Well if a whole team of geocachers camped in vicinity for a get together couldn't be bothered to even find this let alone fix it, it's time for this to be put to sleep!
was anything ever done about this, no one has bothered looking at it since we tried to fix it up.
Can only be negative about this one......Nowhere to park, no access for kids, was so waterlogged as per attached photo, we threw the lot out, cleaned the bucket and did our best to restock it with new stuff, new log book etc. I have put the old waterlogged log in a zip lock bag. I'd suggest the owner attend this cache. Also the container is a 10litre bucket and not 20litre as in the description so that needs to be changed. An absolute let down after the crap road to get in there as well. We did this while enjoying a lovely camping trip in the Watagans with fantastic friends, Bikiganoo & Spikemikey.
WataACrappySpot!
So many beautiful spots along the road, and cache left in a very un-child-friendly spot!
Cache was buggered, and soaked.
Sorry,but not impressed.

Needs attention by the owner, it had water in it, things were rotten as can be seen from the photo. Have left a new log etc and put the old in a ziplock bag to be removed by the owner. Plus change the container size from 20litre to 10litre.

Found this one on a quick run through the area today, it's still quite waterlogged which is a shame as I thought it was a great idea for a super swap cache container!
Track looks to have had a dozer go in through there very recently on the laguna/wollombi side, so super easy access in that way via 2wd, albeit a little slippery when wet.
Took PD, left mini green monster truck

Had fun in the Jeep driving to this one on a rather wet ANZAC day. Its great to see such a large cache (a tad wet unfortunately) - so far on our trip through NSW there seems to have been a heap of micros left were larger caches could have been place, congratulations on leaving a nice large one for us to find. Fantastic area to explore so good we stayed a week at the nearby Pines Campsite and did a heap of exploring.
Fairly easy to find once there, but the contents were very heavilly waterlogged. Still managed to fill in the log. The road from the east was 4WD only on the day and gave me a chance to try out my new Nissan Xtrail, its first off-road (other than Stockton Beach) adventure which took about about an hour from the F3. Lovely area in general and plenty of camping spots. TNLN thanks for the cache. Also found Miners Memorial cache GC1F34Q later that day one the way back. Oh, and there is a travel bug in there too! Nice one
This is an interesting place to get to. Take a look under the 3 ton bridge if coming from the east. The cache had water inside and all items inside are wet. Log needs replacing.
Well cant quite claim a "find" for this one, really.
I mean. standing 30 meters away yelling out "put my name in the log will you?" doesn't quite cut it for me.
I'll be back another day with some of the brethren to re log this one.
thanks for the fun guys, a nice opportunity to test the Challenger.

Did the signing as the log was passed along the long line of cachers up here for the 4x4 event
Found in the midst of the masses. on the Watagans 4x4 event with traffic jamb nearby. I'm sure we had a traffic helicopter overhead.

This was our 1st mass Watagan 4x4 event find for the weekend. It might be called wataspot but if the backburn had of been on the otherside of the trail it'd be wataburnt spot.
I recall the cache being a bit damp.
Thanks

Great fun driving here in a convoy of so many other cachers during the Watagans 4x4 event. A good size cache but it could do with a bit of TLC as the content are wet & it was difficult to write in the soggy log book.
Thanks,

we in for the find on this one but with out the gps in the hope that the cache trail would lead me to the goods but it was the Hancock clan that got to it first really have no chance with somay avid cachers in one spot. tftc
Found this one on the Watagans 4x4 Event weekend.
It's often hard enough to find a cache at all. Today, being amidst a cacher horde it was impossible to find any caches before the cache was found. I scrambled down the bank here only to be thwarted by cries of "FOUND IT!"
The views back up to the top of the ridge line are pretty spectacular.
Thanks for the cache.

Took the camper-trailer from Sydney during the weekend and since we were heading through Watagans this was a "must". The track is partly quite rough but we didn't have any problems. Since the parking wasn't too friendly, Hagar stayed by the car while Helga did the duties. The cache was wet inside, I removed the water and took a frog and a screwdriver - left a book (covered in plastic) and an ANZ frisbee. I also removed the wet motor mazagine.
Visited while on a 4wd trip with pradopoint.com
The track is alot rougher than I remember but is not a problem for 4wd's & should be OK for all wheel drives but you will need to pick a good line in a few spots.

This was my first cache for 2008! Found at 8:30. I found this while on a bike ride through the area with 4 other guys. None had any idea about caching but soon got the point. This was my first trip to the Watagans but I loved it I will be back in the 4WD next time for a bit more sedate trip back through. The GPS log shows that I came back past here at 5:01 I was doing over 60km/h and I had travelled over 350 kms. A great day.
Thanks Team Yota for the cache!

I visited this spot twice. Once I discovered I had lost my GPS, the second after having found it again. It was a quick find once I had the GPS here as it's difficult to be tricky with a cache this size. Nice spot to stop while playing in the Watagans.

Oh what a great spot. The road down to it is pretty rough since the rain, so we decided to go out via Woolembi for some Dr Jurds Jungle juice.
Really enjoyed finding a large container with plenty of swaps for the kids and geowife.

