Quick find today with Cheezel. As previous finder advised, container is missing its lid and contents.Ive put a bison container with log which we signed with the systema and placed out of the elements under some rocks for protection.TFTC Terrific views!TFTC
Out for a few high T caches tonight with cccl23, looking to fill a gap or two in the 12th lap of my DT Grid As cccl23 mentioned, the container was minted so we replaced it with a bison under a couple of rocks TFTC
Cant modify the date, but when I logged it as found on Sunday it was in bad shape - lid has blown off and all contents missing, looks like the clips on the lid have worn from the sun and broken off. Lid and container still in place and I left them there.
Found on a sunny blustery day! Hardest part was making sure no part of the cache flew away! TFTC
Found while on an adventure with my YA group! I should have thought to bring a pen up the hill in case I got the chance to look for a geocache, but alas, my chance came and I was unprepared, so here is a photo for proof.
Nice easy find! I took the route from the Carrick Hill carpark so still had enough energy to go geocaching.
I had strolled up the hill and made the right turn towards the GZ. I then was hoping that I wasn't having to go too far back down the hill to then have to walk back up again. I was a little concerned as I walked towards the posted coordinates that there might not be anything in the area, but as I got closer I saw the hide. TFTC jsknicholson
A break in the rain so I spent some time in the morning to pick up a couple of caches.
I wasn’t so lucky. Mid ascent the rain came down but it didn’t last long and the sun came out.
Quick find once I managed to make it to GZ.
Thanks for the cache jsknicholson.

I wandered up the hill to get one of the steps off the lab cache and this one was nearby.
On the way back to the car i made a slight diversion and quickly found the cache.

Nice cache in a very windy location! It’s contents had been sprawled everywhere for some unknown reason but we have replaced now and hidden a bit more so they shouldn’t fall out again! TFTC
TFTC jsknicholson. Great to have something to achieve after trudging up the damn hill.
Great cache at one of my favourite places in Adelaide. Left a TB, this hill caught fire a number of years ago so it's an appropriate one.
Don't forget to hand sanitise after!

Well I loaded the coordinates into the GPS. 553m to GZ. A nice stroll before lunch, I thought! Over half an hour later I arrived, puffing and wheezing, at GZ! That'll teach me not to read the description properly! Still, gteat views and a quick find. I enjoy hides like these as they remind me of the times, many moons ago, when we used to go letterboxing on Dartmoor in the UK. Thanks jsknicholson.
A nice evening for a few high terrain geocaches around Springfield and Mitcham area. One of the first targets was just within Carrick Hill grounds, Olympic GFG #2, with a D/T of 4.5/4.0. Once that was accomplished, I needed to fly a kite on top of the hill, passing a few joggers along the section of the Yurebilla Trail. There were a few romantic muggles on picnic blankets watching the sunset, and they didn't appear to give me much attention. As I descended on the other side, I soon realised how steep this hill was, and my runners were barely gripping as I needed to hold the fence for support. Eventually, I got down, and it was a short walk up Brown Hill Creek road, and back to my starting point at McElligots Quarry. Loving these Summer and extended light evenings!
A nice sunset was forming as I arrived at GZ. Wow, that was a long and hard walk up to this hill, and I think I did the easier route going up. For some reason, the coordinates kept bouncing on me as I made my way around the steep and uneven terrain. Eventually, as they went one direction, a familiar sort of hiding place was observed, where the cache was found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks jsknicholson for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this 09/2005 oldie!

Easy find but we took the shortest route from the camp site up. Nice climb but though, but what a view. Tftc
This was one short but steep walk. I had walked up here a few years ago before I was caching. Its such a nice spot with a view over the city. Grea to find this old one in good condition.

Great cache.
This is my favorite hill in Adelaide, it looks so damn perfect with the Individual Tree.
The image is of the container so you know what you’re looking for. You can’t figure out the location by looking at it!
Also, Christmas lights on the tree. Very wholesome.

Came up from McElligott's Quarry and that sure revealed how unfit we are . At least we didn't come straight up from the caravan park - that might have killed us [xx(]. Lots of people walking up and down this morning - including their dogs .
Walked over from the fenceline and it took a minute to spot the hiding place through the high grass .
TNLNSL.
How things have changed since this cache was placed . People are even putting up reviews on Google for the 'Individual Tree upon a hill' [:o)]. Still, no-one flying a kite though - that would have made our day .
Thanks Jsknicholson.

