If you've found this since it was archived, then I'm afraid you haven't _really_ found it (but I'll let your logs stand)
It was originally a bit trickier, with a magnet and string provided, but in a metal post that attracted the magnet.
Hooking it out with a loop provided just isn't suitably MacGyverish.
No further finds will be allowed.

Great afternoon for caching today, so I enjoyed a nice walk over from the "Forrestdale Trail" cache which is only 320 metres away. As Pat of LP&N has repaired this cache, it's now quite easy to do, unlike our previous DNF from 18 months ago. Once I found the required tool, ie: a rusty old piece of wire...I hooked out the cache easily at 3:45pm. At last we have another DNF cache ticked off the list!
It's a shame this cache has been archived as it was one of Ursulas favourites. As it's now an easy cache to do, I would hope it could be un-archived. Any chance of that happening Bears? It would be a pity to see another Perth cache disappear, and the cache is still in good nick. TN-LN-SL. Thanks for the cache Bear_Left.

I think this episode has had enough re-runs. Maybe Episode 2 will air sometime...

Family of Bears...you can unarchive this cache. You could call this "What would Lyn Pat and Nathan Do"(just kidding). We thought about the likely problem and decided on bringing a stout piece of fencing wire with us and a pair of pliers. We bent the last 20mm of wire into a hook shape and slid it down the hole. We were surprise that first try we managed to hook the item and haul it out. When we pulled it out we were even more surprise that we had snared it as the hook was only just sitting under the top lip of the tube. It should have slipped off but luck was on our side.
Since we had the piece of wire we utilised it to repair the cache. Thinking like MacGyver is still a requirment but it is easier. You will still need to look for an item of assistance nearby (but if it goes missing)maybe bring along a piece of wire or string if you like to be a good boyscout.

According to a reliable report, it's a little more challenging than intended at the moment, due to a container mishap.
Feel free to attempt it, though, but add a star or two to the Diff:! (Now we get to exercise our ingenuity again!)

14:00 What would MacGyver do? Wouldn't have the foggiest.
Codeword? LOL, I didn't even look for one.

Did it this time. Didn't see or forgot the code word though.
Thanks Big Bear and Petite Bear.

Wow, someone had done a real job on this one! There's more details on the winners page for those who are interested.
The logs were recovered, but left out of this cache container for reasons of space. I'll put a scan on the winners page, probably.

Joined forces with Team Yabudarra again and we found the location easily after identifying it from photo. Hunted around for the bag for quite a while, but gave up when we couldn't find anything. But I did find a long piece of wire that someone had used previously for cache retrieval, so I attempted to fish the cache out of the post, and eventually managed to lift out a "device" which was broken...I cant say too much...and the lid of the cache with bits of red plastic thread inside it. Obviously the cache has been damaged by someone trying to get it out and it seems the "device", which fell in after beaking, is what we were supposed to fish the cache out with. This cache will need to be repaired. I tried for maybe an hour to fish it out but gave up and left it. I left the "device" and broken lid on the ground next to the post so that Bear_Left can see it. Good luck fishing the remains out BL!
Teamed up with Mal & Ulla from team 3BlindEyes. Pleasant enough walk. Located the cache, however bag was nowhere to be found. We managed to rig up a device to pull the hidden goods out of the post. We found that the device from the pouch was jammed inside the pole. Hence others not being able to find the hidden pouch. Pulled the device & the lid of the cache out of pole, cache still in pole - will need repair. Good idea. Needs stronger materials.
Hmmm... I wonder who was too embarrassed to tell us that they'd lost the helper item? It would have been much less of a problem than wasting the time of several other cachers.
Thanks for your ingenuity and perseverance, Blind Yabudarras! (C'mon, brag about it on the winners page!)

We found the post easy enough with the coordinates and matching the right one up with the picture given to us. However searching high and low for over an hour didn't reveal the little pouch with the 'useful item'. Daias ran back to our vehicle to find a torch to confirm that the cache was indeed there. Aye, we saw it but could not get it out from the pole.
We're planning to head out there again soon.

Didn't have much luck here. Had no tools and couldn't find the bag. Chwiliwr was going out to see if we was just stupid.
The Chillyone found it, a little further away than it used to be, as the grass has died back and it would've been exposed. The description's been updated.
We're sure he wouldn't have done what we did ... but it ended with the same result.
Nice idea and well executed in an area not frequented by muggles thank godness ... who'd need an audience with this task.

I knew exactly what McGyver would do (of course I do - I was a teenager of the 80's - sadly)
Found the cache. no problems Dropped TBs Thanks for your cache. (I like this one).
Flies are going to be real bad this summer. The mossies grow large around here. Met another cacher and between us had success.

The eternal optimist I had to at least try the obvious first but then I am only a MacGyver in training after all.
Found it OK and signed log at 1910.
Thanks BL for another cache.
If you are going to this cache after dark then make sure you have good insect repellent.
