Time for another Tremendous Tuesday Trek, so went and picked up the Rat from her nest and then headed for the Starfish's pond. Then we set off towards CPwanderland in the Starfish's new geovehicle with the main aim being the Woodlands Mail series. After that was completed it was into Murray Bridge to rectify a recent DNF and then lunch. Then it was north to Mypolonga and the surrounding area where there were quite a few we all wanted. There was one cache I'm going to remember for a long time, for the right reasons, and by the time were made it back to the Starfish's pool we all had a very satisfying number of new smilies. A great day. This one was certainly the highlight of the day. Parked close to a fisherman and not too far away from GZ. After the obligatory chat with the happy fisherman we set off towards GZ. We were soon presented with a number of choices and I think we covered them all.Once the GPRs's, reading were a little variable, probably because of the overhang, or was that the hang over, indicated we were close we went up a bit and started looking but no cache was found. The Starfish returned to the path but I, not wanting to have to climb up again, and under the probably false belief that I had everything under control continued edging sideways. Hadn't got far when the Starfish announced that he'd found the cache but by now going forward seemed better than going back so continued until a suitable way down was seen. Was heading down when I also spotted what had to be a cache so scrambled back up a bit to get it, a very old and much sun damaged 180mml sistema in a take-away food container, and absolutely nothing else, no logbook.Decided to place the round screw top container the Starfish had found in the position I'd found what we were pretty sure was the original. The position was much more reflective of the description. Now that I'm finally logging I'm sure we made the right decision as the spoiler photo, which was unseen until now, pity, compares favourably with the photo posted by the Starfish of me just in front of where cache was returned to.Now all we had to do was get back to the car, taking the geo rubbish with us for disposal. Many thanks to Uni and Medusa for placing this cache in such an excellent location.Smilie #15279.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*
Woo Hoo another Tuesday Trekking for 3 Confused Puzzlers.Today's plan was for ttrogg to pick up the Rat from her nest. Then we headed up to pick up the Starfish from his pond.We then headed to Monarto Woodlands. It was a lovely day to go for a walk in the woolands. When we finished our walk in the woodlands. Then we headed for more caches. We managed to get down Snake Gully Rd to the campsite. There was man fishing, we had a chat and headed for the cache. We picked our way high and low to the cache. We found some geo rubbish and took that back to the geomobile.Found the replacement cache and stamped the log and replaced the cache. Then it was an adventure to get back to the campsite. Tftc
Something special or unusual goes here:Almost 4 years of unloved! And logs that suggested the area has been flooded since then. But we were not deterred. Along Snake Gully Road to the gate. There was already a car parked down the end so we opened the gate and drove to the end where there was a man fishing. [^] He had a successful day and called the area 'Snakes Landing.' I hopped it wasn't aptly named. We left him there and started the walk to GZ. Not too far and the river met the box thorns. Ttrogg chose to wade past a slight detour but I back tracked and went higher and found a cow track. So there we were, high, low and in between negotiating box thorns along narrow cow tracks. How do they turn around to get back [?] Eventually all roads led to where the GPS said we were near GZ. Time for the climb. Up we went into the space under the overhand and searched every nook and cranny. Nada. Looking past a outcrop we could see another possibility, another large crevice. I went back down to the 'path' by Ttrogg decided to take the 4.0 terrain option across the cliff face for some reason. [:o)][:o)]As i quickly passed in front along the track I found a cache. Meanwhile Ttrogg was trapped a few metres above me, so I started to guide him to foot and hand holds to make his way down. When he was almost down to me he said, "I can see the cache." So instead of coming all the way down he went into the hollow and found another cache. Well, a cracked sistema inside another container hidden in the alcove. It didn't have a log book but the position was the same as in the spoiler photo! I looked at the other cache we had found down by the track. It had a log book first placed by CP Wanderer back in 2010 and was the one everyone was finding. So we stamped this log and placed it back to where the spoiler photo suggested it should be and removed the old useless containers. FP from me for the adventure. The Generic Bit:The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Another Tuesday Trek for some Puzzle solvers. Ttrogg picked up Mrs. Sewer Rats and came to my pond where they jumped into my geomobile. Once again we were heading down to CP Wonderland for another series of caches and then onto the Mypolonga area to see what we could find. ***Thanks Uni and Medusa for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Tried this one again - got to end of snake gully road and was still 200m away from cache. Didnt look like a walking path anywhere to be seen .. not sure how to access this cache? Setting up camp for a week in Murray Bridge before the MEGA for 29th Feb!Moving to Ballarat for another week afterwards. Last hurrah travelling before wooding season at home starts!Happy caching and safe travels!
Went for this one had to rock hop as there is high water atm got a wet sock got within 30m and after seeing my 4th snake within a meter of me and in a 20m stretch as they are hiding in the grass sunning them selphs today I aborted I will come back on a nice cold day when there sleeping under the rocks
Found It!
I've had a few attempts at this one over the years but today was the first time that I actually made it all the way to GZ. And I soon found the cache! Nice little walk and a beautiful spot you'd never visit if not for this cache!

