Really nice area REALLY disappointed not to have found this one and not quite sure why it was put under instead of on top, where there is lots of places to hide.
We had a huge look around for about half and hour and apart from all the over growth nothing.
Cheers and thanks for the hunt though

A nice quick find after a few DNFs today, LegoLads together with the Jones Boys (who actually get credit for the find) spent a nice afternoon on the beach and checked this one off while we were there! TFTC.
9 of us went looking for this one. Great view, with lots of possible hiding spots! The near by muggles were too busy having a photoshoot to be to interested in the crowd hunting for this cache! TFTH. Picked up the Geocoin. (All the way from Perth WA).
Found at 5.50pm GAFF1. A Derringer cache way up here ! Hi Derringer - we are on our way up north and we didn't expect to see one of your caches up here. Are there any climbs, or long walks involved?
Well we loved the park and the views from the board walk were wonderful. however we found ourselves on the wrong plane so a bit of rock climbing was involved - who would have thought!
The co-ords were spot on - which we appreciated after some dodgy cache placements earlier in the day.
Thanks Derringer for highlighting this spot.

Dropped of The Hare and The Tortoise Geocoin at the Facing Facing Cache at Tannum Sands.
Went to look for this one but had to do it quietly as there was a retired nomad couple sitting on the nearby beach. Saw what looked like a likely place and it was. Dropped off the Hare and The Tortoise Geocoin and grabbed the Shannon Travel Bug for a forthcoming trip to Rockhampton. T.F.T.C.
Tried for this one 2 days ago. But, there were way too many muggels. Today it was a snap.
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 10:00am. It took a bit of driving round to find the best access point for this cache and then a few minutes to track down. In: Geocoin Compass Rose TFTC
Quick find on beach, we weren't planing to come out here but took a wrong turn on the way home and decided to grab a couple seeing we were here.

Many thanks go to Tui65 who checked on the cache for me,
Their note :
"I went to deal with the wasps and found that there was only one nest there (which I dealt with) all the others that were there seem to have gone. Maybe the Council fixed them up. Anyway it's all clear now, And the Cache is still in good order."

As per note below,
Wasps are making this cache difficult,
Will ask my relatives to check it out in near future,
If wasps continue to be a problem, will reconsider the cache's future

went there with my geosister so she could find it and i we got stung by wasps and i had to go to the doctors so this goe cache needs maintenance fast
Once approached from the right way I found it. I did note while trying to find it that there are an awful lot of Wasp nests around. I am impressed with the concealment well done.

There was a couple of weddings taking place in the nearby picnic grounds but the cache could be approached without worrying too much about muggles though we did disturb the resident goanna.

Gave it a good go - batteries were about to die after about 20 min but felt i was close. Went to get more batteries out of car when a black streak about 8 inches away whisked in front. Wife would not let me go back - goundsperson later indicated black yellow bellies were 'on rampage right now'. I attached a picture oif our new 'friend' very close to cache.
Found it after around 25mins of searching.

Wish I’d read the bit about the correct approach for this one. Before I found the cache, I met some wasps that were not happy to see me. I haven’t had to move so fast in ages. Two of them got me, but luckily I had some RID to put on the stings. It’s magic stuff. TN/LN/SL. After looking at my map, I now see the reasoning for the cache name. Nice touch [^]. Thanks for showing me this area.
Now that was an interesting location - when I closed in on GZ and started looking at likely cache hides, I saw something that looked like the fattest snake I've ever seen, curled up in a hole so you could only see part of the body. When I walked closer, I saw a rather large claw, and was about to abandon ship when geomum said "let's have another look". Cache was found quickly by her then, without disturbing the very close goanna. At least we think it was a goanna. The little that I could catch with the PDA camera is attached here. TFTC!
I've said it before and I'll say it again - "caching takes me to such wonderful places", most of the time? This was absolutely beautiful and on this lovely day I wanted to just hang around and enjoy the area, but southbound I was heading. Not sure how the name of this cache came about? TFTC TNLN
Great spot for a BBQ/picnic. Really well set for taking family with plenty of room for kids to run. Didn't find geo but glad we went there.
Delightful area for all to enjoy including the roos. Found easily after noticing something that needed closer inspection. TNLN. Thanks Derringer.
found at 3:30pm along with ausbettsee47 and the geoferal kids while on our Tannum roadtrip. Beautiful park, council did a fantastic job fixing this up. Who said approaching from below is better.. hahaha I think I came from a family of monkeys
found it after a short look took police car left party popper thanks for cache
Nice quick find, bit windy today, not ideal for strolling along the beach...

