What a blast! literally. Fun to be had by all. This Weekend will be in our thoughts for awhile and I was pleased to be part of the crew in organising.
A lot of the pleasure was in all the pre event preparation, phone calls, meetings, the constant emails between Crackers and myself as permissions and permits were obtained for the fireworks.
I would like to thank all who attended, it was great to see old friends and meet new ones. Thanks for your kind comments you have left on this page.
• Many thanks to Team Crackers, Vombatus & fullonphil for the large effort you put into the best Fireworks Display I have ever seen. Mark ,you said it would be loud, and the comments I am getting from our town folk are testament to that.
• Thanks to Mark & Janette the organization of the desserts and for your help in the camp kitchen. Thanks for returning the hire toilet. That saved me a heap of time. You must be proud that the first trailer you ever towed on your new Prado was a porta loo.
• Thanks to Peter & Cat for all the organising of the dinner, bringing the catering equipment and the purchasing of a lot of the food. Peter, your directional skills in the kitchen created us a tasty feast.
• Thanks to everyone who helped to pack up all the gear. This was done in record time and without a fuss.
• Thanks to Mikita for all the pre camp preparation. The grass cutting, cutting of all the firewood. Thanks to Betty and Ingrid for all the vegetable preparation.
• Thanks to Colin & Russel for the use of their great property (again).
• Thanks to Peter and Jenny for creating this event, and all the prep work. We never thought it would be as big as it was. We weren’t disappointed.
Big thanks to all the helpers, that’s just about everybody, those who brought along ovens, dream pots and other stuff I may have missed.
Looking forward to seeing you all again
Darryn.

Woe is usSad!!!!
A weekend at home twiddling thumbs and doing odd jobs...
Thinking there was something I should be doing....
About lunchtime Sunday we decided a couple of caches would be the thing to do, so we checked the email to see what was new in the area...Well, You know the storyRed Face... We thought of you guys as you packed away your gear!!!

Thanks Mr Coffee and the clan for trying to cheer us up by dropping in on the way home and telling us all about how much fun you had and how we would have had an absolute ball!!Smile

Sounds like the organisation was sensational.
Maybe next year.Big Grin

WOW!! What else can we say that hasn't already been said? Some things do bear repeating though. Our thanks to Pyrenees Kid, Biggles Bear Mike & Betty for the most amazing event ever. Location, location, location. Gum trees, distant sheep, eventually sunshine, and the early morning kookaburra chorus. Thanks of course to Colin for making the property available again. What luxury to have shelter, porta-loo, fire and, best of all, old and new friends. A chance as well for us to road-test our new Engel fridge and Dream Pot, which both scored full marks. Then there were the new caches to find, via interesting 4WD routes with amazing views, and even a few wildflowers still about. Back at camp on Saturday afternoon there was a happy production line of vegetable preparation to go with the delicious meat and that impressive embi knife-wielding demonstration. Thanks again to Peter & Cat for the expert quartermaster organisation of various tables, shelters, camp ovens and Dream Pots to produce a truly gourmet meal, with additional experienced cooking guidance from embi and djcache. As if that wasn't already the perfect end to a marvellous day, we then had the Team Crackers/Fullonphil/vombatus fireworks extravaganza. We all had front-row seats to what must be the best show we have ever seen, made all the more enjoyable by the glimpse we were given of the equipment and work that goes into producing such a display - simply breathtaking. Marvellous to share children, dogs and, most of all, our geocaching bond. We eagerly look forward to the next get-away Event.

The Coffee Clan had a top weekend that we didn’t want to leave.
The weekend consisted of some great caches, fine food, good wine and spirits, some interesting to say the least video clips (amazing way to launch a sky rocket), 4 wheel driving and, great company around a campfire.
A whole hearted big thank you to Biggles Bear and The Pyrenees Kid for putting the weekend together. Another big thank you to Team Crackers, Full-on-Phil and Vombatus for putting on one of the best fireworks displays we have seen, having an uninterrupted front row seat just topped it off.
Thanks to Embi, Pprass and others for the prep and cooking. Another thanks to DJCache for the Melitta, and a big thank you to everyone who attended for your friendship and company.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the “I painted reserved for the Coffee Clan 2006 on the ground†Clan.