out with mogni on route to Murray Bridge to do maintenance on some of her adopted caches. quick find. found after doing the wherigo. Didn't read the cache listing too i got to a gate. Phone range was poor at best so i couldn't tell what road i was on. GPS just showing a brown line on the map. I had saved the listing offline so i read the logs. I assumed i was going through the same gate as the muffs. Strolled up the " track " up the hill, then the track disappeared. Walked some more, good views from the top of the cliffs. The cache was 37 meters straight down. Strolled some more, found a way down, way above the t 2.5 listed terrain. Got down to the river level. walked along the bank. Very peaceful down here. Walked past gz to the end of the trail. walked back a very short way, took some pictures. Found the cache. The base is in pieces, lid and log book fine. no water damage to the log. Stamped it and climbed back up the cliff and walked back to the car. fav point for the location.
Came arcoss this unexpectedly on an exploration with a mate. Was a good find and now has me looking for more. Excellent idea.
Tried to find but not sure if I was on the right level. I was on foot as we had moored our hired houseboat and came down from above to look under the hangovers.
The approach to this cache had us going around in circles. We headed down Snake Gully Road to come face to face with a closed gate, on the other side of the gate there was cows. We retreated and tried several other roads to no avail. We eventually found a road that appeared to go where we needed to go. This was the levee bank road and we did not realise that we should not have been driving on it until we reached the other end and found another closed gate and when we opened this one on the other side of it there was a notice telling us that no vehicles were allowed to drive on the levee unless you were a local farmer or a contractor. We hoped that anyone who may have seen us would think that we were a contractor.
Then the walk to the cache. This is an adventure in itself. There is not much path left in places and I was concerned that I was going to end up in the river and I did not want that as it was very windy and cold. As Huurtle says, the cache is approx. 20 meters on from where GZ is, but, the hint tells you to go to the end of the path and if you do this you will find a cache.
Now to retreat, we choose not to go back over the scary levee and attempt to get back to Snake Gully Road. thankfully the owner, who had been there earlier, had not placed a padlock on this gate and we were able to escape and move onto the next cache.
We really feel that a waypoint would be helpful for where you need to go through the gate and perhaps mention that it is a public road and that it is OK to go through the gate.

This one has been the GPSr since almost day one of caching for me.
So eventually after over 10 years finally ventured here.
Finding the correct road was interesting, as was negotiating the cattle along the track.
Parking at the 'campsite', there was a houseboat moored. After a short friendly chat, continued to GZ where the cache was found in exactly the spot as described in the hint, although the GPSr said we had gone past it about 20m back! We didn't see the spoiler pic till logging! lol
The water is very high at the moment, so there was not much track to walk on, although the cattle seem to come along here too.
Cache is all high and dry though, but it seems the Boofs may have forgotten to sign the logbook?
Oldest cache found today, love finding 'pre-caching placed cache'!

Thanks for the cache Uni and Medusa

There was a muggle about and didn't want to spoil the hide as we had the geo kids with us and they don't know what stealth is lol
Searched for as long as I could on this 40 degrees day - wanted to leave trackable but couldn't find you
Had our eye on this one for many months, just never bothered to head this way until more caches popped up in the Mypolonga area.
Found on a beautiful Spring Day. JN found this one on his 7th birthday.
Proceeded along the path despite warnings from some local fishing-dudes that they'd seen a red-bellied black snake earlier.
Beautiful views of the river. TFTC.

After some lunch and a bit of a rest, we set off to discover some more treasure around the Murray Bridge township .
This cache was a long way out, but got a hint on how to get to it last night, so had to come back today and make our find .
The current resident campers knew what we were after and were very friendly as we passed by [^].

A lot of visits here in the last 24 hours, compared with the last few years !

