the previous cachers there was always a chance that this cache could be broken (tracked down).
A search in one likely location earlier in the day was fruitless. However, immediately on stopping at this location we strongly suspected that success would come our way. The environment showed the scar of fire borne torture and the distance in could also be gauged.
Nothing like the tell-tale thump of metal.

Out and about today with IolantheK to pass a milestone for both of us.
After lunch we headed out this way to grab a couple of caches along this road.
Now for the FINAL of this series. It has been a long journey with a couple of caching partners. YIPPEE. It has been done.
Thanks for series Max, a great adventure.

We followed on from Tech Lizards, and I'm really surprised at how easy the drive in the Jazz was today. No difficulties encountered at all [^] We made it to GZ unscathed, and took the short walk to the cache. Here it was a pretty quick find, and we both gladly added our names to the list before making a quick exit. TFTC, Crew 153, and a favourite point from me for the series [^] I'm very pleased to finally complete it.

Goldielover and I were here a few months ago and only found the remains of a cache. As we were driving past today we decided to put our names in the new log. Going on my memory I still managed to find the cache. Yep I think this one will last for a while to come.
Thanks Crew153
Thanks Crew153
Finally got to write my name in the log book seeing the last log book ended up ash. We were here just on sunset. What great views out here. Thanks crew
Oi oi oi. That 6.what-ever-it-was Km as the crow flies from the last one is just a bit further by car. Mighty glad it was dry. The road out here put the geomoble through it's paces. Got to about 7km away again and ahd to turn around due to a closed bridge ;-(((. Oh well, I've come this far. On on. Back around in the ks were clicking down slowly. Nice parking spot near GZ. Scrambled up the hill to find the prize Thanks for a great series Max. I've given this one a favourite point, but it should apply to the whole series )
Crew 153's last log on this one saved us a lot of time.
Our GPSr had us approaching fom the south. We decided to go the way Crew 153 suggested and come from the north. We headed down via Ripley.
It certainly was a trek in the poor Territory but I gingerly got us there. We pulled up at GZ and made our way up to GZ.
The area seems to be have grown back well.. and lo and behold we found a nice fresh cache at GZ. It was in good condition.
A fantastic end to the series, Crew 153. These caches are over 5½ years old now and are well worth doing. We appreciate you maintaining them. TFTC Crew 153

Yippee, wahoo, calloo callay [^]. We have left this series for far too long and it has been a great couple of days spent following the creek to end up here. The car handled the road fine and we arrived to within 90m of the cache. It was a beautiful short walk through the bush to GZ and the cache is in excellent condition as you would expect. Lovely views of all the hills as we drove in. A fantastic series and some very memorable caches, with a great final location. Thanks Crew 153
It is over 5 years since I set up the Oxley series and I have not been back to this cache since then.
I decided that it was time to check on it after the recent logs so I put the coordinates into the GPS and it indicated that it would take 90 minutes to drive there.
I was familiar wit the direction it was taking me so I set off and was 10km from the cache when I came across a Road Closed sign. It seems that a bridge has been washed away ( It think it must have been Jan last year by the amount of grass growing around the signs.
Ok that means a detour. I put in the details and the GPS indicated that it was a 2 hour drive to get that last 10km. Nothing for it but to take the drive.
I have never taken the alternate route into the cache although many of the finders have used that route.
The road is dirt and rough. Luckily I had decided to take the Falcon instead of the normal weekend transport of the wife's Corolla. I don't think she would have been impressed.
Arrived at the site and indeed the area has been burnt out. I could not find any evidence of the previous cache so I have left a new ammo can. I thought the previous one was one as well. I hope I was wrong as there is indications that people have been stealing boulders off the hillside in the area.
So, that was a end of the day. Not completely lost as I picked up 3 caches on the way and found a spot for a new one.

The container has been through a bushfire and didn't survive. We didn't have a replacement container.
Found with Stairman1 and geodog. What a bitter sweet ending to this series . After grabbing the co-ordinates from the previous cache and a slight detour to another cache, we were finally on the road to grab the last one in this series. We followed the well graded road until it turned into a gravel road. We avoided the pot holes and enjoyed the views of the lush green hills . We eventually arrived within 60 metres of the GZ, hopped out of the car and headed up the hill to the cache. When we got to the top of the rocks we stopped in our tracks. The whole area recently had a fire through it . "I hope the cache survived" I said to Stairman1. Well it didn't . We arrived at the GZ to find ash where the cache container should be . We took a picture of the ash and let Crew know it had met its demise. What a sad ending to a great series that survived the floods but didn't survive a bushfire . Mother nature can certainly be cruel . Thanks Crew for a great series.
Well we found some ash and a couple of very charred pages where we thought the cache should be. There had been a very hot bushfire through here recently. This has been a truly great series for us. We have enjoyed all the stops on the way. Thanks crew 153 for all the work that has gone into this series. I hope it is kept active for a long time to come. How do you give a favourite for a series. Oh well one for this cache should help.
Thanks crew 153.
Thanks crew 153.

