Have decidedto archive this one for now as a replacement might result in a repeat muggle attack.
I have found this cache, but it wasn't where I believe it was supposed to be hidden.
It appears vandals have gotten to the cache container, and filled it with dry grass, torn pages out of logbook, and set it on fire.
The container has melted hole through it, logbook and all paper is burnt, just the occasional partial burnt page left to tell what it was, geocaching laminated card burnt, swaps still inside but I think are damaged.
Someone really did a number on it, and I thought there was no point leaving the cache there as other than some swaps, there was nothing worth retrieving from it, or worth leaving it there for as container was damaged too.
I have the cache container, etc in my possession currently, as CITO.

Quick easy find which was lucky because the mossies found us again. Seemed to cover all one side of the car.
Not much there so took a pen and left a hotrods car and Team chelmos Ice Rose Geocoin.
I am looking forward to taking the boys fishing when they are a little bigger.
Thanks for looking after this cache.

Found on a blustery cold NW day. The view of the lake across to the Port Hills was wild. Surprised a few vehicles passed by as we were writing up the log. Loved the little digger reminded us of the earthmoving machines at the last cache so swopped it for a packet of twist & shape balloons.
Thanks
Thanks
Nice easy find. A great and unusual view of the Port Hills from this angle. Thanks.
Up for a rugby game - wandered off while they warm up. A really nice spot - not so friendly locals. Beautiful calm day. T4TC. Cache was very wet, so dried out as best I could with tools I had. Removed clock (rusted and face gone), and CD. If next visitor can bring spare silicon... Log book O.K. in its bag. Left digger. Cheers.
Found after reading hint. Was tired of getting pricked and decided I needed a clue to narrow the search. TNLN TFTC.
This turned out to be a rather easy find while I was on another mission in the area.
the cache is a little damp and gungy on the bottom, but the log was ok, I dried it a bit on the car heaer for a few minutes.
Thanks,

Found it in the lupins! All a bit damp though. With Buzzing Bee on her first geocache. TNLN
Had a bit of fun fiinding this as I'd entered the wrong co-ords so it looked like the cache was on the spit! Was a bit disgruntled and ready to leave when I searched for closest caches and a very nearby entry came up. Thank goodness I'd entered it twice. No swaps. Cheers for a neat spot I'd not been to before.
12:36 pm - Interesting view. Went back along the road and into the kaik to have lunch overlooking the cliffs at the lake outfall. TFTC. TNLN.
The cache was quite damp. I don't think the rusty alarm clock in there will ever go again. I dried everything (apart from the clock's insides) and left some silica gel. Cheers.
Second find for the afternoon. No problems getting there or finding it. Cache was still damp so we empyied it out and dried everything with a towel we had with us. Removed very wet silica and one diary which was very wet. Unfortunately we had no replacement Silica Gel. Will have to start carrying some with us. Took one of Lytteltonwithch's books to read and then release again.

Easy find, but cache was soaked as the edge of the lid was not down properly. There was an inch or two of water in the bottom of the container and the Harrods address book had been immersed. We drained it, dried what we could and replaced it with the lid firmly on. Left pen, took pouch, thanks!
Wow, what a lovely view of our extinct volcanoes from here! The sun was starting to get low, so couldn't hang around for too long. No exchange made. Cheers Gav [878]
A bit of a drive from Terrano Stopper, but got here after a couple of wrong turns. Nice spot, 5th for the arvo. TNLN Thanks.
A quick find as cache fairly exposed as vegetation is very dry.Took playing cards and left a couple of books.
This was a very simple find as the palnts has died off. The lake was quite choppy with the high wind. Went for drive in country for some caching as the rough weather put a damper on much else. TNLN.
This was a great cache and easy find with our GPS and no detailed roadmap. We enjoyed the lake view and meeting a local sheep farmer. He stopped shearing his sheep to spend wee minutes talking to us about his sheep and our homebase in Texas. Left our social card and 2 pencils. Took Colored Growing Fish. Thanks for a great cache.
The wind had come up by the time we drove out here. Ther was a solid haze over the water and the hills. It is such a different view of the Port Hills from out here!
Thanks

Found this cache easily.
Nice spot for a cache, though I bet the neighbours will start to wonder why people keep driving up to this one spot. TNLNSL.

Well, it was a nice drive - an unfamiliar view of the Banks Peninsula hills. The cache was easy to find - especially with the "elephant" tracks. I too tried to straighten up the grass, but had little effect. Maybe the next person should go in on stilts!! No swaps (though there was room for them), cheers from Grandalf.
Visited this cache to check it today after last log indicated the possibility of muggling and incorrect co-ordinates. Cache is OK. Checked co-ordinates and they were a little out all right. Have put in updated ones. Thanks KiwiKat. You did well to find it!

Had a hell of a misson trying to get close to this one..the gps was tellimg me to go left for 5km but i just couldnt find a road that went left. After a few u-turns we finally got there...the cache was à lot easier to find as the pushed down grass led us stright to it..even though we were only the second lot of people to find it, it was like a hundred people had been there before us so we tried to pull it back up but with no real effect. + fish toy - TB
Cheers

I really did try to fluff the grass back up, but obviously didn't succeed. With two different locals coming along to question us and actually driving to within a couple of meters of us on the grass, I doubt that helped, either. In hindsight, I think there is a much better way to approach this, but with coords leading where they did...we went in the worst possible way. Again...Sorry!!
Although we were FTF on this one...eventually...we believe we were well and truly muggled by a couple of locals. Sorry! We also feel the coords are a bit off, but didn't have a chance to take any new ones, because of locals who, I think, suspected we might be cattle poachers!!!