After getting to the end of the OzMega TRail, I saw that this cache (which I had attempted before from this park) was less than km away. So ignoring to remind me of the clue I went ahead along my previously attempted track on top of the cliffs and then diverting down to the shore. Not a good decision as it made terrain into 4. Eventually, after some scary moments (with narrow "trail" and cliffs hanging overhead) , the cache was in my hands. Continued north along the easier track to the camping spot described by the owner and managed to find my way to the top and then it was easy going to the geo-vehicle. Recommendation: approach either from the north along the river bank or by boat. Left a TB. Thanks Uni and Medusa.
Found this with the family while at the Mega Event in SA. The S's Me_to and Charlie_bear TYFC

Found at 12pm with maccamob. The kids enjoyed the narrow path along the river, especially when Callum "dipped" his toes in. TNLN. Thanks
Olga and I have replaced the cache. It is in the same spot as before. The path is not as easy now, as there is a bit more boxthorn, but we made it without too much trouble.
I wont call this a DNF as the closest I got was about 500 meters west of the cache. There is a padlocked gate across the track. Ill add this cache to the "by boat" list when I get around to finishing my boat.
Next time.

well we took the tinny out for a trip today and moored just near the cache..... could we find it - we could not!!! wow there are a lot off holes in that hung over cliff...... maybe try again on another boat outing.
Approached by house boat and walked along from south side. Not the best! Banged head, stung by hornet, lots slippery gravel. Had fun though. Best approach via path from north. Looked everywhere and couldn't find it , well another trip to look forward to next boat trip.
What a great place!! I had two attempts at this one. The first was with my six year old boy yesterday from the cliff tops over head in failing light. A bit scary as the cliff was about 20 m high and the ground uneven and slippery. We couldn't see a way of getting down to it safely so we headed home thinking descretion was the better part of valour. What a great view though!! It was well worth the trip just for that. The next morning I headed off alone with the kayak which I launched from a landing about 600m south of the spot. After a nice 10 minute paddle I reached GZ, clammered over the rocks and up to the base of the cliff which really was "hung over". It took quite a while to find and the hint was very useful but at last I had it. Very well camouflaged. Paddled back downstream in the rain with a tail wind and sense of accomplishment.
Thanks for a fantastic geocaching experience Team Unicycle!!!!

We found this while on a houseboat holiday with Roma123. We thought the terrain should be more as it was quite difficult to get to. We enjoyed it! particularly that we found it. Thanks for the cache.
Found on a Houseboat holiday with Gemini7, lovely crusing along the river. Took us about 15 mins to locate the cache then happily signed log.

WOW, What a way to arrive at this cache, all you needed to do was complete all of CP WANDERERS series of 6 caches ( with a podium finish). Thus done Chris had offered a wonderful cruise on his loverly 38 ft cruiser on the Mighty Murray River.
We arrived at the marina at about 9.20 am, cast off for a three hour tour, mmmmmmmm better check on the name of this vessel, AH no worries this is not the MINNOW!! BIG RELIEF.
We slowly cruised up the river, enjoying the sights along the way, arrived at the best place to moore the boat, but, alas, there was another vessel parked just where we wanted to tie up for a short while. Never mind, we'll tie up alongside, ahhh that's good.
took a short stroll to the cache, signed the log, placed some of our path-tags and then headed back to the boat for the journey back to the bridge and another cache placed on LONG ISLAND, enjoyed a well presented lunch provided by our skipper washed down with a nice can of cold coke.
(Mr. flipper even drove the boat for a while)

Thanks to CP Wanderer for replacing the cache and the cruise to enable us to find a cache that has been on the radar for some time, as green deckies we managed to tie the boat up alongside a houseboat without incident and enjoy a short walk to the cache while discovering fossils in the rocks. Myself, Bronsen, Mooshell_22, and Sydneykiwi cruised up to this location and did a final search for the cache container. As it was clearly long gone we placed another cache container at the co-ordinates. This is a one litre screw cap container in desert cammo. Look for the tree nearby and, as per the original instructions there is a short climb after making your way along the river bank.
New cache has a replacement long book, pencils and a number of swaps.

"Found" the new cache container we had just put out to replace the long gone original. Muggles camping nearby but they werent in the least interested in us when we cruised up!!!!!

Enjoyed the cruise to this cache. Thanks to CPwanderer for taking us and to Sydneykiwi for making it more fun. Bronsen, I'm not gonna mention you again, after what you put me through the other night caching. TFTC, TNLN
Cruised up to this spot and pulled in for an hour or so so muggle friend could "wet a line" In the end we both walked down the path to the cache... but after an hour of searching..... and going where no man should go... no cache. Will watch these logs closely as we find it hard to believe there wasnt a nook or cranny we didnt check out
First find in nearly two years. The funny thing is that I was in the area last weekend, and thought I'd check on the cache. However, without the coordinates, but armed with a poor memory, I couldn't work out where the road was that leads to the cache.
found it by pure chance without our gps whilst on holidays with muggle family and friends mwhahahahahaha
As we were staying the night on our house boat decided to look but come up with nothing. And when i say look we were there in the GZ area for about 3hrs and still nothing.
I got to within 15 metres but I was too chicken to go where my GPS was pointing. Next time I'll try a different approach.
Like others I came from the wrong side first. Backed out and headed round the top. Found a way down that on last weeks efforts at Morialta is probably about 3.95 access.
After a short wander that removed all sats from the sky I eventually found the cache in the most obvious logical place.
Headed back up the 3.95 terrain to the top under the watchful eyes of the crew on a monster floating house raft parked nearby. What they thought of my activities I can only wonder.

