The second evening in a row, we headed into Queenscliff to do some caching. Neither of us had realised that this area existed. The Pilots' offices is a beautiful modern building, and it was pleasant to take a walk along the beach. We had to do a little research to find the appropriate numbers to find GZ, but Google is your friend. The sign looks entirely new, and it is missing one of the pieces of information. Once we had the coordinates, we headed to GZ, and reasonably quickly, we had a rather soggy cache in hand. Unfortunately, the log is manky as all get-up. We did stamp it, but it will probably look like a green blob by now. Thank you for this cache andyandvirg and for bringing us to this part of the world.
Got it! Only had half the cords as I think the sign may have been updated, but flucked it! Cache needs some love. TFTC!
Attending the nearby Chrismas event, one of five scheduled for the day, I found a moment to slip away for this one.
As expected on these occasions, though sailing solo with these battle plans, a few of us rafted up at the posted coords before drifting our flotilla down to GZ to fish out our catch of the day.
TFTC andyandverg.

I attended the nearby Christmas Event.
In between chatting to many people I slipped away for a smiley.
On arriving at WP1 there were a couple of chachers calculating a likely GZ.
After they'd finished I put together a GZ too.
As it turned out it looked like they were looking round the same spot.
So I was on the right direction.
Soon found and signed.

Teamed up with some caching friends after the lunch event. Great walk, great view, thanks for placing this cache.
We soon had the answers here, although the sign has alot of wear and the text has deteriorated. We then studied the surrounding signed and wondered how we should make our way to GZ, we soon found a possible was and made the evening stroll along the beach, enjoying the view.
We soon found GZ and had the cache in hand geokids made a few swaps and back along the beach we strolled.

TFTC. While attending the lunchtime event at Queenscliff we took the opportunity to gather the information for this cache. Meet up with Dalerius and Themd. Agreed the calculations and then wandered off to make the find.
The sign is still readable for the important bits.

Enjoyed the walk with friends after the Queenscliff christmas lunch gathering to find this multi. TFTC
Down this way for the annual Christmas events and after event No 3 which was lunch I had time to find a couple more caches before heading off to the next one.
I have seen the pilot boats out on the water but never knew where they were based.
The building was probably a very modern design in its day.
Found the sign did some maths and headed off to GZ.
A quick search and I soon added my name to the log.
Thanks andyandvirg TFTC.

Whilst attending the Queenscliff Christmas Lunch Event, dalerious spotted this nearby Multi.
When the event was over Muggle Hubby went with him and n0w0rries to locate it.
There was a lot of indecision whether to find it or run to the nearest newly published cache as phones started pinging, notifying 6 new ones.
Luckily they chose this one.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this old cache for our enjoyment.

Checking yet another veteran cache off the list.

A great multi and then an enjoyable walk to GZ. The co-ords are spot on making for an easy find. SL TFTC
Finished at QMF and decided to try and tidy up the last remaining caches in the area. TFTC
In town for the Queenscliff Music Festival and keen to find a few caches. We watched a container ship come in through the heads while we strolled along the beach to GZ. Cache was exactly as described, log is quite damp. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC!
After working this one out at home this morning I found it after looking in a dark tunnel. Log book was a bit damp may need a new one.
After monitoring our display at the Queenscliffe LEGO display all day we came out here for a breath of fresh air and a cache. We were pleased when we found the pilot station here. Dusk was falling but I was able to find the cache, which was unfortunately quite wet and almost soggy. I found a relatively dry page to sign. As we left a boat was coming in. Unfortunately it was too dark and my knees too sore to walk out to look at it.
Found with The Rat. Logbook out of plastic but dry,had got wet @ some stage. Pleasant pm walk & local history. Thanks Andy & Virg.
Working our way through Queenscliff this afternoon family Perpetuallylost made their way to this cache, our only multi for the day. With Mrs Perpetuallylost reading the sign and myself crunching the numbers we soon had a prospective GZ worked out and we made our way over where the cache was found almost dead on target!
Thx andyandvirg for this multi, love it when i get them right first go. The cache contents were a little damp though as the cache was left on its side and some seepage has occurred. Log was still able to be written in but i didn't have a clip lock bag with me to stop it getting wet any further. Cheers

Stumped me at first as code questions did not come up on mobile.
Upon research and calculations and researching again - found it.
The "Kangaroo and joey" are going on holidays!
thankyou for the cache (bit Damp)