Walked up from Carrick Hill Drive to see Individual Tree upon a Hill. Dropping down it looks even steeper. What a beautiful spot. Absolutely amazing. TFTC
Found with NiciDanielle and Zoe the Geodog. Gotta be more than 3 terrain tho haha. What a view!! TFT incredibly difficult C
Out getting my regular cache fix with geoson Sebastbat.
We forgot the kite.
But it wasn't really windy today anyway.
It was a long walk up, past the rich people and their swimming pool with a view.
Damn, that property's just been sold, I was looking for one just like that!!!
Oh, yes. It was up. and Up. And up.
Cache found in good condition and with a nice view.
Thanks for bringing me here jsknicholson , and thanks for another smiley

Found while over this way looking for traditionals.
Had read logs so came equipped with new container and log. Also removed what was probably a kite in a previous lifetime but was now little more than rubbish.
Nice hill
Thanks for the cache jsknicholson

A great spot for a cache - stunning views and a nice natural hidey spot too. Cache container is in desperate need of replacing. Looks like the CO hasnt been active for a while... Log was too damaged to sign, however others have left a business card to sign, which we did also.
Thanks for the cache. Made a century (100 finds), what a brilliant spot to do it on.
I like the way this cache is concealed: an easy find by geocachers, but looks entirely unsuspectible to muggles. Stunning views. TFTC.
Spectacular view. Out on the motorbike grabbing a cache, had no idea that we were in got such a treat! TFTC
I must admit I wasn't expecting to find a hide out here in the open [:o] but find a hide I did SL of the crusty hard log book {TLC is really needed at this hide} [:o] the container really is in need of replacing. SL at 13:15 on Sat. 17 June, 2017. TFTC jsknicholson
Cache # 1516.
Today is public holiday (Queen's Birthday), a good opportunity to go outside, and find some caches. Today we went to Carrick Hill.
Tried six caches today, and found four. This is the last one we tried, found it.
Parked on the car park down the hill, and visited the house. Noticed there's a walking trail lead to the top of the hill, and it says it only takes 45 minutes to walk and return. So we had a walk.
Hike with an infant in the baby carrier is harder than usual, but still manageable. Took about half an hour to reach to photo point on top of the hill. Realised there is a cache not far away, so walked there for a check.
Cache was not difficult to find. The container was filled with rain water, as the lid was missing. Found the lid nearby, but it was broken.Cannot open the log book, so wrote the name on it. Rehid it.
From my view, difficulty for this cache should be more than 1, and terrain should be more than 3.
Thanks for the cache, jsknicholson.

Good cache location just off this steep path! Contents have been attacked by the weather....this kite is not for flying any more
Got a call from Anymules who was going for a walk nearby to pick up a certain cache. So I joined him for the trudge up the hill. That done we thought we my as well get some exercise so we wandered over here before heading down the steep track to Brownhill Creek for another cache. Then back up again for a few more before heading home.
Oh dear, this cache has seen better days. If only I had done my research before hand I would have bought a replacement. But as it is I was able to write on the previously mentioned stuck together snail eaten log book. Kite in no condition for flying so I decided to fly my hat to the amusement of the nearby crowd. [:O)] Didn't work. Oh well thanks for the cache jsknicholson.

Out this way for work and went for a little detour, managed to scribble in the pulp book, didnt have any replacements as i was in wrong geomobile
Walked up here with BONES after doing the nearby t4 cache as both needed for BONES D/T grid. That's a long steep walk. Cache condition poor needs replacing, log wet but able to stamp it also going mouldy. took pic of BONES near gz to show state of cache conditioner.
Haven't been out for a hill walk for awhile so I thought I'd start on a small one. Phew!
Log book beginning to turn to pulp. TFTC. Cheers

Was a good day to go for a walk, although I should have bought a kite!!! TFTC 18/03/2016 11:37 am Find #1102
A nice morning stroll up the hill to the top and back down a bit to the cache. Great views up here. TFTC. 18/03/2016, 11:35 Find #1675
Great idea. The wind was definitely blowing this evening! I should have read the description properly and prior logs and brought my sons kite.
A solid walk for 300m from the caravan park. Awesome views. Would never have thought to come here if it wasn't for this cache. Thanks!

Happened to be in the vicinity today having wandered up the hill.
This is an slightly unusual DT combo and like previous finders that was one reason for us targeting it.
At GZ the cache was quickly located. As Malco! commented the container, log and kite have all seen better days and need some attention. Especially the cache as it is no longer weather-tight.
Great views and a very pleasant walk after finishing a night shift.
Wandered further t the east and found the official top of the hill

Container - fallen apart
Log - pages stuck together and eaten by snails
Kite - a sorry assembly of sticks and rotting fabric
Rocks - still in perfect conditionl.

