We were camping in the area and noticed this archived cache, we got some help from a previous finder and went for a walk to see if we could find it. The area is very overgrown and there is lots of lantana around. We searched in what we thought were likely hiding spots but couldnt find it today.

My history with this cache started over 5 years ago. I really should have paid more attention before it all fell to the wayside. Captain Terror and I managed to get the first set of co-ordinates off the first tag "back in the day".

Alas I am not sure where I put the co-ordinates now - so I decided to start again.

Sweet_bee and I decided to visit today to see what we could see see see. I had done some homework and put out some feelers. No bombshell answers like "here is the final co-ords" (would be a shame to get that). Jasenjanine helped with what they remembered. Hopefully I would be out able to sort it out with everything at hand.

Back to WP1 today. Holy - has this place changed over the years or what? I have memories of camping at Peachtrees in the 90s. Nothing like I remember it. Sweet_bee and I set off to the find the first WP again. We got to the GZ. Err - this aint good. That be a new fence - and possibly a moved fence at that. No dice Twisted

Time to go by the memory of Jasenjanine. I examined one area for another tag. Hmm not good. Nada to be found. I decided to go and see if I could get the final.

I'd love to say we just waltzed up to it.. but we didn't Twisted It took us a good 45 minutes before I spotted a somewhat likely spot. And it wasn't until I saw PVC did I know I had actually struck "gold". We signed the log and returned the cache to its home - making sure to hide it well. It was in great condition.

In the meantime, Jasenjanine had been hunting where the WP might be. They'd given me some co-ords to try (good old Google Earth). It ended up being the same area I looked for the tag - so I wasn't really holding my breath. Never the less I visited it again.

But I decided to go a little more "bush" and spotted a fence. Well this is all very possible. Then I spotted it - a tag. The actual tag that leads to the final. It was in good nick and readable - after a fair old clean. So I found me 2 tags all up over the years while hunting for this cache.

Perhaps I didn't get to all the waypoints. But I certainly earned my difficulty rating in locating the final and the last tag. I have zero qualms about claiming a find on this one. My thanks to Jasejanine and other friends who were wanting to help (but were unable on account of travelling). And TFTC to GEOBLASK for a fantastic cache. I am very happy to see this one is still able to be found Smile

Yay! After 3 and a half years of searching for this cache, today was the day of finally finding it. I had been to all the waypoints searching for the tags but only located the first one.
The cache had not been found since 2011 and I was finally able to locate and sign the log. It was great reading back over the logs and see who had visited the cache. Still in great condition.
Took some coins and left some coins.
TCLC TFTC Thanks GEOBLASK Cool All good with this cache even after 3 or more years
A favourite from me

As there has been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it has been a number of months since the last owner note I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 28 days), just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Disabled pending a maintenance visit which will not happen before Sept as we are travelling

24-Jun-13
it has been a long time since the CO has done any caching and with all the rain and floods in recent times is this one still active. With the previous DNF's I would have thought the owner would have at least had a look to see if this multi was still feasible to do or at least turn it into a traditional.

24-Jun-13
Could not find waypoint two. Is this cache still in the game because it has been along time since way point two has been found.

25-Apr-13
We had previously found WP1 at the Challenge 6 in 2012, so we came back to the coordinates for WP2, but were unable to fond anything despite poking our heads into bushes of lantana and blackberries which were in fruit.
Headed off to try for WP3 with out any coordinates but couldn't even find the place due to the change in landscape compliments of floods and mother nature let alone another tag.
We even walked along the final route but again with out any coordinates, we are just dreaming of finding this cache. Thanks GEOBLASK Sad

Found the tag at the listed co-ords without any problems. Walked to the next co-ords. Pretty sure I was in the correct vicinity. Had a really good look around but was unable to find anything. Thanks GEOBLASK

Attending the event nearby today and Fangsoki and I hoped to get this one done. We had WP1 sorted, but there was not enough hours in the day. Guess next time I'm in the area - and I hope I am, such a beautiful part of the world - I'll get this one sorted.

12-May-12
Captain Terror and I had planned to do this one today - but Father Time was against us. We managed to collect the first WP at least. We shall return to this nice area Smile

02-Apr-11
Found while attending Forest Challenge 5. We headed out Saturday morning before the challenge to find the waypoints. After a nice little drive through some great forest, we had the final co-ords but had to wait until after the challenge to go and look for it. The prize was found after a pleasant stroll up the walking track with a short bush-bash at the end. Big Grin. We were surprised to see it hadn't been found since Forest Challenge 4 last year. TNLN Thanks GEOBLASK

Found this one on the way home from Forest Challenge 5 event. We usually don't attempt multi caches but I am glad we attempted this one. A cow popped out from around the corner and frighted the .... out of me.