The information was found and the coordinates calculated. The cache was found easily. I dropped a kangaroo TB off because he wanted to stay at the beach.
Finally found a multi in Australia! All of them so far have been overseas grabs. I tend to get stuck on multis because maths isn’t my strong point. This one was nice and easy to at least let me log one! Log is wet. Maintenance suggested. Tftc glorious sea view
Find #2024 for me. Found at 7:30 pm while staying with Mum in Point Lonsdale for a couple of days. I visited the posted coordinates and made the calculations for GZ this time last year during a similar holiday but failed to find the cache. On that visit I spent quite a bit of time scouring the area which revealed nothing causing me to think I may have made an error in the calculations for GZ, so I wasn't too confident of success today, especially when the GPS led me to the same spot. This time, however, I found the cache straight away in a place that I thought I'd searched several times before. Was I really that cache blind? Maybe! Anyway it hardly matters now... The log book was damp in parts but I could still easily add my name so no problem, though the zip-lock bag had a ripped bottom so probably won't help if water gets in and I didn't have a spare on me sorry. Thanks for bringing me back to this location andyandvirg and thanks for the cache which took me over a year to complete in the end, but now very, very happy!
Love doing the older caches. Thanks so much for placing it here and maintaining it all this time.
We had collected the details on a previous visit and took this opportunity to sign the cache. Thanks for keeping this cache going for so long.
One of the first 500 placed in Victoria and almost an afterthought after completing the nearby wherigo!
This was a nice, easy one stage multi shich saw us stroll along the beach and almost tread on the well concealed cache.
Although the log is a little damp it is the original and thus well sorth preserving.
Thanks for keeping this one going.

**Multi Cache Find #322**
I headed out early this morning to attend two events on the Bellarine Peninsula and also complete a couple of Wherigo's that I've had on the go for far too long. Still in the company of Leafotwind, we headed here to find this simple but very old, multi. As luck would have it, I parked right in front of the sign with the information we needed. The sign is quite hard to read now, but we got there in the end and all without leaving my car. A short walk to GZ and again, Noam made the find. The log is quite wet as others have reported, but it is still signable.

Discovered we had just been in this area. It was quite busy at WP1, but easy enough to read the sign and gather the numbers needed. The cache container and all contents were quite wet, so with useful drying tissues at hand, we were able to dry everything except the log book. We did put it into a new, undamaged zip lock bag though. SL at 1.40pm #5698 TFTC andyandvirg - now we are off to look at the Masonic tree.
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you andyandvirgfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

I was on a rare beach holiday with the family so decided to take the opportunity to grab a cache or two before breakfast. Unfortunately I couldn't find this one today. Thanks for the hunt so far andyandvirg!
22/09/2017 2:17:00 PM - Out looking for a cache or two with my caching friend Square_Pegs and so we stopped here to find this hidden prize after working out the numbers that were needed. We headed over to likely looking GZ and started our search. After a while we basically concluded it wasn't there but SP said 'nope, one more try...maybe it's here?' and yep it was! Oddly in a spot we'd searched a few times individually but sometimes you just have to stick ya hand in a bit deeper. The cache was found in really good condition.
Thanks andyandvirg

With the numbers gathered we set off to GZ and commenced searching. We were almost ready to call it a DNF when we discovered it in a spot that we had checked, but needed a second more thorough look.
With the weather forecast predicting a warm and sunny day, abl973 and I decided to head to the Bellarine Peninsula. It was an ideal time to visit with clear skies and wonderful sunshine.

We arrived at the posted coordinates to find many cars - activity at the community house. Gathered the required information and calculated the coordinates for GZ. We walked the short distance and began our search. This proved a little trickier than initially though but with a little bit of delving we came up we the container. TFTC

I was in the area with the family on non caching duties and we were about to leave, when I realised that the start of this one was only a few metres away so I had to have a look for it.
The information was collected and we headed off to the final GZ, once there the search began and it did take a little while before finally finding what we were looking for.

I was a bit concerned because the writing on the sign is slowly fading but the information needed could be see, after searching for a little we finally found the cache TFTC
Grass being a bit long made the find a little trickier but we dig deep and found it. TFTC
Staying on after the Surf Coast Event we concentrated on completing some puzzle caches and this was one of them. A straight forward multi, a great place to have lunch and watch the large boats come in!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A great little multi. Started off along the beach before realizing where GZ was. Muggles relaxing near by meant taking a detour so as to be able to retrieve the cache without getting caught. TFTC

After some lovely lunch in Queenscliff, we were able to check out some caches in town. We thought we'd check out this 'old' multi and were pleasantly surprised to see a log by The Lone Random and Kiwi Friend - amazing! Great to be treading in their footsteps, many years later. Thanks for the cache andyandvirg.