I've had this one on my radar for years, but just haven't been in the right place to go for it.
Climbed the hill on a nice afternoon.
Found it no problem but the container now lacks a lid and the log looks like it's been munched on by snails. Lucky it was dry. Wrapped it in a new ziplock bag and found the old lid.
The kite has seen better days.
Thanks for the cache, jsknicholson.

As stated before the cache is in bad shape but I didn't really plan to come up here so all I had with me was a water bottle so I couldn't really help out replacing.
Hell of a climb! Was after a pretty long walk and still had a long walk afterwards too but thankfully my legs weren't as fried as I expected. What an amazing view up here!

Mr Tardis went for a walk in the cool weather today. I noticed as I got higher and higher the wind got stronger and stronger. If I flew a kite up here today I would be flying with it Julie Andrews style.
Some nice views from up here - a great place for a cache!
Container needs replacing as per previous logs.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache jsknicholson.

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache jsknicholson.
Found it, but boy does it need maintenance. Lid has crumbled, contents are a rusted water damaged mess. Didn't sign log as no working writing implement.
Cache is in need of urgent maintenance as the lid no longer keeps the cache watertight as it was full of water when we found it.
Found at 1150hrs after quite a walk from our camp site giving us almost a straight shot up the western side of the hill. The cache is in urgent need of repair as the lid is shot and the cache waterlogged. We put in a new log book with zip lock bag as the original is damp. Tftc
We made it!
We are certainly not feeling like the singing von trapp family ... [|)]
However, we bought a kite ... So after our picnic lunch we were ready to sing again ...
just like Mary Poppins 'lets go fly a kite ... '
Thanks for the cache

Yes it's a great place to fly a kite! Although a little tricky to get to. By the way you might want to replace the container it's pretty dodgy.
TFTC! Great view!! I can't believe that the cache survived the fire. So lucky!
TheEpicOutdoors and I went up today, to check on the fire damage and found the cache. Amazingly the cache was completely fine, not a scratch, burn or melted what so ever! (Although the kite was burnt) The plastic bag around the cache was shrink wrapped around the cache tightly so we removed it in order to get inside. We took a few photos of the area and the cache, it's amazing that it wasn't melted. Plastic stakes and logs around GZ were completely burnt but amazingly, the kite was burnt, a nearby stray piece of swag was burnt, but the cache was untouched, and only the ziplock bag was melted. We saw the flames from our house when the fire was going, they were huge! We were instantly concerned about your cache, I gathered up my mate TheEpicOutdoors and we climbed the hill to see the damage, and maybe replace the container, we were amazed at the area, but the cache was intact, rather than a little blob of melted plastic. We took a few photos of the cache and the surrounding area.
Found it after a lovely but tiring hike after wearing my legs out on other geocaches involving steep hills throughout the day. Logbook is mouldy and the cache is a bit water damaged but that was ok. At he cache I really felt as if I'd achieved something huge after my friend stopped walking and sat down a quarter of the way up the hill. Great views but it was too windy to fly a kite. My huge parafoil kite would've flown me off the hill that day!!! TFTC. And Thanks for making me feel alive!
From a brand new cache at the foot of the hill to a rather old one up the top! Decided I needed some exercise and a stroll up the hill would do the trick. GPSr was playing silly buggers and had me playing the mountain goat as I traipsed back and forth across the face of the slope. Got there eventually. Not a breath of wind in the sky for kite flying, but a rather nice evening to watch the lights come on over the city. TFTC jsknicholson.
We walked up the hill after our 'pipe dreams' find at Carrick Hill. Great views. An enjoyable hike. TFTH.
up the hill with geo-dog and found cache. depending on fitness levels this cache could mean varing levels of difficulty to different people. The cache was open and moisture had got into the log to much crap had been left for the lid to fit on. I needed a rest and was able to empty the cache a little and dry it out.windy but no kite. thanks jsknicholson.
We climbed this hill and found the cache back in oct, I guess I forgot to log it.
Thanx heaps. I climbed this hill as a teenager and finally climbed it again with my own teenager. It was a great day and good exercise. Tftc and the memory

Took a really fun walk up the hill on a perfectly clear day. What great views around here. Was tempted but didn't fly any kites TFTC.