What a way to top off an excellent days caching. Muzza, Kiwideb and I teamed up to find a good number of caches along the way to the event and were well pleased with the result. What followed could only be described as the "icing on the cake". There were fantastic company, and I'm glad to have met so many new cachers - all as eager as ever. The meal put on was up there with any of the best bush meals, and I must give a whole hearted thank you to those hands that made it possible - no small task by any means. And with a fire works finale at the end of the night it was just magical. Thanks Teams crackers and company for showing us the behind the scenes setup, which I found to be of great interest, and for dazzling us with a ligt show to remember for a long time to come. Having an alomost personalised fireworks display is pretty hard to top.

THANK YOU so must for going to so much effort and making this a special event!!!!

19-Nov-05
A fantastic weekend and we had a ball. Caught up with many old faces and met some new ones too.

A big thanks to all who organised this one and to the entertainment specialists who put on a great fireworks display. This event will take a lot to be beaten.

Stay tuned ... we will have the official DVD out soon.

19-Nov-05
Well I've finally recovered enough to be able to sit in from of my computer and log our attendance for the weekend; No I definitely was not suffering from an overdose of liquid happiness, if only it had been that simple [B)]

As others have noted it was a great weekend on all fronts (and we believe we may have two very new geo-children [8)]). The down side to all this though is, we have now set the bench mark very high for future events we organize Surprised

And now on to thank those without whose help this event would not have happened.

Thanks to everyone who attend the event and helped make it the success it was Big Grin

A big thank you to the Pyrenees Kid and Mikita, who’s good offices enabled us to use the property as our base camp. They also put in a good week of prep work getting the campsite up to scratch. The Pyrenees Kid's efforts in providing the best quality meat.

Thanks to Betty and friends who spent their entire Saturday peeling, slicing and dicing 8kg of carrots Surprised and double wrapping 10kg of spuds Surprised

Thanks to PPrass for his help in purchasing the vegetable and other ingredients, and also for his help (with the assistance of the Pyrenees Kid & EMBI) in designing the menu.

Thanks to Mike, Darryn, Peter & Cat for the wonderful shelter that came in handy during the brief rain shower.

Thanks to EMBI for his help around the kitchen and for providing the desert Razz that was some really good pav.

Thanks also to DJ Cache for introducing a new cooking method, and general assistance around the fire.

Thanks to all those who provided the necessary number of camp ovens, as well as those who pitched in throughout the evening and provided assistance with the prep work.

Lastly and by no means leastly Team Crackers, Vombatus & fullonphil, who provided the highlight of the nights entertainment.

Did we have fun? Oh yes, we had a ball.

Will we do it again? Who knows; watch this space for details Wink

What else can we add. Biggles Bear and the Pyrenees Kid have excelled themselves in organizing this event.( With a lot of help from their friends) The turn out was fantastic and as usual it was great to meet some new teams as well as catching up with good friends made through Geocaching. We must thank Mikita and the Pyrenees Kid for the new caches and being in group 2 we thank our leader Mikita for making it such an interesting drive whilst locating them, I don't think we would have found them with out your local knowledge and also thanks to Aislin for helping to guide us through those 4WD tracks. We unfortunately missed the Friday night gathering due to work commitments but really enjoyed the Saturday night meal. We would like to say a special thanks to all involved in the behind the scenes planning & setup for this .
We can't imagine anything better than a group of people with a common interest laughing and joking around a camp fire putting back a few ales at the end of a great day
Finally , thank you to every one for being part of this great weekend

19-Nov-05
A man of few words.

Thanks to all.

What could be better, good friends, good food and wine and the company of the great Australian bush.

19-Nov-05
This was our first geocaching get together and all three of us had a wonderful time. We were only able to attend on Saturday evening, but it was well worth the trip. Hopefully we'll be able to stay overnight at the next one.

Thanks so much to Biggles Bear and The Pyrenees Kid for doing such a great job of organizing the whole thing! And thanks to all the chefs who worked hard and provided us with a delicious meal.

Also a big thanks to Team Crackers, Full-on-Phil and Vombatus for putting on such a great fireworks display. It was easily one of the best displays we've ever seen.

Thanks again to everyone involved, including all the geo-kids who did such a great job of keeping an eye on our little Elli. We're definitly looking forward to the next event!

19-Nov-05
Our heartfelt thanks to all who helped in organising the event. Cool

We met up with the groups on Saturday morning and enjoyed a good half day of 4wding. After making it back to base camp and setting up our campsite we were greeted in the evening by a smorgasboard of meat, vegetables, snacks and to top it off pavlova that even my MaccaMum was proud of! Wonderful!!!!!