We first tried for this one about 18 months ago in a 3 day old Kluger.
My cousin just got a new Kluger a couple of weeks ago, so while touring about the Watagans scouting out the camp sites, we decided it was time to try this one again.
Taking a slightly different path this time, we had some rough road, but nothing that did more than put a grin on all the kids packed into two cars.
Found it quickly, and with about a hundred kids crowded around, I'm not sure what got swapped for what, but I do know that a lot more went in than came out.
A fun find at the end of a long and enjoyable day. We kept going along the track and took the scenic route via Wollombi to get home.
Thanks for the fun.

#2 cache find today, easy find when got to area, had a quick flick through the mags but TNLN. Could of used one of them modified 4x4s on a track just to the North of this cache I had to back-track on way to "Oh WATA Feeling!" cache. Tracks on maps don't always correlate to trafficable routes in real life, for my little Suby anyway. Would have liked to see anything get up the bit I had to pull out on, would be a real rock-hop. Only got two sill dents on way into that track before I came back down it... :[ More character dents.
Thanks for the Hunt Team Yota.

Took a slight detour on our way to Wollombi through the Watagans via the Letter A to give our AWD Holden Adventra a bit of a "workout". But even though we have had quite a bit of rain over the last two days the going was pretty easy. Found the cache by just stopping off on the side of the road and going for a quick "hop, skip and a jump' down the embankment. Took Monocular and left a fan and screwdriver set. Came out at Laguna.
Thanks TeamYota for a nice drive through the Watagans

Thanks for a great cache in a great location. Haven't been into this part of the Watagans before so it gave us a great excuse. Good to see some nice sized container once in a while.

got there in a 3cyl 1 ltr suzuki swift, oh so easy how on earth did a diff get blown on this road. all in all had fun and found another to ad to the list. left a travel bug
Was nearby and decided to have a go at finding my second GC.Use to live near here but its been a long time since I visisted the area. Forgot how nice it is.
Wata spot, wata day! We woke up late at turpentine camp ground had a nice breakfast and all decided to find this cache on our way out, then start the journey back to the gong. Well, first up we took a wrong turn and headed up wave rock fire trail, which we decided would be a good challenging drive considering we all had capable 4X4's (notice I said had). Anyway we got half way up this track and found a group of hard core 4X4's having trouble on a few large rock steps. After watching them our 3 toyotas and one nissan decided we to could take it on. That we did, and all got to the top within a hour or so, with two capale toyotas and one good nissan left. Yep I busted a front diff and turned my rear drive shaft into a bannana all within 20 seconds. Not bad for being the experienced driver of the group. Any way after disabling the front diff we headed off, found the cache and then headed down the freeway at 70km/h. This is as fast as I could go before the rear shaft got the shakes and tried to jump out of the car. At the moment my 100 series is on stands in the garage waiting for parts. We loved the Watagans and will be back, I might just be third in line next time, going first realy sux. Thanks for the adventure, and by far the most expensive cache yet! Greg
I have since found out that I destroyed the sun gears in my centre diff, not the front diff as first thought. We will be back. For those who are concerned by these photos, dont be, while we were filling out the log a magna went past so a 4X4 is not required.

Came in from Laguna after reading prior logs. Road great all the way - except the last 100m - and I have a 2WD.
Took awhile to get a true GPS reading and looked the wrong side of the road, looking at just about every rock.
Then I let the sky gods do there work and finally got a more accurate fix, and the cache revealed itself to moi.

[xx)]it was a sad adventure after having to turn back because the car didnt have enough clearance for the bumps i recomend you take the other entrance for future reference. along the way home we got lost and hit a kangaroo but it jumped in front of us and after the knock it still hopped away. very sad
thanks for a great day steelrat and fellow geocachers who hid them. stormin'norman

So close, and yet so far.
I’m not logging a DNF, because we didn’t quite get close enough to try and search.
This was the first trip out in the new Kluger, and I wasn’t really sure of it’s capabilities. We passed a camped group of full-on 4WDers and headed on down a track that looked more made for trail-bike jumps than cars. After scraping the underside a few too many times, with the berms getting worse as we went, we pulled the pin about 4kms from the cache (according to the Garmin’s auto route). Going back past the 4wders, I’m sure they felt smug thinking the Kluger couldn’t handle the track. They were probably right, but on it’s first trip, I didn’t want to risk it just yet.
It got dirty enough, the kids loved the mud flying up the windows on some of the tracks, so the trip wasn’t a waste. We checked maps etc to look at the Laguna side entrance, and figured it was too long a detour this late in the day. We took some interesting routes back home, though, with a few tracks not being as wide as the car. Any second I expected to see dirt bikes flying through the air at the windscreen, but we still managed to make it back. Mrs Rat had a huge grin on her face. I think she’s a closet bush freak who needs to get out more.
Later, I got home and checked the track log. We probably could have parked and walked the final 900m straight to the cache through the bush. Ah, the benefits of hindsight, and leaving kids behind.
I’m calling this one a draw, and will be back for a rematch.

Found this one almost by accident at 1:50pm. Our 2nd virgin cache find in as many days! We were out 4WDing with some muggle friends, debating whether we had taken a wrong turn or not when this one popped up on the screen. We found it very quickly though Scott and Sarah got attacked by Leaches. Our Friends were very excited about the whole thing!