On a beautiful Sunday morning, we headed off in search of the final cache of the series
We approached from the north, and soon had the dirt road underneath us. We went over, many, many divots in the road, crossed several creeks, made our way into a few potholes, and soon made it to about 500m, with one final crossing... This one had water and a lot of rocks, so we reversed back and found the best approached, and soon had GZ within about 90m
Parked up the top of the hill and had a nice walk into GZ with the GPSr and our new smartphones Both pointed to the same spot, and we quickly had the cache in hand!
The road our was a lot of fun too, except this time we knew what to expect We did this in a low-ish 2WD so should be fine for everyone else

After persuading a friend with a 4WD to go for a drive, today was the day to finish this series that I started before the floods. Driving in from the south I was glad we had a high clearance car but I think a smaller car may have been possible. The hazy conditioned limited our views but it was an exciting drive non the less. I was worried that my iPhone would not be up to the job but it worked perfectly and led me straight the the prize. The cache is in good condition. Thanks Crew 153 for reviving this series. I have really enjoyed the adventure.
I have not checked on the condition of this cache but I have no reason to not believe that it is still there. We will see who is the first to check on it for me.
The OXLEY Series is now all active again. Happy Hunting.

This cache is currently disabled as it is part of a series, many cache of which were swept away in the recent floods. I will enable the listing again when I have completed the restoration of the other caches in the series.

Disabled until the water recedes. Then I will assess the whole series to see if it should be changed.

24/03/2010 16:21 Found: Well, the final in the series. I started these over two years ago... It's a nice feeling to get to the end. I've still got three in the series to find, but not today thankyou!
The drive in to this one was interesting. I put my trust in the GPSr, and for once it came up with a correct path! It would have been fun approaching this one in the wet. As it was, the Subi ended up getting splashed with some mud
Took nothing, left nothing, Thanks for a GREAT series Max

Out today with Ant24, Geobub and Claire_geo on what was our third attempt to finish this series.
Well as they say third time lucky!!! Finally we managed to finish the series!! We had a great time completing this series, even if it did take us 3 attempts over a period of almost 7 months!!
Thanks Crew for the series.

Very excited that we have finally finished the series after 2 previous attempts Quite a drive along dirt roads, bring something with some ground clearance, definately not one to attempt in a low car! And limited mobile phone reception. Thanks so much for this series Crew153
Found at 11.29am. Loved the drive and walk up to the cache. Have really enjoyed this series. It's taken us to some very interesting areas. Took koala and left Whirlwind Donkey TB. Thanks Crew153
Entered into the book of LEDGIN'S. Finally got to the last of this great series. My find #800. Yahoo. Silky Seeker drove me the parking spot and I continued on from there. I suppose he may have felt Guilty cos I was waiting for them to catch up with the other caches in the series and finish this together. Nooo. Oh well. It makes for a nice Miestone cache. Saw a neat little python? slip over a log on my way to GZ. Thanks for the series Crew 153.
Great container. Nice hide. TNLN. The midges and mozzies were out by the time I got to this one. Ouch.. Thanks crew for the series. Silky Seekers.
Some of the individual caches had me questioning my sanity today but overall I really enjoyed the series. The journey to final was a lot of fun and we were doing it at the perfect time of day. Good to see a series this old still going. Thanks for the fun tour of the area.
Accompanied with Alchemy2 for the day. We make it hooray!!! We enjoyed your series so much. Lovely bushland. Lucky I have 4WD car so no problem. Took: Zoos of the World TB. SL. Thanks Crew153 for organising the cache and hunt.
Accompanied with Everlasting for the day. Yippeeeeeeeeee!
We made it. Enjoyed your series so much. Lovely bushland. Took Swaggie Thanks

Find 15 of 15 on a day of caching with strong-arm. TNLN.
Great series Crew 153 - hadn't been out in the final area much and I think I'll have to head back and explore more another time.
The celebratory XXXX and subsequent (but unrelated!) vehicle recovery added to an already great day.
Cheers.

Find 15 of 15 on a day of caching with geojez in our attempt to try and do the Oxley series.
After an exciting (and sometimes scary) drive over the dirt roads we made it to the final destination just before the light left for the day. We quickly found the cache and then toasted our success with a couple of cold brews brought along specially.
Thanks to Crew 153 for a great series, TFTCs.
We left some geocoins and travel bugs in over half the caches for the next person to do the series.
Heading out and home on a different way out we found a guy with his kids who had been bogged for an hour (it was the kids fault apparently who wanted him to drive through the mud!!). He was starting to worry as it was heading towards dark at this stage and no one had driven past and with no phone service in the middle of nowhere he was stuck. We helped him out and tiredly headed for home!
In: Swaggie, TB.
Out: Glow Bracelet (maybe this was from another cache, my handwritten notes are vague).

A great drive in. We just hoped that the GPSr knew what it was doing as we watched the distance slowly reduce as we drove on admiring the green scenery. Surprisingly we didn't pass or meet anybody else. We spotted the peak. Crew thanks for the excellent tour of Oxley Ck. We started months ago and visited some interesting places. TFTC
aaaargh!,great day out on ye' trusty iron horse, what a great series, comin' back to this area, its just beggin' to be explored some more!,thankin' ye' max loved it.
What a finish to a magnificent - and very long day. The team of Tratty, Kholometers and me managed to get this series done in one shot. Many thanks to Crew 153 - the series showed me some of the areas I'd not have known existed. Thanks Tratty and Kholometers a top day out.
Cheers

Found with Tratty and Water Rat. This Cache series was very enjoyable and took me to a lot of first time locations. It was completed in very good company and We also managed to complete this series in one very big day due to good planning and navigation skills shown by Water Rat. Great final location, glad we took the Landcruiser. Left a lanyard and Access Control #5 TB.(16:30)
Thankyou very much Crew 153 for the huge amount of time and effort put into this series. This Cache set is on my all time best list and will be rehashed in the future.