And the surprise was fantastic and left us wishing we would be around for the next Crackers event (we'll have to stay tuned!)...

Looking forward to the next event and to catch up with friends both new and old!!!

Thanks
Justin & Tania

Our first event cache and you could not ask for a better weekend.Big Grin
It was great to put faces to the names we see in the logbooks and the forums.
The local vineyards also got a bit of our patronage on the way home Wink
Jase and Deano would like to thank everyone involved with organising this event especially:
* Biggles Bear and Pyrenees Kid for a well organised event at a great location, (and all the chefs for a delicious meal)
* Team Crackers, Full-on-Phil and Vombatus for their awesome fireworks display
* PK, Mikita and Pprass for the new caches added in the area this weekend.
and finally,
* Everyone, for making us feel welcome, and providing great advice and hints for a couple of newbies like us.
Hopefully we will see you all soon at future events.

Once again, thanks to all.

PS. Embi: You will have our footage and photos later this week. Smile

Smile This was such a fantastic event which I enjoyed thoroughly, for the Saturday afternoon and evening which I attended. As usual, it was great to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones as well. Smile

Smile Many thanks to Biggles Bear and Pyrenees Kid for the preparation and running of the event, and to all those who were involved in the evening dinner - it was sensational. Smile

Smile And a big thankyou to Team Crackers, Full-on-Phil, and Vombatus for their stunning surprise after dark fireworks display. Like everything else, it was magnificent, and a fitting way to finish off a wonderful day. Smile

Smile Thanks again to everyone involved. Smile

Found at 4.45pm GAFF5! After all there were signs pointing to it, other people were already there and what's more we had to have Pyrenees Kid guide us as we over-ran the second sign to the camp ground trying to find a smoother track to take the fragile van through.
We were expecting to have a good time at this event and were looking forward to meet the new teams (Tandoori, 2dudez, Smegheads) and also re-aquainting ourselves with the teams we already knew. Our expectations were satisfied in about 5 minutes as we quickly slipped into a "peacefull easy feeling" and started to enjoy probably the best event so far. We would like to thank all those that assisted in making this event a success. A lot of pre-preparation went into this weekend by Pyrenees Kid, Mikita, Betty, Ingrid, Embi and Biggles Bear. What also made it fun and enjoyable was the Saturday communal dinner, where so many people pitched in to help - that was real fun! Thanks especially to Embi and Djcache for your respective expertise - it was really appreciated. Also what made the night even more spectacular was the impressive fireworks display put on by Team Crackers, Vombatus and that hopping fullonphill.

I'm in! I will be travelling with Muzza and Kiwideb. We should be there late Saturday afternoon or evening.

13-Nov-05
Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Plese note that the co-ordinates given are to the entrance gate and for those wishing to get there earlier that 3:30pm on the friday will need to contact me via email to make other arrangements as the gate will be locked. When aproaching from the melbourne direction the gate is on the right (concealed) and there will be an arrow sign on the left. Once through the gate (will be left unlocked) our camp is about 800mt along the track which is suitable for 2wd, tralers and caravans. Just make your family aware that snakes could be around, Heyfever sufferers to bring their favorite antihisyomine, and of course the Aeroguard.

Looks like djcache will be there!

After a bit of rearranging we'll be there with a few ringins.

So for numbers
Dave & Lynne, Aislin & Renae (the kids won't eat much). The geo hounds will also join us - if there's any problem please let me know.

Looks like Ian & Lindley with Simon & Amelia (big kids) will also be joining us - my sister and her boyfriend & kids who are at present muggles who own a GPS and 4wd. It's up to you to convert them - the challenge has been set down.

Looking forward to it.

Preparations are progressing nicely for the forthcoming event. This note is to alert all to a couple of requirements;

Dinner will be a communal affair. A main meal will be provided along with dessert (a charge will be levied to cover food and toilet costs)

Could all teams bring along a pre-dinner snack (to share) and we're not talking potato chips, something gourmet Razz

As there will be no potable water on site could all teams ensure they bring enough drinking water to satisfy their needs through out the weekend.

Please see the thread in the Australian Geocaching Forum

Hi All,

Only just found out about this last night from Embi. We've been away since the start of October.

I am desparately trying to cancel or reschedule another trip I've already organised.

One question (I'll ask on forum as well as I need a speedy reply) : Are geodogs welcome???

Hope we can make it.