1050hrs. Good to get this off the radar. We found all the tags while at last years forest challenge so finally made it back this year to complete the cache. Found with Griffo after a nice walk. Cache in good condition. TFTCSL

Enjoyed this little trek around! Found the first tag at exactly 3:00 and the final cache at 4:00. In between I kept myself amused by heading in the wrong direction here and there ... Thanks for the tour of the local area, Geoblask.

Got to within 25 meters of Cache 1 until a black snake told us it was not a good idea to walk amongst the long grass! Will try again in cooler months when grass height down a bit.

We tackled this geocache while camping at Peach Trees for the Forest Challenge.

Our etrex showed our tracks on the day previous and we enjoyed another drive along the forest roads near the campsite.

All tags were easily located and it was good to locate the cache itself at the final coordinates.

Twas the eve before the Great Forest Challenge 2009 Big Grin
We had arrived a day early to chill out, but I couldn't resist a multi.
It was my first multi with more than 2 waypoints. I walked the first and last waypoints but used the trusty 4x4 to zoom around the others, there was one point when I thought I might need to hack my way through rain forest but the forestry tracks provided a circular way around.
Thanks to GeoBlask for showing me a unique tagged multi.

Collected the tags for this one today but decided not to head for it as we were short on time. Had a bit of trouble reading the last tag as the old eyes aren't what they used to be.

Looking forward to looking for it next time we're out there.

TFTH so far.

Tackled this one while camping at Peach Trees. Tags were easily found, even Tag 2 which was on a broken part of the fence. The last tag had a scratch on it which meant I misread one of the numbers. Had to back track and discovered the mistake, as I was sure the cache was not located in the middle of lantana.

It was hard to the get the GPS right at the final cache location as it was hard to keep your balance.

Enjoyed the journey.[^]

Cache was in good order.

[Imagine you hear cheering as you read this. We found it thank goodness. We loved this cache but had no idea what we were embarking on. I thought we were going on a pleasant stroll around the campsite - geohubby and 3 geosons in tow. We left at 4.30pm and were not prepared for the distance we had to travel. The further we WALKED from the campsite the more we were reluctant to turn around in case it was faster to continue. But darkness was approaching.] When we reached the tag closest to the fire tower we decided to walk the 4km back to the campsite and continue the next morning.

[The fence where the second tag was located has fallen down. We've hooked the tag on its wire onto the nearest fence pole so it will not be at the exact GPS co-ords.

Geo4yearold and I found the cache this morning. Funny. I couldn't convince the older boys to come out again. The track to the cache is closed until June but we decided to ignore the signs and continue anyway. The scramble over the rocks was hairy but we found the cache higher up than I expected. TNLNSL.

The boys were fantastic! This is probably the longest walk they've been on. It was a fascinating area with continually changing surrounds. I would have loved to have a map of the area with us! Thanks for organising one of my favourite caches so far.

Found Ok

25-Nov-07
Found all the tags but couldn't figure out how to get to the stash. Maybe I typed in a wrong co-ord but was too tired after the forest challenge weekend to go bush bashing. Never mind it's a good excuse to go back to peach trees - a lovely spot.

Hit this with the olley's, storkers and curtdog. A great bit of 4wd driving in a top location.Well done...with fun!

THENANKS and the MadMyers attacked this one together and a good time was had by all. We increased the mud on the 4WD and even patted a bull! Each waypoint was easily spotted and the course was completed without drama. [^]

We didn't swap at the cache but signed the log and headed back to camp to say our goodbyes after a great weekend at the 2007 Forest Challenge. Big Grin

What a great area to go caching. We drove most of the way and found the tags easily. The last cache was found by the curtdog lucky he was in the group.

Found this one with theNanks after a great weekend at Forest Challenge. No swaps today - great fun was had by all motoring along the forest tracks. Many confused cows - watching and wondering what we were all up to! Thanks for the cache.

Fun cache in an area that is, at present green and beautiful. We were too lazy to walk today so went in the 4WD (except for a few bits here and there) Great drive. Thanks for putting it together. Smile

30-Sep-07
Final day of our 3 day stay, I decided to get up early and tackle this cache on foot. It was a very pleasant early morning stroll through the forest - found the tags easily (in fact found 2 tags at two of the WP's!). The cascades were dry - they would look good with water going over them I think.
I got to within 300m of the cache and the batteries died in my GPS - no problem, I have spares - flat too - doh! Ok, back to the camp to raid the batteries out of my torch - very low as well, but fortunately enough juice to get me to the cache - phew. There has been a fire through the area recently, but cache is fine.

