While on a shore trip from the Oosterdam we spent some time looking over the caldera.

An awe inspiring sight. It must have looked great in full eruption.

TFTC.

[green]For Tipsie's birthday, we decided to head over to the big island. So she met me in Honolulu and we then flew over together, staying at the KMC in the Volcanoes National Park. After checking in, we made the short trip up to this cache. It was really overcast so we couldn't see much but the Caldera has been very "vocal" for the last couple of days. We decided to come back the next two nights and were treated to great sights and sounds from the crater AND from the stars and meteor shower. This was definitely an unforgettable place for us! e-mail has been sent for Tipsie and I. TFTC!

SuperJaz, Ultra Violet Z, Little Buds visited the Jagger museum, which was fascinating. Visiting the volcano was a great part of our Hawaiin holiday. Thanks to Yosemite John & Debbie for adding a caching dimension to the experience!

I was particularly fascinated to learn that another volcano is growing nearby, and will one day merge with and increase the size of Hawaii - incredible.

Cheers