Found Sometime. 3rd of 5 FFTD. Trusted Chizbeki's GPSr with Mapsource with this one, bumped into 'Corey's' friends who were lost looking for him (Couldn't explain to them how we ended up in the wrong place on a 'Private' road!). Found the right road using the trusty CFS maps of the area, ended up at the campsite with little more problems. Muggle campers pointed us in the right direction to the cache which was very kind of them . The Murray Princess came past as we were scaling are way along to GZ, made the geokids want to book themselves in for a relaxing holiday . Had to send Mr C and Mrs E into find the cache, as I had the youngest geokid strapped to my front in a sling . TNLNSL. TFTC
Followed our GPS with mapsource initially on this one, which led us onto private land "Corey's" apparently , decided it was better just to follow the arrow, which led us to a great little camping spot with front row seats of the river. A fantastic spot to watch the water activities, including the Murray Princess going past. Nearly left our GPS their, but fortunately remembered before back at the car. TNLN TFTC
A case of Back to the Future, since I am backdating this log from Easter 2014 (as I log my finds for the Oz Mega 2014)! I was obviously with shonkylogic, as I was party to his find which was so close to my childhood home. I can remember going under the overhang, tho I don't remember being particularly hung over (nor am I now). Thanks Uni & Me (great seeing you at the mega)
This is the nearest cache to i, dax's parents house. Left Ms shonky and baby shonky with i, dax's parents and i, dax and i, shonky set out to find the cache. Relatively easy find once one finds the correct approach. It has been accidentally found by muggles since nibs was here, but they re-hid the cache well. Enjoyed the area and the walk to the cache. Thanks Team Unicycle.
I think we did this one completely wrong as far as direction of approach goes . We approached via Woodland road coming in from the southeast. We were faced with a 400m walk to the cache. The trail along the river started out ‘ok’ at first but deteriorated rapidly, and at one point we were ‘bouldering’ our way forward. Stuck with the choice of going back and forgoing the cache, or pressing on, we chose the latter and eventually found it. The cache only had ‘girlie’ stuff in it (and I’d left all my girlie swaps in my handbag, back in the car [:o)] ) so TNLN. Pressed on east-ward after the find and discovered the road we SHOULD’VE approached from, but which was now taking us away from the car.
Forced to now climb to the top of the cliffs so we could return, we found the closest ‘easy’ way up and set forth. Poor Auzee (who hates heights and climbing) had a pretty hard time of it, especially as I had to grab her hand and drag her up the last 10m. We got back to the car pretty shagged .
Really glad we were able to get this one on the first attempt. Great cliffs and a nice secluded little camping spot near GZ. Took a million photos. Thanks for showing us this place TU. If we ever come back, we’ll know better

Found @ about 2pm, I was just at a fishing comp just down the road. If I knew his was more then a 100 walk I could have done a driveby with me ski-boat when I was in the area just over a month ago.
Took Cow ( it seemed there were too many cows in the area ) and Left Kangaroo.

Found by Mary & David at 1310. Took us a while - we approached from the wrong end and had to retrace our steps and try from the other direction. Reached the camp spot to find it occupied by campers relaxing right at the start of the path. Had a story ready, but after a short chat they asked if we were geocachers. We introduced ourselves to Team Crackle, their friends the Geokelpies, and their friendly dogs. Small world! They had their camp very well set up and we would have liked to stay chatting longer but dtill had a long drive back to Melbourne ahead of us. Picked our way carefully along the path, as there were a couple of spots where we would have got rather wet if we had missed our footing. Great views of the 'hung-over' cliffs and the river. Took nail polish, left a pack of recipe cards. Also collected TB 'Love Piggy' to get reaquainted on our drive home. Our thanks to the Unicyclers for our last SA cache this trip.
Was out by myself and chickened out on the slippery cliff as I did not feel like a swan dive!!

Was feeling a little that way this morning so decided a drive along the river may help. Followed by a little walk and a climb!
This is a popular spot it seems. 2 houseboats were moored 50m from the cache but their attentions were elsewhere.