The last couple of days have been so cold and windy we finally got good weather on the last full day of our holiday. The Park here is so nice with sea views, bbqs and a playground for the kids. This was a nice cache that doesn't take very long or require a long walk. A good pick up after lunch. We placed a few things in for swaps as there wasnt anything in there the kids wanted to take. Tyftc.
The lure of the beach was too much for my caching nephews and niece but my sister and I got there- along with half the beach in my shoe! A lovely cache for my 100! Tftc
Great multicache, loves the puzzles, haven't found one in a while, awesome job

Couldn't see any pilot boats today, unfortunately. Even though I could not see any ships crossing the Rip either. But there was someone in the control room. Got the GZ and once there, needed the hint to point us in the right direction. After some searching we stumbled upon the cache– and a spider inside. Signed quickly and returned.

We haven't been having too much luck with multis lately, some were hoping this one would help end our bad mojo.
After thinking we might be out muggled due to a nearby art exhibition, we set off the find the prize.
The info was quickly obtained and we had ourselves a set of coordinates.
Same story- we scratched around where we thought it was - no luck- moved somewhere else- no luck, then finally, as we leaned down to search some more we heard something that didn't sound like foliage- and there it was!
We were so excited to find the cache and break our mojo, that we didn't realise the people standing at a nearby lookout above us........ Hopefully the integrity of the cache stays true.
And to top it off- the pilot boat headed past just as we were leaving!!

We were able to solve this multi quite quickly- checking out the sign from the parked car!
After grabbing the coordinates, a quick search and we heard the old 'found it' catch cry.
Nice bit of history- made even better by seeing the new pilot boat head out just as we were leaving.

So this is where they start from. Love watching the pilot boats and the ships going through the heads!
A lovely long weekend Monday - cooler weather, less humidity - perfect for an outing to Queenscliff with the GeoFamily and the GeoMotherInLaw. Stopped at the Ocean View Kiosk for an excellent lunch before heading down to the beach. I had checked tide times and knew we had plenty of time to get around the point.
I've always been fascinated by the pilot boats and hadn't realised that they'd been around for so long! The required information was collected from the very interesting sign and we headed to the GZ where the generously sized cache was quickly in hand.

Although I'm not a huge fan of multis, I enjoyed this one. Gathering the info wasn't a chore and I soon had a set of co-ords in the GPSr. I think the longest part of this hide was the retrieval. It is tucked away nicely and took a little while to find !! Thanks for bringing me here, a very pleasant evening was had. Another multi to my tally !! TFTC andyandvirg
Staying with the hubby and the geokids (5 & 6) on the Bellarine for a few days of relaxation before school/kinder starts back on Monday. We headed down here for a looksie this morning and a quick cache or two! The maths was easy but the find took a bit longer. We needed to look deeper! I came up with the goods after a few minutes. Many thanks for the cache
No low flying pilots but certainly an interesting multi !

We were on our way to a nearby mystery cache and stopped to do this one as we were going right past. The info and co-ords for wp1 were easy to sort out, but the cache itself was a little harder to find. Another group who had also been at the earlier event cache joined us, and it was soon found. Find #1684. Found @ 20:17 with LouiseAnn, sharkiefan and new caching convert "spice".
After the caching event nearby, we LouiseAnn, sharkiefan and I were to continue on to find another cache or two with a work friend of LouiseAnn's. The newly converted "spice" (final caching name to be chosen).
This was the third cache, and this time we decided to show "spice" a multi. We met up with a bunch of few teams from the event at WP1 (good to see you sims_family and Neville-devil) and made our way to GZ.
In the end, with so many people looking, it was "spice" who made the find. (Hmmm, three caches in, and she's showing the rest of us up).
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache andyandvirg.

We picked this cache up at 8:17pm. My work buddy 'spice' has been wanting me to show her the ropes of caching for a while, and since we were in her neck of the woods today, we picked her up and took her along to some choice caches after today Kraken event and before we headed off to some night caches.
Wanting to show spice how a multi works, we picked this one. On arrival we meet team sims and some other caches and we headed off to make the find. Everyone was searching, but it was spice who made the find in a place that at least 3 other 'experienced' hunters had already looked in!! I think she's hooked!!

We got the necessary information needed when down in Queenscliff last week caching but ran out of time to retrieve the cache. So needing a cache for our calendar today we took a nice drive back down to find and sign the log.