Found this one nice and easy on our second visit (experience pays as this was the first one that we tried to find when we first started geocaching). Took Geocoin and signed log. A few muggles around today. Left nothing as we didnt remember to take any swaps. Thanks for the cache.
Boy hasn't this place changed over the last 9 years since I was last here for my grandaughter's naming ceremony. They have done a great job. Thanks Derringer, for giving me a reason to come back here. TNLN.
Dropped in to grab Bikini Bottom TB.
Cache all OK. A log from BITS coastcare appears from a couple of months ago.

Found it, walked past here thousands of times on our trips to gladstone, can't believe how simple it was, wish we had done this one first... Took Nothing left a necklace, had two of the goldings with me as well as geoaunt and 5 geodogs , not to forget geobaby....
Beautiful area at sunset. The sillouette of the refinery accentuated by the orange glow of the setting sun
Any way after a brief search from the right way, I found myself facing the facing facing cache
Filled in the log and faced away from the facing facing cache and had a nice stroll into the twighlight and watched the full moon rise in the other direction.

Second visit in a month, this time specifically to grab TB "Its a Dogs Life" to move it along, and to be photographed with Jarrah the Geowondermutt. Glad I knew where it was, muggles absolutely everywhere, beautiful day, with just about all BBQ's in action for lunch. Definate stealth required at this time of the day.

Found at 09:10hrs. Nice area and good walk along the beach. Must come back for a picnic one day. First time to the area. No muggles around when I found it but took a while for the coast to be clear to put it back in same spot. Success.
Took badge.
Dropped off TB "It's a Dog's Life"

Mr and Mrs Bundyrumandcoke found this cache today. Took a little searching, as geographical features disrupted some sat readings. Water had entered the cache, but fortunately, the log book was dry inside the ziplock bag.
Took the East Nunawading scout badge, (to join youngest daughters badge collection) and left a Uvex pen (Some assembly required.) Returned cache to hiding spot, making sure it was properly sealed to prevent water ingress.
The local council has really done a good job with the renovations of the area around the cache.
Nice one. [^]

Took the family for a walk along the beach, this is a nice area. TNLNSL Cheers Cam
In town for a massive family get together @ Awoonga Dam. Last time here was 20 years ago. On the out going tide, we'd jump into the river @ the mouth & get swept out a fair way. Lotsa fun back then but dangerous. I wouldn't let my girls do it.
Loved the animal cut outs at the bbq area. No exchange but have taken the TB. Thanks

A nice area to hide a cache, thanks.
Its great to see so much development going into this park area recently.....Last time i was here they were just building some of the structures.
A nice area to visit, so much so that i have run GPS training course for the Police and Emergency Services in the Canoe Point Environmental Park with some great maps developed of this area.
I couldn't work out the strange name and then the penny dropped.....well, people do say i am slow.
Thanks again for the hide, TNLNSL

We were visiting family who live in the area so we decided to look for this cache whilst there. It was a pleasant bike ride to the cache location in the company of our two nieces who had never been geocahcing before. Found the cache easy enough and enjoyed the views. Thanks
Took can opener and left Scout badges.

Delighted to discover a cache only a kilometre from home. Packed the dogs & kids in the car & journeyed across the river for an evening beachside walk. Waited until the coast was clear & then made a pretty quick search & discovery of the cache. Took the chalk & left a Rasta-man bottle opener....Yeah Mon! We've walked here a number of times in the past & it's a really pleasant spot. If you look across at Facing Island we've recently planted a cache out there called East Point. In fact, we planted it only yesterday! Thanks Derringer. Now on to the next one.....Cheers, Team OrrClan
Had fun finding this one. We must have searched the same place several times before spotting it. Wombat decided to stay and enjoy the sea breaze. Thanks for the highlighter, I need one.
Now this cache was a bit of a challage. A Sunday afternoon and people everywhere. So the only thing we could do was get some lunch and enjoy the area. We ended up get the cache about 4pm as most people had gone home by then. We took nothing left a Geocaching Australia sticker and FTF.