Signed log @ 07:30 and enjoyed the location for a while before heading back for breakfast.

Just had to go for this one whilst I was in the area. Got talkied out of the walk, but it would have been nice. Good co-ordinates and I'm told improved tags. Well done - it gave me inspiration! TFTC TNLN

SmileSad Found some of these multi cache sites but Geocacher Jr had a stack on his mountain on the way to the 4th so we had call it a day and head for the Kilcoy hospital instead (no major injuries). We will be back to find the rest. I was gonna drop a geocoin here too but alas.

Very long cashe......half an hour later we got to half way...then we got closer...and closer...went round in circles...then took 20 minutes to find the cashe....nice hiding spot. Obivious when we found it. Cool

The old fire tower is off limits at the moment so I couldn't climb it this time Sad The track to GZ was closed for maintainence but I snook in from the fire trail nearby Big Grin Left a squishy flower in the cache.

Good walk along a quiet trail. Had to dodge a few cattle that lived there.
Got a bit dark to find the cache location on Friday, so was found Saturday morning.

Did the first part in the morning, and finished off with the Garners at the end of the camping weekend.

Great place, TNLN

A quicky this morning as we left this great camping area. If you haven't been, we thoroughly recommend it. And yes, we drove. TNLN SL - cache is in good condition.

Found WP1 easily & then convinced the kids to walk and do the rest with me. They got to WP2 & started complaining that they were tired, 'not much further I said'. At WP3 I looked at the distance and decided that as they'd already walked 2km I'd take them back to the camping area - but how was I going to finish it Sad

Luckily Xixau (of Xixau and Shenzi) was wanting to do this one in the 4WD before the end of the day, so later in the day we jumped in the car and headed off to find it - it's amazing how much quicker the metres tick over when you're in the car.

This really is a nice area of bush through here and there is plenty of diversity in the bush & the wildlife. We saw quite a number of birds, plenty of cows & wallabies and kangaroos.

The final cache location proved to be the hardest walk of them all (and not really that bad as we took the 4WD fairly close) & it didn't take long for Xixau to located the cleverly hidden cache. We took out a skateboard, tennis ball and a clip (we had to reward the kids after such a good long walk) and put in 2 superballs and an inflatable mask (the swaps bag was almost empty).

Thanks for placing this cache in such a lovely area.

01-May-06
Camped at Peach Trees for 3 days.
Tried to find the cache but could not.
Even searched on the other side of the barb wire fence.

Nothing found ....Sad

Ended up placing a few toys on the 3 km walk. Recorded the way points on the GPS and let the kids do a search along the way.

Very nice place to camp; except on long week ends..very busy.
Bush was/is very very dry. No rain for a long time.

Showers in toilets not working. Lucky we bought our own shower tent.

Rumour has it that EPA are shutting down Peach Trees soon.
Sorry to hear if its true...

Did this one while camping at Easter. Walked the route and saw some of the area we had not seen before. Thanks for the cache. Took and left nothing. Andrew and Maryan.

Found with Pesky Pete & Aquilla while camping over Easter.

Had fun finding this cache but the exact Co-ords helped heaps.

IN; Toy Dinasaur & Tennis ball
OUT; Small Stanley knife & coin.

Camping in the area so had to make sure we did this one. If doing this one by foot, which is how we did it, allow plenty of time. We walked the block which made it approx 8- 9 km, mostly fairly easy though, only a couple of steep hills. Great cache and gave us the opportunity to explore the local countryside, some of which is very nice. our GPS was a little out with a few of the tags but this was probably due to the overcast day. All tags were in good condition but would agree to having them all as per the first, more durable.

Killer of a walk for someone with a sore knee.
Made mistake of using direct line approch to 2nd tag. See lots of rain forest and lantanna.

Made a trip up to make sure that the initial waypoint was in good order. Fixed that one up and thought I would check on the rest. Seems the spirits of wind or what ever had played havoc with two others as well. All fixed now but have learned that a bet class of 'tag' is required, these are not as permanent as I thought. Next camping trip I will replace them all but they should be OK for anyone thinking of having this for a diversion on an Easter camping trip.

Yeah, first to find! Found with PlatenFailure. This is a good cache and it had us guessing until the end. We got a little pre-occupied with making sure we had first to find honours that we forgot to take anything to put in the cache. Thanks for the hunt.

Yay found this cache along with MikeyMoo. Was a bit of a mission to get out and back around 200km round trip. Great cache though only our second multi-cache.
